  Hello, I'm just starting with MVVM light, but so far it allowed me to solve some of my issues. Infortunately I'm struggling with relatively sime issues in Silverlight. Futher issue - how to assign a command in C# code? The problem is as follows: I'm developing Windows Phone 7 app. Application Bar needs to be initiated in C# (as far as I know there is no xaml code for application bar at this stage). • Force a UIView to redraw immediately, instead of during next run loop

  I've created a UIImagePicker / camera view, with a toolbar and custom button for taking a snapshot. I can't really change to using the default way because of the custom button, and I'm drawing on top of the view. When you hit the button, I want to take a screenshot using UIGetScreenImage(); however, the toolbar is showing up in the image, even if I hide it first: //hide the toolbar self.toolbar.hidden = YES; // capture the screen pixels CGImageRef screenCap = UIGetScreenImage(); I'm pretty sure this is because even though the toolbar is hidden, it gets redrawn once the function returns and we enter the next run loop - after UIGetScreenImage is called. I tried making the following addition, but it didn't help: //hide the toolbar self.toolbar.hidden = YES; [self.toolbar drawRect:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 52)]; // capture the screen pixels CGImageRef screenCap = UIGetScreenImage(); I also tried using setNeedsDisplay, but that doesn't work either because once again the draw happens after the current function returns. • Facebook connect ifUserConnected() does not work - FB.Connect is undefined error

  I'm trying to integrate Facebook connect to my website. The login button appears and i'm able to login. The profile picture and the name is displayed properly. However when I try adding the code FB.Connect.ifUserConnected, I get a error message saying FB.Connect is not defined. I also have try to set Button.DataContext property to LoginState in the code, but have XamlParseException. • UIAlertViewDelegate method didDismissWithButtonIndex gets called while the phone is sleeping/locked.

  I have a UIAlertView who's didDismissWithButtonIndex delegate method calls pops the view controller (same class, it's the alertview delegate and the viewcontroller) to return the user to the previous screen. The issue is that when you lock the phone before the [alert show]; is called, something is calling didDismissWithButtonIndex while the phone is locked. Since the response to that is to pop the view controller, which releases and deallocs it, I crash on the callback. What is causing this phantom button press? Seems like a framework bug, but I hate jumping to that conclusion. I'm definitely not hitting the button, because I hit a breakpoint in my code right before it's displayed. Then I lock the phone. Then I continue. I see it do the show, return to the event loop, and then, while the phone is still locked, hit my breakpoint in didDismissWithButtonIndex. There are a few internet/forum postings about similar spurious delegate calls, but no concrete answers. This is on the simulator, and the device, both OS 2.2 and OS 3.0. I'm assuming I'm missing something, but what? Update: Yeah, I created a simple project with just two view controllers, where when the 2nd view controller displays it creates the alert, and shows it. Then I NSLog in the delegate method, and when the phone is locked, it fires once while locked, and then again when it's unlocked and the button is clicked...2 log messages. But when not locked, there's only one. I guess I'll open an issue, but it seems awfully obvious to have survived this long without anyone complaining. :-) I'm going to try and work around it by making an isActive flag value when the willResignActive/didBecomeActive notifications arrive, and if the app isn't active skipping the delegate body. Update I went ahead in July after I posted this and created radar 7097363 for this issue. There's been no response. The workaround in practice works quite well, checking the active status when processing the delegate, and skipping the action if the the app is inactive.

• Checking if a RoutedEvent has any handlers

  I've got a custom Button class, that always performs the same action when it gets clicked (opening a specific window). I'm adding a Click event that can be assigned in the button's XAML, like a regular button. When it gets clicked, I want to execute the Click event handler if one has been assigned, otherwise I want to execute the default action. The problem is that there's apparently no way to check if any handlers have been added to an event. I thought a null check on the event would do it: if (Click == null) { DefaultClickAction(); } else { RaiseEvent(new RoutedEventArgs(ClickEvent, this));; } ...but that doesn't compile. The compiler tells me that I can't do anything other than += or -= to an event outside of the defining class, event though I'm trying to do this check INSIDE the defining class. I've implemented the correct behavior myself, but it's ugly and verbose and I can't believe there isn't a built-in way to do this. I must be missing something. • How to pass a reference to a JS function as an argument to an ExternalInterface call?

  Summary I want to be able to call a JavaScript function from a Flex app using ExternalInterface and pass a reference to a different JavaScript function as an argument. Base Example Given the following JavaScript: function foo(callback) { // ... do some stuff callback(); } function bar() { // do some stuff that should happen after a call to foo } I want to call foo from my flex app using ExternalInterface and pass a reference to bar as the callback. Why Really,foo is not my function (but, rather, FB.Connect.showBookmarkDialog), which due to restrictions on Facebook iframe apps can only be called on a button click. My button, for design reasons, is in the Flex app. Fortunately, it's possible to call ExternalInterface.call("FB.Connect.showBookmarkDialog", callback) to display the bookmark dialog. But, FB.Connect.showBookmarkDialog requires a JS callback so, should I want to receive a callback (which I do), I need to pass a reference to a JS function as the single argument.   I'm attempting to use an UpdatePanel, but can't get partial-page updates to work. When I look at the ScriptManager's IsInAsyncPostBack property, it's always false. Here's a page that reproduces the issue. • Is there more to HTML forms than http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_forms.asp ?

