• Need to access the Page object in Global.asax in the PreRequestHandlerExecute

  I have a huge website (containing around 5000+) pages. There is a theme functionality in the website where user can choose different colors for their profile. Now i want to use the ASP.net theme feature and put different CSS (for different colors) in the theme folder and in Global.asax i want check the user theme and render appropriate link element with the css. But my problem is, i am not able to access the Page element for adding the link in the page. Here is my code Dim page As System.Web.UI.Page = TryCast(System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Handler,System.Web.UI.Page) page.StyleSheetTheme = "Black" But when i run this code I get a Null reference error. P.s : My application is very huge so its not possible to have a master page or a base class and inherit it in every page. Please suggest.

  I need to lookup function parameters(their types infact) from PDB file From dbghelp, we can parse any pdb and can get info like how many functions,addresses function names and others etc. My problem is I am also interested to get function parameters as well. As SYMBOL_INFO structure in callback function only contains symbolName,Addresses and Size. How can we lookup PARAMETERES(in/out Types/names)of any function. Regards Usman

• Word 2007 - Pasted Text Not Spellchecked??

  My Word 2007 spell-check seems to work fine, except that when I paste in text from somewhere else, it won't detect any misspellings in that pasted text...no matter what I try. If it makes any difference, when I paste in text, the formatting is preserved (size color etc). Any ideas on what to try?

• access denied trying extracting an archive on the windows user temp folder

  I'm trying to run a command-line process (which is extraction of a .7z archive) on a file that lies in a temporary folder on the windows user temp directory (C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp), using Process in my c# app. I think the process return error that happens because of "access denied" because I can see a win32Exception with error code 5 when I dig in the prcoess object of .NET. doing the same on some other location worked fine before, so I guess maybe it's something I'm not supposed to do ? (running a process to use a file on the the %TEMP%) perhaps I need to pass security somehow?

• Preventing referenced assembly PDB and XML files copied to output

  I have a Visual Studio 2008 C#/.NET 3.5 project with a post build task to ZIP the contents. However I'm finding that I'm also getting the referenced assemblies' .pdb (debug) and .xml (documentation) files in my output directory (and ZIP). For example, if MyProject.csproj references YourAssembly.dll and there are YourAssembly.xml and YourAssembly.pdb files in the same directory as the DLL they will show up in my output directory (and ZIP). I can exclude *.pdb when ZIP'ing but I cannot blanket exclude the *.xml files as I have deployment files with the same extension. Is there a way to prevent the project from copying referenced assembly PDB and XML files?

When you pass an OAuth code to Facebook, it response with a query string containing access_token and expires values. access_token=121843224510409|2.V_ei_d_rbJt5iS9Jfjk8_A__.3600.1273741200-569255561|TxQrqFKhiXm40VXVE1OBUtZc3Ks.&expires=4554 Although if you request permission for offline access, there's no expires and the string looks like this: access_token=121843224510409|2.V_ei_d_rbJt5iS9Jfjk8_A__.3600.1273741200-569255561|TxQrqFKhiXm40VXVE1OBUtZc3Ks. I attempted to write a regex that would suffice for either condition. No dice.   I have a .NET windows forms application compiled as x84 – it needs to be compiled as x84 because it references 3rd party DLLs which are 32 bit. The application uses COM interop to automate Office applications and also AutoCAD. My question is: will my COM interop code work okay on a 64 bit operating system against the 64 bit versions of Office and AutoCAD? I’m going to try this out but I wondered whether someone knew of any problems?

  Hi all, I am facing a issue in removing the ABRecord . The code that i use is as follows : BOOL isRemoved = ABAddressBookRemoveRecord(addressbook, record, &error). • Windows batch files: .bat vs .cmd?

  As I understand it, .bat is the old 16-bit naming convention, and .cmd is for 32-bit Windows, i.e., starting with NT. But I continue to see .bat files everywhere, and they seem to work exactly the same using either suffix. Assuming that my code will never need to run on anyhting older than NT, does it really matter which way I name my batch files, or is there some gotcha awaiting me by using the wrong suffix?

I have a potential client who says that is the technology they will use for a new web project, for which I would be doing the HTML templating. Is it more likely the client is developing another piece of technology to work with the CRM that they are neglecting to tell us about? • Access Git Repository using Eclipse and Netbeans Plugins with LDAP Users

  Hello everyone! I've configure a git server. I need to use ssh because I've defined permissions using users of my domain, using LDAP. Only users with permissions could read a project. So, the links to access my repositories are like that: ssh://[email protected]@hostname/var/git/repo.git When I clone, commit or push a project using linux git commands or using tortoisegit on windows, there is no problem, everything works as expected. However, I've tried to clone a project using plugins from Eclipse (EGit) and Netbeans (NBGit), with no success. Seems that they can't recognize the host. I've accessed using a user from the server (not from the domain) and it cloned the project perfectly. Seems that the plugins assume that the host is everything after the first @. • Missing line number in stack trace eventhough the PDB files are included

  This is running me nuts. I have this web service implemented w/ C# using VS 2008. I publish it on IIS. I have modified the release build so the pdb files are copied along with the dlls into the target directory on inetpub. Also web.config file has debug=true. Then I call a web service that throws an exception. The stack trace does not contain the line numbers. I have no idea what I am missing here, any ideas? Additional Info: If I run the web app using VS built-in web server, it works and I get line numbers in stack trace. But if I copy the same files (pdb and dll) that the VS built-in web server is using to IIS, still the line numbers are missing in stack trace. It seems that there is something related to the IIS that ignores the pdb files! Update When I publish to IIS, all the pdb files are published under the bin directory and everything looks fine. But when I go to "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files" under the specific directory related to my project, I can see that the assembly (.dll) files are all there, but there is no pdb files. But this does not happen if I run the project using VS built-in web server. So if I copy the pdb files manually to the temp folder, I can see the line numbers. Any idea why the pdb files are not copied to the temp folder? BTW, when I attach to the worker process I can see that it says Symbols loaded!

• Can you get access to the NumberFormatter used by ICU MessageFormat

  This may be a niche question but I'm working with ICU to format currency strings. I've bumped into a situation that I don't quite understand. When using the MesssageFormat class, is it possible to get access to the NumberFormat object it uses to format currency strings. When you create a NumberFormat instance yourself, you can specify attributes like precision and rounding used when creating currency strings. I have an issue where for the South Korean locale ("ko_KR"), the MessageFormat class seems to create currency strings w/ rounding (100.50 - ?100). In areas where I use NumberFormat directly, I set setMaximumFractionDigits and setMinimumFractionDigits to 2 but I can't seem to set this in the MessageFormat. Any ideas?
