• How to monitor a POP, SMTP and Exchange Server for mail activity

  We need to write a .Net (C#) application that monitors all mail activity through a POP, SMTP and Exchange Server (2007 and later) and essentially grab the mail for archiving into a document management system. I realise that the way to monitor each type of server would probably be different so I'd like to know what the best (most elegant and reliable) way is to achieve this. Thanks.

Most of the resources I've found mention VS 2008 Pro, and this SO answer mentions that VSTO is not even included in Standard. Is creating custom ribbon buttons possible using Visual Studio 2008 Standard? If so, where should I start?

  In sharepoint 2007 sites, we can search for people or other contents. Is the search engine able to do fuzzy match so that "Micheal" can be corrected to "Michael"? If it's possible, does it need extra configuration? I am also writing a custom webpart that uses sharepoint search service, a web service that has url like "http://site/_vti_bin/search.asm".   Looking at the Nant and Nantcontrib repositories at Sourceforge I noticed that the last release of Nant is from December 7th 2007 and the latest release of Nantcontrib is from October 15th 2006! So, is it looks like the development of these tools has stalled for a while. Is anyone still working on those tools? I've been working on a Office automation project and find it frustrating to work with Powerpoint in particular since it seems to be one level below VBA support found in Excel or Word. It feels like MS is trying to phase out support for VBA in PPT since they dropped macro recording in version 2007 and the object model lacks some key features support.
