  • App Engine charges in November 2011 [closed]

    I had a billing enabled test application on Google App Engine left over from early 2011. I have not received a bill in many months because I have not been hitting the URL and according to the activity monitor, nobody has. Then unexpectedly in November 2011, I received 2 bills in as many weeks for quite minimal amounts. Checking the monitor it looks like nobody has been hitting the URL and according to the SQL-like search, there is nothing in the Datastore. I know that GAE has left the "preview" in recent weeks but I am not sure how that would affect what is essentially a dormant application with no Datastore objects. Has GAE started charging for completely unused applications in recent weeks? Edit: Most of my applications were already disabled and I have just disabled the only one that was enabled but unused the past several months. If I get another bill next week that should be informative.

Now multiple documents can be opened at the same time, either from "File | Open File" or from the File Browser (i.e., the rebranded Favorites window). Multiple tabs are available at the same time, each representing a different open document. Click a different tab and its document is activated and brought to the front of the application. That means multiple LibreOffice applications can be used simultaneously, each could be undocked from the frame of the application, and the user can work with multiple documents, from multiple LibreOffice applications, all at the same time. Sunday the PartnerExchange keynote is in Moscone North  Hall D.  Afterwards you will find PartnerExchange tracks in Moscone South Hall.     I know how to change an icon this way. What I'm looking for is an equivalent to changing the icon for an application in the launcher, i. e. the Home folder, via gedit ~/.local/share/applications/nautilus-home.desktop That way you can set an icon type, which is helpful when you later want to change the icon set resp. theme or when you want the best resolution for each size of the icon. So, I know how I can do this for applications in the launcher - but how can I realize this for icon folders in Nautilus? (In which file these settings are stored and editable whith i. e. Gedit?)

    Oracle Master Data Management had a great showing at OOW 2012 ! Special thanks to our customers and partners for presenting with us, sharing their use cases and successes as well as co-sponsoring events.  Almost every session at the show featured a customer and the tremendous success or transformation Oracle MDM resulted in at their organization.  At the DemoGrounds, Oracle MDM saw tremendous interest with many individuals enquiring to see demos, and have their technical questions answered.  The demos provided a perfect opportunity to showcase technical enhancements as well as what features are on the horizon.The MDM customer appreciation dinner event was a smashing success as cusotmers and partners enjoyed a spectacular water view, fine dining and cocktails and one of San Francisco's finest restaurants - The Water Bar.  In a short while the planning for next year's OpenWorld will be under full swing and we can't wait to get started.  See you at OOW 2013!!

  • Recomendation for Webshop with API

    I'm searching for a webshop. The problem with my search is, that the webshop-software of my choice needs to have a useabel API or some interface for external applications. E.g. i need to place orders by an external application or need to get product descriptions or warehouse stock from the external application. I somehow would like to have a webshop wehere the webinterface is just one way to interact with the whole system. There are some other requirments, which have to be fullfilled, but i guess they are kind of common: running on linux MySQL (we already have MySQL-replication and backup in place) i like open source but i'm willing to pay for it, if it's worth it I found some webshops on the net - but perhaps you can tell me, if theres any hope for a webshop with a good API before i go and test all of them, on the first look i didn't find any docs about any interface to external applications for any of my search results. Thank you!

    I am a java developer (web app and standalone applications) who knows JavaScript, HTML, CSS and has mostly worked on Web applications. I have no knowledge of C/C++ or any other lower level languages. I feel like I should strengthen my CS basics by learning a fundamental language. Should it be C or C++? I am also inclined to learn Objective-C. Does it need basics of C or C++? Or should I go for new languages like Python, Google's Go etc. I know this is a cliche question asked very frequently, but I can use some help here.
