  • Problem with usb wireless mouse

    - by aiacet
Recently I have started having problems with my wireless mouse (Wireless Optical Mouse MI-4910D). Sometimes when I start my PC or during a game the pointer/arrow stops moving. When the PC boots the pointer is locked in the center of the screen. If I'm lucky it helps to change the USB wireless adapter from port 1 to port 2 but sometimes this trick doesn't work and I have to restart my PC to get the mouse to work again. Like you can see in the product web page this mouse don't have a driver but only a tool to solve some problems. Thank you in advance to all the "super-users" that reading this question would be help me Ajax

  • Are there any benefits to using a Distributed vSwitch for iSCSI?

    - by dunxd
I am designing our vSphere farm - we'll be migrating from ESX 3.5 to 4.1. I plan to set up a new farm using ESXi 4.1, and move the Virtual Machines on the 3.5 farm into it by shutdown, then import. In ESX 3.5 there is no distributed networking, so each host has a vSwitch connected to my SAN NICs, and a port group for the vmkernel. In vSphere (ESXi 4.1) I have the extra option to set up a distributed vSwitch and distributed port groups for vmkernel to access iSCSI storage. Is there any benefit to this, or should I stick to non-distributed networking for iSCSI.

  • Linux: disbale USB without disabling power

    - by Ergot
TLDR I want toggle between the following usages of a usb-port via the terminal: use like a normal usb-port only supply energy to charge Story I recently got me something like a magna doodle that can save your drawings to pdf, which can be moved to your computer via usb afterwards. Now the thing is that you can't save anything while it's plugged in. Because it's the only way to charge it, it bugs me that I can't find a software solution and laziness I want to keep it plugged in and toggle the connection to the computer only when needed. I noticed that it's charging and usable when it is plugged in and the computer is shut down or suspened. So I guess that there's a way to do it. Tech info computer: ThinkPad X201 Linux Kernel: 3.14.5-1-ARCH "Magna doodle": Boogie Board Sync

  • Cisco Aironet 1200 Series AP Configuration

    - by nonterrorist
I am attempting to configure a new CISCO Aironet 1200 Series Access Point to have a fixed IP. I have been searching online and I have come to the conclusion that the default IP address of this device is 10.0.0.1. These are the steps I have taken: My machine is plugged directly into the Ethernet port (not the Console port) of the AP. My Ethernet adapter is set to 10.0.0.2. I have reset the AP by holding the Mode button while powering up the device. The issue remains that I can not access 10.0.0.1 through the web, nor can I ping that address.

  • Switch 302 redirect to 301 with Apache 2 ProxyPass in front of Tomcat 6

    - by Gearóid
I'm trying to optimise my site for SEO and it seems as though their is a 302 direct in action for the http requests. I'm hosting my app on a Tomcat 6 server which lies behind an Apache 2 server. I use the ProxyPass method (http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/proxy-howto.html) to forward all requests to port 8080 (the port my app is hosted on). I've seen a lot of advice on how to set the redirect type when using the VirtualHost method but none to do with ProxyPass. The app is a Struts app that forwards users on to index.jsp when they hit the base url. Could this also be the issue? I'm grateful for any help on this one! Cheers!

  • Proxy Error 502 "Reason: Error reading from remote server" with Apache 2.2.3 (Debian) mod_proxy and Jetty 6.1.18

