    Hi all, I'm using rmagick to manipulate image files. I use the ImageList.new on each file to get started. When I apply this method to an invalid image file I get the below error which interrupts the execution of the script: RMagick.rb:1635:in `read': Improper image header (Magick::ImageMagickError) Therefore I would like to be able to check whether a file is a valid image file before using this method. Any ideas? Thanks.

    I have a piece of code that reads hell of a lot (hundreds of thousand) of relatively small files (couple of KB) from the local file system in a loop. For each file there is a java.io.FileInputStream created to read the content. The process its very slow and take ages. Do you think that wrapping the FIS into java.io.BufferedInputStream would make a significant difference?

  • Enabled boot logging option in Win XP doesn't produce ntbtlog.txt file

    I have tried enabling the boot logging option for Windows XP Pro using the F8 and also boot.ini method, but it does not seem to be creating the expected ntbtlog.txt file. I'm doing this to help me solve a problem where the Avast antivirus service is not starting up - it keeps complaining with the message: "Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start". I seem to notice that the file is produced on a system where the Avast antivirus is starting up without any problems. Can anybody suggest why the ntbtlog.txt file is not being created?

  • mod hosts file, connect to joomla on remote server

    I've just acquired an account on a remote server with Joomla installed. I was instructed to add xxx.xx.xxx.xx name.ca www.name.ca to the hosts file which I found in /private/etc/ . I had to su to my admin account and use sudo to mod file and found that hosts is also found in /etc/ though it is apparently the same file. I attempted to flush the the DNS cache using dscacheutil -flushcache and then launched Safari and entered address xxx.xx.xxx.xx/administrator but got a 404 error. Joomla was set up for me by the server owner and accessed from his Windows laptop to demonstrate so I know it should work but no go here. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be?

  • Right solution for /etc/hosts file reset on reboot

    i've just installed funtoo and after setting the FQDN on /etc/conf.d/hostname i noticed when setting a list of aliases in /etc/hosts file it get overwtiten on each reboot. Someone points to set the aliases to 127.0.0.2 ip address but that's not a valid solution for me. Could someone point me to the file where i should place entries like 127.0.0.1 local.foo 127.0.0.1 local.bar in order to make them persist in /etc/hosts after rebooting? Thanks! PD: I think openresolv could be the one who is overwritting the file.

But this code doesn't let me set a phone number to dial after i setup the port and before I transfer the file.     I've been reading about the encryption features of TrueCrypt, including the feature to have an encrypted volume inside a file with any name. For example, I can create an encrypted volume inside a file named music.mp3. However, the file won't really play when I try to open it in a music player. Is there a way to add "decoy" content to music.mp3 so that someone who doesn't know its got encrypted content can double click on it and music will play? Obviously it doesn't have to be music, but also images, decoy test document, etc. etc.

    I need a way to pass a given variable - lets say thearch - to several different files within a given class. I need to be able to state the contents of this variable for each file individually. I have tried the following: file { "xxx": thearch => "i386", path => "/xxx/yyyy", owner => root, group => root, mode => 644, content => template("module/test.erb"), } This doesn't pass this variable so I can use it with a <%=thearch% statement within the erb file as I expect.     apache dont send me mp3 header even when use direct address to the file, it means i can play it with flash audio players on my web pages, but when i tried to download from direct address on my server i got "Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset" or sometimes gives me a file with mp3 extension that has just 13B files-size, and when i open that file in gedit/notepad there is just: <html></html> i dont have any problem with php files and images, but mp3 files never be send to browser for download or play. i added this code to httpd.conf: AddType audio/mpeg .mp3 but there is not any difference!! thanks in advance

    I am new to Drupal and have just started in Drupal 7. I have a very simple .bat file that calls a .txt file to open a ftp connection, get a file off the ftp server and place it on my desktop. Now that I know that works.. (YAY!) I need to figure out how to have it done with a cron job in Drupal, save it somewhere so that I can unzip it somehow and then populate a table in the database with it.     I'm new with dealing with the .sqlite3 in iphone, I created a sqlite3 file in /Users/myLab/Library/Application Support/iPhone Simulator/5.1/Applications/308C4355-D8EE-4524-A7F9-638DEB68B298/Documents/file.sqlite3 and I inserted the tables into it using Terminal.app and everything works ok with my app. but when I moved this application to another device, opened by xcode and trying to run it, I discovered that my tables are not found in this .sqlite3 file in another device. how can I save my tables in .sqlite3 file??
