  • Zend Framework - How do make a hierarchy without it being a module?

    Here is my specific issue. I want to make an api level which then under that you can select which method you will use. For example: test.com/api/rest test.com/api/xmlprc Currently I have api mapping to a module directory. I then setup a route to make it a rest route. test.com/api is a rest route, but I would rather have it be test.com/api/rest. This would allow me later to add others. In Bootstrap.php: $front = Zend_Controller_Front::getInstance(); $router = $front->getRouter(); $route = new Zend_Controller_Router_Route( 'api/:module/:controller/:id/*', array('module' =>'default') ); $router-addRoute('api', $route); $restRoute = new Zend_Rest_Route($front, array(), array( 'rest' )); $router-addRoute('rest', $restRoute); return $router; In application.ini: resources.frontController.moduleDirectory = APPLICATION_PATH "/modules" I know it will involve routes, but sometimes I find the Zend Framework documentation to be a little hard to follow. When I go to test.com/rest/controller/ it works how it should, but if I go to test.com/api/rest/ it tells me that my module is api and controller is rest.

  • Odd Things of ASP.NET MVC Deployment on IIS 6

    Recently, I am a bit interested in the deployment of ASP.NET MVC application on IIS6 because Phil Haack posted an easier way to deploy ASP.NET MVC application on ASP.NET 4. So I decided to see how different version of ASP.NET MVC works on different version of ASP.NET. First off, I created an ASP.NET MVC 2 project in Visual Studio 2010 and deploy it to IIS 6 on Windows Server 2003 (only .NET framework 3.5 installed). I set the application to run in ASP.NET 2.0 and no extra stuff. Because I just wanted to see what sort of error would occur. And as expected, some error was reported as following. Then, I set the Copy Local attribute of System.Web.Mvc assembly to true as following and deploy again. As a result, the application ran smoothly. I had read tons of materials talked about the mess of deploying MVC application on IIS 6. And I did fight to tackle the deploying issues in my previous project. At least, if had used Extensionless Url in your application, you should have configured wildcard mapping in IIS. But in this case, I even didn’t have chance to do so. What the heck was going on exactly? Did I discover a new continent?

  • if a JAR is placed on app servers's classpath how do we reference it from JSP

    On our application we are getting an error saying: PWC6117: File "/struts-tags" not found code in the file thats giving error is: <%@ taglib prefix="s" uri="/struts-tags" %> This file is in struts2-core.jar which is placed on the classpath of the app server (Sun 9.1). The code will work fine and not complain when the jar is actually in WEB-INF/lib of the application, compared to being on classpath of the appserver. But we can not change that. it has to be on appservers classpath. But how should we change our code so that this error goes away? I can create mapping in my web.xml so that tag uri's are change. but what should taglib-location be changed to? so that it references to app servers classpath? <taglib> <taglib-uri>/WEB-INF/struts-tags.tld</taglib-uri> <taglib-location>/WEB-INF/struts-tags.tld</taglib-location> </taglib>

    I am currently implementing a credit card processing script, most as provided by the merchant gateway. The code calls functions within a class and returns a string based on the response.     I'm pretty sure it's possible to call a class and its member function dynamically in Delphi, but I can't quite seem to make it work. Clarification/Additional Information: What I'm trying to accomplish is to create a Change Notification system between business classes. Class A registers to be notified of changes in Class B, and the system stores a mapping of Class A - Class B. Then, when a Class B object changes, the system will call a A.Foo() to process the change. I'd like the notification system to not require any hard-coded classes if possible. There will always be a Foo() for any class that registers for notification. Maybe this can't be done or there's a completely different and better approach to my problem. By the way, this is not exactly an "Observer" design pattern because it's not dealing with objects in memory. Managing changes between related persistent data seems like a standard problem to be solved, but I've not found very much discussion about it. Again, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.     I've got a simple list page with a couple of search filters status which is a simple enumeration and a test query which I want to compare against both the title and description field of my model. In my controller, I want to do something like this: def index conditions = {} conditions[:status] = params[:status] if params[:status] and !params[:status].empty? conditions[???] = ["(descr = ? or title = ?)", params[:q], params[:q]] if params[:q] and !params[:q].empty? @items = Item.find(:all, :conditions => conditions) end Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I can mix the two types of conditions (the hash and the paramatized version).     I have a user document which has a group field. This field is an array of group ids. I would like to write a view that returns (groupid as key) - (array of user docs as val).   • Avoiding instanceof in Java

