Drupal vs Some Other CMS

I'm going to be moving my website to a CMS in the coming months I'd I need some help on choosing an appropriate CMS. Many of the websites I've seen tend to say "use Drupal, hands down". However, my website truly doesn't have a need for commenting or community features. Its pages will need to be modified occasionally, but not extensively. My website will also consist of many programs, each with their own sub-pages and menus. There are probably 25 people that will need access to the content on my website and will need the ability to update it. I do like the idea of being able to tag and categorize the content, and the modular aspect of Drupal but is it really right for my website? If not, which CMS may fit my needs better?

jQuery: Load body of page into variable

I'm using jQuery to load the result of a PHP script into a variable. The script is passed something that the user typed with a GET request. I want to take just what the script spit out into its <body> tag. Here's what I've tried: JS: function loader() { var typed = $('#i').val(); //get what user typed in $.get("script.php", {i: typed}, function(loaded) {dataloaded = loaded;}); alert($(dataloaded).find('body')) } But it just displays [Objec object]. How can I get a useful value that is just the contents of the body of a loaded page? I know the PHP works, I just need the JS. The script echos something like 1!!2 (two numbers separated by two exclamation points). Thanks!

Hi, I have searched but havent been able to find my answer. It follows like: I would like to replace all URL in a string to links except the URLs within img src tag. I have a regular expression for replacing all the URLs to links, but would like it to NOT replace the URLs within img src="" attribute. How can i do this? Third party library not working with angular js

I am using navgoco.js and angular js in an application and I have following html <div id="demo"> <ul > <li ng-repeat ... > <a href="#"> ... </a> ...... </li> </ul> </div> js code $j("#demo1").navgoco({accordion: false}); It is supposed to do some expand-collapse of menus. the problem is that navgoco events are not performing on clicking on anchor. It simply adds # to url. In the rendered html of anchor tag, anuglar is adding ng-binding that may be the problem. Please help.

link_to_remote and jquery accordion

I have a standard jquery ui accordion and I load content into it using a link_to_remote tag (in the accordion header). All this works fine. The problem is, once the content is loaded, I dont want a ajax call, I just want the accordion to fold, like it should normally do. From the documentation regarding the android:configChanges='orientation' attribute of the activity tag in the manifest: Note: Using this attribute should be avoided and used only as a last-resort. Please read Handling Runtime Changes for more information about how to properly handle a restart due to a configuration change. Why does it say this? In the case of threads and networking requests via a service API library, a request could be made with a reference to the original Activity, and then an orientation change could occur, leaving the thread pointing to the old Activity. While this can be fixed, it's tedious and ugly compared to just handling the configuration changes yourself. Why should it be avoided?

Hey guys. I'm trying to access the innerHTML of a span tag modified by jQuery using C#. This is my first project shunning the AJAX libs in favor of jQuery, so I'm not sure how I can get the codebehind to recognize the manipulated innerHTML. I've set all the spans I want to tap into with runat="server", but all I pull are the values I've set when the page was designed. What steps should I be taking to enable communication between the client-side and my codebehind, and am I even using the best practice here?

How to determine page generation time with Struts 2 ?

I'm using Struts 2 and I'd like to determine the page generation time without an external profiler. I can easily profile the actions execute() method, but I don't know how to include the time spent before (in dispatchers, interceptors...) and after (time taken by the servlet corresponding to the view ("jsp time")). Is there simple way to do this ? And if there isn't, how could I, at least, profile the "jsp time" (maybe a tag I'm not aware of ?) ? I think it would be accurate enough to just take in account action time + jsp time. Thanks.

Make graphics on left and right side of text change width depending on the amount of text?

I need to have an H1 tag centered between two graphics on the left and right of the text. The H1 text will be various widths depending on what page you are on. The dot on the left should stay on the left edge of the site and the line should extend until it reaches the edge of the text. Same for the right side. Is there a way to accomplish this by using CSS or even some jquery/javascript? In the attached graphic, if the text was just "WHO YOU ARE" I'd need the bars on the left and right to grow wider to bump up against the edges of the text.

Best way to make a script to SSH?

My university has quite a lot files (like past papers etc) which I need to be on the uni network to access them. I ssh, using port forwarding, into the network and set my browser (Firefox) to go through that port. I know it would be quite easy to write something in most languages that would enter the command into a terminal, but which language/method could I use to make this happen? I expect some sort of scripting language could but I really know nothing about them, but I'd be willing to learn one just to have a little fun with this. I'm using a cygwin terminal on Windows 7, if that will make a difference. To neaten up my question: Which language would be best to acheive the above effect? Not necessarily the best, just possible and relatively simple to learn. I used the word best so I suppose I'll put a subjective tag.

Cannot submit form when disabling JSF page

Simple submit button. <h:commandButton actionListener="#{regBean.findReg}" action="#{regBean.navigate}" value="Search" /> The form tag is displayed like so: <h:form onsubmit="this.disabled=true;busyProcess();return true;"> This is so if the submit button is pressed, the page shows a "busy" icon until request is processed. The problem is, the request is never submitted and it never reaches the backend. However, if I instead take out the "disabled" call like so: <h:form onsubmit="busyProcess();return true;"> Everything works. Any ideas?

Proper way to 100% wakes my device?

Do you have better way to make the device awakes by 100%? I repeatedly call the acquire() but I'm not sure if that is correct. Or should I just call the acquire() once? Does specifying image size in CSS allow the browser to do layout before download is complete?

I've always tried to specify the height and width attributes for img tags in HTML. Not for style reasons, but because the browser then expects the size of the image and can do page layout even before the image has finished downloading. From the HTML spec: The height and width attributes give user agents an idea of the size of an image or object so that they may reserve space for it and continue rendering the document while waiting for the image data. I don't know why this has never occurred to me, but does specifying height and width in CSS, rather than inside the img tag, do the same thing?

jQuery .html() vs .text() produce different result in .hover() function

How do you combine a Move and Rotate effect in Flex 3?

I realize you can make one of each effect, set the same target, and hit .play();, but this produces weird results (acknowledged by Adobe, fixed in Flex 4). I'm trying to have an object move from the top of the screen to the bottom while it rotates around it's own center. When called independently, both of these effects work perfectly. When called together, the object always rotates around the top left corner. I even tried putting them both inside a <Parallel> tag with no success. Has anyone come up with a workaround?
