• sudoer scheme for another web developer that retains my future control of a virtual server?

  Background: Virtual Private Server I have a virtual private server that I'm looking to host multiple websites on, and provide access to another web developer. I don't care about putting too many constraints on him, though I wouldn't mind isolating the site that he'll be developing from other sites on the server that I will develop. The problem: retain control Mainly what I want is to make sure that I retain control over the server in the future. I want to reserve the ability to create/promote/demote and other administrative functions that don't deal with web software. If I make him an admin, he can sudo su - and become root and remove root control from me, for example. I need him not to be able to: take away other admin permissions change the root password have control over other security/administrative functions I would like him to still be able to: install software (through apt-get) restart apache access mysql configure mysql/apache reboot edit web development configuration type files in /etc/ Other Standard Setups would be happily considered I've never really set up a good sudoers file, so simple example setups would be very useful, even if they're only somewhat similar to the settings that I'm hoping for above. Edit: I have not yet finalized permissions, standard, useful sudo setups are certainly an option, the lists above are more what I'm hoping I can do, I don't know that that setup can be done.

  I deploy the same application in IBM-WAS on different OS ( Windows , AIX and SUN-Solaris ) , SDK errors appeared on SDK for just Solaris OS , I refer some sites and it talk that the SDK on Solaris OS was build based on Sun SDK is it write ? so please I need to now if the IBM build the Solaris SDK from scratch or based on sun SDK ?? More Details : I Installed the same IBM WAS Application Server on two servers as the following : 1- Server1 - OS (AIX) 2- Server2 - OS ( Solaris) these two server on the same network and have the same configuration . Then I deploy Java Application ( X ) on both servers , the Application X was run on Server1 ( AIX ) without any problem but when I run the Application on Server 2 ( Solaris OS) I faced SDK issue . So I need to know what the difference between AIX WAS SDK and Solaris WAS SDK ?? Note : I try windows and it was run without any problem .

• Column Header for a WPF TreeView

  I am using the WPF TreeView to display some hierarchical information. The only additional thing I need is a header above the TreeView that displays column names. The header column widths should be synchronized with TreeViewItems and also the header styles should be customizable. What's the easiest way to do this? P.S. I found two solutions that came close: 1) A TreeListView here, but this requires me to implement a custom interface (ITreeModel) to my model. Also the approach in this solution is to start with a ListView and to implement a RowExpander manually. In my case, the TreeView is sufficiently close to what I need, so I am hoping that putting a header on it should be very simple. 2) A TreeListView here. This one indeed starts with a TreeView, but I can't figure out how to customize the header. I suspect that I have to customize the GridViewHeaderRowPresenter in the generic.xaml, but this element does not seem to have its own ControlTemplate.

• Xceed DataGrid SelectedItem issue

  In my project I have an Xceed data grid which is bound to a data source with many records and record details. I am attempting to create a context menu option that will allow the user to search for a specific detail in a specific column. While I have successfully completed the functionality there is a UI part that is giving me some trouble, in that when I select the row in C#, if that row is not in view the row is never focused on. Thus the user has to scroll up and down looking for the row with expanded details. I am able to set the SelectedRow and expand the details like so: this.grid.AutoFilterValues[userColumn].Clear(); this.grid.AutoFilterValues[userColumn].Add(userValue); if (this.creditLinesDataGridControl.Items.Count > 0) { this.grid.SelectedItem = this.grid.Items[0]; this.grid.ExpandDetails(this.grid.Items[0]); } else { MessageBox.Show("Value not found in column: " + userColumn); } this.grid.AutoFilterValues[userColumn].Clear(); where userColumn and userValue are set previously in the method. How can I make the grid focus on the row after I've set the SelectedItem and expanded the details? Thanks, Patrick

• Working with partial views

  Hi. I'm trying to create a page that contains a grid and searching. The issue is that I want to have a partial view for the grid and one for the searching. If doing a search, this should render the grid partial view with the new information. At the moment I need information, such as what column I'm sorting by and so on, from the grid (currently stored in viewdata), in order to do the search as I want to keep those settings. This information is only available in the grid partial though. What's the best approach of this to make it neat and nice in the code, but not a mess to work with? Where can I store information that I need in the other partial view? I have code to work out which Fruit or Color I would like to differentiate (by color/bold) in the code behind, but I can't figure out, especially given the custom listbox display, how I could go about setting a particular item to a different color/bold. the user got the possibility to change the values of the transaction attributes with comboboxes. Ok now to my problem. If I click on the "Laden" button the application will load about 150 entries in the ObservableCollection<Transaction>. Before I fill the collection I set the ItemsSource of the ListView to null and after filling I bind the collection to the ItemsSource once again. The loading itself takes a few milliseconds, but the rendering of the filled collection takes a long time (150 entries = about 20 sec). I tested to delete all Comboboxes out of the xaml and i got a better performance, because I don't have to fill the ComboBoxes for each row. But I need to have these comboboxes for modifing the attributes of the Transaction. Does anybody know how to improve the performance? THX

