  • How to determine if an event is already subscribed

    Hi, In my .NET application I am subscribing to events from another class. The subscription is conditional. I am subscribing to events when the control is visible and de-subscribing it when it become invisible. However in some conditions I do not want to de-subscribe the event even if the control is not visible as I want the result of an operation which is happening on background thread . Is there any way through which I can determine if a that class has already subscribed to that event. I know we can do it in the class which will raise that event by checking event with null but I don not know how to do it in a class which will subscribe to that event.

I believe it's caused when it tries to parse the tilde part of that string "Mísero". the directory "D:\MUSICA\La Trampa - El Mísero Espiral De Encanto" exists because I can see it and also have some files in it.   • Can a Domain Specific Language (DSL) be localized?

    I have never written a DSL, but I am considering it as a feature for a new project (hypothetical). It would be for end users to be able to express in natural language concepts such as weekdays between 10 and 11 except on the first monday of the month. Dutch users might write weekdagen tussen 10 en 11 behalve op de eerste maandag van de maand. In this case the position of the words seems to match, but there may be expressions where the position of verbs/nouns etc. could be different between languages. I realise the obvious answer (it depends). I am a .NET developer and I consider using Boo but I'm open to suggestions. I need to understand wether each translation requires rewriting a part of the implementation (which part) or if there is a way to do actual translations, maybe in some sort of preprocessor. Thanks!

    Hi, I have a table with 6 columns containing HTML content with some markups in it and now when moving to a new designed site most of this HTML code has to be deleted. More or less all tags except <B> and </B>. Is there a nice way of doing this, identify all tags end delete them within the data? I'm sure there are no < symbols in the test so a regular expression would maybe work? My alternative is to fetch every row, process it and update the database but I'm guessing this is possible to do in T-SQL directly. My server is an MSSQL 2008 and is located in a hosted environment but I can fetch a local copy if needed. Thanks, Stefan

  • Is it valid for Hibernate list() to return duplicates?

    Is anyone aware of the validity of Hibernate's Criteria.list() and Query.list() methods returning multiple occurrences of the same entity? Occasionally I find when using the Criteria API, that changing the default fetch strategy in my class mapping definition (from "select" to "join") can sometimes affect how many references to the same entity can appear in the resulting output of list(), and I'm unsure whether to treat this as a bug or not. The javadoc does not define it, it simply says "The list of matched query results." (thanks guys). If this is expected and normal behaviour, then I can de-dup the list myself, that's not a problem, but if it's a bug, then I would prefer to avoid it, rather than de-dup the results and try to ignore it. Anyone got any experience of this?

  • A good approach to db planing for reporting service

    The scenario: Big system (~200 tables). 60,000 users. Complex reports that will require me to do multiple queries for each report and even those will be complex queries with inner queries all over the place + some processing in PHP. I have seen an approach, which I am not sure about: Having one centralized, de-normalized, table that registers any activity in the system which is reportable. This table will hold mostly foreign keys, so she should be fairly compact and fast. So, for example (My system is a virtual learning management system), A user enrolls to course, the table stores the user id, date, course id, organization id, activity type (enrollment). Of course I also store this data in a normalized DB, which the actual application uses. Pros I see: easy, maintainable queries and code to process data and fast retrieval. Cons: there is a danger of the de-normalized table to be out of sync with the real DB. Is this approach worth considering, or (preferably from experience) is total $#%#%t?

    Hi, Company I work for are one of the largest betting companies in Europe and the website has thousands of lines of JavaScript on all our pages. Lately Internet Explorer versions earlier than version 9 are running painfully slow and I want to be able to monitor what parts of a page load (including scripts) that are slow. I know that IE are slower in general and has DOM API issues etc. What I want to accomplish is a way to quickly identify slow parts and see if we can replace the code with IE specific code that will render with higher performance.   • No image displayed in Fancybox

    I am having trouble getting fancybox to display its corresponding images on a website that I'm building http://www.nomadicdrift.com/test/kaniwa#events . It's a custom one page portfolio theme that I set up on the WordPress platform. If you follow the link to the events section you will see 1 figure item in a gallery like position. I have this image set up to work as a fancybox gallery, but when you click on it, it opens up the fancybox interface but does not place a image in the frame, even though it should. So this is the problem...the images do not show up in fancybox and instead I see just the frame. I have also successfully used this same markup for a one thumbnail fancybox gallery on another site. I thought maybe it was due to some conflict in the .js files I'm using. I tried uninstalling all of my plugins/addons (which aren't too many) one by one and still had the same result. I have all of my personal javascript in the functions.js file, which is where I call the fancybox plugin using the standard $("a.fancybox").fancybox();. Let's suppose we have : A: public class MyDict { public Dictionary<int,string> dict; // do custom-serialization of "dict" public void SaveToFile(...); // customized deserialization of "dict" public void LoadFromFile(...); } B: public class MyDict : Dictionary<int,string> { } Which option would be better in the matter of programming style ? class B: is to be de/serialized externally. Main problem is : is it better to create new class (which would have only one property - like opt A:) or to create a new class derived - like opt B: ?     Hi all, I know that Apple keeps 30 % of the money I make with in-app-purchase. But does that always count? I mean, if there's a feature allowing the user to buy something with an SMS-message, is that allowed? If yes, does Apple also keep 30 % then? Or if I make a WebService-call with username/password and return something to the user then, is it possible to charge that call and keep the money for myself? I thougt that those are options which are not allowed, but there are some apps out there which exactly do it that way - are they only "lucky" and Apple didn't see that or is it allowed to sell services that way?   • nginx 502 Bad Gateway on every external site

    I just installed nginx and followed the guides on the official site, to set it up with php5-fpm, but it just won't work. Not even the default site, without php is working outside of my server. Tried listen = 127.0.0.1:7777 and listen = /var/run/php5-fpm.sock Both don't work. I can access http://localhost with lynx on my server, but not from somewhere else (with external ip obviously). Yes, the php5-fpm deamons are running, yes the port (80 and 7777) is opened. Don't work with php-cgi as well.
