• Virtual dedicated surver repetitive draining RAM, OOM constantly

  My linux (fedora red hat 7) virtual dedicated server has been experiencing OOM multiple times a day for the past several days. I thought the issue was with spamd/spamassassin but after disabling this the errors remains. The highest usage displayed on ps faux --cumulative: USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND root 28412 8.7 0.5 309572 109308 ? Ssl 22:09 0:00 /usr/sbin/named I'm not running any java applications so I'm not sure why the top issue is showing up. It is frustrating as I barely have anything running on the server and use the tiniest fraction of bandwidth. • GWT's JSONParser producing incorrect values for numbers.

  I'm work with GWT and parsing a JSON result from an ASP.NET webservice method that returns a DataTable. I can parse the result into a JSONvalue/JSONObject just fine. The issue I'm having is that one my columns in a DECIMAL(20, 0) and the values that are getting parsed into JSON aren't exact. To demonstrate w/o the need for a WS call, in GWT I threw this together: String jsonString = "{value:4768428229311981600}"; JSONObject jsonObject = JSONParser.parse( jsonString ).isObject(); Window.alert( jsonObject.toString() ); This in turn alerts: {"value":4768428229311982000} I'm under the understanding that GWT's JSONParser is just using eval() to do the parsing, so is this some sort of number/precision issue with JavaScript that I've never been aware of. I'll admit I don't work with numbers that much in JavaScript and I might be able to work around this by changing the .NET WebService to return this column as string, but I'd really rather not do that.   Is there a real solution for COMET AND PHP combination? Basically, I've come to a point that I need to update a user home page periodically whenever there is new data in the database. As far as I understand, I need to open a persistent connection between my server and my clients browsers to update the contents of their home page as soon as new info. available without dedicating a lot of resources but I had no luck finding anything clear about this issue. I read many articles suggests that PHP is not a good language to implement COMET. My web application is completely programmed in PHP and I don't want to learn another language but if I'm forced to, Would you suggest a good language to start with? Do you think that I can program an interface just to handle this issue? Thanks in advance.

• LINQ to SQL Could not find key member. Only fails on server.

  I have a scenario where I am inheriting from an abstract class in my partial linq to sql auto generated class implementation. My base abstract class has an abstract property called ID which I have flagged inside my LINQ to SQL model with the instance modifier override. This works fine locally without any issues. I have also done some development on another machine and it works fine there too (both in VS2008 and using Subversion). I am running CI with TeamCity and the build succeeds and deploys as desired. The problem is when the server tries to hit the database for the first time via the LINQ to SQL data context, it generates the following error. "Could not find key member 'Id' of key 'Id' on type 'CustomType'. The key may be wrong or the field or property on 'CustomType' has changed names." I have tried changing my configuration by not implementing the Id field in my base class but this still fails. Why does it work on both of my DEV machines but not on the server? I am using LINQ to SQL in another project that runs on this server just fine. FYI: LINQ to SQL, SQL 2008, .NET 3.5, SERVER 2008, IIS 7.0 UPDATE I have gone back and added the same table a second time in the same data model but without a base class and have then displayed the results from that table and got no errors. This tells me it has something to do with my base abstract class and the need to flag a property on one of my linq to sql model classes (that belongs to a key relationship) with the instance modifier of override. No answer to this yet but am getting closer. UPDATE I have fixed my issue by simply changing my approach to my problem but I am still interested in why this doesn't work. I created a new WinSrv2008 VPC and patched it, deployed a pre-built version of my site to it and still got the same error. I now assume the issue is like what the person said here, a dependency issue with VS2008. My question is what or what? Will install VS2008 on the VPC to see if it works after that.

• Facebook App Wall Posting no longer showing in Facebook iPhone App

  I use the GRAPH API with django for Facebook wall postings. Since yesterday, the wall posts only show on the Facebook web app but not the Facebook iPhone app. I tried Yelp, and their postings still show up. How can I debug this? Anyone notice this issue with their Facebook connect? Is this a Facebook algorithm issue. • Actionscript 2.0 mx.managers.CreatePopUp dialog triggers onRollOver for events underneath it

  All, On the main stage I have a button that is highlighted on rollover. I am using mx.managers.CreatePopUp to create a dialog box that pops up and takes user information. When the dialog box appears above the button, mousing over the dialog box triggers the highlight for the button beneath it. Can you provide some suggestions as to what the issue might be caused by? (I am fairly new to Flash so any suggestions would be helpful. Just looking for things to experiment with to get the correct behavior.) Other info that might be helpful: I've noticed that when I create a modal version of the dialog box, this behavior does not occur. Dismissing the modal dialog disables the entire stage. Fixing this issue would also solve my problem, but I've been unsuccessful thus far. Thanks in advance.

