• Django SMTP and secure password authentication

  I have an SMTP server that e`uires secure password authentication (e.g. Outlook requires to check SPA). Is there a way to deal with it with Django SMTPConnection? Or maby any ideas about any python solution to deal SPA?   I'm working on re-writing a WinForms application into Silverlight. One use case in the WinForms app allows users to drag TIFF images (of faxes) from Outlook directly onto an "attach an image or fax to this case" control in the WinForms app. Is there a Silverlight 4 control which allows for the same functionality? It's important to realize that saving the file to the local filesystem and then selecting and uploading the file with a standard upload control will not meet the business requirements as outlined in the project.

She types "Hector" in the Outlook "To:" field. It autocompletes to "Hector's Team" but she doesn't notice that until after she sends it.

• Persist header data across reply emails

  Am trying to determine the best way to persist information from an originating email, through to a reply back. Essentially, it is to pass a GUID from the original email (c#), whereby when the receiver replies back, that GUID is also sent back for reference. I have tried setting the MessageID, whereby using Outlook, the In-Reply-To value is set with the original ID, however using some webclient email systems, that value is not created on reply. Is there another way to sent this info through email headers?

  Could anyone explain to me why is it that producers of processors claim that their processor can perform so many thousands (or millions) operations per second and yet typical program (Word, VS etc.) on my machine with 4GB, 3500hz starts with no less than 10sek. Have to mention that I've just formatted disk and tick any necessarry boxes to optimize my machine. So if for example outlook starts in 10 sek I wonder how many millions of operations have to be performed to run such program? Thanks

  Hi, I would like to store a list of entityIDs of outlook emails to a file. The entityIDs are strings like: "000000005F776F08B736B442BCF7B6A7060B509A64002000" "000000005F776F08B736B442BCF7B6A7060B509A84002000" "000000005F776F08B736B442BCF7B6A7060B509AA4002000" as you can notice, the strings are very similar. I would like to save these strings in a collection class that would be stored as efficiently as possible when I serialize it to a file. Do you know of any collection class that could be used for this? Thank you in advance for any information... Gregor

• Why is Gmail not showing my text/html alternative?

  I'm creating an outgoing e-mail message (TIdMessage) with add two TIdText objects, one with ContentType:='text/plain' and one ContentType:='text/html', and also a TIdAttachment object. This seems to work for Outlook, which shows the HTML content, but for some odd reason, GMail keeps showing me the text/plain version by default. I've tried adding the text/html version first, I've tried adding '; charset=iso-8859-1' to the content type string, but I can't seem to find what else is different with other e-mails that GMail is showing the HTML from rightaway.

However, it seems that adding an RSS feed to Outlook for the URL elmah.axd/rss or elmah.axd/digestrss bypasses the authentication. What's the point of securing the handler if someone can guess the RSS URL and subscribe to a feed of the error log?

Is there any way to check intersections and/or find the first intersecting date algorithmically without brute-forcing over each date? Definitions can be made in CRON's notations or ICal notation. The problem is when my SMTP server starts delivering a lot of mail to my corporate email account, the server is soon rejected as a source of spam. Of course, the major Internet email providers will also never accept email from such a server. I've delivered to a specified pickup directory and open in outlook express, but the problem is images always display as broken images.
