During install we run performance tests and select the best version of routine. Latest processors can boost their frequencies if few cores are in use, so sometimes our tests peeking wrong version of routine. Is there some way to temporarily turn off Turbo Boost?

  • Insert lecture number and page number of lecture in footline

    I am dividing a semester's worth of lectures via the \lecture command. I'd like to have in the footline (among other things) the lecture number, date, and page number of the current lecture. I would also like to use the default style footline, with the black box on the left and the blue on the right. So I define a lecture with e.g. \lecture{January 28, 2010}{lecture01} with \title[Lecture \insertlecturenumber{}(\insertlecture)\quad{}Page \insertframenumber]{Course Title} in the preamble, I get an error; it will not accept \insertlecture there. If I remove \insertlecture, it does what I want, except that the page number is counted from the start of the semester, not the lecture. Is there any way to do this? Thank you. Liam

    I have a process that uses an XmlReader. I have already done a lot to squeeze maximum performance out of it. So far we have had huge gains from using the Reader as opposed to XmlDoc or DataSet.GetXml(). We expect to get XML many times a second and I would like to avoid the overhead of recreating the reader every time. I have already cached the XmlReaderSettings but is there anyway to reuse the XmlReader or do I need to recreate it every time?

    I have a section of code that is producing pour performance and not working as expected. it utilizes the SVProgressHUD from the following github repository at https://github.com/samvermette/SVProgressHUD. I have an area of code where I need to use [NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:request returningResponse:&response error:&error]. I want to have a progress hud displayed before the synchronous request and then dismissed after the request has finished. It displays immediately after the synchronous request happens, unfortunatly this is also when it is dismissed. The behaviour displayed to the user is that the app hangs, waits for the synchronous request to finish, quickly flashes the HUB and then becomes responsive again. How can I fix this issue? I want the SVProgressHUB to be displayed during this hang time, how can I do this?

    How do I start validation from the client/javascript using the MS MVC Validation library? Using MS ASP.Net MVC, I have a page with a PartialView in a modal dialog (change password). When the user selects 'save', I need to validate this on the client side without a full page postback. I am able in JS to post and refresh the partialView, however I am unable to start client validation. The MS MVC validation starts on postback (Input type='submit'). How can I start this in JS?     I need an algorithm that allows me to determine an appropriate <priority> field for my website's sitemap based on the page's views and comments count. For those of you unfamiliar with sitemaps, the priority field is used to signal the importance of a page relative to the others on the same website. It must be a decimal number between 0 and 1. The algorithm will accept two parameters, viewCount and commentCount, and will return the priority value. For example: GetPriority(100000, 100000); // Damn, a lot of views/comments! The returned value will be very close to 1, for example 0.995 GetPriority(3, 2); // Ok not many users are interested in this page, so for example it will return 0.082

  • ASP.net post and default page.

    Scenario: I have a regular aspx page with a form. When someone clicks a button the form submitted via post like normal. HOWEVER. The page where the form resides is the default page(Default.aspx). So when someone goes to the site: http://site.com/ and submits the forms he gets redirected to http://site.com/default.aspx. I tried setting the action of the form to http://site.com/. However asp.net does not allow to use root urls with a POST. So is there any workaround? Ajax is not an option.

    I have a drupal page (content type page) that should accept GET values using clean urls. I put the following code in the page body using the php code input format. <?php $uid = $_GET['uid']; $user = user_load($uid); print $user->name; ?> Now the following link http://www.example.com/mypath/?uid=5 results in user 5's name being displayed. Great. My question is: Can this be accomplished using clean urls such that going to http://www.example.com/mypath/5 has the same result? (Similar to using arguments in views)

    Hello, I have a page called guestbook.php in which contains $('#guest_form').ajaxForm({}); When the form is triggered it goes to a save.php page which contains and values inserted if($_POST['x']){ $xx = $_POST['x']; $yy = $_POST['y']; $zz = $_POST['z']; $query_one = "INSERT INTO xxx (x1,yl,z1,z2) values ('$xx','$yy','$zz','00000')"; mysql_select_db($database_1, $1); $Result = mysql_query($query_guest_one, $1) or die(mysql_error()); So far so good. Now I run a select query based on the insert and display it in a div on the guestbook.php page. That is where I cannot do it. All help appreciated. Thanks Jean

    Hi, I'm working on a FBML fan page for a client. I need to perform a check to see if the current user is a fan of the page. I tried using the JavaScript API but I've found this is not compatible with FBML. I have looked through the FBML page on the developer wiki and found checks for practically everything else but no is user fan check. Any pointers in the right direction would be most appreciated.   • CSS 100% Height, and then Scroll DIV not page

    Okay so I haven't been able to find a question with an answer yet, so I decided to make my own. I am trying to create a 100% fluid layout, which technically I have done. http://stickystudios.ca/sandbox/stickyplanner/layout/index2.php BUT, what I want it to now do, is make the page 100% in HEIGHT... But I don't want the page to scroll I want the inner DIV to scroll. So I believe in short I want it to detect the height of the viewport screen, go 100%, and then IF content is longer then the screen, scroll the specific DIV, NOT the page. I hope this makes sense. On this page I am trying to get the Album name, Song title, download link and the album image.     I am trying to get the page or last directory name from a url for example if the url is: http://www.example.com/dir/ i want it to return dir or if the passed url is http://www.example.com/page.php I want it to return page Notice I do not want the trailing slash or file extension. I tried this: $regex = "/.*\.(com|gov|org|net|mil|edu)/([a-z_\-]+).*/i"; $name = strtolower(preg_replace($regex,"$2",$url)); I ran this regex in PHP and it returned nothing. (however I tested the same regex in ActionScript and it worked!) So what am I doing wrong here, how do I get what I want? Thanks!!!

  • Working with DataBinding and Page_Load in ASP.NET MVP

    I'm using WebForms MVP to create some simple reporting applications. Most of these applications consist of a few search criteria inputs and a ComponentArt datagrid that I'm populating with data from the database. Most of the markup is in a UserControl, which is in a content page with a master page. My problem is that the control's Page_Load event is firing before the control events that caused the postback in the first place. Basically, the user clicks the search button, and Page_Load is fired BEFORE Search_Click. This is messing with the databinding scheme I've been using. So that's the question: Why is my Page_Load event firing before the event handler, and what can I do about it? I don't THINK this problem is related to WebForms MVP or ComponentArt, but obviously I could be wrong. Thanks.

As I know, I've to call makeTransliteratable(elementIds, opt_options) method in the API call to define which input fields to make transliteratable, and in my case here I can't predefine those fields manually.     I create some dynamic report. by default, create a table with all available field and hidden by expression, therefore column hide when user want (by checkbox in aspx page) problem: my report is "right to left" therefore when hiding some column, report must shown from right, but as you know, when report render, it create table column from left, my question is how to render report from right ???? for solving this problem i create some column without data and set hidden expression != main column hidden state, therefore my problem solved but found another problem, report width!!! because page width really must 8.5in but when hiding some column, page Width not decrease and remain 15in!!! how to solve this problem ??? I will add 20-50 DrawingVisuals in this FrameworkElement ,every DrawingVisual will have 2000 line segments.The logic value of these points between 0 to 60000.when I zoom into 1:1 the FrameworkElement 's Height will be 60000, the rending time will be 15 minutes!! How do I improve the rending performance ?

But when I click, the vote number can not be updated immediately.
