• multi-valued property query in GAE

  class Person{ @Persistent private List tags = ArrayList() } I want to let the user query a person based on his/her tag, so I had my query filter like this: tags.contains(tagValue1) and if the user want to search for multiple tags, I would just add to the filter so if the user is searching for 3 tags, then the query would be tags.contains(tagValue1) && tags.contains(tagValue2) && tags.contains(tagValue3) I think this approach is wrong, because the datastore then needs to have an index that have the tags property three times... and if the user search for more than 3 tags at a time then it will be broken. What's the proper way to do this? Do you guys have any suggestions?

• Internal Server Error

  I have a HTML file and a PHP file in the same folder on the remote server. From the URL, I call the HTML file and the HTML file calls the PHP file when form is submitted. But it is not going correctly. When I submit the Form, it dislays error: 500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. • When [script] file download fails, how can I tell why?

  My web application sends me diagnostic info from the browser javascript telling me that a [script] tag I've injected has failed to download the associated .js file. I can't reproduce this locally, and there is no particular pattern to which file fails, or what the browser type is. There is a pattern to the geo location of the requests - Mexico and Brazil are always more frequent - so I'm guessing that perhaps the internet in general is just more flaky there, and it is just network issues causing the failures. I'd really like to know for sure, though. Is there any way to determine, from the browser javascript, whether the failure occurred because of an error returned by the server, from a network error, or from a protocol timeout? I don't care if the mechanism is browser-specific, since it seems likely that the same issue is causing the error on all browser types.

  So, that's how works Interesting Tags: I add into them my interested tags like php, mysql, jquery and so on. Then, if any of questions has the same tags as mine it makes background orange. I understand how to use jquery to do that (there were related questions to that), but without mysql it can't be done. Now, here is a question. How is it done? I imagine like that: There is a row in mysql for every member, let's call it "interested_tags". After I write and submit my tag through input, it is being written in a row "interested_tags". Then, the main page has a query which shows all answers and it always checks answer's with mine tags with strpos like this if(strpos($question_tags, $my_tags) === true) {        //and here will be made background orange } Am I thinking right or is there any way to do it?

  Hi, I'm building a Rails app that does conversion tracking on outside sites.   Hi all, I am learning JQuery, and I have checked out that JQUery has got a validation plugin. http://docs.jquery.com/Plugins/Validation#Validate_forms_like_you.27ve_never_been_validating_before.21 To use it, users have to include another script file in the Head tag in HTML. I am thinking if this will cause any code collisions to the codes in the validation plugin when more and more javascript files are included. Should I use JQuery to write myself new customed functions for checking data input from users or use the JQuery data validation plugin? Please advise.

  hello there , i know that there is some rules and standards in css handling but i mean which one is closer to a human thinking. for example : when i give a DIV tag a height property of 100px i just want it to be 100px! but in Firefox i should work on min-height or max-width and so on ! there is many like this examlpe , i think IE read css more humanestic against Firefox. i have several experiences in this case , your final nice design in IE can be a mess in Firefox thats because of the way they handle css. • Having onFocus do several things.

  So I have this input tag <input ... onFocus=...> and what I want is for a warning popup to come up if somebody clicks to write in the input field. After the person has read the warning he/she closes the popup and can continue to write in the field. I have managed to implement the popup just fine but my problem is that I lose focus on the input field when the popup comes up so the next time I click the field the popup comes back again and im back on square one. The system I work on uses php and javascript so and I cannot use anything other than that to solve the problem and my experience with both php and javascript is limited.

• Project hosting on Google Code. Files are cached?

  I do not really understand how Google Code handles file versioning. I am building a jQuery plugin that anyone can access. Like so: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://jquery-old-browser-warning.googlecode.com/files/jquery.browser-warning.js"></script> This script accesses other files on the same project (via ajax). The problem is, that when I upload a new file, it just seems like there aren't any changed to it. Google recommends that new files should have new names. But then I would have to change the filenames that the script loads. But then I would have to change the script file as well, and that would break everybodys implementation (with the script-tag above) Is there a way to force a file to change when uploading with the same filename? PS: If I go directly to the project page's file list. Then I do get the file with the updated content. But as I said, not when getting it through ajax.

