Why very occasionally will one of bof/eof be true for a non-empty recordset. It seems so rare that I wonder why it occurs at all. • Add a smaller subView with new origin

  I can't get my head around this - I know it must be simple.. I'm starting to feel pretty stupid. I have two viewControllers. MainViewController.h/m and LevelsViewController.h/m I want to add a subView from the LevelsViewController class and a view that is built in IB called levelsView. I am calling this from the MainViewController.m file. The levelsView is only 200x200 pixels and I want to offset it from the frame origin of the superView by x=140 pixels and y=50 pixels. I have this working - the view displays, but I can't figure out how to offset it. It only shows up at the 0,0 superView frame origin. (The superView shows below it, which is what I want). • php Getting the 'new' values in an array

  Trying to learn about php's arrays today. I have a set of arrays like this: $a = array ( 0 => array ( 'value' => 'America', ), 1 => array ( 'value' => 'England', ), 2 => array ( 'value' => 'Australia', ), ) $b = array ( 0 => array ( 'value' => 'America', ), 1 => array ( 'value' => 'England', ), 2 => array ( 'value' => 'Canada', ), ) I need to get the 'new' subarrays that array b brings to the table. ie, I need to return array ( 'value' => 'Canada', ) I thought I could first merge $a+$b and then compare the result to $a. $merge = array_merge($a,$b); $result = array_diff($merge,$a); But somehow that does not work. It returns array() How come? And thanks!

• Applying jQuery attr value to new DOM elements (result of AJAX query)

  Hello everyone, I have a div on a page whose contents is replaced by an AJAX request when the user selects an option from a select list. When the page loads, I issue a command to disable the autocomplete feature for all of the pages text input elements: //Stop that pesky browser autocomplete $('input[type=text]').attr("autocomplete", "off"); However, when new elements appear in the div after an AJAX call, this line of code does not reference them because they were not part of the original DOM (when the page was loaded). I have tried appending the autocomplete line to the end of the post function: //AJAX Post request that changes the fields in the address div for each different country $("div#address select#country").live("change", function() { $.post("<?php print($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']); ?>", { country: $(this).val() }, function(data) { $('div#address').html(data); }, "text"); $('div#address input[type=text]').attr("autocomplete", "off"); }); But for some reason it does not work and the autocomplete pops up when text is entered into any of the address fields. As far as I am aware I cannot use .live() to select the input elements because changing an attribute is not classed as an event. So can anyone advise me how to modify the attributes of a newly created DOM element?

• How do I source a shell script for Node Version Manager?

  Hi and thanks for looking! I am new to Linux/Ubuntu, but I have set up an Ubuntu box on which to run Node.js. I have had moderate success, but now I need to be able to easily upgrade my version of Node. Many folks recommend using Node Version Manager. I followed the directions, but when I try to do something like this: nvm ls I get a messaging stating that No command NVM found I have gone back to check the steps I followed to install NVM, but there is one part that is tricky for may and I think to be the culprit: sourcing the file for bash. From the instructions: To activate nvm, you need to source it from your bash shell . ~/nvm/nvm.sh I always add this line to my ~/.bashrc or ~/.profile file to have it automatically sources upon login. Often I also put in a line to use a specific version of node. So which file should I add this to? I am guessing profile since it's ubuntu?? Also, where in the file do I add this line? After I have added this line, do I need to reboot or anything? Any help would be deeply appreciated--especially if you can show me an example profile file with . ~/nvm/nvm.sh integrated so that I can see usage. Thanks, Matt

  I pulled my hard drive out of my computer and started with a bootable usb version of Ubuntu, which I am using that at this point. At first boot, I see that there is a Windows folder when browsing network. Since there is no operating system present, besides the usb that I boot from, should there be a Windows network folder? Original question First of all I just want to say, I wish I had tried Ubuntu a couple years ago when I first heard about it, but I was like a lot of the population and went with the "easy way" and stuck with Windows because I didn't want to take the time to learn something new. Well, about 3 months ago I realized someone had hacked into my computer, and then found they had hacked my facebook account so I decided I had better do a complete credit check. I found student loans (totalling about 30,000 so far) had recently showed up on my credit report. I think it's going to be a long, long road to recovery now but I'm hoping Ubuntu will be a start and definitely an eye opener. My relationship with Windows is over. I had 3 antivirus programs running, none were protecting me like I thought they were. Turned out a free program that I downloaded was the only one that could detect and clean the virus, but by then it was too late. • Core Data migration failing with error: Failed to save new store after first pass of migration

