  I have a website (not a web application- in visual studio you get two options-create a website/project) running on IIS 6.0. Now I want to develop few features in MVC architecture. So I created one MVC application in visual studio and everything is working fine on localhost as a separate application. Now I want to host this MVC app also inside the website I have already deployed. I created a virtual directory(MVCDir) inside the default website in IIS 6.0.   Does the Prototype Javascript library have a selector that's equivalent to jQuery's :contains()? If not, what would what be "The Prototype Way" to selector/filter-down a list of elements that contains a particular string. For example, using the following $$('#some_div dd a') I may get back an array of 50 or so links. I only want the links that contain the work 'home'. In jQuery I'd do this jQuery('#some_div dd a:contains('home')'); Is it possible to do something similar using Prototype? If not, is there an elegant way to filter out the array of 50 elements that gets returned.

  I have a program that takes input from stdin and also takes some parameters from command line. It looks like this: cat input.txt myprogram -path "/home/user/work" I try to debug the code with gdb inside emacs, by M-x gdb, I try to load the program with the command: gdb cat input.txt myprogram -path "/home/user/work" However, gdb does not like it. Question cribbed from here. Unfortunately I don't understand the solution and am not sure what to do beyond compiling with the -g option and running the command M-x gdb.

• Internet is far slower in Ubuntu than Windows 7 on dual-booted machine

  Edit: I'll leave the original post as-is, but after further investigation, it appears that the problem is something to do with my wi-fi card. Speeds are normal when I connect via cable. Edit 2: Problem was solved. It was something to do with the wireless card drivers. I normally use Windows 7 on my laptop and have internet speeds that are normally about 15-20 Mb/s. I have recently dual-booted with Ubuntu 12.10, and have noticed that internet speeds are drastically slower in Ubuntu. When tested, speeds range from 0.2-2 Mb/s, although occasionally being significantly faster than that or even stopping completely for short periods of time. I've also noticed that when first booting into Ubuntu, speeds start fairly fast, and drop to incredibly slow with a few seconds to a few minutes. There's still some possibility that the issue may be with my ISP, as things seem slower than usual even in Windows, but I suspect that it is related to Ubuntu, as things are far slower in Ubuntu than in Windows. I'm wondering, what could be the cause of this? Potentially relevant information: -I've dual booted before on this machine with earlier versions of Ubuntu (different ISP at the time) with no problem.   I have a website which has 2 pages , (home_page.php and action_page.php)Action page takes aprx. 2 minutes to completely load (server side takes 2 minutes) . But if user clicks to home page link while action page is loading , browser does not go to home page , until action page is completely loaded . First of all what is the reason of this ? I am trying to make the format: /module/value/controller/action give /module/controller/action passing on value as a parameter e.g. /store/johnsmithbigsale/home/newstuff would route to /store/home/newstuff passing on johnsmithbigsale as the value to a parameter with a hidden namespace e.g. storeName. I have a website in Joomla, and I have some .css (layout.css, position.css, .... ) and I have at home of the website, 3 buttons, I tested in localhost, and when I see the home well, I upload everything to production, to my server. Now, I just edited some styles of these buttons, for example, the width, in order to see them better...but I'm having a problem with the cache, because sometimes I see them with new changes, but other times I see with the old styles.....I realized that this happens especially with chrome Could you help me, please?   Hi, I got a problem where I want to use template including in Django. Here is the real example: I got 3 file: home.html (will get the context variable passed from Views), base.html (the skeleton template file) and the header.html (included by base.html). If if put the code below directly in base.html without including the header.html, the {{title}} variable passing from home is correctly called. But if I include the header.html in base.html, the {{title}} variable's value cannot be called. <title>{% block title %}{% endblock %} | {{ SITE_INFO_TITLE }}</title> Is there any solution to this problem? • Serious error on first attempts to dual boot Ubuntu 14.04 with Win7

  I downloaded Ubuntu 14.04 from the website which I saved to my desktop with WinRar. My trial with winrar had expired so I have now tried it with Active@Isoburner but I'm getting no further. I eventually got it burnt onto a DVD(4.7gb) and tried to boot from DVD and normally. Neither way works. It looks like its about to boot but then a message appears saying that a serious error has occurred...the disk drive for /tmp is not ready yet or not present...press I to ignore, s to skip or m for manual... At this point I'm lost and unsure what to do. My laptop Toshiba Equium A210-17I is over 5 or 6 years old. Available space on the Hard Drive is 24gb. 2gb RAM. It originally came with Windows Vista Home Premium edition but about a year ago or more a friend wiped it clean for me as I was having no end of problems with Vista. He installed Windows 7 Ultimate(which I don't have a disc for). How can I resolve this issue and get Ubuntu to boot up? Do I have to install a previous version of Ubuntu first? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards. Beetle.

