  • spam email forwarding by server

    - by kikio
Let's start with this scenario: We have a mailbox (i.e. in yahoo), every message is sent by this account, marked as spam by Gmail spam filter. (because the address or sender IP is blacklisted, not because of content) There is a server which is able to forward incoming messages to another address (email forwarding), for example, to a Gmail mailbox. And it is not blacklisted. The question is: If we send a message, through the dirty mailbox to the server, and server forward it to a Gmail mailbox, will it marked as spam by spam filters?

  • Query Performance Degrades with High Number of Logical Reads

    - by electricsk8
I'm using Confio Ignite8 to derive this information, and monitor waits. I have one query that runs frequently, and I notice that on some days there is an extremely high number of logical reads incurred, +300,000,000 for 91,000 executions. On a good day, the logical reads are much lower, 18,000,000 for 94,000 executions. The execution plan for the query utilizes clustered index seeks, and is below. StmtText |--Nested Loops(Inner Join, OUTER REFERENCES:([f].[ParentId])) |--Clustered Index Seek(OBJECT:([StructuredFN].[dbo].[Folder].[PK_Folders] AS [f]), SEEK:([f].[FolderId]=(8125)), WHERE:([StructuredFN].[dbo].[Folder].[DealId] as [f].[DealId]=(300)) ORDERED FORWARD) |--Clustered Index Seek(OBJECT:([StructuredFN].[dbo].[Folder].[PK_Folders] AS [p]), SEEK:([p].[FolderId]=[StructuredFN].[dbo].[Folder].[ParentId] as [f].[ParentId]), WHERE:([StructuredFN].[dbo].[Folder].[DealId] as [p].[DealId]=(300)) ORDERED FORWARD) Output from showstatistics io ... Table 'Folder'. Scan count 0, logical reads 4, physical reads 0, read-ahead reads 0, lob logical reads 0, lob physical reads 0, lob read-ahead reads 0. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot where these high logical reads come from on certain days, and others nothing?

  • SIP Service to record all calls?

    - by TK Kocheran
I read an article that I can't find at the moment which detailed a way to have Google Voice point to a SIP phone number which forwards to your phone in order to take advantage of the SIP service in order to Have all calls use a data connection = no usage of cell-phone plan minutes. Record each and every conversation.* I really want to be able to accomplish this, primarily issue number 2, as all of the phone recorder tools in the Android Market essentially don't work for my Nexus One. I figure that I have one of two options with this. I could 1) use an existing (hopefully free) service which will do this for me or 2) I could set up a SIP service at my home. to somehow forward calls through my home server which will record the calls as well as forward calls to my cell phone. Obviously, the path of least resistance is the one I'd like to go down. Can anyone help me out with this? * I do understand that the legality of this varies from state to state here in the US.

  • how to setup a ssh acount with no terminal but port forwarding?

    - by admalledd
I am trying to set up a new user account I can give to friends so they can SSH into my forward computer, and only allow forwarding of certain ports. I do not want my friends to have a shell, or be able to change what ports to where they are allowed to forward. example session: joe(friend) connects using PuTTY (that I have pre-set, he isn't good with computers) to example.com(my Internet facing computer) forwarding ports 8080,1990,25565 to him(with what ever end ports he wants, preferably they stay the same numbers) example ssh command to do similar (but he can still change the ports on my computer!) ssh -N [email protected] -p443 -L8080:192.168.1.2:8080 -L1990:127.0.0.1:1990 -L25565:127.0.0.1:25565 then, same story with other friend smith(same ports, same user even) except he is using linux, so cant use putty. is it possible to also leave default SSH functinality for all other users but this one? I found this when I was searching google, but alas, I did not quite understand what was being suggested, and I don't think they covered restricting port forwarding

  • Remember the values entered on standalone app on the client side

    - by kshtjsnghl
We have a standalone java swing app, in which the user can print something that he drew, on a printer by giving its IP. Now the requirement is that the app needs to remember the ip that was given the last time by this user. What I could think of till now is (a brute one though) - keep a log file kind of storage on the client machine, and that everytime the app comes up it reads the last submitted one. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

  • Stop sending packets to private IPs

I have a problem that my server got locked down because it was sending packets to private IPs. My question is, what is the best solution to stop that? • Howto obtain Per-Interface statistics on windows

    - by Canacourse
I am trying to find the most used Network card on windows 200 or XP. I planned to obtain the number of packets sent trough each NIC to determine the main NIC. I thought IP Helper might give me this information but also it looks like the functions in IP helper only give stats for all interfaces. I know this can be done. Any ideas? Many Thanks...