• [jQuery] Any HTML tags inside of tooltip cause basic tooltip to close on hover.

  Hi. I'm new to jQuery, in fact any kind of AJAX / JavsScript (although not new to PHP, xHTML and CSS). Anyway I'm trying to achieve a "tooltip-like" effect, where I can hover over a div...the new div fades in above it and then when I exit the div the "tooltip" fades out. So here's the basic jQuery I've managed to scrap together reading the odd guide here and there: $(function() { $('#sn-not-logged-in').hover(function() { $('#sn-not-logged-in-hover').fadeIn('medium'); }); $('#sn-not-logged-in-hover').mouseout(function() { $('#sn-not-logged-in-hover').fadeOut('medium'); }); }); Problem is if I put "any" html tag inside the div that hovers in, the second you roll over it the div fades back out. Any ideas how this can be fixed? Cheers.

  Scenario: We provide a hosted site that clients pay to use internally (a tool to support their business workflow). We have a requirement to provide a form that the clients can 'embed' in their outward facing site. This form will permit a member of the public to enter some details to register an interest - this data will be pushed to our remote system. Question: I'm currently planning on creating a simple HTML page that the client's web guys can include in a simple fashion on their site (either using an iframe or an object tag). If I do this, am I going to run into difficulties when the user tries to submit the embedded form (as it will be going to different domain to the one they are currently browsing)? I had a look at google adsense and I see that they just provide a link to a JS file that renders their ads - I'm not sure I see the advantage in this, but if anybody has any bright ideas... Whatever technique that gets used, I'll have to authenticate the request as coming from my client's site(s).

  Let's say I have two webforms, A.aspx and B.aspx, where B.aspx contains some simple web controls such as a textbox and a button. I'm trying to do the following: When A.aspx is requested, I want to dynamically call and load B.aspx into memory and output details of all the controls contained in B.aspx. Here is what I tried in the codebehind for A.aspx: var compiledType = BuildManager.GetCompiledType("~/b.aspx"); if (compiledType != null) { var pageB = (Page)Activator.CreateInstance(compiledType); } foreach (var control in pageB.Controls) { //output some details for each control, like it's name and type... } When I try the code above, the controls collection for pageB is always empty. Any ideas on how I can get this to work? Some other important details: both webforms utilize a master page (so the web controls in b.aspx are actually placed within a "content" tag) I've also tried using BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath. No luck.

• IE 7 CSS problem with detecting mouse over on div

  I have a div inside an li as part of a top navigation for a website. I'm having trouble with IE 7 having "holes" in the box such that the drop down disappears when the user is still on the drop down. I started with a pure CSS solution (li:hover) and that works awesome in all browsers except IE 7. So I've now added a jQuery/javascript solution to detect when the mouse enters and exits the nav li and then add a class to show the drop down. It works better, but if the mouse is not over an image, p, h3, or a tag then it doesn't think I'm over the div that is the drop down. Very frustrating. I can post some test code, but the issue can be viewed here: http://davincidays.org/ Anyone have any ideas? I've been working on this for waaaay too long already and need some fresh things to try.

  I am trying to make a simple setTimeout, to make a div tag invisible after 2 seconds. The setTimeout function makes the div invisible but irregularly, sometimes immediately and sometimes after 1 sec, and so on.   What do I need to do something like this? User builds a diagram and tags certain boxes and circles with text. User imports diagram into my program. My program processes the tagged boxes and circles and fills them with different colors. My program exports color-filled diagram. So the questions are... What graphics format supports tag-able boxes and circles? What existing application should I recommend users to use to produce diagrams in the above format? Would this graphics format be very easily readable in code to do things like reading tags and coloring in the associated boxes and circles?   I love the controls from the Bag-Of-Tricks. I am interested in modifying the ReorderListBox control to get a ReorderListView control. However, simply changing the base class from ListBox to ListView is not working.