• Tomcat 6 configuration example for Ubuntu Linux?

  I'm very new to Tomcat and I'm having some issues figuring out how to set it up. I set it up on Ubuntu Linux and started reading and trying to follow the information given on the apache website here: http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/deployer-howto.html Apparently I'm missing something. I have a WAR named MyWebapp.war and it's in a directory /home/mywebapp. In /etc/tomcat6/Catalina/localhost/MyWebapp.xml, I have the following line: <Context path="/MyWebapp" docBase="/home/mywebapp" antiResourceLocking="false" /> Everything else is the default configuration that came with tomcat6 via the Ubuntu package. When I restart Tomcat and try to go to http://localhost:8080/MyWebapp, I get a 404. The WAR file isn't unpacked and nothing seems to be working. I'm going to be deploying two Grails applications on this server with Tomcat. Is there a more straight forward way to do this?

• How to stop an Android Service ONLY when there are no other activities in my app running?

  Is there a way I can test if there are any other activities in my app still alive? I am looking to stop a service in an onDestroy method, but only want to do this if there are no other activities from my app still alive on the stack. I have the call stop the service in the main activity's onDestroy() method. This works perfect EXCEPT that if a user launches my app, then launches a few activities in my app, then hits the home screen and RELAUNCHES my app, they will subvert my order and the main activity will now be above other activities of my app. From this state, if they hit the back button and 'back out' of my home screen they will trigger the onDestroy() method and kill the service even though there are other activities open on the stack. I want to avoid this by stopping the service ONLY if I am sure there are no other activities of mine open on the stack. Possible?

• cannot access localhost using ip

  I have done a small web development project using eclipse. It runs well when I try running it on browser with url localhost:8080/myproject/home.html. But if I want to access it on another machine (laptop, mobile, etc. using the same wifi) it is not possible; it is not able to connect. After Googling for a while found out that I have to use the IP address instead of 'localhost'. So I tried 10.0.0.4:8080/myproject/home.html, but still does not work. In fact i am unable to open that url on the same machine (where localhost:8080/myproject/home.html works fine). I also added a new Inbound rule in control panel firewall settings, allowing access to all ports for protocol TCP. Still have problem in running application with the url 10.0.0.4:8080/myproject/home.html (both on same machine as well as laptop and mobile). • Installing Xubuntu alongside with UEFI

  For the past week and a half I have been trying to figure out how to install Xubuntu 13.10 alongside the Windows 7 install I have on my laptop (ASUS X501A with UEFI) and I'm pretty much at my wit's end. Could someone point me to set of thorough instructions on installing Xubuntu (or any of the Ubuntu derivatives) on a HDD under UEFI alongside Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium? Preferably one that also covers GRUB/bootloader problems that come afterwards. A few additional details: Motherboard does have UEFI. I've disabled Secure Boot and Fast Boot. Launch CSM is enabled and the platform keys are not installed (these settings allow me to at least boot Windows 7). I set the HDD's partition table to GPT through GParted before I installed Windows. I'm installing from a bootable USB that has been created through a tool called Rufus with the GPT partition scheme for UEFI computers option, otherwise I've left it at default. I am able to boot into Xubuntu in UEFI mode, but I'd much rather be able to see the option: Install Xubuntu Alongside Windows 7 (or however it's phrased), Xubuntu seems to be unable to recognize that Windows 7 is installed. I do have access to a bootable USB stick containing GParted though Xubuntu seems to come preinstalled with it. If there's anything else that might be of help, please let me know.

• Ubuntu 12.04 Freezes at Bootup

  I have an Acer Aspire One Model AO722, that has a dual-boot configuration with Windows 7 Home Premium and Ubuntu 12.04. Processor: AMD C-50, 1.00GHz 2.00GB ram, 64-bit, AMD Radeon HD 6250 Graphics. I installed Ubuntu two days ago, and since then, loading it has been sporadic. Windows 7 still loads just fine, but Ubuntu will sometimes freeze. First time I booted Ubuntu up, it ran no problem. Worked with it for half an hour, then shut down the computer. The second time I booted it up, it froze after ten minutes when I was trying to set up Thunderbird. Third time, same thing. Fourth time, it froze about 5 minutes after bootup when I was trying to connect to my wifi. Fifth time, it ran no problems for about 5~ hours. Then, three consecutive times I've restarted (what is it, the 6th, 7th, and 8th times?) it has gotten to the login screen, I've entered my password, all the text on the page disappears as if its going to load my desktop, and it freezes. A minute ago when I booted Ubuntu up for the 9th time, it loaded the desktop fine. Who knows if it'll crash soon; probably, though. Any ideas?
