• Updated iphone application not live yet

  Hi All, 3 weeks back we uploaded an application on the iTunes(V1.0). On Thursday we updated that application with new build (V1.2). I clicked the "Update" button on itunesconnect.apple.com and followed uploaded the new binary and new contents. On the next day the Description and price tag are updated successfully, but the build version number and screens shots are still from the previous version. And the amazing thing we noticed is that application status is "Waiting for Review" from last 2 days... :( I tried to play with release date, but still application status is "Waiting for Review". Its been 2 days that there is no activity happening from apple... :( Please help me in this scenario..... Thanks in advance. Regards, Vishal.

• Environment variables get lost between MSBuild projects

  Hi, I have a .NET solution containing following projects: web application (WAP) web deployment (WDP, .wdproj) wix setup (WIX, .wixproj) In the WDP I've used a custom MSBuild task (SetEnvVar) to set some env. variables for further use in the build process. After setting them I can use them without prob. in the WDP but in the WIX they are empty/undefined. The strange thing is that when I reference those env. vars in the WIX files (by using properties in .wxs or preproc vars in .wxi) I get the values as expected. Do you have any idea why the env. vars get lost/are undefined in .wixproj? By the way the (solution) build process is triggered from inside VS 2010.

• Guidance in naming awkward objects?

  I'm modeling a chemical system, and I'm having problems with naming my objects within an enum. I'm not sure if I should use: the atomic formula the chemical name an abbreviated chemical name. For example, sulfuric acid is H2SO4 and hydrochloric acid is HCl. With those two, I would probably just use the atomic formula as they are reasonably common. However, I have others like sodium hexafluorosilicate which is Na2SiF6. In that example, the atomic formula isn't as obvious (to me) but the chemical name is hideously long: myEnum.SodiumHexaFluoroSilicate. I'm not sure how I would be able to safely come up with an abbreviated chemical name that would have a consistent naming pattern. From a maintenance point of view, which of the options would you prefer to see and why? Audience for the code will be just programmers, not chemists. If that guides the particulars: I'm using C#; I'm starting with 10 - 20 compounds and would have at most 100 compounds. The enum is to facilitate common calculations - the equation is the same for all compounds but you insert a property of the compound to complete the equation.

• How to packing Resources in Maven Project?

  I am looking for suggestion in putting image file maven web project. One of classes under src/main/java need to use an image file. My problem is, if i put image file under src/main/webapp/images then application server cannot find that path on runtime(where myeclipse can ) because war archive do not have specified path "src/main/webapp/images". My question is where should i put the image file that my project can find it without prompting any error or exception. • Serializing classes in C#. nested XML

  Hi All, I have to generate XML in the below format <objects> <items> <item ="delete"> <searchfields> <searchfield name="itemname" value="itemValue" /> </searchfields> </item> </items> </objects> So I have generated the CS file using xsd.exe by converting the above XML to XSD. xsd.exe -c -l:c# -n:XmlSerializationDeleteObject DeleteObject.xsd The CS file that is generated contains 4 classes. My question is i have to build the XML in the above mentioned format using the class that is generated. I am able to serialize the class files one by one which retirns one tag at a time, but i am unable to build it in the way that i mentioned above. Please help Regardas, jebli

• Large Scale VHDL modularization techniques

  I'm thinking about implimenting a 16 bit CPU in VHDL. A simplish CPU. ADD, MULS, NEG, BitShift, JUMP, Relitive Jump, BREQ, Relitive BREQ, i don't know somethign along these lines Probably all only working with 16bit operands. I might even cut it down and use only a single operand and a accumulator. With Some status regitsters, Carry, Zero, Neg (unless i use a Accumlator), I know how to design all the parts from logic gates, and plan to build them up from first priciples, So for my ALU I'll need to 'build' a ADDer, proably a Carry Look ahead, group adder, this adder it self is make up oa a couple of parts, wich are themselves made up of a couple of parts. Anyway, my problem is not the CPU design, or the VHDL (i know the language, more or less). It's how i should keep things organised. How should I use packages, How should I name my processes and port maps? (i've never seen the benifit of naming the port maps, or processes)

• What does <project> is obsolete mean?

