  • Grant relay to servers based on AD security group membership

    We're moving our relay from an Exchange 2003 server to an Exchange 2010 server. I was hoping the "Grant or deny relay permissions to specific users or groups" option would still be available in some form, but I can't find out how to do it. I've read up on recieve connectors and so far I can't get it to work. I have edited the security on the Recieve Connector to allow the following extended rights to the group and added computer accounts to that group: Accept Routing Headers Bypass Anti-spam Submit to Server Accept any Sender Accept any Recipient Then I suddenly realised while testing... How would the receive connector resolve the permission to a particular AD object, maybe a reverse DNS lookup? What I'd like to know is if what I'm trying to achieve is possible, and how it would be possible. I would rather not revert to an IP-based list as this is not as manageable, and I'm trying to avoid creating static IPs/reservations for a number of workstations that would otherwise not need them.

  • Why is group write permission ignored in Ubuntu?

    I want my user to have full access to the local Apache root folder, and I also want the Apache user to have full access to the same folder. What I did was create a new group called DevGroup and I added my user and www-data there. Also I changed the permissions to 770 to allow full group access. But now it won't allow me or the Apache user any kind of access to the folder. Here is what I get with ls: drwxrwx--- 12 root DevGroup 4096 Sep 27 17:34 testFolder Which seems perfect but when I try as a user to access the file I get this: var/www$ ls testFolder/ ls: cannot open directory testFolder/: Permission denied Also when I try to access a page in the folder from a browser: [Thu Sep 27 17:47:16 2012] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required '/var/www/testFolder/foo.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear') in Unknown on line 0 What's the problem and how can I fix it?

  • Chrome Extension contenteditable get and set caret position

    I am creating an extension where I need to insert a link into the gmail window. I am able to create a simple extension button in the top of the window and execute code that does replaces all the links. Now, I want to do add links in the contenteditable section as I type. It seems like there should be a simple way to replace text with a link in the document object model. If this is not true I need to do three things. Insert text from the current caret position Capture the caret position. Set the caret position by its offset. I have tried using window.getSelection within the gmail context(that is a body element that is set to contenteditable and embedded inside an iframe in the gmail tab) to get the current range and position. The selection is always empty and contains no ranges regardless of whether text is selected or not.

  • Is there some performance issue between leaving empty ListProperties or using dynamic (expando) prop

    Is there a datastore performance difference between adding dynamic properties of the expando class when they are needed for an entity or the simpler (for me) framework of just setting up all possible properties I might need from the start even though most instances will just be left empty. In my specific case I would be having 5-8 empty ReferenceList properties as 'overhead' that will be empty when I skip using expando class.

  • Why does Windows Firewall want to block Google Chrome today?

    I've been using the same public Wi-Fi (staying in a guesthouse) for over a week now. But this morning for the first time I got this puzzling warning from Windows Firewall: Why does Windows Firewall want to block one of the world's most popular web browsers today after being fine with it for years, and being fine with it on this connection for a week? Could it hinge on the words, some features? If so could it be something like a rare or new feature of Chrome that uses a different HTTP port? And if so why doesn't the security alert tell me any more about it? Or could it be a known bug in Windows Firewall? Or perhaps a known virus etc attaching itself to Google Chrome? Or is there a chance it's related to "Other browser makers follow Google's lead, revoke rogue certificates"? I haven't restarted Chrome for days and have downloaded but not installed a Windows update from a few days ago. So I'm not sure what may have managed to change on my machine since yesterday.

    I want to create a Chrome extension that will automatically like every post I make on Facebook. My question is, how can I detect when I post something, and if that post if mine? Is there an event that occurs or something? (And just for the record, I know that these sorts of things are impossible when other apps post on my behalf, at least from an extension perspective. So I'm only concentrating on posts that I actually click the "post" button, or enter for, myself.)

    I am looking to create a group indicator for a query using SQL (Oracle specifically). Basically, I am looking for duplicate entries for certain columns and while I can find those what I also want is some kind of indicator to say what rows the duplicates are from. Below is an example of what I am looking to do (looking for duplicates on Name, Zip, Phone). The rows with Name = aaa are all in the same group, bb are not, and c are. Is there even a way to do this?   • In this example, would Customer or AccountInfo properly be the entity group parent?

    In this example, the Google App Engine documentation makes the Customer the entity group parent of the AccountInfo entity. Wouldn't AccountInfo encapsulate Customer rather than the other way around?   • How to fetch and populate backbone model for Google Places JS API?