    - by Martin
Apache is receiving requests at port :80 and proxying them to Jetty at port :8080 The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server The proxy server could not handle the request GET /. My dilemma: Everything works fine normally (fast requests, few seconds or few tens of seconds long requests are processed ok). Problems occur when request processing takes long (few minutes?). If I issue request instead directly to Jetty at port :8080 the request is processed OK. So problem is likely to sit somewhere between Apache and Jetty where I am using mod_proxy. How to solve this? I have already tried some "tricks" related to KeepAlive settings, without luck. Here is my current configuration, any suggestions? #keepalive Off ## I have tried this, does not help #SetEnv force-proxy-request-1.0 1 ## I have tried this, does not help #SetEnv proxy-nokeepalive 1 ## I have tried this, does not help #SetEnv proxy-initial-not-pooled 1 ## I have tried this, does not help KeepAlive 20 ## I have tried this, does not help KeepAliveTimeout 600 ## I have tried this, does not help ProxyTimeout 600 ## I have tried this, does not help NameVirtualHost *:80 <VirtualHost _default_:80> ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName www.mydomain.fi ServerAlias mydomain.fi mydomain.com mydomain www.mydomain.com ProxyRequests On ProxyVia On <Proxy *> Order deny, allow Allow from all </Proxy> ProxyRequests Off ProxyPass / http://www.mydomain.fi:8080/ retry=1 acquire=3000 timeout=600 ProxyPassReverse / http://www.mydomain.fi:8080/ RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{SERVER_NAME} !^www\.mydomain\.fi RewriteRule /(.*) http://www.mydomain.fi/$1 [redirect=301L] ErrorLog /var/log/apache2/error.log # Possible values include: debug, info, notice, warn, error, crit, # alert, emerg. • How to stop nginx on Mac OS X

    - by Alex Kaushovik
I've installed nginx server on my Mac from MacPorts: sudo port install nginx. Then I followed the recommendation from the port installation console and created the launchd startup item for nginx, then started the server. It works fine (after I renamed nginx.conf.example to nginx.conf and renamed mime.types.example to mime.types), but I couldn't stop it... I tried sudo nginx -s stop - this doesn't stop the server, I can still see "Welcome to nginx!" page in my browser on http://localhost/, also I still see master and worker processes of nginx with ps -e | grep nginx. What is the best way to start/stop nginx on Mac? BTW, I've added "daemon off;" into nginx.conf - as recommended by various resources. Thank you.

  • http server connectivity puzzle

    - by jpmartins
I have been seeing some strange connection issue in the production environment. The setup has two IBM Http Server's (IHS) and a network IP load-balancer in front of them (round-robin). One instance the system is working fine, the next requests stop arriving at the IHS. Telnet directly to port 80 of the IHS is established sucessfully, but connection to the port 80 through the IP of the load-balancer fails! The puzzle comes next, the network admins say the load-balancer is working fine. When we finally reboot the IHS servers and request start flowing... The situation happened three times the last month and no obvious pattern was found. Any debug ideas?

  • Default Webcam Driver Issues

    - by Omegaclawe
I'm having troubles getting my monitor-attached webcam (ASUS VK248H) to install on my new computer. On the old computer, it was a matter of not using a USB 3.0 port, but I can't get anything to work on the new one. I have tried all manner of uninstalling/reinstalling the driver and resetting the computer, as well as literally every USB port on the computer (14 in total). It's not that windows isn't recognizing the device; it most certainly is. However, comparing it to the old computer's driver details, on the new computer, it is not using the ksthunk.sys driver in addition to the usbvideo.sys driver, like on the old (working) computer. Naturally, I figured the way ahead was to simply get this other driver to work with the hardware, but haven't really found out a way to do that. Does anyone know of a way I can force it to use ksthunk.sys? It seems rather difficult to get it to install anything when Windows is feeling that everything is peachy.

  • How do you reset the range of available ports that libvirt autoport can use?

    - by bcmcfc
Libvirt is using its autoport setting to automatically allocate ports within a range starting at 5900. Example excerpt from an XML configuration for a VM: <graphics type='spice' port='6000' autoport='yes' listen='127.0.0.1' keymap='en-gb'> <listen type='address' address='127.0.0.1'/> </graphics> Currently, there are free ports at various points within the range 5900 to 5999. However, newly booted VMs are picking up ports from 6000 on. I need for it to reuse the available ports in the 59xx range. Is this possible? If so, how do I do this? The problem arose because VMs are being accessed via websockets, and it tried to use 6000 which is a reserved port for X11. A solution that explains how to blacklist ports from being picked up by autport would also be sufficient.