  I am creating a form designer. It will generate PHP code which will produce an HTML form. Users will fill in fields and the PHP will store user input in a MySql database (and, of course, they can use the designer to generate forms which query the database). I am using Borland C++ Builder (very similar to Delphi & and you can get the same idea from VB, MSVC, Qt ... any IDE with a RAD GUI designer). Looking at the W3C page http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_forms.asp it seems that the components I can use for my form and retrieve data from are - edit box / TEdit / <input type="text" - memo / TMemo / <input type="textarea" - check box / TCheckBox / <input type="CheckBox" - Combo box / TComboBox / <select ... <option... - Radio group / TRadioGroup / <input type="radio" - Group box / TGroupBox / <fieldset ... <legend ... - Panel / TPanel / <fieldset ... I am unsure whether to allow button / TButton/ input type="button" - other than a single submit button which my form designer program automatically adds to the end of the generated form. But my real question is - did I miss any? It might be nice to have masked edit which only accepts numbers, or maybe some form of "spin control" (TUpDown, or slider + linked read only TEdit), so that the user can click & hold to increment/decrement an integer value. And a calendar component would be nice. Very important: I want to implement it all server-side in PHP, so no client-side JS or Ajax or the likes. If there anything else that I can add to make my generated forms look more impressive in the browser?

But the problem is that ,AVAudiorecorder is taking some time before starting to record , and so if i press record button multiple times continuously ,my application freezes for some time. The same code works fine without any problem when headphones are connected to device...there is no delay in recording, and the app doesn't freeze even if i press record button multiple times.   Hi all, I have a very simple application with just 2 pages on WebLogic 10.3.2 (11g), Seam 2.2.0.GA. I have a command button in each, which makes a redirect-after-post to the other. This works well, as I see the URL of the current page I am seeing in the address bar. BUT, even though I have no long-running conversations defined, after a random number of clicks, and - I think - after a random number of seconds (~10s - 60s) I get the lovely exception at the end of this post. Now, if I have understood how temporary conversations work when redirecting this happens: When I first see my application, the url is http://localhost:7001/myapp When I click the button in pageA.xhtml, I end up in "pageB.xhtml?cid=26". This is normal because Seam extends the temporary conversation of the first request to last until the renderResponse phase of the redirect. So, it uses the cid (Conversation Id) of the extended temporary conversation to find any propagated parameters. When I click the button in pageB.xhtml, I end up in pageA.xhtml?cid=26 The same cid was given to the new extended temporary conversation. This is normal because the conversation ended at the end of the previous redirect-after-post, and not the number 26 is free to use as a cid. Is this all correct? If yes, why does this happen: If I re-type the applications home address (showing pageA) and re-click, I end up in pageB.xhtml?cid=29, which is a different number than 26. But 26 has ended after the previous RenderResponse phase, befire I re-types the url. Why is it not used instead of 29? So, to sup up, 2 questions: Why do I get the exception, even though I have not started any long-running conversations? What happens exactly with the cid? On what basis does it change? Cheers,

• Stop all sounds permanently in AS3

  Hi, I have a main swf which has sound on/off buttons. It has many SWF's which are loaded into different placeholders at different time. All of them have different sounds in them. In addition to that there is a music loop going on in the background. Now, this perticular swf lets call it Father will be placed in some swf later on. What I'm trying to do right now is when the sound off button is pressed turn off all the sounds permanently so the child swf's and their sounds stop too. I have found a way in AS2 : global = new Sound( ) //no movie clip target path. and add the following code to your off button. on(release){ global.setVolume(0); //mutes all sound } and for on button on(release){ global.setVolume(100); //un mutes all sound } which ofcourse does not work for AS3. So how can I stop all sounds permanently in AS3? Secondly what if I have one sound (my background loop) which I want to keep going on. Would be a lot of help, been searching for a while now without a appropriate answer.

• How can I pass FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie from Data Access Layer Class to WebService to Javas

  I am using DotNetOpenAuth in my ASP.Net Website. I have modified it to work with Facebook Connect as well, using the same methods and database structures. Now I have come across a problem. I have added a Facebook Connect button to a login page. From that HTML button, I have to somehow pull information from the Facebook Connect connection and pass it into a method to authenticate the user. The way I am currently doing this is by: Calling a Javascript Function on the onlogin function of the FBML/HTML Facebook Connect button. The javascript function calls a Web service to login, which it does correctly. The web service calls my data access layer to login. And here is the problem: FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie is set at the data access layer. The Cookie is beyond the scope of the user's page and therefore is not set in the browser. This means that the user is authenticated, but the user's browser is never notified. So, I need to figure out if this is a bad way of doing what I need or if there is a better way to accomplish what I need. I am just not sure and have been trying to find answers for hours. Any help you have would be great.

  I am new with jQuery. I have a servlet based application which render an HTML form. This form is submitted via a function and the submit button IS NOT submit button in HTML. It's a regular button that calls a javascript function to do the submission. When running the submission function, the servlet also run a function called doCheck() which is in javascript. This doCheck() function can be defined per page basis. if doCheck returns false, then the servlet will stop the submission; else it will submit the form. I want to use jQuery validation to fit the servlet application. Is there a way to customize jQuery validation to be triggered manually (ie. only when doCheck() is executed) but at the same time provides continuous check on the UI (ie. if one type invalid number in date field, it will gives the appropriate msg when onblur event happen)? Is there a way to make jQuery validation return true or false? Thank you.
