• Rails 2.3.5 with rails_xss escaping content_for yielded content

  Just upgraded Rails to 2.3.5 to get the lovely looking rails_xss plugin but I've noticed one big issue with it. Any content_for blocks are escaped when yielded. I've tried hacking it around by doing the either of following but they do not work: <% @content_for_foo.html_safe! -%> <%= yield raw :foo %>

  Hi, I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds it a bit annoying when scanning say Events in Intellisense and having to wade thru all the Properties etc as well.   I try to start an Google appengine application in my eclipse. I have the Google plugin and I set the sdk for my application. But, when I start this one, I get the following error: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.datanucleus.store.appengine.jpa.DatastorePersistenceProvider However, this class is present in the sdk which is present in my classpath. Why Appengine doesn't find this class ? Thanks.

• Any way to add tabbed forms in django administration site ?

  When using Django "out-of-the-box" administration forms, the "change form" pages can be rather long for complex models (with a lot of fields). I would like to use tabs in the "change form", so things can be more readable (group fields by tabs...) Instead of doing it all by myself, by modifiying the 'change_form.html' admin template, I was wondering whether somebody has already done that and would like to share the code, or whether an existing Django-plugin already exist.   Are there any alternatives to ctags and cscope with Objective-c support. This does pertain to cocoa development, so inevitably it seems I will be using Xcode (and probably should). I was just wondering what are my Vim options. Maybe there is some type of plugin system like eclim, but for xcode? EDIT So it seems that other than updating ctags to support objective-c, I'm out of luck. Does anyone know if cscope is the same?

  Is is possible to write a browser plugin (one that requires the user to install something is OK) that would allow interprocess communication between the browser and a running instance of Excel (on Windows)? For example, suppose I want the user to be able to click something within their browser, and then have a piece of text drop into the selected cell in Excel as a result. This is certainly possible to do with a regular desktop application and Excel, but I'm not sure if it is possible with a browser, for security reasons.

  I'm using Phing to do post build tasks in Hudson. I want to generate changelog containing all commits since last successful Hudson build. But looks like neither Hudson nor Git plugin for Hudson does not provide %last_build_time% variable. This would be satisfying solution, (but how to get the time?): git log --pretty="%s" --since="%last_build_time%" The only way I see for now is extracting it from the job xml file, but I do not know if it is possible with Phing. How do you generate your change logs?

  Is it possible to detect the computed font-size of a DOM element, taking into consideration generic settings made elsewhere (In the body tag for example), inherited values, and so on? A framework-independent approach would be nice, as I'm working on a script that should work standalone, but that is not a requirement of course. Background: I'm trying to tweak CKEditor's font selector plugin (source here) so that it always shows the font size of the current cursor position (as opposed to only when within a span that has an explicit font-size set, which is the current behaviour).

• even small file upload stops activity on apache/rails

  on my rails(2.3.5) app(currently 50-70rpm, maximum response time around 0.7s), uploading even 700k file(using paperclip plugin) locks up the server for web requests for everyone for 2 minutes! (other apps on same server work normally) does anyone have a clue why that might be happening? i am using some mysql transactions which lock the database also if that might be an issue i read http://www.therailsway.com/2009/4/23/uploading-files but it couldn't be locking server for 2 minutes for a small file, could it?!
