• Ignore designer and generated files in Resharper analysis

  I've been using Resharper for a few days and I really like this tool, but there's one thing that annoys me about it and I wonder if it can be changed. I'm getting lots of issue notifications from generated code (almost 1400 in my project). I'd want to set those files as ignored so they won't be checked as you can do with StyleCop and CodeAnalysis. Unfortunatelly it looks like Resharper ignores Generated Code settings from it's options because I'm still getting the same notifications. I've tried setting a file mask (i.e. for *.resx) and add files manually to generated, but still it doesn't change anything. I don't know if it matters but I'm using VS 2010.

• Is there a script that can dynamically list the contents of a folder?

  I am redesigning my company's intranet site in Wordpress and one of the things they need is an archive of company memos. There are over 300 memos saved in one location and I'm wondering if there is a jQuery script that I can run that will read the contents of a local (network) folder and auto-generate a list of the contents of that folder dynamically (and generate those names as a hyperlink to that file, but if I can list the files, I can get include the hyperlink tag myself). I can always manually create the list of hyperlinks (would take a couple days to do so) but if I can generate it dynamically, whenever a new memo is added, the script will automatically include it making the site much easier to maintain. Is this at all possible? I know that this can probably be done in PHP, but the page I need to do this on is not a php page, it is one of the subpages that is created in wordpress that does not have a php file extension and can't run php code (that I know of) Thanks in advance for any and all assistance.

Since the Web Application is load balanced on different server, i am looking for suggestions to Alternative Store for the Session data that all server will be able to access. Some sessions could live up to severals days. The solutions that come to my mind: - Native PHP Sessions (this is the one i want to stop using) - MySQL Database - Serialize and write to a file (i want to avoid this, for performances) - Memcache (however it could become very big or older data getting knocked out) Thanks in advance!

• Store data in Ruby on Rails without Database

  I have a few data values that I need to store on my rails app and wanted to know if there are any alternatives to creating a database table just to do this simple task. Background: I'm writing some analytics and dashboard tools for my ruby on rails app and i'm hoping to speed up the dashboard by caching results that will never change. Right now I pull all users for the last 30 days, and re arange them so I can see the number of new users per day. It works great but takes quite a long time, in reality I should only need to calculate the most recent day and just store the rest of the array somewhere else. Where is the best way to store this array? Creating a database table seems a bit overkill, and i'm not sure that global variables are the correct answer. Is there a best practice for persisting data like this? If anyone has done anything like this before let me know what you did and how it turned out.

  Good Days, I have recently developed a web application in ASP.NET for a marketer that he has been sending emails to his potential customers to fill out a web form existing in this ASP.NET application. Recently, he received an email from his hosting company saying that they will suspend his account because his emails were triggered by SpamCop. • symlink files newer than X age, then later remove symlink once file ages?

  Hello everyone, i have a large number of files/folders coming in each day that are being sorted automatically to a wide variety of folders. I'm looking for a way to automatically find these files/folders and create symlinks to them all within an "incoming" folder. Searching for file age should be sufficient for finding the files, however searching for age and owner would be ideal. Then once the files/folders being linked to reach a certain age, say 5 days, remove the symlinks to them automatically from the "incoming" folder. Is this possible to do with a simple shell or python script that can be run with cron? Thanks!

• How can I debug a Perl program that suddenly exits?

  I have Perl program based on IO::Async, and it sometimes just exits after a few hours/days without printing any error message whatsoever. There's nothing in dmesg or /var/log either. STDOUT/STDERR are both autoflush(1) so data shouldn't be lost in buffers. It doesn't actually exit from IO::Async::Loop->loop_forever - print I put there just to make sure of that never gets triggered. Now one way would be to keep peppering the program with more and more prints and hope one of them gives me some clue. Is there better way to get information what was going on in a program that made it exit/silently crash?

  I've got a database with pre-aggregated metrics similar to the one outlined in this use case: http://docs.mongodb.org/manual/use-cases/pre-aggregated-reports/ I have a daily collection with a subdocument for hour and minute metrics, and a 'metadata.date' entry for midnight on the day it represents. I also have a monthly collection with a day subdocument for each day. If I want to get an average of a metric over the past eight or so days how can I do that with the aggregation framework? Is the aggregation framework not the right tool for this since it's already pre-aggregated?

