• Determining where in the code an error came from - iPhone

  I'm used to Java programming where an error is thrown and it tells you at what line the error was thrown from which file. But with Objective-C in XCode, I can't ever tell where the error comes from. How can I figure out where the error came from? • NHibernate class referencing discriminator based subclass

  I have a generic class Lookup which contains code/value properties. The table PK is category/code. There are subclasses for each category of lookup, and I've set the discriminator column in the base class and its value in the subclass. See example below (only key pieces shown): public class Lookup { public string Category; public string Code; public string Description; } public class LookupClassMap { CompositeId() .KeyProperty(x = x.Category, "CATEGORY_ID") .KeyProperty(x = x.Code, "CODE_ID"); DiscriminateSubclassesBasedOnColumn("CATEGORY_ID"); } public class MaritalStatus: Lookup {} public class MartialStatusClassMap: SubclassMap { DiscriminatorValue(13); } This all works. Here's the problem. When a class has a property of type MaritalStatus, I create a reference based on the contained code ID column ("MARITAL_STATUS_CODE_ID"). NHibernate doesn't like it because I didn't map both primary key columns (Category ID & Code ID). But with the Reference being of type MaritalStatus, NHibernate should already know what the value of the category ID is going to be, because of the discriminator value. What am I missing?

• http post request with cross-origin in javascript

  i have a problem with a http post call in firefox. I know that when there are a cross origin, firefox first do a OPTIONS before the POST to know the access-control-allow headers. With this code i dont have any problem: Net.requestSpeech.prototype.post = function(url, data) { if(this.xhr != null) { this.xhr.open("POST", url); this.xhr.onreadystatechange = Net.requestSpeech.eventFunction; this.xhr.setRequestHeader("Content-Type", "application/json; charset=utf-8"); this.xhr.send(data); } } I test this code with a simple html that invokes this function. Everything is ok and i have the response of the OPTIONS and POST, and i process the response. But, i'm trying to integrate this code with an existen application with uses jquery (i dont know if this is a problem), when the send(data) executes in this case, the browser (firefox) do the same, first do a OPTION request, but in this case dont receive the response of the server and puts this message in console: [18:48:13.529] OPTIONS http://localhost:8111/ [undefined 31ms] Undefined... the undefined is because dont receive the response, but the code is the same, i dont know why in this case the option dont receive the response, someone have an idea? i debug my server app and the OPTIONS arrive ok to the server, but it seems like the browser dont wait to the response. edit more later: ok i think that the problem is when i run with a simple html with a SCRIPT tag that invokes the method who do the request run ok, but in this app that dont receive the response, i have a form that do a onsubmit event, i think that the submit event returns very fast and the browser dont have time to get the OPTIONS request. edit more later later: WTF, i resolve the problem make the POST request to sync: this.xhr.open("POST", url, false); The submit reponse very quickly and can't wait to the OPTION response of the browser, any idea to this?

  I am generating a table dynamically using Django. The same table template is used to generate a variety of tables depending on the data supplied. In one scenario a particular column contains image tags. Since my table is editable (using jquery) the image cell also becomes editable and removes my content. I want some special behavior on double click of such cells like say upload an image. How do I accomplish this with a jquery?   I am trying to solve a problem I have inherited with poor treatment of different data sources. I have a user table that contains BOTH good and evil users. create table `users`( `user_id` int(13) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT , `email` varchar(255) , `name` varchar(255) , PRIMARY KEY (`user_id`) ); In this table the primary key is currently set to be user_id. I have another table ('users_evil') which contains ONLY the evil users (all the users from this table are included in the first table) - the user_id's on this table do NOT correspond to those in the first table. I want to have all my users in one table, and simply flag which are good and which are evil. What I want to do is alter the user table and add a column ('evil') which defaults to 0. I then want to dump the data from my 'users_evil') table and then run an INSERT..ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE with this data into the first table (setting 'evil'=1 where the emails match) The problem is that the 'PK' is set to the user_id and not the 'email'. Any suggestions, or even another strategy to successfully achive this. Can I run this statement but treat another column as PK only for the duration of the statement.

  i have the following code as i want to search a database as a user is typing into a textbox. This code below works fine but it seems a little inefficient as if a user is typing really fast, i am potentially doing many more searches than necessary. • Can you override just part of a control template in silverlight

