  • ASP.NET MVC Default URL View

    - by Moose Factory
    I'm trying to set the Default URL of my MVC application to a view within an area of my application. The area is called "Common", the controller "Home" and the view "Index". I've tried setting the defaultUrl in the forms section of web.config to "~/Common/Home/Index" with no success. I've also tried mapping a new route in global.asax, thus: routes.MapRoute( "Area", "{area}/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { area = "Common", controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } ); Again, to no avail.

  • Port forwarding in C#/software possible? Isn't it only managed by the router?

    - by Rudi
    Isn't port forwarding managed by the router? Like, I've googled up some software applications that seem to port forward with great success, but it technically seems to be impossible. The packet must first go to the router. The router must forward it to the correct computer based on port forwarding rules. So how can a software application manage port forwarding if the packet must GO to the computer running this software application in the first place, meaning that port forwarding already is successful in the first place?

  • Mercator projection world map with Geoserver and Openlayers

    - by bjax-bjax
    I'm trying to render a world map shapefile on my Geoserver with a Mercator projection. I've tried declaring the SRS on Geoserver and defining EPSG projections of 3785 or 900913 in Openlayers with no success. I've also tried to reproject the shapefile using ogr2ogr but the result is slightly off. Original: Converted: Here's the command used: ogr2ogr -t_srs EPSG:3785 target.shp source.shp I'm new to this technology & mapping concepts. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

  • C# Document Scanning

    - by ErocM
    I have a document storage application that I need to integrate with a scanner software or create one on my own. I have very limited funding so buying an expensive alternative isn't really an option. I thought about just linking to the customer's scanning software's executable and opening it when they want to scan but that just seems like a bad way of doing it. Anyone have any suggestions on how I do this? Thanks as usual, Eroc

  • How to call a javascript function from a servlet?

    - by sunnyj
    I submit a (jsp) form to a Servlet A. Then I handle some logic which would make the submission either a success or a failure. I use jquery's ajaxForm() function to re-direct the user to a different jsp after the Servlet logic is executed. But before this redirection happens I need to show a javascript notification showing whether the submission was successful or not. Can someone tell me how can I do this?

  • reCaptcha integration with php

    - by Neil Bradley
    Hi there, I'm building a contact us page that also uses a reCaptcha, but im having a few issues with it. I fill in all of the fields in the contact form and the correct reCaptcha words, but the form does not submit. I'm assuming this is something to do with the validation, but wondered if someone might be able to spot where i'm going wrong? The PHP code at the top of my page looks like this; <?php include('includes/session.php'); $err = ''; $success = ''; if(isset($_POST["docontact"]) && $_POST["docontact"] == "yes") { //get form details $form = new stdClass(); $form->name = sanitizeOne($_POST["name"], "str"); $form->email = sanitizeOne($_POST["email"], "str"); $form->phone = sanitizeOne($_POST["phone"], "str"); $form->mysevenprog = sanitizeOne($_POST["mysevenprog"], "str"); $form->enquiry = sanitizeOne($_POST["enquiry"], "str"); $form->howfindsite = sanitizeOne($_POST["howfindsite"], "str"); //Check for errors (required: name, email, enquiry) if($form->name == "") { $err .= '<p class="warning">Please enter your name!</p>'; } if($form->email == "") { $err .= '<p class="warning">Please enter your email address!</p>'; } if($form->enquiry == "") { $err .= '<p class="warning">Please supply an enquiry message!</p>'; } //Send Email if($err == "") { $mailer = new BlueMailer(); $mailer->AddAddress(Configuration::getVar("developer_email"), Configuration::getVar("admin_email_name")); include('templates/email/contact-us-admin.php'); if(!$mailer->Send()) { $err .= "<p>There was an error sending submitting your request!, Please try again later."; } else { $success = 'thanks'; } } } else { //Initialise empty variables $form = new stdClass(); $form->name = ""; $form->email = ""; $form->phone = ""; $form->mysevenprog = ""; $form->enquiry = ""; $form->howfindsite = ""; } ?> And then in the body of my page I have the form as follows; <?php if($err != "") : ?> <div class="error"> <?php echo $err; ?> </div> <?php endif; ?> <?php if($success == 'thanks') : ?> <h3>Thank you for your enquiry</h3> <p>Your enquiry has been successfully sent.   • Dynamic content doesn't work when loaded with ajax

    - by Wurlitzer
    I'm trying to load some dynamic content after the user has logged in, using $.ajax, like so: $.ajax({ url: "functions.php", type: "GET", data: login_info, datatype: 'html', async: false, success: function (response) { $('#main').html(response); } }); The problem is, that some events don't work, when loaded this way. I fixed the buttons with the .live() method, but a sortable list for example, doesn't work. How can I somehow refresh the DOM, and let jquery know of these new added elements? Thanks!