• Unknown Column 'template' in where clause, while using a stored procedure.

  Hello, I have a stored procedure, which has got executed without any errors, but gives me an error "#1054: Unknown column 'templateName' in where clause" when I run it. • Is it possible to run node script from a web page as differnt user?

  I'am searching for days now but could not get an answer. I would like to do the following: User connects to editor.html (Apache2 with basic http auth) User want to open a file on the server with his user/pass (same as in passwd) Node.js Script gets startet with user rights from above and user can edit file The Node Script will handly the connection via websockets and read/writes files. I think the biggest problem is that its not possible to run a node script on the server from a web page... and I don´t want to involve any php/cgi scripts... only Apache and Node.js / JS. • ImageView Force closes my application

I create a TabActivity and it has three Activity(tab1,tab2,tab3).I wanna realize that if I press a button in tab1,then TextView in tab2 can be changed. I've tried Intent and Bundle , but that didn't work and force close . Maybe because of the TabActivity I think . 2. If I have a layout and there are many TextView on it. But some are out of the screen. How can I scroll the screen? 3. Is it possible that TextView in Tablelayout can be clicked ? I've sreached there problems on Google for there days but still bother me . Really need help, Thanks :)

  Hi All These days I am reading the pdf Designing MT programs . It explains that the user MUST explicitly call detach() on an object of class std::thread in C++0x before that object gets out of scope. If you don't call it std::terminate() will be called and the application will die. I usually use boost::thread for threading in C++. Correct me if I am wrong but a boost::thread object detaches automatically when it get out of scope. Is seems to me that the boost approach follow a RAII principle and the std doesn't. • Admin now missing from Authors dropdown

  I've been running my Wordpress install for months with 2 users, the original administrator which I use and another admin account created for my co-admin. We've been posting fine, no issues, all was great. Two days ago I created another user, and now whenever I log in as the original admin (my account) I am no longer in the authors dropdown list. Any new users I create show up, but my original account is no longer listed. I can't figure out what's going on, nor how to restore myself.

• Having a UITextField in a UITableViewCell

  Hi! I'm trying to do that for a couple of days now, and after reading tons of messages of people trying to do that too, I'm still unable to have a fully working UITextField in some of my UITableViewCells, just like in this example: http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/4858/picture4za3.png Either I have the form working but the text is not visible (although I set its color to blue), the keyboard goes on the field when I click on it and I haven't been able to correctly implement the keyboard events. I tried with a bunch of examples from Apple (mainly UICatalog, where there is a kinda similar control) but it's still not working correctly. Can somebody help me (and all the people trying to realize this control) and post a simple implementation of a UITextField in a UITableViewCell, that works fine? Thank you very much.

• using arrays to get best memory alignment and cache use, is it necessary?

  I'm all about performance these days cause I'm developing my first game engine. I'm no c++ expert but after some research I discovered the importance of the cache and the memory alignment. Basically what I found is that it is recommended to have memory well aligned specially if you need to access them together, for example in a loop. Now, In my project I'm doing my Game Object Manager, and I was thinking to have an array of GameObjects references. meaning I would have the actual memory of my objects one after the other. static const size_t MaxNumberGameObjects = 20; GameObject mGameObjects[MaxNumberGameObjects]; But, as I will be having a list of components per object -Component based design- (Mesh, RigidBody, Transformation, etc), will I be gaining something with the array at all? Anyway, I have seen some people just using a simple std::map for storing game objects. So what do you guys think? Am I better off using a pure component model?