  In the past I had already implemented successfully automatic migration from version 1 of my data model to version 2. Now, using SDK 3.1.3, migrating from version 2 to version 3 fails with the following error: Unresolved error Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=134110 UserInfo=0x5363360 "Operation could not be completed. (Cocoa error 256.)"; reason = "Failed to save new store after first pass of migration."; } I have tried automatic migration using NSMigratePersistentStoresAutomaticallyOption and NSInferMappingModelAutomaticallyOption and also migration using only NSMigratePersistentStoresAutomaticallyOption, providing a mapping model from v2 to v3. I see the above error logged, and no object is available in the application. However, if I quit the application and reopen it, everything is in place and working. • Removing expired certificates from LDS (new ver of ADAM)

  Hi all. This is my situation: We are in the process of replacing a certificate store currently hosted on Sun's iPlanet with Microsoft's Lightweight Directory Services (new version of ADAM with Server 2008). These certificates have been imported into LDS into an application partition (say o=myorg, C=AU). Under this structure I have around 40,000 OU's each one representing a customer under each customers OU are one or more user (iNetOrg) objects (around 60,000 in all). In each user are one or more certificates in the UserCertificate attribute. A combination of in-house written application code and proprietory PKI code reads and publishes these certficates to validate financial transactions. As the LDAP path of the certificates is stored within the customer certificates (and within the application code) and there is zero appetite for changing any of the code, I have had to pick up the iPlanet directory as a whole and dump it in LDS in the same structure. (I will not be using or hosting a Microsoft CA, just implementing an LDAP compliant directory to host these certificates) We have fully tested the application using the data in LDS and everything works fine - here is my dilema and question (finally, phew!) There was no process put in place for removing revoked or expired certificates, consequently the vast majority of the data is completely useless, the system has been running for about 8 years! I have done a quick analysis and I estimate that at least 80% of the data is no longer valid. As I am taking on responsibility for managing the directory I would like to start with a clean directory. Does anyone have any idea how I can cleanup these expired certificates. I am not a highly experienced scripter but have some background in VB. I have been researching the use of CAPICOM and have a feeling this may be able to be used but in exactly what way I am not sure?? I would prefer to write a script that I could specify an expiration date (say any certs that expired prior to 2010) then run against the LDS paritition. This way I can reuse the script periodically to cleanup the directory (as mentioned above - I have no way to adjust the applications that are writing the certs, this is with a third party). Another, less attractive, alternative is to massage the LDIF file (2.7 million lines!) to rip the certs out prior to the import Any help and advice MUCH appreciated. Cheers Jon

  on my tableview i have the last cell that is not initially visible as seen in the first image, when i scroll the list up, you can see in the second image that the price or my detailTextLabel is put on a new line not maintaining the right justification. • Undefined symbols after installing new xcode 3.2.3 build

  I want to move to the new XCode 3.2.3 GM Seed build for development, but when I bring up my project I get 'base sdk missing' because my project is set to use iPhone SDK 3.0. If I change 'base SDK' to iPhone 3.2 or 4.0 and then compile I get a lot of errors that I don't understand. I dumped a few of them below. Can anyone tell me what I am missing? Also, can someone confirm that if I choose 'base sdk' of iPhone 3.2 or 4.0 that I can still choose 'target device' of iPhone 3.0 and not force my customers to install the new SDK. I really don't want to be the app that forces my customers to upgrade their OS. Thanks!   I'm using Hibernate with OpenSessionInViewInterceptor so that a single Hibernate session will be used for the entire HTTP request (or so I wish). • Core-Data + AFNetworking + UI Updating (Responsiveness)

  Here's the scenario: I'm writing a DownloadManager, that allows the user to download, pause, cancel, download all, and pause all. The DownloadManager is a singleton, and uses AFNetworking to download files. It has it's own private managed object context, so that user can freely use other parts of the application (by adding, editing, deleting) core-data objects. I have a core-data entity DownloadInfo that stores the download information i.e. fileURL, fileSize, bytesRead, etc. The DownloadManager updates the download progress in DownloadInfo (one for each file). I have a DownloadManagerViewController which uses NSFetchedResultsController to show the download status to the user. This download view controller is using the main managed object context. Now let's say that I have 20 files in the download queue. And let's say that only 3 concurrent downloads are allowed. The download manager should download the file, and show the download progress. Problem: The DownloadInfo objects are being updated by the DownloadManager at a very high rate. The DownloadManagerViewController (responsible for showing the download progress) is updating the list using NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate methods. The result is that a lot is happening in the main queue and application has very poor responsiveness. How can I fix this? How can I make the application responsive, while showing the download progress? I don't know how else to communicate that the download status between DownloadManager and DownloadManagerViewController. Is there another/ a better way to do this? I don't want to use main managed object context in my DownloadManager, for reasons mentioned above. Note, that the DownloadManager is using AFNetworking which is handling the requests asynchronously, but eventually the DownloadInfo objects are updated in the main thread (as a result of the callback methods). Maybe there's a way to handle the downloads and status update operations in a background thread? but how? How will I communicate between the main thread and the background thread i.e. how will I tell the background thread to queue another file for download? Thanks.