  • ASP.NET Elements are null when assigning data source

    - by deccks
    For some reason, all of the objects in my ASP.NET markup are now null when I try to assign values to their properties in the code behind. My project was going fine and then now when I try to assign a data source to a GridView, I get a null reference error. I have no idea why it's doing this. I am not doing nothing special. I am just trying to assign a value to a property to an asp.net element in on the page. The intellisense knows that the element is there and I get no errors when I build the project. It's just when I am running the website I get the null reference. I have been trying to fix this issue for a couple weeks now. Please Help. Thanks. Here is the code: protected void Page_PreRender(object sender, EventArgs e) { LoadData(); } private void LoadData() { Entities context = new Entities(); var types = (from t in context.CustomerTypes select t).OrderBy(t => t.TypeName); gvCustomerTypes.DataSource = types; gvCustomerTypes.DataBind(); } and on in the markup the gridview looks like this: <asp:GridView ID="gvCustomerTypes" runat="server" ShowHeader="true" GridLines="Both" AutoGenerateColumns="false" AlternatingRowStyle-BackColor="AliceBlue" Width="100%"> <Columns> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Customer Type Name" HeaderStyle-HorizontalAlign="Left" ItemStyle-HorizontalAlign="Left"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:Label ID="lblType" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("TypeName") %>' /> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Edit" HeaderStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" ItemStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:HyperLink ID="HyperLink1" NavigateUrl='<%#Eval("CustomerTypeID", "CreateEditCustomerType.aspx?ID={0}") %>' Text="Edit" runat="server" /> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Delete" HeaderStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" ItemStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:LinkButton ID="LinkButton1" CommandName='<%#Eval("CustomerTypeID") %>' OnClientClick="javascript:return confirm('Are you sure you want to delete this Customer Type?');" OnCommand="DeleteCustomerType" Text="Delete" runat="server" /> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> </Columns> </asp:GridView>

  • Rails page caching and flash messages

    - by KJF
    I'm pretty sure I can page cache the vast majority of my site but the one thing preventing me from doing so is that my flash messages will not show, or they'll show at the wrong time. One thing I'm considering is writing the flash message to a cookie, reading it and displaying it via javascript and clearing the cookie once the message has been displayed. Has anyone had any success doing this or are there better methods? Thanks.

  • Live search results as you type... am I going about this the right way? jQuery + PHP

    - by dallen
    This is my first time building a tool like this, so please bare with me. I'm doing this to learn more about jQuery and AJAX. Basically, I have a search input and a hidden div. When you start typing in the search input, the hidden div becomes visible and results are brought in. In this case, I'm searching for client names. It all works fine, however I think my code could be better but I'm not sure exactly where to begin. Each keyup requests a PHP script which accesses a table in a database to find a like string. But in my PHP script, I'm echo'ing some JS/jQuery which I'm not sure is good practice. Below is my code. Am I going about this the right way or am I totally off base? Any suggestions for improvement? Javascript $("#search").keyup(function() { $("#search_results").show("fast"); $.ajax ({ type: "POST", url: "http://localhost:8888/index.php/welcome/search/" + $("#search").val(), success: function(html) { $("#search_results").html(html); } }); }); PHP function search($search_string = false) { if ($search_string) { $this->db->like('name', $search_string); $query = $this->db->get('clients'); if ($query->num_rows() == 0) { echo "No client exists."; } else { foreach ($query->result() as $row) { echo '<script>'; echo ' $("#client_results_'.$row->id.'").hide(); $("#'.$row->id.'").toggle(function() { $.ajax ({ type: "POST", url: "http://localhost:8888/index.php/welcome/search_client_ads/" + '.$row->id.', success: function(html) { $("#client_results_'.$row->id.'").html(html).show("fast"); } }); }, function() { $("#client_results_'.$row->id.'").hide("fast").html(""); });'; echo '</script>'; echo '<p><span id="'.$row->id.'">'.$row->name.'</span></p>'; echo '<div id="client_results_'.$row->id.'"></div>'; } } } else { echo ''; } } function search_client_ads($client_id) { $query = $this->db->get_where('online_ads', array('client' => $client_id)); if ($query->num_rows() == 0) { echo "No ads exist."; } else { foreach ($query->result() as $row) { echo $row->id; } } }