    Having a chain of "instanceof" operations is considered a "code smell". The standard answer is "use polymorphism". How would I do it in this case? There are a number of subclasses of a base class; none of them are under my control. An analogous situation would be with the Java classes Integer, Double, BigDecimal etc. if (obj instanceof Integer) {NumberStuff.handle((Integer)obj);} else if (obj instanceof BigDecimal) {BigDecimalStuff.handle((BigDecimal)obj);} else if (obj instanceof Double) {DoubleStuff.handle((Double)obj);} I do have control over NumberStuff and so on. I don't want to use many lines of code where a few lines would do. (Sometimes I make a HashMap mapping Integer.class to an instance of IntegerStuff, BigDecimal.class to an instance of BigDecimalStuff etc. But today I want something simpler.) I'd like something as simple as this: public static handle(Integer num) { ... } public static handle(BigDecimal num) { ... } But Java just doesn't work that way. I'd like to use static methods when formatting. The things I'm formatting are composite, where a Thing1 can contain an array Thing2s and a Thing2 can contain an array of Thing1s. I had a problem when I implemented my formatters like this: class Thing1Formatter { private static Thing2Formatter thing2Formatter = new Thing2Formatter(); public format(Thing thing) { thing2Formatter.format(thing.innerThing2); } } class Thing2Formatter { private static Thing1Formatter thing1Formatter = new Thing1Formatter(); public format(Thing2 thing) { thing1Formatter.format(thing.innerThing1); } } Yes, I know the HashMap and a bit more code can fix that too. But the "instanceof" seems so readable and maintainable by comparison. Is there anything simple but not smelly?

  • Can't connect to DeploymentShare$ from PC attempting to MDT, but can other PCs on the network

    I am in the process of setting up MDT and have run across a problem. MDT is installed on a Windows 2012 server, MDT version 6.2.5019.0. Using WDS as well. Active Directory domain, the server is up to date and on the network. I boot up the PC, it gets an address from DHCP, pulls down the LiteTouchPE_x64.wim image and goes into the MS Solution Accelerators screen, the Processing Bootstrap Settings box comes up and processes for a couple of seconds, then goes away, it sits there for another minute or so and then gives the error: A connection to the deployment share (\\Acme-MDT\DeploymentShare$) could not be made. Can not reach the DeployRoot. Possible Cause: Network Routing error or Network Configuration Error." I can then retry or cancel. I have seen this error online but so far nothing that helps fix it, but seems to be an issue with the FQDN. I verified that I am getting an IP address and that I can successfully ping the MDT server if I use the FQDN, but can not just by it's A record of Acme-MDT. I tried manually mapping the network share using net use and it works if I use the FQDN, but it fails with an error code 53, "Network path not found" if I just use the A record of Acme-MDT. Here is the net use command I'm using: net use * \\Acme-MDT\DeploymentShare$ /u:Domain\Administrator It gives the error System Error 53, Network path not found (and doesn't prompt for a password), but if I use the FQDN of \\Acme-MDT.domain.com\DeploymentShare$ it works fine to map the drive. I guess the problem is, when it tries to load the image, it is trying to start from \\Acme-MDT\DeploymentShare$ and I need it to start from \\Acme-MDT.domain.com\DeploymentShare$, but not sure how to get it to do that. I've put the fully qualified path in CustomSettings.ini and bootstrap, updated the deployment share, regenerated the boot image and replaced the boot wim in WDS. Or, if someone has an idea as to why it's acting this way and knows a way around it. The end result is what matters! :) I did verify in DNS that Acme-MDT is there, with the proper IP, and I can successfully use the net use command to map this drive from a couple other computers that are already on the network. I am assuming it has something to do with that computer not already being part of the domain, but I'm honestly at a loss as to how to fix it. Any ideas are appreciated, thanks in advance for your help!

