It's trivial to put a link to the top level page of another language, but how to put a link to the current page in another language? Eg. /en/contact should link to /de/kontakt (the same article in another language). I'm sure there are some variables somewhere that I could put into the template that would be filled with the correct links.

    Most image formats are already compressed. But in fact, if I take an image and compress it [gzipping it], and then I compare the compressed one to the uncompressed one, there is a difference in size, even though not such a dramatic difference. The question is: is it worth gzipping images? the content size flushed down to the client's browser will be smaller, but there will be some client overhead when de-gzipping it. Please advise.

  • Flex 3 : UIComponent.addChild issue

    Hello SOers, I've run into a nice problem with the UIComponent.addChild(...) function. First of all, I'm using ESRI Api for Flex. In this API you find a class called Graphic that inherits UIComponent. Basically, I'm trying to add, as a child, a Graphic 'g' to another graphic 'parent'. So that when you delete the 'parent' graphic the 'g' graphic deletes as well. private function writeMeasurements(parent:Graphic):void { var g:Graphic; if(parent.geometry.extent != null) g = new Graphic(parent.geometry.extent.center); else g = new Graphic(parent.geometry); g.initialize(); g.name = UIDUtil.createUID(); g.symbol = txtSym; graphicsLayer.add(g); parent.addChild(g); } graphicsLayer class This code actually runs pretty fine. The problem is after... it's like if the addChild function was asynchronious.     I'm trying to validate a class decorated with dataannotation with the Validator class. It works fine when the attributes are applied to the same class. But when I try to use a metadata class it doesn't work. Is there anything I should do with the Validator so it uses the metadata class?     I have a variable number of two-dimensional arrays. The first dimension is variable, the second dimension is constant. i.e.: Object[][] array0 = { {"tim", "sanchez", 34, 175.5, "bla", "blub", "[email protected]"}, {"alice", "smith", 42, 160.0, "la", "bub", "[email protected]"}, ... }; Object[][] array1 = { {"john", "sdfs", 34, 15.5, "a", "bl", "[email protected]"}, {"joe", "smith", 42, 16.0, "a", "bub", "[email protected]"}, ... }; ... Object[][] arrayi = ... I'm generating these arrays with a for-loop: for (int i = 0; i < filter.length; i++) { MyClass c = new MyClass(filter[i]); //data = c.getData(); } Where "filter" is another array which is filled with information that tells "MyClass" how to fill the arrays. "getData()" gives back one of the i number of arrays. Now I just need to have everything in one big two dimensional array. i.e.: Object[][] arrayComplete = { {"tim", "sanchez", 34, 175.5, "bla", "blub", "[email protected]"}, {"alice", "smith", 42, 160.0, "la", "bub", "[email protected]"}, ... {"john", "sdfs", 34, 15.5, "a", "bl", "[email protected]"}, {"joe", "smith", 42, 16.0, "a", "bub", "[email protected]"}, ... ... }; In the end, I need a 2D array to feed my Swing TableModel. Any idea on how to accomplish this? It's blowing my mind right now.

    Hello -- Using Application Request Routing I have IIS 7.5 set up as a reverse proxy to a Mongrel service which is serving a rails app. IIS is set up to use Windows Auth and is working but I cannot access the REMOTE_USER variable in the rails app to get at current user's identity. I have inspected the request object in rails and I don't have any other variables like LOGON_USER, HTTP_REMOTE_USER, AUTH_USER, etc. I am trying to find a way to inject the REMOTE_USER variable into Mongrel's server variables. This post describes what I am looking for using mod_rewrite on Apache but I am having trouble recreating this rule for iis. this is the rewrite rule from the post mentioned above for Apache RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{LA-U:REMOTE_USER} (.+) RewriteRule . - [E=RU:%1] Header add X-Forwarded-User %{RU}e I tried reproducing the rule in IIS and got a URL Rewrite Module error ("The condition's expression "%{LA-U:REMOTE_USER}" is invalid."). I know I'm probably using Apache syntax where IIS syntax is needed but am not sure how to proceed at this point. Any help greatly appreciated.

  • How to deal with recursive dependencies between static libraries using the binutils linker?

    I'm porting an existing system from Windows to Linux. The build is structured with multiple static libraries. I ran into a linking error where a symbol (defined in libA) could not be found in an object from libB. The linker line looked like g++ test_obj.o -lA -lB -o test The problem of course being that by the time the linker finds it needs the symbol from libA, it has already passed it by, and does not rescan, so it simply errors out even though the symbol is there for the taking. My initial idea was of course to simply swap the link (to -lB -lA) so that libA is scanned afterwards, and any symbols missing from libB that are in libA are picked up. But then I find there is actually a recursive dependency between libA and libB! I'm assuming the Visual C++ linker handles this in some way (does it rescan by default?). Ways of dealing with this I've considered: Use shared objects. Unfortunately this is undesirable from the perspective of requiring PIC compliation (this is performance sensitive code and losing %ebx to hold the GOT would really hurt), and shared objects aren't needed. Build one mega ar of all of the objects, avoiding the problem. Restructure the code to avoid the recursive dependency (which is obviously the Right Thing to do, but I'm trying to do this port with minimal changes). Do you have other ideas to deal with this? Is there some way I can convince the binutils linker to perform rescans of libraries it has already looked at when it is missing a symbol?
