  • Recommended Server RAM for SQL Full Text Search (FTS)

    - by David
    I gather SQL Server 2008 Express requires a minimum of 512MB RAM to be installed to run on Windows Server 2003, however will this be sufficient to also run Full Text Search on about 50,000 records? I don't want to pay too much and I have seen a 512MB RAM VPS option that interests me. Thanks

  • Windows 7 driver search woefully slow

    - by askvictor
    Any thoughts on why the driver search (when installing a usb device) on windows 7 is woefully slow? Even when I click to disable trying to get a driver from windows update, it still takes 10min+ to either find a driver, or bail out. Is there a way to speed this up, or alternately, disable windows trying to find drivers, so I can manually install them in device manager?

  • Bookmarking service search

    - by CChriss
    I use Diigo, but I'm looking for alternatives to it. The main feature I need (that most don't have) is the ability to search on the full page text. Diigo does this, but I was hoping there might be others out there to choose from too. If you know of one, I'd even consider locally installed programs that have this ability, but I do prefer web-based tools for this.

  • Idempotent Powershell word search/replace across documents with headers, change tracking, etc

    - by user61633
    I've found one or two guides to doing a word search and replace across multiple documents with powershell. They work well on simple documents. However, the script ignores text in headers and footers; and if "track changes" is enabled, it replaces text which has already been replaced, resulting in multiple copies of the new text if I run the script more than once on the same file. Any clues as to how I can avoid these undesirable behaviors and make this script robust?

  • Copy and paste RESULTS of a file search

    - by ray023
    In order for me to get the results of a file search in a readable format, I use the following command line in a command prompt: dir *.* /s > myResultList.txt I then open that list in Excel, use fixed width format to get rid of all the stuff I don't want and then I have my list. Seems like a lot to do for something so simple. Does anyone out there have any recommendations for something that would work better than this?

  • Advanced grep, where string doesn't begin with a URL

    - by Webnet
    I'm seeing tons of error logs on our site that are looking for favicon.ico. The favicon is now hosted off of amazon S3 but it appears somewhere we still have a link to the old one that I can't find anywhere (I'm a new employee here so I'm not too familiar with things). How can I do a grep search for favicon.ico that doesn't start with http://s3.amazon.com ?

  • Searching major search engines with text such as <%#

    - by Daniel Dyson
    If I type '<%# vs <%"' into any of the major search engines, everything is stripped out except the 'vs'. I understand why they do this. I would just like to know if anyone knows of a way to escape illegal characters so that they are searched properly. I know this is not strictly a programming question, but it is relevant.

  • Delphi - threads and FindFirst function

    - by radu-barbu
    Hi, I'm encountering a big problem when i'm trying to make a recursive search function inside a thread (using delphi 7) bellow is the code: TParcFicDir = class(TThread) private several variables.. protected procedure Execute; override; public constructor Create(CreateSuspended: Boolean); constructor TParcFicDir.Create(CreateSuspended: Boolean); begin inherited Create(CreateSuspended); end; procedure TParcFicDir.Execute; begin try FindFiles(FStartDir,FMask);//'c:\' and '*.*' except on e:Exception do end; end; procedure TParcFicDir.FindFiles(StartDir, FileMask: string); var wTmp : string; f:TextFile; wTempSR:TSearchRec; function Search(StartDir, FileMask: string): string; var SR : TSearchRec; IsFound : Boolean; files : integer; dirs : integer; t : string; begin try files := 0; dirs := 0; if StartDir[length(StartDir)] <> '\' then StartDir := StartDir + '\'; try IsFound := (FindFirst(StartDir + '*.*', faAnyFile, SR) = 0);// here the thread gets interrupted except on e: Exception do end; while IsFound do begin if (SR.Name <> '.') and (SR.Name <> '..') then if ((SR.Attr and faDirectory) <> 0) then if FScanDirs then begin inc(dirs); t := Search(StartDir + SR.Name, FileMask); try files := files + strtoint(copy((t), 0, pos('#', t) - 1));//old code, don't take on calcul; Delete(t, 1, pos('#', t)); dirs := dirs + strtoint(t); except on e: Exception do end; begin t := StartDir + SR.Name; wTmp := t; wtmp := ''; Inc(FDirNo); writeln(f,t); inc(filno); end; end else if ScanFiles then begin inc(filno); inc(files); end; IsFound := FindNext(SR) = 0; end; Result := IntToStr(files) + '#' + IntToStr(dirs); sysutils.FindClose(SR); except on e: Exception do end; end; begin filno := 0; try try if trim(FPathFileTmp)<>'' then AssignFile(f, FPathFileTmp+'Temp.bak') else AssignFile(f,ExtractFileDir(GetDllName)+'\Temp.bak'); Rewrite(f); Search(StartDir, FileMask); if StartDir[length(StartDir)] = '\' then delete(StartDir, length(StartDir), 1); wTmp := StartDir; wTmp := ''; if FindFirst(StartDir, faDirectory, wTempSR) = 0 then writeln(f); writeln(f); CloseFile(f); except on e: Exception do end; finally end; end; ok, probably the code is a little messed up, but i don't understand why the thread ends at 'findfirst' part....i googled it, no results. any help will be appreciated! Thanks in advance

