• How did My Object Get into ASP.NET Page State?

  I know what this error is, how to fix it, etc. My question is that I don't know why my current page I am developing is throwing this error when I am not using the foo class directly in any way, nor am I setting anything to the viewstate. I am using postbacks alot, but like I said, I am not storing anything in the viewstate etc one integer. I am using nhibernate if that is relevant. Any idea why I need to mark this classes as serializable that arent being used? Where should I start investigating? • How can I prevent text displacement for some foreign language fonts?

  I have a multilingual project (currently 13 languages), which uses many different font variations of "Helvetica Neue", mostly bold, condensed and regular cuts from the LinoType Pro font set ( which includes western european characters) and the same for cyrillic. We will probably add chinese and japanese variations in the future. I have set up the project to use different CSS stylesheets and separately load the fonts for each version, depending on which language the user selects, so I can have different line heights, kerning and/or font sizes to make everything keep the original look, even if the fonts look nothing alike. All of this works well, except for one problem: For some reason, all cyrillic letters seem to be displaced. They appear 2-3 pixels below the correct base line, and actually protrude across the textfield's bottom border, even when the field is set to autosize. When I use textfield.getCharBoundaries(), all values seem to be correct, even though they obviously aren't rendered correctly. To make everything look neat, I could of course manually move all problematic textfields up or down according to language and font size, but I was wondering if there was some way to prevent or at least detect this kind of displacement in order to automatically handle the adjustments - the Flash Player should have some sort of information on how things are rendered, shouldn't it? Have any of you had similar problems? Or better yet: a solution?

• Evaluate an expression tree

  Hi, This project that I'm working on requires that an expression tree be constructed from a string of single digit operands and operators both represented as type char. I did the implmentation and the program up to that point works fine. I'm able to print out the inorder, preorder and postorder traversals in the correct way. The last part calls for evaulating the expression tree. The parameters are an expression tree "t" and its root "root". The expression tree is ((3+2)+(6+2)) which is equal to 13. Instead I get 11 as the answer. Clearly I'm missing something here and I've done everything short of bashing my head against the desk. I would greatly appreciate it if someone can point me in the right direction. • JavaScript Keycode 46 is DEL Function key or (.) period sign?

  Im writing some logic in JavaScript using jquery, where i must check the input content against a REGEX pattern ex: "^[a-zA-Z0-9_]*$" //Alpha-numeric and _ The logic is almost done, i just have a little problem filtering the function key DEL, my logic goes like this: var FunctionsKey = new Array(8, 9, 13, 16, 35, 36, 37, 39, 46); function keypressValidation(key) { if (config.regexExp != null) { if ($.inArray(key, FunctionsKey) != -1) { return true; } else { var keyChar = String.fromCharCode(key); return RegexCheck(keyChar); } } return true; } If the KeyCode is one of those in the array, i let it pass, if not i get the char and compare it against the REGEX. The problem is: in some Browsers the DEL and '.' (period sign) have the same key Code 46. So is there a better logic to filter the function keys or must i write a condition for that case, maybe removing the 46 from the array and try to convert it to char and if is (.) let it go to the Regex function if not let it pass? The other question will be are there more shared Key Codes in some browsers? EDIT: My suggested solution wont work because it doesn't matter which key the user pressed (DEL or period) i always get (.) as CHAR at least on OPERA and FF =(.

• Parsing data from txt file in J2ME

  Basically I'm creating an indoor navigation system in J2ME. I've put the location details in a .txt file i.e. Locations names and their coordinates. Edges with respective start node and end node as well as the weight (length of the node). I put both details in the same file so users dont have to download multiple files to get their map working (it could become time consuming and seem complex). So what i did is to seperate the deferent details by typing out location Names and coordinates first, After that I seperated that section from the next section which is the edges by drawing a line with multiple underscores. Now the problem I'm having is parsing the different details into seperate arrays by setting up a command (while manually tokenizing the input stream) to check wether the the next token is an underscore. If it is, (in pseudocode terms), move to the next line in the stream, create a new array and fill it up with the next set of details. I found a some explanation/code HERE that does something similar but still parses into one array, although it manually tokenizes the input. Any ideas on what to do? • WP7 - group of textboxes into some sort of template?

