  Hi! I would like to make a .desktop file for my Python script, but so far the only thing i have is a clickable icon on my desktop! It does nothing when i click it, so im guessing there is something wrong with the execution :) The desktop file: [Desktop Entry] Version=1.0 Type=Python Exec=/home/user/MyDocs/Python/EasySteer/Main.py Name=EasySteer Icon=steering_wheel X-Icon-Path=/usr/share/icons and I also tried: [Desktop Entry] Version=1.0 Type=Application Exec=/usr/bin/xterm "python /home/user/MyDocs/Python/EasySteer/Main.py" Name=EasySteer Icon=steering_wheel X-Icon-Path=/usr/share/icons But nothing works :D if it matters this is for my Nokia N900 mobile phone that runs Maemo linux, but i think the basics are the same.

  In my quest to keep my fingers on the pulse of MDM, I recently found a pretty interesting article.  The article was published in Information Week and provides some interesting statistics from a recent survey conducted by the analyst firm, The Information Difference.  Let's take a look: Of the 130 organizations surveyed, 53% have live operational MDM implementations 81% of those with live operational MDM implementations report broad success - a huge improvement over 2011's 54% 64% developed a business case prior to their MDM deployment, while a daring 32% went ahead without a business case.    The article goes on to talk about the shift in vendors from focusing on customer data and product information management to one that is oriented around multi-domain master data management as well as other realities around MDM.  Take a look at the article.   Im trying to install ubuntu on window 7 virtual PC, when I boot to the ubuntu ISO image just before the partitioning stage where ubuntu confirms you have at leaset 4GB hard drive space the installer puts a cross on requirement indicating system does not have required amount of space... however I have a 220GB hard drive with 20GB used to create the virtual disk..Its all a bit weird as I can't seem figure it out

  The Red - Green - Refactor cycle for TDD is well established and accepted. We write one failing unit test and make it pass as simply as possible. What are the benefits to this approach over writing many failing unit tests for a class and make them all pass in one go. The test suite still protects you against writing incorrect code or making mistakes in the refactoring stage, so what's the harm? Sometimes it's easier to write all the tests first as a form of 'brain dump' to quickly write down all the expected behavior in one go.

• Are there Any Concerns with Importing Document Files From a Competing Product?

  I have a new product that serves the same purpose as my competitor's long-standing product. One thing I have considered doing is allowing my program to import document files created by their product in order to provide an easy way for users to migrate towards mine. Naturally, this would be done without the competitor's permission, as it goes against their interests. I've seen this done before with office suite software (e.g. Open Office and Apple Pages can import MS Word documents), but I'm wondering if there are any concerns, legal or ethical, with me doing this. I fully expect any answers will most likely fall under the "I am not a lawyer" clause, but it would be helpful to have a starting point for anything I would need to be aware of, or if I shouldn't need to worry.