  Is it possible to change or modify a specific part of a control template without having to recreate the entire control template of the control in the xaml? For example, I was trying to get rid of the border of a textbox, so I could throw together a basic search box with rounded corners (example xaml below). Setting the borderthickness to 0 works fine, until you mouse over the textbox and a pseudo border they added to the control flashes up. If I look at the controltemplate for the textbox, I can even see the visual state is named, but cannot think of how to disable it.   Say I have a list of integers: List<int> myInts = new List<int>() {1,2,3,5,8,13,21}; I would like to get the next available integer, ordered by increasing integer. Not the last or highest one, but in this case the next integer that is not in this list. In this case the number is 4. Is there a LINQ statement that would give me this? As in: var nextAvailable = myInts.SomeCoolLinqMethod(); Edit: Crap. I said the answer should be 2 but I meant 4. I apologize for that! For example: Imagine that you are responsible for handing out process IDs. You want to get the list of current process IDs, and issue a next one, but the next one should not just be the highest value plus one. Rather, it should be the next one available from an ordered list of process IDs. You could get the next available starting with the highest, it does not really matter.

  Hi, I have written an algorithm which iteratively solves the problem. The first iteration consists of 6 steps and all the following iterations consist of 5 steps (first step is skipped). What I want to calculate is the current (local) step in the iteration from current global step. For example if there are 41 steps in total which means there are 8 iterations: indices from 1 to 6 belong to 1st iteration indices from 7 to 11 belong to second iteration ... For calculating the current iteration I have written the following code: if(currentStep <= 6) iteration = 1; else iteration = floor((currentStep - 7)/5) + 2; end The problem remains in calculating local steps. in first iteration the performed steps are: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 in all the following iterations the performing steps are 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 So what has to be done is to transform the array of global steps [1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 ... 41] into array of local steps [1 2 3 4 5 6 2 3 4 5 6 2 3 ... 6]. I would appreciate if anyone could help in finding the solution to a given problem. Thank you!

  I have a simple Rails 3.b1 (Ruby 1.9.1) application running on Sqlite3. • Detecting the axis of rotation from a pointcloud

  I'm trying to auto-detect the axis of rotation on a 3d pointcloud. In other words, if I took a small 3d pointcloud, chose a single axis of rotation, and make several copies of the points at different rotation angles, then I get a larger pointcloud. The input to my algorithm is the larger pointcloud, and the desired output is the single axis of symmetry. And eventually I'm going to compute the correspondences between points that are rotations of each other. The size of the larger pointcloud is on the order of 100K points, and the number of rotational copies made is unknown. The rotation angles in my case have constant deltas, but don't necessarily span 360 degrees. For example, I might have 0, 20, 40, 60. Or I might have 0, 90, 180, 270. But I won't have 0, 13, 78, 212 (or if I do, I don't care to detect it). This seems like a computer vision problem, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to precisely find the axis. The input will generally be very clean, close to float accuracy.

• casting char[][] to char** causes segfault?

  Ok my C is a bit rusty but I figured I'd make my next(small) project in C so I could polish back up on it and less than 20 lines in I already have a seg fault. This is my complete code: #define ROWS 4 #define COLS 4 char main_map[ROWS][COLS+1]={ "a.bb", "a.c.", "adc.", ".dc."}; void print_map(char** map){ int i; for(i=0;i<ROWS;i++){ puts(map[i]); //segfault here } } int main(){ print_map(main_map); //if I comment out this line it will work. puts(main_map[3]); return 0; } I am completely confused as to how this is causing a segfault. What is happening when casting from [][] to **!? That is the only warning I get. rushhour.c:23:3: warning: passing argument 1 of ‘print_map’ from incompatible pointer type rushhour.c:13:7: note: expected ‘char **’ but argument is of type ‘char (*)[5]’ Are [][] and ** really not compatible pointer types? They seem like they are just syntax to me.

  Hi, I am a teaching assistant of a introductory programming course, and some students made this type of error: char name[20]; scanf("%s",&name); which is not surprising as they are learning... What is surprising is that, besides gcc warning, the code works (at least this part). I suspect it is because I cannot get the address of an array (as I cannot have & &x), but in this case the code should not compile.

  Being new to this i realy am trying to learn how to keep code as simple as possible, whilst doing the job its supposed to. The question i have done is from project eulur, it says Each new term in the Fibonacci sequence is generated by adding the previous two terms. By starting with 1 and 2, the first 10 terms will be: 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, ... Find the sum of all the even-valued terms in the sequence which do not exceed four million. Here is my code below, i was wondering what the best way of simplifying this would be, for a start removing all of the .get(list.length()-1 )..... stuff would be a good start if possible but i dont really no how to?