  • access server from blocked machine

    - by user40994
I want to access my Linux server(vnc) from a distant machine which has most ports blocked with the exception of 21, 25, 80, 135, and 445. So, I would like to know if theres a way to communicate with my vnc server on the server, while using an available port on client. i.e. port 25 So I think essentially I need the serverside router to forward packets coming in on port 25 to linux server machine(servername, p5900), which should forward them on to itself on port 5900. And when transmitting, I need the server OR to router to send out packets changing their port to 25. Im totally lost on how to acheive this. Please help(much appreciated). Thanks I do not use smtp.

  • Excel: link value once, then prevent change

    - by user1832164
For some budgeting spreadsheets I'm working on, I'd like to link each month to a value (in this case, a percentage). However, if the original percentage is changed I ONLY want to change values going forward. For example, let's say item one is budgeted at 10%, so each month reflects 10% of the total (which changes every month). If I decide to change that to 12% going forward, I don't want the previously linked values to also change from 10 to 12% (and throw off lots of other numbers). My thought was to have a check box where if I placed an x, the values would be locked to the value at the time of placing the x and no longer change. Is this possible? I know there are options for doing a paste special, but I'm creating this spreadsheet for someone who is not very Excel savvy, so I want it to be as seamless as possible. Many thanks.

  • how can I give openvpn clients access to a dns server (bind9) that is located on the same machine as the openvpn server

    - by lacrosse1991
    I currently have a debian server that is running an openvpn server. I also have a dns server (bind9) that I would like give allow access to by the connected openvpn clients, but I am unsure as of how to do this, I already known how to send dns options to the clients using push "dhcp-option DNS x.x.x.x" but I am just unsure how give the clients access to the dns server that is located on the same machine as the vpn server, so if anyone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Also in case this would have anything to do with adding rules to iptables, this is my current configuration for iptables # Generated by iptables-save v1.4.14 on Thu Oct 18 22:05:33 2012 *nat :PREROUTING ACCEPT [3831842:462225238] :INPUT ACCEPT [3820049:461550908] :OUTPUT ACCEPT [1885011:139487044] :POSTROUTING ACCEPT [1883834:139415168] -A POSTROUTING -s 10.8.0.0/24 -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE COMMIT # Completed on Thu Oct 18 22:05:33 2012 # Generated by iptables-save v1.4.14 on Thu Oct 18 22:05:33 2012 *filter :INPUT ACCEPT [45799:10669929] :FORWARD ACCEPT [0:0] :OUTPUT ACCEPT [45747:10335026] :fail2ban-apache - [0:0] :fail2ban-apache-myadmin - [0:0] :fail2ban-apache-noscript - [0:0] :fail2ban-ssh - [0:0] :fail2ban-ssh-ddos - [0:0] :fail2ban-webserver-w00tw00t - [0:0] -A INPUT -p tcp -m multiport --dports 80,443 -j fail2ban-apache-myadmin -A INPUT -p tcp -m multiport --dports 80,443 -j fail2ban-webserver-w00tw00t -A INPUT -p tcp -m multiport --dports 80,443 -j fail2ban-apache-noscript -A INPUT -p tcp -m multiport --dports 80,443 -j fail2ban-apache -A INPUT -p tcp -m multiport --dports 22 -j fail2ban-ssh-ddos -A INPUT -p tcp -m multiport --dports 22 -j fail2ban-ssh -A INPUT -i tun+ -j ACCEPT -A INPUT -i eth0 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 3306 -j ACCEPT -A FORWARD -i tun+ -j ACCEPT -A FORWARD -m state --state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT -A fail2ban-apache -j RETURN -A fail2ban-apache-myadmin -s 211.154.213.122/32 -j DROP -A fail2ban-apache-myadmin -s 201.170.229.96/32 -j DROP -A fail2ban-apache-myadmin -j RETURN -A fail2ban-apache-noscript -j RETURN -A fail2ban-ssh -s 76.9.59.66/32 -j DROP -A fail2ban-ssh -s 64.13.220.73/32 -j DROP -A fail2ban-ssh -s 203.69.139.179/32 -j DROP -A fail2ban-ssh -s 173.10.11.146/32 -j DROP -A fail2ban-ssh -j RETURN -A fail2ban-ssh-ddos -j RETURN -A fail2ban-webserver-w00tw00t -s 217.70.51.154/32 -j DROP -A fail2ban-webserver-w00tw00t -s 86.35.242.58/32 -j DROP -A fail2ban-webserver-w00tw00t -j RETURN COMMIT # Completed on Thu Oct 18 22:05:33 2012 also here is my openvpn server configuration port 1194 proto udp dev tun ca ca.crt cert server.crt key server.key dh dh1024.pem server 10.8.0.0 255.255.255.0 ifconfig-pool-persist ipp.txt keepalive 10 120 comp-lzo user nobody group users persist-key persist-tun status /var/log/openvpn/openvpn-status.log verb 3 push "redirect-gateway def1" push "dhcp-option DNS 213.133.98.98" push "dhcp-option DNS 213.133.99.99" push "dhcp-option DNS 213.133.100.100" client-to-client