  • How can I reset addAttributeToFilter in Magento searches

    - by Bobby
    I'm having problems getting the addAttributeToFilter function within a loop to behave in Magento. I have test data in my store to support searches for all of the following data; $attributeSelections=array( array('size' => 44, 'color' => 67, 'manufacturer' => 17), array('size' => 43, 'color' => 69, 'manufacturer' => 17), array('size' => 42, 'color' => 70, 'manufacturer' => 17)); And my code to search through these combinations; foreach ($attributeSelections as $selection) { $searcher = Mage::getSingleton('catalogsearch/advanced')->getProductCollection(); foreach ($selection as $k => $v) { $searcher->addAttributeToFilter("$k", array('eq' => "$v")); echo "$k: $v<br />"; } $result=$searcher->getData(); print_r($result); } This loop gives the following results (slightly sanitised for veiwing pleasure); size: 44 color: 67 manufacturer: 17 Array ( [0] => Array ( [entity_id] => 2965 [entity_type_id] => 4 [attribute_set_id] => 28 [type_id] => simple [sku] => 1006-0001 [size] => 44 [color] => 67 [manufacturer] => 17 ) ) size: 43 color: 69 manufacturer: 17 Array ( [0] => Array ( [entity_id] => 2965 [entity_type_id] => 4 [attribute_set_id] => 28 [type_id] => simple [sku] => 1006-0001 [size] => 44 [color] => 67 [manufacturer] => 17 ) ) size: 42 color: 70 manufacturer: 17 Array ( [0] => Array ( [entity_id] => 2965 [entity_type_id] => 4 [attribute_set_id] => 28 [type_id] => simple [sku] => 1006-0001 [size] => 44 [color] => 67 [manufacturer] => 17 ) ) So my loop is function and generating the search. However, the values fed into addAttributeToFilter on the first itteration of the loop seem to remain stored for each search. I've tried clearing my search object, for example, unset($searcher) and unset($result). I've also tried magento functions such as getNewEmptyItem(), resetData(), distinct() and clear() but none have the desired effect. Basically what I am trying to do is check for duplicate products before my script attempts to programatically create a product with these attribute combinations. The array of attribute selections may be of varying sizes hence the need for a loop. I would be very appreiciative if anyone might be able to shed some light on my problem.

  • netsnmp - how to register string?

    - by user1495181
    I use net-snmp. I try to add my own mibs (no need in handler, just a MIB that i can get and set by snmp call), so i followed the scalar example. In order to add my own mibs i defined them in the mib file and create an agent extension.(see below). It work, so i have now an integer MIB. Now i want to add string mib, so i define the MIB , but i dont find a register API for string, like i have for the int - netsnmp_register_int_instance. I look in the includes file , but dosnt found matching one. agent: #include <net-snmp/net-snmp-config.h> #include <net-snmp/net-snmp-includes.h> #include <net-snmp/agent/net-snmp-agent-includes.h> #include "monitor.h" static int int_init = 0; /* default value */ void init_monitor(void) { oid open_connections_count_oid[] = { 1, 3, 6, 1, 4, 1, 8075, 1, 0 }; netsnmp_register_int_instance("open_connections_count", open_connections_count_oid, OID_LENGTH(open_connections_count_oid), &int_init, NULL); }

  • tail -f and then exit on matching string

    - by Patrick
    I am trying to configure a startup script which will startup tomcat, monitor the catalina.out for the string "Server startup", and then run another process. I have been trying various combinations of tail -f with grep and awk, but haven't got anything working yet. The main issue I am having seems to be with forcing the tail to die after grep or awk have matched the string. I have simplified to the following test case. test.sh is listed below: #!/bin/sh rm -f child.out ./child.sh > child.out & tail -f child.out | grep -q B child.sh is listed below: #!/bin/sh echo A sleep 20 echo B echo C sleep 40 echo D The behavior I am seeing is that grep exits after 20 seconds , however the tail will take a further 40 seconds to die. I understand why this is happening - tail will only notice that the pipe is gone when it writes to it which only happens when data gets appended to the file. This is compounded by the fact that tail is to be buffering the data and outputting the B and C characters as a single write (I confirmed this by strace). I have attempted to fix that with solutions I found elsewhere, such as using unbuffer command, but that didn't help. Anybody got any ideas for how to get this working how I expect it? Or ideas for waiting for successful Tomcat start (thinking about waiting for a TCP port to know it has started, but suspect that will become more complex that what I am trying to do now). I have managed to get it working with awk doing a "killall tail" on match, but I am not happy with that solution. Note I am trying to get this to work on RHEL4.