• Visual studio asp.net code behind file not showing errors

  Hi, I am developing a web application in which I am suddenly facing an issue. I have a webpage which contains many controls, one of the control is JQuery color picker. Now, I am upgrading my system with telerik controls. As part of this process, I replaced textbox(txtcolor) with radcolorpicker with a different id(colorPicker). Suddenly, my code behind file is not throwing any errors like 'unable to find txtColor'. It is running successfully without build errors. But, when I open the page, system is throwing runtime exception(txtColor not found) which is correct. I tried to change other controls with asp.net controls, still the problem persists. So, I dont think it is anything to do with telerik. Could you please let me know how can fix this issue?? Thanks, Mahesh

• Do FormViews not respond to commands issued from an ImageButton?

  I am using ImageButtons in place of LinkButtons in a FormView to issue New/Edit/Delete/Cancel commands, but they don't seem to have an effect on the FormView. The ImageButtons will cause a postback but the FormView mode doesn't change from the current mode. I'm sure the ImageButtons were working at one point, but I've been busy with other pages for a while. The only thing that's changed between now and then are some patches I installed in Visual Studio. I haven't been able to find any information related to this issue other than this: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/webforms/TamingTheFormView.aspx In that article there's an onclick method for an ImageButton that's used to change the FormView mode. Would that be the only way to use ImageButtons instead of LinkButtons in a FormView?

• NAS disk - problem with accessing SAMBA

  Hello I have a NAS disk running on some version of Linux. The disk is located in local network (5 PC running XP or Vista, all connected to Linksys Router). I have problems accessing NAS resources through SAMBA. The 1st issue is that the NAS is not accessible through hostname (even if it is configured), 2nd point is that it is mostly not accessible through IP manner (\IP_OF_NAS). Rest of services (FTP, HTTP access) works flawlessly. I connected the NAS to my home network (only 1 WinXP and Linsys router) and the NAS is working fine - SAMBA access together with hostname recognition works perfectly. I wonder this is an issue with WINS? Could anybody help? Regards

• Which revision of html5lib is stable?

  html5lib notes that it's latest release (0.11) is somewhat old. Using the Python portion, I have recursion problems as noted in Issue 70 and Issue 59 but can't find a recent Mercurial revision that is stable. • Uploadify refuses to upload WMV, FLV and MP4 files - SOLVED

  The uploadify plugin for JQuery seems very good and works for most file types. However, it allows me to upload all file types apart from the ones I need! Namely .WMV, .FLV and .MP4 Uploads of any other type work. I have already tried changing the fileExt parameter and also tried removing it altogether. I have testing in Google Chrome, IE7 and Firefox and none work for these file types. I have a ton of local projects already and uploading is not an issue on any other project, I even use the same example files (This is the first time I have used Uploadify) Is there a known reason for this behaviour? EDIT: Have found the issue. I had forgotten to add my usual .htaccess file to the example project.

• Facebox adding commas to input

  I'm using a facebox to display a form inside a lightbox, nothing too exciting (just a couple of datepickers, some textboxes and a checkbox). However, I'm having issues with the postbacks, whenever I post back from the facebox it adds a ',' to the start of the input (so "rabbit" becomes ",rabbit") Now, I saw that there was the same issue with the modalpopup extender from the ajaxcontroltoolkit, so I assume it's a common issue. Can anyone either explain why this is happening, or tell me how to fix it? provide a decent way of fixing this? I have actually done it, and it works very nicely, but I don't really want to answer my own bounty question so someone else give it a go!   Hi there! I have an issue with the background image of button which is dependent of button state. I have a button inside customized table view cell and i have set different images for button's different states. Please look into the code below. [btnNow setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"now_norm.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [btnNow setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"now_focus.png"] forState:UIControlStateHighlighted]; Whenever i tap on the actual button this works great but if i tap on area outside of button but which is still inside that same cell then this button changes its background image from UIControlStateNormal to UIControlStateHighlighted. If i remove background image from UIControlStateHighlighted state then this issue doesn't exists but i need pressed state of the button. Please help me out. Thanks in advance! Vivek Dandage.

• VB.net, disable proxy for entire program

  Ever since upgrading to Visual Studio 2010, I'm running into an issue where the first web request of any type (WebRequest, WebClient, etc.) hangs for about 20 seconds before completing. Subsequent calls work quickly. I've narrowed down the problem to a proxy issue. If I manually disable proxy settings, I don't experience this delay: Dim wrq As WebRequest = WebRequest.Create(Url) wrq.Proxy = Nothing What's strange is that there are no proxy settings enabled on this machine in Internet Options. What I'm wondering is if there is a way to disable proxy settings for my entire project in one shot without explicitly disabling as above for every web object. The main reason I want to be able to do this is that I'm trying to use an API (http://code.google.com/p/google-api-for-dotnet/) which uses web requests, but does not provide any way to manually disable proxy settings. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

