• PHP - not sure how to ask - regarding variables and $_POST

  I have a PHP form. The form works but I'm trying to test to see if a value other than the first item has been selected. • How to use SSL with a WCF web service?

  I have a web service in asp.net running and everything works fine. Now I need to access some methods in that web-service using SSL. It works perfect when I contact the web-service using http:// but with https:// I get "There was no endpoint listening at https://...". Can you please help me on how to set up my web.config to support both http and https access to my web service. I have tried to follow guidelines but I can't get it working.   I have a simple webpage which generates a random quote from my database upon refreshing the page. I wish to implement some AJAX and JQuery in order to generate quotes via the button rather than having to refresh the page. I have done some research but I am not sure how to implement this in Codeigniter. My current code is below... • Problems with DNS propagation 10 days after a change was made

  The engineering team I work with has been in the process of moving equipment from one datacenter to another. Ten days ago we moved one of our name servers authoritative for our client's domains (ns1.faithhiway.com) and updated its IP address with its respective DNS provider (register.com) to point to the new datacenter. All tests done show that this name server is correctly running at its new location and when queried, returning the correct response for any domains it is responsible for. The problem is that well after 72 hours had gone by we were still seeing more DNS activity at its old IP address than at the new. The good news is that we kept a name server responding on the old IP address for the time being so we are not seeing any issues with the domains our nameserver is responsible for but the goal is to retire that as soon as possible. As you can see from WhatsMyDNS.net, a decent amount of propagation has occurred over the last 10 days since we made this change, but still there are some locations reporting our original IP. Considering that the TTL is only 3600 with the name servers responsible for this domain, it does not make any sense to myself or the other engineers working with me that we are having this issue. But a few (OpenDNS and SpeakEasy in the examples above) are still showing the old IP address. Considering the length of time that has gone by, it seems obvious to me that either we have made a mistake and not thoroughly handled the DNS changes on our end (likely) or there is a problem with either the DNS provider for this domain (Register) or with some of the DNS servers out in the wild (rather unlikely). Any advice on how I can proceed with this? UPDATE (January 31, 2011): First of all, I apologize for the length of both the original question and this update. I contemplated removing some of the excess from the original post but just in case this problem and its solution are helpful to someone else in the future I'm just going to leave everything as it is. Anyway, I've been doing some more research into this problem, and have discovered the following interesting occurrence. While running a check on the glue records for faithhiway.com always resolve correctly, if I go and check a client domain (where ns1.faithhiway.com is authoritative), I get a strange response. It looks like the root servers are returning nsX.faithhiway.com as their old IP addresses still (under Additional Section). Because we have a server still there responding to DNS queries, the trace finishes and returns the correct IP addresses as the final step (again, under Additional Section).   While doing a Complete PC Backup in Windows 7 I received dialog reading: Windows Backup...error The backup did not complete successfully. Open the Backup and Restore Control Panel to view settings From there I clicked the Options button. Windows Backup: Troubleshooting Options Check your backup Windows Backup encountered invalid MediaID.bin file on the drive where the backup is saved. Restore from a different backup or delete the MediaID.bin file and try to create another backup. The MediaID.bin file can be found under \MediaID.Bin & \\MediaId.Bin. I deleted the file in question (MediaID.bin) from X:\ (one of the drives being backedup( and tried the backup again. Next I was presented with a dialog that read: Windows Backups: Troubleshooting Options Check your backup The system connot find the file specified. • Android Title bar leaving space in when application is resumed

  I am using a Tab Host in my Android App. I have the Titlebar hidden. When I leave the App and resume to it, I have some strange behaviour. If I resume to a tab using a list activity with listView.setAdapter, the title bar is hidden and the space it takes up is consumed by the App. However, if I resume to any tab without the listView.setAdapter, the Titlebar is hidden, but space which was used by it is left behind. This is pushes my tabs (which are positioned at the bottom of the screen) off the screen. The space is once again consumed by my app if I then change to any other tab. I have tried to invalidate most of the obvious Views in my App without and success.   I have project in which I need to create an <iframe> element using JavaScript and append it to the DOM. After that, I need to insert some content into the <iframe>. It's a widget that will be embedded in third-party websites. I don't set the "src" attribute of the <iframe> since I don't want to load a page; rather, it is used to isolate/sandbox the content that I insert into it so that I don't run into CSS or JavaScript conflicts with the parent page. I'm using JSONP to load some HTML content from a server and insert it in this <iframe>. I have this working fine, with one serious exception - if the document.domain property is set in the parent page (which it may be in certain environments in which this widget is deployed), Internet Explorer (probably all versions, but I've confirmed in 6, 7, and 8) gives me an "Access is denied" error when I try to access the document object of this <iframe> I've created. It doesn't happen in any other browsers I've tested in (all major modern ones). This makes some sense, since I'm aware that Internet Explorer requires you to set the document.domain of all windows/frames that will communicate with each other to the same value. However, I'm not aware of any way to set this value on a document that I can't access. Is anyone aware of a way to do this - somehow set the document.domain property of this dynamically created <iframe>? Or am I not looking at it from the right angle - is there another way to achieve what I'm going for without running into this problem? I do need to use an <iframe> in any case, as the isolated/sandboxed window is crucial to the functionality of this widget. An error occurred while making the HTTP request to https://localhost:8000/WCFTest/CalculatorService/. This could be due to the fact that the server certificate is not configured properly with HTTP.SYS in the HTTPS case. This could also be caused by a mismatch of the security binding between the client and the server. The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send. Authentication failed because the remote party has closed the transport stream. If the service is defined in the current solution, try building the solution and adding the service reference again. I think I'm missing some fundamental basics here. Do I need to set up some certificates? Or should it all just work as it seems to do when I use NetTcpBinding? Thanks