• MySQL Query, Date Range From "Blacklist"

  I have 2 databases. One is properties and the other is dates. In dates I have associated the land_id and a date (In YYYYMMDD format) which means that the date is not available. I need to formulate a query that a user can specify a start and end date, and then choose a property for which dates are available (not in the date database). How do airline and hotel websites do this kind of logic? I was thinking about taking the date range and picking all days in between and doing a query where the dates do not match and ordering it by number of results, but I can see how that could easily turn into an intense query.   We like to think that a memory access is fast and constant, but on modern architectures/OSes, that's not necessarily true. Consider the following C code: int i = 34; int *p = &i; // do something that may or may not involve i and p {...} // 3 days later: *p = 643; What is the estimated cost of this last assignment in CPU instructions, if i is in L1 cache, i is in L2 cache, i is in L3 cache, i is in RAM proper, i is paged out to an SSD disk, i is paged out to a traditional disk? Where else can i be? Of course the numbers are not absolute, but I'm only interested in orders of magnitude. I tried searching the webs, but Google did not bless me this time.

• Help, I need to debug my BrowserHelperObject (BHO) (in C++) after a internet explorer 8 crash in Rel

  Hi, here is the situation, i'm developping a Browser Helper Object (BHO) in C++ with Visual Studio 2008, and i learned that the memory wasn't managed the same way in Debug mode than in Release mode. So when i run my BHO in debug mode, internet explorer 8 works just fine and i got no erros at all, the browser stays alive forever, but as soon as i compile it in release mode, i got no errors, no message, nothing, but after 5 minutes i can see through the task manager that internet explorer instances are just eating memory and then the browser just stop responding every time. Please, I really need some hint on how to get a feedback on what could be the error. I heard that, often it was happening because of memory mismanagement. I need a software that just grab a memory dump or something when iexplorer crashes to help me find the problem. Any help is appreciated, I'll be looking for responses every single days, thank you.

• how to calculate the beginning of a day given milliseconds?

  i want to figure out the time from the beginning of the day given a days milliseconds. so say i'm given this: 1340323100024 which is like mid day of 6/21/2012. now i want the milliseconds from the beginning of the day, which would be 1340262000000 (at least i think that's what it's supposed to be.) how do i get 1340262000000 from 1340323100024? i tried doing Math.floor(1340323100024/86400000) * 86400000 but that gives me 1340236800000, which if i create a date object out of it, says its the 20th. i know i can create a date object from 1340323100024, then get the month, year, and date, to create a new object which would give me 1340262000000, but i find it ridiculous i can't figure out something so simple. any help would be appreciated. btw, i'm doing this in javascript if it makes any difference.

• Website/App on Dotcloud is down

  The website is nhslhs.tk . The last time I edited something was four days ago. I tried to get a calendar on the Django datable, but deleted it all and never actually pushed it to the Dotcloud server. Also, few hours before that I was able to update HTML files, push them, and see the edits on the website. The link should take you to a log-in page (this is available when you google "nhslhs.tk" and click cache view) but it takes you to a search magnified advertisement-esque page. On a few sites, people claimed the error was due to a Trojan horse virus or server being down. Do you know how to fix this? Thanks!

• jQuery cookie behaves differently on local machine vs production server

  I'm setting a jQuery cookie for some site javascript effects. I'm setting expiration date to 30 days. On local development machine cookie expiration is set properly, whereas on production expiration is being set to end of session. After inspecting the created cookies with web develoer tools, everything is identical except production machine cookie is marked as "session cookie" and setting expiration is disallowed, while cookie created on local development machine is not set to "session" and expiration date is editable. Is there a way to make production machine cookie accept the expiration date? This is how I set the cookie: $.cookie('skip_animation','skip', 2592000); Using jQuery 1.6.4 (legacy site) All browsers behave the same way

  If I have a pair of dates, and I want to generate a list of all the dates between them (inclusive), I can do something like: System.DateTime s = new System.DateTime(2010, 06, 05); System.DateTime e = new System.DateTime(2010, 06, 09); var list = Enumerable.Range(0, (e - s).Days) .Select(value => s.AddDays(value)); What I'm stuck on is that I've got a list of pairs of dates that I want to explode into a list of all the dates between them. Example: {2010-05-06, 2010-05-09}, {2010-05-12, 2010-05-15} should result in {2010-05-06, 2010-05-07, 2010-05-08, 2010-05-09, 2010-05-12, 2010-05-13, 2010-05-14, 2010-05-15} Note the pairs of dates are guaranteed not to overlap each other.