• xDebug cant find my files. Always looks in localhost

  I'm running win7-64bit, NetBeans 7.1.1 and WampServer 2.2 (which has xDebug) I've configured php.ini (xdebug.remote_enable=on, etc.) I create a directory (virtual host called example.dev) and add a test file. (c:/wamp/example/test-xdebug.php) I run debug in NetBeans and the following url displays: http://localhost/example/test-xdebug.php?XDEBUG_SESSION_START=netbeans-xdebug This fails. The browser coughs up the following error message. Not Found. The requested URL /example/test-xdebug.php was not found on this server. I add the correct path to the virtual host, and xDebug Runs Flawlessly: http://example.dev/test-xdebug.php?XDEBUG_SESSION_START=netbeans-xdebug Tried every configuration I could think of. If this is a php.ini config issue, I sure as heck cant find it. If its a NetBeans issue, there is not an option/interface to modify i (that I can find). Please illuminate! thanks sleeper

• Java NIO SocketChannel writing problem

  I am using Java NIO's SocketChannel to write : int n = socketChannel.write(byteBuffer); Most of the times the data is sent in one or two parts; i.e. if the data could not be sent in one attemmpt, remaining data is retried. The issue here is, sometimes, the data is not being sent completely in one attempt, rest of the data when tried to send multiple times, it occurs that even after trying several times, not a single character is being written to channel, finally after some time the remaning data is sent. What could be the cause of such behaviour? Could external factors such as RAM, etc cause the hindarance? Please help me solve this issue. If any other information is required please let me know.   I have slight issue with the jquery datepicker in that it displays ABOVE the target box. This is due to the way my page is set up. I found the issue with CSS in my page via firebug, unfortunately it conflicts with about 20 elements. Next I tried hooking into the "beforeShow event" which works but then after the event fires it just recalculates and puts it where ever it wants. beforeShow: function() { $('#ui-datepicker-div').show(); var offset = $('#ui-datepicker-div').offset(); $('#ui-datepicker-div').css({ top: (offset.top + 222) + 'px' }) } Does anyone else have any ideas how how I can reposition this?   I know this is a very subjective question but as text rendering in WPF is still an issue I have to make the best out of it. In WPF Application text tend to become blurry that is no secret. Also there are countless website about this topic and how you get around this problem. But I wonder ... text blurriness seems to affect some fonts more that others. So I am still looking for the best font available to get around this issue. So far I am still using Arial and it doesn't look good. But I am sure some other font are more suitable for the task at hand.

• Searching documents by tag using the Scribd API is no longer returning expected results.

  Recently I have encountered an issue with Scribd where searching via Scribd API (docs.search) for documents by tag is no longer working. This has been working (for over 6 months) to return a number of documents that I have tagged with "fdsafetyandprevention" (accessible here http://www.scribd.com/tag/fdsafetyandprevention). Just recently my search via the API has stopped working. Note that test searches such as @tags "selfhelp" as described in the Scribd documentation DO work. Could my issue be related to caching or the age of my documents and Scribd choosing to not return them in search results? I have been using scribd.php (http://www.scribd.com/developers/libraries) to interface with the API using $scribd-search(@tags "fdsafetyandprevention", 20, 0, "all"). • Dropdown menus not showing when i use my wpf application via Remote connections

  When i connect to my machine using remote desktop the dropdown menus and comboboxes i used in my wpf application is not showing up. And after closing the session when i comes back to my development machine where actually my application runs there also the same issue happens after the remote desktop session. Tried by changing resolution and all sometimes it works but most of the time result is negative. The only temporary solution i found for this is just rebooting the system which is not applicable.   Hi Everyone, I've got an issue with SharePoint Server 2007 SP1 which seems to be documented in various forms, but I haven't been able to find an answer to my seemingly simpler question. http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointcustomization/thread/040533d2-c738-4ac2-b2d6-65a1602fa2d1 Essentially, we have a form with a lookup field to another SharePoint list. The lookup field has more than 20 items, and so SharePoint changes the type/behaviour of the field as per the standard behaviour. However, with my custom skin applied, clicking on this drop down causes a JS error from within the Core.js file, as described here: http://splitnut.blogspot.com/2009/06/lookup-fields-in-moss-javascript-error.html What I haven't been able to figure out is why this is only an issue when my custom master page is applied, and not the OOTB master pages. • How to analyze dump file from delphi dll?

  I'm an escalation engineer on a product which use both c# and delphi 2006 code. In most cases c# issues are debugged with windbg and delphi 2006 issues with eurekalog. But when the issue is a delphi memory usage, eurekalog doesn't give enough information to fix the issue and the only thing i have to debug it is a full memory dump file. I cannot (or i don't know how to) load symbol file in windbg because it is a .map file and not a .pdb file. So my questions are: Does anyone know how to load symbol from .map file in windbg? (Converting .map to .pdb or other) Does anyone know a tool to analyze dump file for delphi application?