• How to display and update data in MVC2

  Table Product Product Id Product Name Table ProductSupplier ProductSupplierId ProductId SupplierId Table Supplier SupplierId SupplierName I have the above 3 tables in my database, ProductSupplier is the lookup table. Each Product can have many suppliers. I am using Entity Framework. Using Web Forms it was fairly easy to display a Product on a web page and bind a repeater with the suppliers information. Also, with Web Forms it was easy to Add new Product and suppliers, the linkage seemed easy. How do you do this sort of functionality in MVC? In the Create View below, I want to be able to Add the Supplier as well. Is there a better approach that I might be missing here? This is how I did it with Web Forms. Beyond the code below I am totally lost. I can show data in a list and also display the Suppliers for each Product, but how do I Add and Edit. Should I break it into different views? • CommandBinding broken in inner Custom Control when nesting two Custom Controls of the same type.

  I've done a Custom Control in form of a GroupBox but with an extra header which purpose is to hold a button or a stackpanel with buttons at the other side. I've added the a Dependency Property to hold the extra header and I've connected the customized template. Everything works fine until I put one of these controls in another one. Now the wierd stuff begins(at least in my eyes xP), the command binding in the inner control simply isn't set. I tried to use Snoop to gather some data, the see if the inherits is broken and when I clicked on the buttons which isn't doing what I want it to, boom, breakpoint triggered. So in some wierd way the Command isn't set until something that I don't know what it is, happens, which snoops triggers. I've also tried to put the buttons in the regular Header property and that works fine, but not with my own made. I could just switch places with them to make it like I want but now I'm curious to know where the problem lies... Now I wonder, what can I've missed?   Anybody knows proper python implementation of TEA (Tiny Encryption Algorithm)? I tried the one I've found here: http://sysadminco.com/code/python-tea/ - but it does not seem to work properly. It returns different results than other implementations in C or Java. I guess it's caused by completely different data types in python (or no data types in fact). • Symfony sfDoctrineGuard plugin sfGuardUser module

  When using sfDoctrineGuard plugin, it automatically generates the backend administration functionality where I can edit users of the system and assign them permissions. So I visit http://.../backend_dev.php/sf_guard_user/:id/edit where I am presented with the user's information including the available permissions to select. By default the permissions are shown as a multiple select box, HTML follows: <select name="sf_guard_user[permissions_list][]" multiple="multiple" id="sf_guard_user_permissions_list"> <option value="1">Permission1</option> <option value="2">Permission2</option> <option value="3">Permission3</option> <option value="4">Permission4</option> </select> What I would prefer is a list of checkboxes. So I searched around and found that if I add the option "expanded" set to true to the following code: 'permissions_list' => new sfWidgetFormDoctrineChoice(array('multiple' => true, 'model' => 'sfGuardPermission', 'expanded' => true,)), The code is part of this file: lib/form/doctrine/sfDoctrineGuardPlugin/base/BasesfGuardUserForm.class.php. I don't think I should've edited this file (potential for changes to be overwritten should sfDoctrineGuard ever be re-installed) but couldn't think of another way to make it work. I started writing my own sfWidgetFormDoctrineChoicePermission class that extends the same class as sfWidgetFormDoctrineChoice but am struggling to edit the rendering functions correctly for the desired output. Is this the correct way to go about this work? I also need to integrate my sfGuardUserProfile model into the edit user page (same as above), I read somwhere that editing the generator.yml file for the sfGuardUser plugin module and simply adding the field names from the sfGuardUserProfile table would make it work, but sadly it doesn't.