    I am trying to insert an audio channel with a video: first of all I extract the audio from the original video for processing: ffmpeg -i lotr.mp4 lotr.wav I then extract all frames for later processing too: ffmpeg -i lotr.mp4 -f image2 %d.jpg When done processing audio and video streams, I try to create the video ffmpeg -f image2 -r 15 -i %d.jpg new.mp4 then merge with the audio: ffmpeg -i new.mp4 -i lotr.wav -map 0:0 -map 1:0 new_w_audio.mp4 Result: CPU activity = 100%, the process hangs and never returns.   • How do I get the latest FastCGI and PHP versions to peacefully coexist on IIS 6?

    I have been going round and round trying to get any sort of PHP running on IIS 6. I somehow managed to successfully get version 5.1.4 running using the php5isapi.dll file. However, I want to upgrade a website to begin using a Content Management System. I have never dug into CMS before so I'm open to programs that are easy to use. I am currently looking into TomatoCMS and ImpressCMS - but that's beside the point. I have never done an installation with PHP before and I think I'm getting familiar with how it works. However the current situation is this. Microsoft's Web Platform Installer 2.0 installed FastCGI for me. I need to upgrade to PHP 5.3.1 for a CMS system. So I downloaded the Windows installer and let it go at it. After consulting several other blog articles, I believe I know how it is supposed to work but I am currently not having luck. THE SETUP *.php is a registered extension in IIS 6 for all websites (on Win 2k3). The application that it calls is C:\Windows\system32\inetsvr\fcgiext.dll, like it should. The fcgiext.ini config has the proper lines: [Types] php=PHP [PHP] ext=C:\program files\PHP\php-cgi.exe And the php.ini file also has the correct configs. All extensions are disabled and I changed the correct things for FastCGI. And everything is registered correctly with the PATH variable. Everything is exactly how it should be. BUT when I launch the "info.php" page () on another computer, I get the following error: FastCGI Error The FastCGI Handler was unable to process the request. Error Details: * Section [PHP] not found in config file. * Error Number: 1413 (0x80070585). * Error Description: Invalid index. HTTP Error 500 - Server Error. Internet Information Services (IIS) A quick Google search reveals that I have it all setup correctly as far as the INI's go and the mapping of the php extension. I am completely at a loss. Does anyone have any suggestions? Although the server is hosting three small websites, I don't really care what I have to do to it to get it to work.

  • Windows Vista: Networking can only connect "local only"

    I am attempting to debug a problem on a Windows Vista laptop - not mine! Until just recently (last week or so), it was operating normally for about 4 years :) The problem is that I am having issues connecting to the local network (a basic wireless home router; more later) and the internet (via ADSL). This is both for wired [Broadcom chipset] and wireless [Intel chipset]. I will elaborate further later. To detail the network. I have three other clients (HTC phone, Ubuntu 12.04 desktop [wired] and Ubuntu 10.04 laptop [wireless]), all of whom are able to connect to the network and internet normally. A windows 7 virtual machine running on said desktop connects normally. I have tried two different wireless routers - Netgear DG834G and Netgear DGN3500. The same error mode is common to both. Updating the firmware to the latest on both routers does not help. Overall, it seems safe to say it's localised to the laptop in question. I do not have another Vista client to test with. The specific symptoms are as follows: When "connected", it says "Local Only", and says it cannot connect to the internet. This is true for both wired and wireless. It can get an IP address (192.168.0.5), and the router (192.168.0.1) reports that it can see the device. When I try to ping, I get the following results: ping 192.168.0.1 - (router) all packets lost ping 192.168.0.5 - (laptop's address) OK ping 192.168.0.4 - (desktop) all packets lost Pinging from the desktop to the problematic laptop results in "From 192.168.0.4 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable" The most promising "fix" from trawling forums is KB928233 which does not work for me. The problem is persistent across reports (both full shutdown and hibernate) so it appears not to be sleep related. I am not a regular vista user, though I can fumble my way about a bit. Is there any other suggestions as to what I should do? Is there any further information I can provide?