  My batch build has a project, lets call it 'My.Project'. That project got up-reved to .NET 3.5 (from .NET 1.1) in its own standalone project (meaning its not part of this batch build). Most of it is the same, there are calls that were upgraded, features added/removed. I go to start replacing all calls that all the other projects use to that, now old, project with new calls. I first remove the old reference and then add the new one. One of my projects only has one call. When I go to make the changes, one namespace in the new project throws a 'My.Project.Namespace1 is obsolete' while another call to that project throws nothing. Is there something I should be looking for? What would be causing this?

• Where is the Bonjour COM library?

  I've downloaded and installed the Bonjour SDK for Windows on my Win7 64bit machine. I've tried to build both of the the projects in C:\Program Files\Bonjour SDK\Samples\CS. However they both reference Bonjour, causing me to get the following build error 'Cannot load type library for reference "Bonjour". Library not registered.' Bonjour appears to be installed properly as I can run the Bonjour Printer Wizard and it appears to work properly. Any idea why Visual Studio can't find the Library? I'm using Visual Studio 2008 by the way.

• Java program strange behavior, how to fix it ?

  My notebook has Intel CPU, running Windows Vista. My program looks like this : public class Tool_Lib_Simple { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("123"); } } When I run it, I expect to see : "123", but the output was : "Hi NM : How are you NM ?" which was the old output from two days ago before I changed my program. If I copy this program into another project in Netbean 6.7, it will run correctly and output "123", and if I change the program name from "Tool_Lib_Simple" to something else, it will also output "123", but just not under the name of "Tool_Lib_Simple" in the current project's src directory, I've deleted the "build" directory and did re-compile, re-build, it still gives me "Hi NM : How are you NM ?" as a result, seems to me the old version of my program is saved in the hard drive or ram and got stuck there, I've programmed many years, hardly ever encounter this kind of problem, how to fix this ?   I have CruiseControl(1.5) running in Win2k8R2 and svn(1.6.9) The error happens on a successful build after nant(0.86) Timeout(600 seconds). • Hibernate configuration files not found by Axis2

  I am writing a web service to be deployed on Tomcat using Axis2. I am using Hibernate3 to persist data between the web service and a MySQL database. When running the application through by IDE, the method I am exposing through Axis2 works as intended, however when I deploy the .aar to Tomcat, I receive a SOAP Error claiming that hibernate.cfg.xml cannot be found. However, inside the .aar, I clearly see that all the configuration file and all the mapping files are included. I have determined a workaround: If I place the resulting files from the Netbeans build/class folder into the axis2/WEB-INF/class folder, then the application works as expected. My question, then, is is there a better way to deploy my application so that Axis2 will pick up the configuration and mapping files through the deployed .aar without my manually having to copy the contents of the build/class folder into the axis2/WEB-INF/class folder?

• Windows Live SkyDrive: How To Move or Copy Files Between Folders

  Microsoft has very simple and easy to use interface to move files between folders in Windows Operating system. But their own cloud storage service,Windows Live SkyDrive, complicated these simple and daily used operations. We need a guide to figure out how to perform basic copy/move operations. Couple of years ago we wrote about moving files between folders in old version of SkyDrive but the guide does not hold good today as SkyDrive has gone through many user interface changes in the recent past. Today one of our readers asked us how to move/copy files in the latest version of SkyDrive and here are the steps to be followed 1. Login to your Windows Live SkyDrive 2. Select the file you want to Move or Copy by clicking on the information icon (see 2 in below image) 3. After selecting the information icon, expand Information section displayed on the right side panel to access Move and Copy options (see 3 in the below image). 4. To move the selected file to another folder, select Move option and Sky Drive will guide you through folder selection user interface for choosing the target folder. 5. Once you navigate to the target folder where you want to move the file click on “Move this file into <<Target Folder>>”. 6. You are done. Dear Microsoft, SkyDrive provides us tonnes of free storage but please make it’s user interface a bit better so that we don’t need to write guides to perform basic operations. • Integrating GSL onto iPhone Xcode

