Retrieving JSON from a web URL

This may be a terribly uninformed question, brace yourself. A company I'm working with has given an 'API' that I can use to access orders, however, there are only two real commands, getorders and getorderdetails. These commands are put in the format of http://www.server.com/path/to/the/orderapi/getorders/UniqueKey/ If I go to that web address, I'm prompted for a username and password, and once authenticating, get presented with a page of JSON formatted order details, contained in the body of the html page. I would like a service to check this information and create orders in our crm based on it, is there an obvious way to access it without the browser/client interaction?

Is there a way of using one method to handle others to avoid code duplication?

I wonder if there is a way of writing a method or a class that would add to any method some code that is shared between many methods. Intercept POS print instruction, capture the text content and send it to the printer

I would like intercept print instruction from POS sytems, capture the text content(as I need to use this) and send it to the printer. And would also like to use a program with OPOS standards, so that it will work with all kinds of POS system. I looked into MS POS .Net and and samples from MONORECS and still not clear on how to accomplish this. If some body can shed some light on how to achieve this, setting up a test system, where can I learn more about this and give some directions that will be great.

rdlc - phantom page break, what to check?

I have a RDLC report which has some controls on the first page, which are inside a rectangle and which display ok. Beneath the rectangle, i have a matrix, which spans more than one page both in width and in height. I want the matrix to start rendering on the second page. If I enable "insert break before" on the matrix, there is an extra blank page before the matrix(in print layout), which is my problem. If I reduce the amount of data, so the matrix does not span more than one page in width, there is no blank page, and all is well. I checked the Page and Body sizes, they are ok. Any tips? This has been driving me crazy all day, what can I check? Thx

overflow hidden not working on touch device

I have a problem with overflow:hidden on a touch device. Basically I have my html and body on overflow:hidden. With a contact form outside(bottom) of the window. On clicking a button this form will animate in. This is so far working great on desktop browsers. But on touch devices, I seem to be able to scroll down and view the form. I can't seem to find solutions after much googling. Is there anyway to force overflow:hidden on touch devices? Any help much appreciated!

What is the best method to set cross-browser consistence typography (font-size and line height) for whole site using em for Fixed width {Width:970px}, centered website? I usually get design from client with multiple font size and line heights at various places in design. for some good reason i still use em without getting nested element problem and font-size inconsistencies in IE and others. then after setting how to manage and update easily ,and how to calculate ems I want to set easily manageable font sizes and I want to set Line height manually (because it can be different for various places in design. And for which things we should define line-height or for which not? How to set font-size and line-height to get consistent result. and if i'm using em for font-sizing then should i also use bottom-margin of h1, p, li etc in em? For example If I have a drop down like <select> <option value="0" regionId="1">Test1</option> <option value="1" regionId="2">Test2</option> </select> Here regionId is a custom attribute, I am able to access the attribute but the W3C HTML validation is failing. send dbmail on @@error from sql server 2005

Hi, I am trying to send database mail when error occurs inside the transaction.My setup for dbo.sp_send_dbmail is correct , when I execute the proc I do get an email within 1 min. However when I try to use dbo.sp_send_dbmail inside another proc within transactions than I do not get the email. Sql server does show in the result window that "Mail queued" but I never receive it. The fragment below works if I use "name_dialog" or "share_dialog", but not if I use "compose_dialog". I've looked through the source and style sheets, but have not found where those two are defined any differently than what I'm trying to do. JetBrains dotTrace, is it possible to profile source code line by line? else I need another tool

I am using JetBrains dotTrace, I've profiled my app which is entirely CPU bound. But the results as you walk down the tree don't sum to the level above in the tree, I only see method calls not the body lines of the node in questions method. Is it possible to profile the source code line by line. i.e for one node: SimulatePair() 99.04% --nextUniform() 30.12% --IDCF() 24.08% So the method calls nextUniform + IDCF use 54% of the time in SimulatePair (or 54% total execution time I'm not sure how to read this) regardless what is happening the other 46% of SimulatePair I need some detail on a line by line basis. Any help or alternative tools is much appreciated. Thanks

I checkthe directory permissions; /usr/share/puppet, /etc/puppet and /var/lib/puppet (and files inside them) are owned by puppet user. Solved The simple solution to my complicated problem was that I had placed the config.ru in wrong place moved it to /etc/puppet/rack , it was in /etc/puppet/rack/public Well!!! :-/

DECLARE item tbusiness_inter_item_bag; BEGIN item.system_event_cd := 'ABC'; END; This also raises the same error: item.item_id := 3; But if i change my object type into: CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE tbusiness_inter_item_bag AS OBJECT ( item_id NUMBER(1), system_event_cd VARCHAR2 (20), CONSTRUCTOR FUNCTION tbusiness_inter_item_bag RETURN SELF AS RESULT ); then the last statement raises no more error (where my "item" is still uninitialized): item.item_id := 3; Shouldn't i get the same ORA-06530 error? ps: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bi

Changing the cursor in asp.net

I want to change the cursor to an hourglass in my asp.net application to let my users know that the process is running. I searched for an answer and was advised to use javascript as follows. 1) Add this javascript function hourglass() { document.body.style.cursor = "wait"; } 2) then in my code in the page load event: btnImport.Attributes.Add("onclick", "javascript: hourglass();"); When btnImport is the button they click on However this does not work. But if I add an alert to the hourglass function. it does work. Is there some way to get this to work without the alert. Thanks in advance. Bob Avallone

Hi there, I want to send an email with an attachment using the following code (Python 3.1) (greatly simplified to show the example) from email.mime.multipart import MIMEMultipart from email.mime.text import MIMEText msg = MIMEMultipart() msg['From'] = from_addr msg['To'] = to_addr msg['Subject'] = subject msg.attach(MIMEText(body)) fp = open(att_file) msg1 = MIMEText(fp.read()) attachment = msg1.add_header('Content-Disposition', 'attachment', filename=att_file) msg.attach(attachment) # set string to be sent as 3rd parameter to smptlib.SMTP.sendmail() send_string = msg.as_string() The attachment object msg1 returns 'email.mime.text.MIMEText' object at ', but when the msg1.add_header(...) line runs the result is None, hence the program falls-over in msg.as_string() because no part of the attachment can have a None value. (Traceback shows "'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_content_maintype'" in line 118 of _dispatch in generator.py, many levels down from msg.as_string()) Has anyone any idea what the cause of the problem might be? im creating a website which includes a button (JPEG image) that will locate ('a ref') a php file. Inverted index in a search engine

Hello there, I'm trying to write some code to make a small application for searching text from files. Files should be crawled, and I need to put an inverted index to boost searches. My problem is that I kind of have ideas about how the parser would be, I'm willing to implement the AND, NOT, OR in the query. Whereas, I couldn't figure out how my index should be... I have never created an inverted index so if any body could suggest a feasable way to do it I would be very grateful... I do know in theory how it works but my problem is I absolutely have no idea to make happen in MySql I need to give keywords being indexed a weight too... Thank you so much.

Link to audio in XHTML/EPUB

I'm looking into synchronizing an ebook in epub format (so the content is in XHTML) to an audio file. I'm thinking of putting something along the lines of: <a class="audiolink" href="sound.ogg?t=1093"></a> into the body of the document, and then have a custom epub reader that recognizes those tags and synchronizes the audio accordingly. That does seem like a bit of a hack to me though, especially the use of a special class name. Does anyone have any pointers to how this may be done in a more standards-compliant manner (or somewhere where it has been done before)? Ebooks with audio annotation seem like an idea that may already be out there.