I know I need to somehow specify that a .js file should also be treated like an .asp file and run through parsing it. However I am not sure how to go about doing this. Under MIME Types .js is defined as application/x-javascript None of these work. If I simply rename the file to have .asp extension then things work, however this app is poorly coded and has literally 100's of files with the .js files included in them under various names and locations, so rename, search and replace is the last option I have.

  • How is incoming SMTP mail being delivered despite blocked port

    I setup a MX mail server, everything works despite port 25 being blocked, I'm stumped as to why I am able to receive email with this setup, and what the consequences might be if I leave it this way. Here are the details: Connections to SMTP over port 25 and 587 both reliably connect over my local network. Connections to SMTP over port 25 are blocked from external IPs (the ISP is blocking the port). Connections to Submission SMTP over port 587 from external IPs are reliable. Emails sent from gmail, yahoo, and a few other addresses all are being delivered. I haven't found an email provider that fails to deliver mail to my MX. So, with port 25 blocked, I am assuming other MTA servers fallback to port 587, otherwise I can't imagine how the mail is received. I know port 25 shouldn't be blocked, but so far it works. Are there mail servers that this will not work with? Where can I find more about how this is working? -- edit More technical detail, to validate that I'm not missing something silly.   • How to troubleshoot performance issues of PHP, MySQL and generic I/O

    I have a WordPress based website running on a shared hosting. Its response time is very decent (around 2s to retrieve the HTML page and 5s to load all the resources). I was planning to move it to a dedicated virtual server (Ubuntu 12.04 LTS), which should theoretically improve things and make them more consistent given its not shared. However I observed severe performance degredation, with the page taking 10seconds to be generated. I ruled out network issues by editing /etc/hosts on the server and mapping the domain to 127.0.0.1. I used the Apache load tester ab to get the HTML, so JS, CSS and images are all excluded. It still took 10 seconds. I have Zpanel installed on the server which also uses MySQL, and its pages come up quite fast (1.5s) and also phpMyAdmin. Performing some queries on the wordpress database directly through phpMyAdmin returns them quite fast too, with query times in the 10 to 30 millisecond region. Memory is also sufficient, with only 800Mb being used of the 1Gb physical memory available, so it doesn't seem to be a swap issue either. I have also installed APC to try to improve the PHP performance, but it didn't have any effect. What else should I look for? What could be causing this degradation in performance? Could it be some kind of I/O issue since I am running on a cloud based virtual server? I wish to be able to raise the issue with my provider but without showing actual data from some diagnosis I am afraid he will just blame my application.     I'm migrating from libpam-ldap to libpam-ldapd. I'm having some trouble gathering the secondary groups from LDAP.     I keeping getting the error message from above on multiple computers that I administer. I wasn't sure if I should be posting this on SuperUser or ServerFault so my apologizes if it should go there... Basically, I have at least 5 computers of varying ages (some fresh out of the box!) throwing the above error. X:\ is one of our network drives that is mapped for users. Most of the time if you shut down the biggest application it will fix the problem, but it's becoming an increasing issue, and I can't keep running around fixing it manually. I have tried to do some research, but most of it just states the obvious without supplying a permanent fix. The machines are all running Win XP SP3, with at least 2gb of ram. Sorry for the delay in getting back to people... a lot of good questions. To respond back to people... It is a windows 2003 server that houses the file share. We have about 175 users, however i cannot state how many are actually accessing the information at a single moment. Considering that this is our largest file share, I would say that probably at least 100+. The files we work with are large, but not that big considering that we do a lot of graphical and video work. ~50mb. That being said, this is error occurs simply when trying to gain access to the server itself, not actual files. When I say close a program, I mean that it can be any program. It doesn't matter which program. It varies from machine to machine, and from day to day. Some days it is Firefox, some days it is Outlook, some days it is Excel. There doesn't seem to be a common bond behind which application could be causing the problem. Thank you for the articles, and the recommendation on paging files. I will have to look into that. None of our computers are set to hibernate, so I am going to rule that out.

  • Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 update breaks SSL

    Summary After updating from 10.7.1 to 10.7.2, neither Safari nor Google Chrome can load GMail. Spinning Beachballs all around. The problem isn't GMail; Firefox loads GMail just fine. The problem isn't limited to Safari or Google Chrome; Other applications also have trouble with SSL: Gilgamesh and Safari. Any program that uses WebKit (Google Chrome, Safari) or a Cocoa library (Gilgamesh) to access the Internet has trouble loading secure sites. The various forums online suggest a handful of fixes, none of which work. Analysis Fix #1: Open Keychain Access.app and delete the Unknown certificate. The 10.7.2 update also prevents Keychain Access from loading. The Keychain program itself Spinning Beachballs. Fix #2: Delete ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain and /Library/Keychains/System.keychain. This temporarily resolves the issue, and lets you load secure sites, but a minute or two after rebooting or hibernating somehow magically undoes the fix, so you have to delete these files over and over. Fix #3: Delete ~/Library/Application\ Support/Mob* and /Library/Application\ Support/Mob*. There is a rumor that the new MobileMe/iCloud service ubd is causing the issue. This fix does not resolve the issue. Fix #4: Open Keychain Access, open the Preferences, and disable OCSP and CRL. This fix does not resolve the issue. Fix #5: Use the 10.7.0 - 10.7.2 combo installer, rather than the 10.7.1 - 10.7.2 installer. When I run the combo installer, it stays forever at the "Validating Packages..." screen. The combo installer itself is bugged to He||. I force-quit the installer, ran "sudo killall installd" to force-quit the background installer process, and reran the combo installer. Same problem: it stalls at "Validing Packages..." Recap The only fix that works is deleting the keychains, but you have to do this every time you reboot or wake from hibernate. There is some evidence that ubd continually corrupts the keychain files, but the suggested ubd fix of deleting ~/Library/Application\ Support/Mob* and /Library/Application\ Support/Mob* does not resolve this issue. Evidently, something is corrupting the keychain over and over and over. Also posted on the Apple Support Communities.

  • How do I get the latest FastCGI and PHP versions to peacefully coexist on IIS 6?

    I have been going round and round trying to get any sort of PHP running on IIS 6. I somehow managed to successfully get version 5.1.4 running using the php5isapi.dll file. However, I want to upgrade a website to begin using a Content Management System. I have never dug into CMS before so I'm open to programs that are easy to use. I am currently looking into TomatoCMS and ImpressCMS - but that's beside the point. I have never done an installation with PHP before and I think I'm getting familiar with how it works. However the current situation is this. Microsoft's Web Platform Installer 2.0 installed FastCGI for me. I need to upgrade to PHP 5.3.1 for a CMS system. So I downloaded the Windows installer and let it go at it. After consulting several other blog articles, I believe I know how it is supposed to work but I am currently not having luck. THE SETUP *.php is a registered extension in IIS 6 for all websites (on Win 2k3). The application that it calls is C:\Windows\system32\inetsvr\fcgiext.dll, like it should. The fcgiext.ini config has the proper lines: [Types] php=PHP [PHP] ext=C:\program files\PHP\php-cgi.exe And the php.ini file also has the correct configs. All extensions are disabled and I changed the correct things for FastCGI. And everything is registered correctly with the PATH variable. Everything is exactly how it should be. BUT when I launch the "info.php" page () on another computer, I get the following error: FastCGI Error The FastCGI Handler was unable to process the request. Error Details: * Section [PHP] not found in config file. * Error Number: 1413 (0x80070585). * Error Description: Invalid index. HTTP Error 500 - Server Error. Internet Information Services (IIS) A quick Google search reveals that I have it all setup correctly as far as the INI's go and the mapping of the php extension. I am completely at a loss. Does anyone have any suggestions? Although the server is hosting three small websites, I don't really care what I have to do to it to get it to work.