  I'm still pretty new at Silverlight so there might be a way to do this, but I'm just unfamiliar with the terminology... I basically have this grouping of textboxes and textblocks and I would like to repeat this same grouping whenever the addNew button is clicked. Is there a way to do this by creating some sort of template? • Show iPad keyboard on select, focus or always (jQuery)

  I have a web app that is using jQuery to replace the RETURN key with TAB so that when I user presses return the form is not submitted but rather the cursor moves to the next text field. This works in all browsers but only 1/2 works on the iPad. On the iPad the next field is highlighted but the keyboard is hidden. How can I keep the keyboard visible or force it somehow?   I have written a Perl script that runs as a daily crontab job that uploads files to Amazon S3 via CURL. I want the output of the cron job emailed to me which works fine but I don't want that email to include messages related to the CURL upload (only those message my script is outputting). In my particular case I use 4 digits (1,2,3,4) and the length of the last number can be from 1 to 10. I managed to do it in Python and PHP. In the first case I used list over lists. • "Function object is unsubscriptable" in basic integer to string mapping function

  I'm trying to write a function to return the word string of any number less than 1000. Everytime I run my code at the interactive prompt it appears to work without issue but when I try to import wordify and run it with a test number higher than 20 it fails as "TypeError: 'function' object is unsubscriptable". • mscomctl.ocx on my dev machine gives me problems since security patch of MS

  I am busy on this problem since 2 days ago and hope someone can get me out of it. I have Excel 2010 (full install 944Mb) on my Windows 8 computer. It works well. But when I modify my workbook (containing a ListView version 6.0) I am not able to run it on my client's computer. I get the error: Could Not Load An Object. Not Available on This Machine. Even it works well on my dev machine. The reason is: Microsoft applied a Security Patch (near august 2012 I think) on mscomctl.ocx and my Excel 2010 installation files (downloaded not long ago) contains the new version of mscomctl.ocx. The clients using my Excel file don't apply the security patch at this moment. Se everytime I publish my Excel file to client's computers (from my dev environment), I reference the new mscomctl.ocx. That's the problem. I already try to get the old mscomctl.ocx from client's computer and copy & register it on my dev machine but then I got errors (Class not registered, ...) when I create a userform and drag a listview on it. So: mscomctl.ocx on client's machine is version 6.1.98.13 from 2008. mscomctl.ocx on my dev machine is version 6.1.98.34 from 2012. My question: Does someone have an idea how to proceed to have a usable version of mscomctl.ocx on my dev machine? Thank you very much.

• Slow Response in checkbox using JQuery

  Hi to all. I'm trying to optimize a website. The flow is i tried to query a certain table and all of its data entry in a page(w/ toolbars), work fine. When i tried to edit the page the problem is when i click the checkbox button i have to wait 2-5sec just by clicking it. I limit the viewing of entry to 5 only but the response on checkbox doesn't change. • Browser timing out attempting to load images

  I've got a page on a webapp that has about 13 images that are generated by my application, which is written in the Kohana PHP framework. The images are actually graphs. They are cached so they are only generated once, but the first time the user visits the page, and the images all have to be generated, about half of the images don't load in the browser. Once the page has been requested once and images are cached, they all load successfully. Doing some ad-hoc testing, if I load an individual image in the browser, it takes from 450-700 ms to load with an empty cache (I checked this using Google Chrome's resource tracking feature). For reference, it takes around 90-150 ms to load a cached image. Even if the image cache is empty, I have the data and some of the application's startup tasks cached, so that after the first request, none of that data needs to be fetched. My questions are: Why are the images failing to load? It seems like the browser just decides not to download the image after a certain point, rather than waiting for them all to finish loading. What can I do to get them to load the first time, with an empty cache? Obviously one option is to decrease the load times, and I could figure out how to do that by profiling the app, but are there other options? As I mentioned, the app is in the Kohana PHP framework, and it's running on Apache. As an aside, I've solved this problem for now by fetching the page as soon as the data is available (it comes from a batch process), so that the images are always cached by the time the user sees them. That feels like a kludgey solution to me, though, and I'm curious about what's actually going on.