  I have been trying to integrate GSL (Gnu Scientific Library) into an iPhone project using Xcode. The challenge is GSL has all the modules in different folders, yet when their header files are reference, they often reference instead of or . At least with I could use Xcode's recursive header file search to find it. But with , basically file not found. Does anyone have an easy way to address the hierarchical GSL structure to compile into Xcode? I can do it the tedious way of fixing all the #INCLUDE lines but hoping there is a better alternative. This way, I can more easily update GSL when changes are made by the community. NOTE: I found Xcode needs to find the right header file locations (make sure to adjust your TARGET Build settings, not just your Project Build settings).

  I would like to build some code which calls some code on loadup of the shared library. I thought i would do it like this: #pragma init(my_init) static void my_init () { //do-something } int add (int a,int b) { return a+b; } So when i build that code with gcc -fPIC -g -c -Wall tt.c It returns gcc -fPIC -g -c -Wall tt.c tt.c:2: warning: ignoring #pragma init tt.c:4: warning: ‘my_init’ defined but not used So its warning my #pragmas. I tried this in real code and my code aborted because a function hadn't been called in the pragma section because it was ignored. How do i get gcc to use these #pragma init and fini statemets?

  Earlier this month I was involved in organizing the Monument Family History Day. It was certainly a complex event, with dozens of presenters, guides and 100s of visitors. So with that experience of a complex event under my belt I decided to refresh my acquaintance with Oracle Event Processing (CEP). CEP has a developer side based on Eclipse and a runtime environment. Server install The server install is very straightforward (documentation). It is recommended to use the JRockit JDK with CEP so the steps to set up a working CEP server environment are: Download required software JRockit - I used Oracle “JRockit 6 - R28.2.5” which includes “JRockit Mission Control 4.1” and “JRockit Real Time 4.1”. Oracle Event Processor - I used “Complex Event Processing Release 11gR1 (11.1.1.6.0)” Install JRockit Run the JRockit installer, the download is an executable binary that just needs to be marked as executable. Install CEP Unzip the downloaded file Run the CEP installer, the unzipped file is an executable binary that may need to be marked as executable. Choose a custom install and add the examples if needed. It is not recommended to add the examples to a production environment but they can be helpful in development. Developer Install The developer install requires several steps (documentation). • How do I create a 2.5d parallax effect?

  I have a decent background in 3D graphics and programming, but I'm new to game development. I'm currently exploring different possibilities and I really want to make an RPG game. I was thinking about classic 2D isometric view, but I really love how Diablo 2 looks and feels to play. My question is - how can I achieve Diablo 2's parallax effect? Everything looks hand drawn with baked lights and shadows and looks awesome, but when you move around you notice some perspective. For example, let's say that I drew a big hall with columns in Photoshop with an orthographic perspective (classic pixel art style, just parallel lines). How would I give parallax effect to this scene when the character moves around? If I use camera-facing sprites for everything it would probably look OK in the distance, but it would be really fake when a character comes close to a column (cylinder) for example. Any suggestions? • How to prevent a globally overridden "new" operator from being linked in from external library

  In our iPhone XCode 3.2.1 project, we're linking in 2 external static C++ libraries, libBlue.a and libGreen.a. libBlue.a globally overrides the "new" operator for it's own memory management. However, when we build our project, libGreen.a winds up using libBlue's new operator, which results in a crash (presumably because libBlue.a is making assumptions about the kinds of structures being allocated). Both libBlue.a and libGreen.a are provided by 3rd parties, so we can't change any of their source code or build options. When we remove libBlue.a from the project, libGreen.a doesn't have any issues. However, no amount of shuffling the linking order of the libraries seems to fix the problem, nor does any experimentation with the various linking flags. Is there some way to tell XCode to tell the linker to "have libGreen's use of the new operator use the standard C++ new operator rather than the one redefined by libBlue"?