    I'm implementing a system that require access to Google Places JS API. I've been using rails for most of the project, but now I want to inject a bit of AJAX in one of my views. Basically it is a view that displays places near your location. For this, I'm using the JS API of Google places. A quick workflow would be: 1- The user inputs a text query and hits enter. 2- There is an AJAX call to request data from Google Places API. 3- The successful result is presented to the user. The problem is primarily in step 2. I want to use backbone for this but when I create a backbone model, it requests to the 'rootURL'. This wouldn't be a problem if the requests to Places was done from the server but it is not. A place call is done like this: service = new google.maps.places.PlacesService(map); service.nearbySearch(request, callback); Passing a callback function: function callback(results, status) { if (status == google.maps.places.PlacesServiceStatus.OK) { for (var i = 0; i < results.length; i++) { var place = results[i]; createMarker(results[i]); } } } Is it possible to override the 'fetch' method in backbone model and populate the model with the successful Places result? Is this a bad idea?

  • Javascript in chrome plugin has syntax error

  • Default permission for newly-created files/folders using ACLs not respected by commands like "unzip"

    I am having trouble with setting up a system for multiple users accessing the same set of files. I've read tuts and docs around and played with ACLs but haven't succeeded yet. MY SCENARIO: Have multiple users, for example, user1 and user2, which is belong to a group called sharedusers. They must have all WRITE permission to a same set of files and directories, say underlying in /userdata/sharing/. I have the folder's group set to sharedusers and SGID to have all newly created files/dirs inside set to same group. ubuntu@home:/userdata$ ll drwxr-sr-x 2 ubuntu sharedusers 4096 Nov 24 03:51 sharing/ I set ACLs for this directory so I can have permission of sub dirs/files inheritted from its parents. ubuntu@home:/userdata$ setfacl -m group:sharedusers:rwx sharing/ ubuntu@home:/userdata$ setfacl -d -m group:sharedusers:rwx sharing/ Here's what I've got: ubuntu@home:/userdata$ getfacl sharing/ # file: sharing/ # owner: ubuntu # group: sharedusers # flags: -s- user::rwx group::r-x group:sharedusers:rwx mask::rwx other::r-x default:user::rwx default:group::r-x default:group:sharedusers:rwx default:mask::rwx default:other::r-x Seems okay as when I create new folder with new files inside and the permission is correct. ubuntu@home:/userdata/sharing$ mkdir a && cd a ubuntu@home:/userdata/sharing/a$ touch a_test ubuntu@home:/userdata/sharing/a$ getfacl a_test # file: a_test # owner: ubuntu # group: sharedusers user::rw- group::r-x #effective:r-- group:sharedusers:rwx #effective:rw- mask::rw- other::r-- As you can see, the sharedusers group has effective permission rw-. HOWEVER, if I have a zip file, and use unzip -q command to unzip the file inside the folder sharing, the extracted folders don't have group write permisison. I could possibly write an app to be housed within AppStore and query the Datastore returning XML-formatted data; I want to know, however, if there are any Datastore endpoints which would allow me to do it directly. Also, in case it is possible, am I able to do so via SSL?

  • Greasemonkey is getting an empty document.body on select Google pages.

    Hi, I have a Greasemonkey script that processes Google search results. But it's failing in a few instances, when xpath searches (and document body) appear to be empty. Running the code in Firebug's console works every time. It only fails in a Greasemonkey script. Greasemonkey sees an empty document.body. I've boiled the problem down to a test, greasemonkey script, below. I'm using Firefox 3.5.9 and Greasemonkey 0.8.20100408.6 (but earlier versions had the same problem). Problem: Greasemonkey sees an empty document.body. Recipe to Duplicate: Install the Greasemonkey script. Open a new tab or window. Navigate to Google.com (http://www.google.com/). Search on a simple term like "cats". Check Firefox's Error console (Ctrl-shift-J) or Firebug's console. The script will report that document body is empty. Hit refresh. The script will show a good result (document body found). Note that the failure only reliably appears on Google results obtained this way, and on a new tab/window. Turn javascript off globally (javascript.enabled set to false in about:config). Repeat steps 2 thru 5. Only now the Greasemonkey script will work. It seems that Google javascript is killing the DOM tree for greasemonkey, somehow. I've tried a time-delayed retest and even a programmatic refresh; the script still fails to see the document body.   • Hiding Group Column Names

    You once replied to a post about hiding list group header names. http://edinkapic.blogspot.com/2008/06/hiding-list-view-group-headers.html I do not write code or jQuery at that. But you mentioned that it would be better to write a solution in jQuery. Would you have code that would hide the group header and colon in a 2003 list (SP v.2)? Do you have any good leads? Thanks.