  • Conditional cPanel Forwarder

    - by Wireblue
We have many clients on a cPanel server, some of which also have SSL certificates setup. Each year when the renewals are sent to webmaster@ their domain we would like a copy of those emails so we can install the SSL certifciate for them and issue invoices etc. So I'm wondering if there is a way we can selectively or conditionally forward certain emails if they match certain rules? (in cPanel) I'm thinking: If an email is sent to "webmaster@domain" and the subject contains "ssl", then forward to "[email protected]". Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Wireblue

  • What's the easiest way to parse a string in C?

    - by Luca Matteis
I have to parse this string in C: XFR 3 NS 207.46.106.118:1863 0 207.46.104.20:1863\r\n And be able to get the 207.46.106.118 part and 1863 part (the first ip address). I know I could go char by char and eventually find my way through it, but what's the easiest way to get this information, given that the IP address in the string could change to a different format (with less digits)?

  • Proxy between data centers [closed]

    - by dstarh
Possible Duplicate: Can IIS be configure to forward request to another web server? We are switching data centers (actually datac-center to EC2 to be specific) and some customers have not yet made DNS changes to point the domains to the new load balancers. We are thinking of leaving the existing servers up and just using a proxy server to forward the request to the new load balancer. Can anyone recommend a good proxy server for doing this I've got squid installed but it seems it's fairly easy to just have a fairly wide open proxy server and we don't want this. I want all requests coming in on port 80 to be sent to port 80 at a specific domain (elastic load balancer) the data center env is windows 2k3 and the EC2 env will all be linux but the ec2 env should be irrelevant

  • How host name is broadcasted in a subnet

    - by apalopohapa
Hello. I'm working with Microchip's TCP/IP stack and the host name of my device is not being broadcasted, although I can access it using its DHCP assigned IP. So the question is, what is the protocol that a network device uses to broadcast its host name, so that when I see a list of devices in a network I can identify it by name? Is it the NetBIOS name service or something else? Thanks in advance.

  • DNS lookup fails when forwarding to subdomain

    - by Kitaro
In order to migrate to a new mailserver with little dns problems/downtime, I have set up a second postfix that is currently accessible on a subdomain mx record, eg. the main postfix accepts mail for [email protected] while the second postfix also accepts mail for [email protected]. I added a forwarding rule to postfix saying that postfix should forward mail destined for [email protected] to [email protected] (for regular local delivery) and to [email protected]. Local delivery still works as expected, but when trying forward the mail to the new mx, postfix appeds the domain part at the end of the forwarding address, resulting in [email protected], which of course fails and the mail bounces. Why does postfix mess with the alias name in that way and how can I turn that of?

  • Reverse proxy - how should it be done?

    - by Thomas M.
I have a currently running server with Apache that is working great! However, I want to buy a VPS and use that as a proxy between the user and the "old" server. So the new server's only job is actually to just forward the traffic from the VPS to the old Apache server. How can I achieve this the best way? I've read something about nginx proxy, but don't know if that's what I should use? The IDEAL way (for me) would be to now even touch the running server. I just want to setup the VPS as proxy, forward the DNS to the proxy instead, and let the proxy take over the connection to the primary server. Is that possible? I would really like to hear your opinions about this, and how you would do this (would be happy if you could link me to some tutorial)! :) The VPS is running CentOS and the running/primary is running Debian. Thanks in advance.
