    What is the best way to sort an array of active record objects by by a field?     I try to call the main ViewController on my storyboard. In my app there is a additional .h, .m file with no xib or storyboard.     Scope Image bitmap have to be shown as imageView.setImageBitmap(bitmap) and scaled to fit UI. This could be done via: bitmap = Bitmap.createScaledBitmap(bitmap, newWidth, newHeight, true); xml's ImageView attributes such as android:layout_width="newWidth" android:layout_height="newHeight" android:adjustViewBounds="true" android:scaleType="fitCenter" Problem Which way is better for performance? I prefer xml 'cause this is UI specific problem and I prefer to use xmls for UI definition. Also we set width/height values in dp, it means we have the same UI for different screens. Thanks!

    Hello! Client wants some tricky stuff and i don't really know where to start with it. The idea is that there is a horizontal scrollView whose each page consists of a vertical scrollView. For example, on the horizontal axis there are galleries, on the vertical we scroll through selected gallery's images. Is this even possible? I'd be very glad to hear comments on this one!

  • what's the right way to cause a subview to redraw when the device orientation changes?

    I have a view controller with a view and one subview. When the device orientation changes the view auto-redraws but the subview doesn't. If I explicitly do [subview setNeedsDisplay] it redraws but I don't have a logical place to put that call in my code. And, since I don't have to explicitly tell the view to redraw, it seems counter-intuitive to tell the subview to redraw. Is there a way to make the subview auto-redraw when the view redraws?

  • System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient cannot authenticate against a POP3 server, right?

    One of our customer seems to have a very old email system, those that ask you to authenticate to the POP3 server before allowing you to send messages through the SMTP server. Regrettably, we have to believe in what our customer tell us for we cannot access their facilities. But as far as I remember, years ago there were mail systems that once you log into the POP3, the STMP server is kept open for a few minutes for the client IP. Our application sends messages by using System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient which seems to be unable to authenticate to those kinds of servers. Is that correct? If so, what would be the simplest workaround? I was thinking of a minimal POP3 implementation (just the login part of the protocol). Would that work? Thanks in advance.

  • Making a video with opencv and ffmpeg. How to find the right color format?

    I have a webcam video recorder program built with python, opencv and ffmpeg It works ok except that the color of the video is more blue than the reality. The problem seems to come from color format of images. It seems that OpenCv is giving BGR images and ffmpeg+libx264 is expecting YUV420p. I've read that YUV420p correspond to YCbCr. opencv has no conversion from BGR to YCbCr. It only has a conversion to YCrCb. I have made some searchs and tried different alternatives to try converting opencv image to something that could be ok for ffmpeg+libx264. None is working. At this point, I am a bit lost and I would appreciate any pointer that could help me to fix this color issue.

    I'm just getting started with FP and I'm using Scala, which may not be the best way, since I can always fall back to an imperative style if the going gets tough. I'd just rather not. I've got a very specific question that points to a broader lacuna in my understanding of FP. When a web application is processing a GET request, the user wants information that already exists on the web-site. The application only has to process and format the data in some way. The FB way is clear. When a web application is processing a POST request, the user wants change the information held on the site. True, the information is not typically held in application variables, it's in a database or a flat-file, but still, I get the feeling I'm not grokking FP properly. Is there a pattern for handling updates to static data in an FP language? My vague picture of this is that the application is handed the request and the then-current site state. The application does its thing and returns the new site-state. If the current site-state hasn't changed since the application started, the new state becomes the current state and the reply is sent back to the browser (this is my dim image of Clojure's style); if the current state has been changed (by another thread, well, something else happens ...

  • Accessing items at deeper levels using children() in jQuery

    Hi, I want to access a simple button in an unknown nested level of a container. Using container.children('button') allows me to access buttons in the first level, i.e.: <div> <button>test</button> </div> Trying to use the same with the following construct: <div> <div> <button>test</button> </div> </div> .. fails, because the button is not a direct children. I could use element.children().children('button') but the depth of the button can change and this feels too strange. I can also write my own function to iterate thru all children to find what I need, but I guess jQuery does already have selectors for this. So the question is: How can I access children in an unknown depth using jQuery selectors? Thank you all in advance for your feedback!

It's pasted below and should be simplified enough for those who aren't familiar with Zend Framework to understand what I'm doing. My question is: Are these codes correct for their respective responses, and in the case of "access denied" do I use a 401 or 403?     I learn that HTTP_REFERER or any HTTP request header can be fake and not reliable. REMOTE_ADDR is reliable though. so, how can I ensure the incoming HTTP_REQUEST call is coming from a website that I white-list? For example, I have a js code that will send from client site to server. (something like a sniper, cross platform). however, I only allow this happen from several websites. Not others. so, even other people copy the code and put onto their website, it won't work.