• Problem with setVisible (true)

  The two examples shown below are same. Both are supposed to produce same result e.g. generate the coordinates of images displayed on JPanel. Example 1, works perfectly (print the coordinates of images), however example 2 returning 0 for the coordinate. I was wondering why because, I have put the setvisible (true) after adding the panel, in both examples.   Hi all, I'm working on Expression Blend and I'm currently designing a custom control which has a Grid with 5 rows inside, and also has two Dependency properties: "Value", and "Maximum". Three of the rows have fixed height, and what I'm trying to do is set the remaining rows height to "Value/Maximum" and "1-Value/Maximum" respectively. How do I go and do that? When I set the height to "Value" it seems to react, but when I go and set it to "Value/Maximum" it stops working. I'm still a bit new around WPF, so there must be another way to achieve what I'm intending, but after searching I couln't find my problem elsewhere. • Rails nested attributes with a join model, where one of the models being joined is a new record

  I'm trying to build a grid, in rails, for entering data. It has rows and columns, and rows and columns are joined by cells. In my view, I need for the grid to be able to handle having 'new' rows and columns on the edge, so that if you type in them and then submit, they are automatically generated, and their shared cells are connected to them correctly. I want to be able to do this without JS. Rails nested attributes fail to handle being mapped to both a new record and a new column, they can only do one or the other. The reason is that they are a nested specifically in one of the two models, and whichever one they aren't nested in will have no id (since it doesn't exist yet), and when pushed through accepts_nested_attributes_for on the top level Grid model, they will only be bound to the new object created for whatever they were nested in. How can I handle this? Do I have to override rails handling of nested attributes?   Hi there I have Telerik grid within a Telerik grid. Due to I have a different view between insert and edit mode, so as per suggested I have to use UserControl instead. Inside this control, it could have another Telerik grid plus bunch of ASP.NET textboxes. This thing works well.   I am working on a Windows Phone 7 Application using Local SQLite Database and I'm having an issue with the rendering time of pages that use DataBinding. Currently it takes 60-70ms to retrieve the data from the database. Then it takes about 3100ms to render the data retrieved using a ListBox with DataBinding. • Winforms TabControl causing spurious Paint events for UserControl

  For our project, we've written a WinForms UserControl for graphing. We're seeing some strange behavior when our control is sited in a TabControl - our control continuously fires Paint events, even when there is absolutely no activity by the user. We only see this in the TabControl. When we site our control in other containers such as Forms or Splitters, Paint is only fired when you'd expect e.g. when the control is first displayed, etc. Can anyone suggest why this might be happening?   My application works just fine until, in some unidentified conditions, it begins throwing this errors: When these errors start appearing, they appear in all over the application, no matter the code is built using ObjectDataSource or SqlDataSource.   Hi, Not sure if this is the correct place for this question or SO - mods please move if necessary. I am going to have a go at creating GoL over the weekend as a little test project : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conway's_Game_of_Life I understand the algorithm, however I just wanted to check regarding the implementation, from maybe somebody that has tried it. Essentially, my first (basic) implementation, will be a static grid at a set speed. If I understand correctly, these are the steps I will need: Initial seed Create 2d array with initial set up Foreach iteration, create temporary array, calculating each cells new state based on the Game of Life algorithm Assign temp array to proper array. Redraw grid from proper array. My concerns are over speed. When I am populating the grid from the array, would it simply be a case of looping through the array, assigning on or off to each grid cell and then redraw the grid? Am I on the correct path?

• Multiple Depends/Recommends/[…] in a control file?

  Is it possible to have multiple lines for any type of field in a dpkg control file? This is not about line continuation, but e.g. Depends interspersed with Recommends like so: Depends: git, etckeeper, apt-file Recommends: equivs Depends: mplayer, pidgin, dlocate, pwsafe, ciso Recommends: aria2 And so on. Is this allowed, is it unspecified (and some tool is going to cough on it) or is it explicitly forbidden? (Couldn't find anything in debian-policy, either)

  Brightness control doesn't work by default in Ubuntu 13.04. Solution for 12.10 doesn't work, also as this Any idea how to fix it? Update: After research I found how to change brightness manually. What need to do is to type in terminal: echo 2000 | sudo tee /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness It will reduce brightness by half, but still would be good to find solution which will allow to use keyboard for changing brightness.