  • How to forward connection from one interface to another under linux

    - by Daniel
Hi, I have linux box which has two network interface, eth0, eth1. from eth1 I can access an internal website, say under port 8080. from outside the box, I can't access that network. my question is, is there a way I set up something so from outside the box, there appears to be a web server running in port 8080 and when I connect to it, it automatically forwards to eht1 the internal site? I tried to enable ip forward and add a static route, but it doesn't work. thanks.

  • Tunneling HTTPS traffic via a PUTTY/SSL tunnel with SOCKS

    - by ripper234
I have configured a SOCKS ssh tunnel to a remote proxy, and set my Firefox to use localhost:<port> as a SOCKS proxy. My intention is to tunnel outgoing HTTP/S connections from my machine via a specific 3rd party server I own (on AWS). In my testing, HTTP UTLs are forwarded properly (e.g. when I access http://jsonip.com/ from my computer I do get the server's IP) However, whenever I try to reach an HTTPS address, I get this error: The proxy server is refusing connections How do I debug/fix it? My PUTTY tunnel config is simply (some random source port number + dynamic checked): P.S. I'm aware I might need to manually accept SSL certificates. The reason I'm doing this is to resolve problems using gmail as an outbound SMTP service.

  • Tomcat "connection interrupted" with ssl

    - by Mike Thomsen
I can access Tomcat on port 8080, but not on 8443. When I try o get there, this is the error I get in Firefox: The connection was interrupted The connection to the.fqdn.com:8443 was interrupted while the page was loading. The server cert was generated using EJBCA and should be signed properly. Any suggestions on what is going on?

  • How can I run a game server on a computer behind a NAT, if I have another computer not behind a NAT?

    - by Macha
My home connection is part of a large NAT, outside my control. Inside my home, my router has a NAT, under my control. I control a public facing Linux VPS with one IP address, outside my home network. Ideally, what I'd like to do is set something up so that I connect my home computer to my VPS, and after that port X on my VPS leads to port Y on my home computer, for the purposes of running a game server of a game that does not run under Linux. Is this possible?

  • virtualbox and nginx server_name

    - by Ivan
I'm trying to configure gitlab running in an Ubuntu 12.04 guest with Windows7 host. I can ssh the guest using port-forwarding and access the nginx server using port redirection (8888 in host is 80 in guest, so localhost:8888 in host gets to the nginx server in the guest), but the server_name in nginx configuration file is giving me trouble. What is the correct listen and server_name that nginx would accept? The guest has the NAT interface at 10.0.2.15 and Host-Only interface at 192.168.56.101, static. Thanks!

  • BIG IP - HTTPS Health Monitor setup

    - by djo
I have a Web site that we have setup a health monitoring pages so we can take our servers in and out of the Big-IP as we see fit. Now we have just moved onto Big-IP and the issue I have hit is that you setup Health Monitors for port 80 and 443, now the 80 check works fine but when I to get the 443 check to look at our file it fails. Now I am aware as I am hitting the this page on the IP address over HTTPS is going to cause a cert error but I would have guessed that BIG-Ip would have been setup just to accept the cert and carry on with the check. Is what I am wanting to do possible? Also is there a way of just using a HTTP monitor for HTTPS? Because if port 80 has stopped sending traffic then if i use the same monitor for 443 it will stop traffic to that. Any help would be great! Thanks

  • SQUID Transparent SSL proxy (no intercept)

    - by user974896
I know how to have squid work as a transparent proxy. You put it into transparent mode then use your router or IPTABLES to forward port 80 to the squid port. I would like to do the same for SSL. Every guide I see mentions setting up keys on the squid server. I do not want squid to actually decrypt the SSL traffic then establish a connection with the server, rather I would like squid to simply forward the SSL traffic as is. The only thing I would like to do is be able to check the SSL request for any offending IPs and drop the packets if the destination is one of them.