If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation. • Need to know how to properly create a new object in another cpp file

  I have a class. The problem now is, after a few attempt, I'm still in huge error. My problem is I don't know how to properly declare a new object for this class, inside another cpp file. I wanted to call/trigger the functions from this RebarHandler class from my other cpp file. I keep on getting problems like, 'used without being initialized', 'debug assertion failed' and so on. In the other cpp file, I include the RebarHandler.h and did like this: CRebarHandler *test=NULL; test->setButtonMenu2(); When compile, I does not give any error. But, when run time, it gives error and my IE crash. I need help. • How to reduce redundant code when adding new c++0x rvalue reference operator overloads

  I am adding new operator overloads to take advantage of c++0x rvalue references, and I feel like I'm producing a lot of redundant code. I have a class, tree, that holds a tree of algebraic operations on double values. Here is an example use case: tree x = 1.23; tree y = 8.19; tree z = (x + y)/67.31 - 3.15*y; ... std::cout << z; // prints "(1.23 + 8.19)/67.31 - 3.15*8.19" For each binary operation (like plus), each side can be either an lvalue tree, rvalue tree, or double. This results in 8 overloads for each binary operation: // core rvalue overloads for plus: tree operator +(const tree& a, const tree& b); tree operator +(const tree& a, tree&& b); tree operator +(tree&& a, const tree& b); tree operator +(tree&& a, tree&& b); // cast and forward cases: tree operator +(const tree& a, double b) { return a + tree(b); } tree operator +(double a, const tree& b) { return tree(a) + b; } tree operator +(tree&& a, double b) { return std::move(a) + tree(b); } tree operator +(double a, tree&& b) { return tree(a) + std::move(b); } // 8 more overloads for minus // 8 more overloads for multiply // 8 more overloads for divide // etc which also has to be repeated in a way for each binary operation (minus, multiply, divide, etc). So, the rvalue overloads are worthwhile for me, even with the extra code. I have a suspicion that there might be a way to template away the "cast and forward" cases above, but I can't seem to think of anything.

• Route Angular to New Controller after Login

  I'm kind of stuck on how to route my angular app to a new controller after login. I have a simple app, that uses 'loginservice'... after logging in, it then routes to /home which has a different template from the index.html(login page). I want to use /home as the route that displays the partial views of my flightforms controllers. What is the best way to configure my routes so that after login, /home is the default and the routes are called into that particular templates view. • Incompatible library creating new project with Aptana

  I am a ruby and rails newbie, so my abilities to debug this are somewhat limited. I have just added the eclipse plugin which failed, then downloaded the latest aptana studio which also failed. The failure was the same in both cases. The nature of the failure is that when I create a new rails project, I get an error message about an incompatible library version "C:/Ruby193/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/mongrel-1.1.5-x86-mswin32-60/lib/http11.so". The project is actually created, along with directories and files. Google searches around this error message have only returned a couple of hits, which were not very helpful I am wondering if this is about 64 bit libraries. My software stack is: Windows 7 home premium 64bit Aptana RadRails, build: 2.0.5.1278709071 Ruby1.9.3 gem 1.8.24 The console shows: "4320" C:/Ruby193/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.9.1/rubygems/custom_require.rb:36:in `require': iconv will be deprecated in the future, use String#encode instead.   I'm trying to add new google-play-services_lib in my old project, due to which R.jave file is removed from the project. Also, as soon as i remove google-play-services_lib, i get my R.java file back. minimum sdk version is 11. I'm referring to following link: https://developer.android.com/google/play-services/setup.html I am following these steps to add library as a project == Right-click on My project - Properties In Android-Library section click Add select recently added project - Ok then aapt.exe has stopped working and R.jave file is removed from the project

• JQM dialog is opening in new page instead of dialog

  Thank you for taking the time to read my question. I'm trying to get a dialog box to open using Jquery mobile. I followed the documentation and used the data-rel="dialog" notation along with the data-transition="pop". Instead of a dialog appearing on the same page, I get a brand new page with the dialog appearing. Can someone kindly assist me on how to fix this functionality.
