  • SVN access denied when comparing revisions

    We're using an SVN repository. I am getting the error below when we try to compare a local unmodified file with the latest revision of the file in the repository. In other words, someone's checked in a change and if I update I will get their change but first I want to see what their change was. DOn't think it matters but we're using Xcode and using the menu item SCM - Compare With - Latest. Error: 220001 (Item is not readable) Description: Unreadable path encountered; access denied Any pointers where to look to fix this appreciated. I looked in the svnserve.conf which has the default settings. Nothing jumped out to me. Also, % svn log returns "svn: Item is not readable". Thanks, Gonzalo

  • CrossPost access to data

    Hi, I have a search form on a page that posts back to itself and shows the results, all works fine. I now have a requirement to put the same search form on the site home page. This needs to post back to the search form and run the findResults code. Using the PostBackURL parameter on the home page form's submit button I can hit the search page ok. However, when using the following code in the Page_Load section of the search page I hit the problem of not being able to access data from the posting page as I get the following error message on the line starting "yearList.SelectedValue....": "'Site._default1.Protected WithEvents yearList As System.Web.UI.WebControls.DropDownList' is not accessible in this context because it is 'Protected'".   • how to merge stripped symbols with binary?

    I compiled the Qt Framework with debugging enabled, but the script stripped the debugging symbols from the libraries and saved them as *.debug files -- just like here. Sadly I need these symbols inside the .so files, so I can continue working with them. There seems no way to teach my debugger to load external (non-PDB) symbols. So another way of solving my problem might be converting the .debug files to PDB format, which might also be a problem. Thank you very much!

  • To store images in SQL or not?

    Generally, I had thought it was always better to store images in the filesystem and link to it via the database entry. However, I am trying to optimize my db design and am having a few questions. My images are all really small thumbmails in black and white (not greyscale, but true B&W) and are 70x70 in size. If we take the images (which is basically a 2D array of 1 and 0), it can be stored as binary data that would be approximately 600 bytes each. So my question is whether querying the 600 bytes stored in a db would be faster than querying a link followed by accessing the filesystem; assuming there are a lot of "image" queries being made. Does anyone have any experience with this area? If it matters, I am using MySQL, and MonetDB (separately, but have the same question for both). Many thanks, Brett

But, when I create a new Windows Forms application using my sample compiler, the MSDOS window also appears, and if I close the DOS window, my WinForms app closes too.     Hi, I am looking for a easy to use and deploy sql type database i can ship with a desktop application. This will be a small application user's can download from my website. In the vb6 days, access was the common database for small desktop apps, what is my option these days? Looking at SQL CE it seems to have a quite a few limitations such as count(distinct) etc SQL express needs to be installed and running as a service (could i include the SQL express deployments in my deployment so the user doesn't even know its been installed? I assume size would then be an issue) SQL 2005/2008 is not an option due to size and licensing restrictions. I would like to use c#, wpf and entity framework. What would seem to be the best options based on your knowledge and experience? Thanks

  • How to get stack trace information for logging in production when using the GAC

    I would like to get stack trace (file name and line number) information for logging exceptions etc. in a production environment. The DLLs are installed in the GAC. Is there any way to do this? This article says about putting PDB files in the GAC: You can spot these easily because they will say you need to copy the debug symbols (.pdb file) to the GAC. In and of itself, that will not work. I know this article refers to debugging with VS but I thought it might apply to logging the stacktrace also. I've followed the instructions for the answer to this question except for unchecking Optimize code which they said was optional. I copied the dlls and pdbs into the GAC but I'm still not getting the stack trace information. Here's what I get in the log file for the stack trace: OnAuthenticate at offset 161 in file:line:column <filename unknown>:0:0 ValidateUser at offset 427 in file:line:column <filename unknown>:0:0 LogException at offset 218 in file:line:column <filename unknown>:0:0 I'm using NLog. My NLog layout is: layout="${date:format=s}|${level}|${callsite}|${identity}|${message}|${stacktrace:format=Raw}" ${stacktrace:format=Raw} being the relevant part.

    I use a DATE's master table for looking up dates and other values in order to control several events, intervals and calculations within my app. It has rows for every single day begining from 01/01/1990 to 12/31/2041. One example of how I use this lookup table is: A customer pawned an item on: JAN-31-2010 Customer returns on MAY-03-2010 to make an interest pymt to avoid forfeiting the item. If he pays 1 months interest, the employee enters a "1" and the app looks-up the pawn date (JAN-31-2010) in date master table and puts FEB-28-2010 in the applicable interest pymt date. FEB-28 is returned because FEB-31's dont exist! If 2010 were a leap-year, it would've returned FEB-29. If customer pays 2 months, MAR-31-2010 is returned. 3 months, APR-30... If customer pays more than 3 months or another period not covered by the date lookup table, employee manually enters the applicable date.     I want to have multiple a MySQL users to be able to issue commands like CREATE DATABASE dbTest; But I also want each of these users to be able to see and access only their own databases. All I could find was how to either create the databases by a DBA and grant the privileges on this database to the specific user: GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON dbTest.* TO 'user'; or grant privileges on all databases to a user: GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'user'; But neither is what I want, because it needs to scale and be secure.

    I am trying to install Php on Vista (IIS 7). The installation and configuration seems to be fine. Pretty much followed everything mentioned in http://blogs.iis.net/bills/archive/2006/09/19/How-to-install-PHP-on-IIS7-_2800_RC1_2900_.aspx I can even bring up a test.php which is basically and can also connect to mysql db through code. But when I try to bring up some other php page like drupal's index page or phpmyadmin index page, it brings up a Php access violation message. Any clue whats happening? Also is there some tracing/diagnositic tool for php to trace whats happenign on the webserver.

    I have a little Java Applet and I have an annoying issue. I have signed my JAR with my own keystore using jarsigner tool (following these instructions). The Java Applet downloads a signed JAR and tries to launch it with an extended class of URLClassLoader. Within the course number record set, I need the system to determine what the highest year number is - maybe store that in a variable? Then pull out every associated record so that if the teacher ordered 3 books the last time they taught that class (whether it was in 2013 or 2012 and so on) all three books display. I'm not sure I'm thinking of record sets in the right way, though. My SQL so far is basic and clearly doesn't work: SELECT [All].Professor, [All].Course, Max([All].Year) FROM [All] GROUP BY [All].Professor, [All].Course; Thanks for your help.
