  • Is Microformat's date-value-pattern fully accessible?

    Has there been an announcement (outside microformats.org) that the value-class-pattern is fully accessible? e.g. given <abbr class="value" title="2008-06-24">this Tuesday</abbr>, will a screen reader say "24 June 2008" or will it say "2008 dash 6 dash 24"? History Microformats came along, and were great, except that dates etc were stored in abbr tags: <abbr class="dtstart" title="20070312T1700-06"> March 12, 2007 at 5 PM, Central Standard Time </abbr>` This lead to screen readers doing ridiculous things as noted in hAccessibility. Now that microformats.org have released the value-class-pattern it's a lot better. But I'm left unable to find a declaration from WaSP (or another accessibility source not directly tied to microformats) that declaratively states that they are now accessible to screen readers etc.

  • JSF : able to do mass update but unable to update a single row in a datatable

    I have a simple data object: Car. I am showing the properties of Car objects in a JSF datatable. If i display the properties using inputText tags, i am able to get the modified values in the managed bean. However i just want a single row editable. So have placed a edit button in a separate column and inputText and outputText for every property of Car. the edit button just toggles the rendering of inputText and outputText. Plus i placed a update button in a separate column which is used to save the updated values. However on clicking the update button, i still get the old values instead of the modified values.     I am checking for XSS vulnerabilities in a web application I am developing. This Rails app uses the h method to sanitize HTML it generates. It does, however, make use of the jQueryUI autocomplete widget (new in latest release), where I don't have control over the generated HTML, and I see tags are not getting escaped there. The data fed to autocomplete is retrieved through a JSON request immediately before display. I Possibilities: 1) Autocomplete has an option to sanitize I don't know about 2) There is an easy way to do this in jQuery I don't know about 3) There is an easy way to do this in a Rails controller I don't know about (where I can't use the h method) 4) Disallow < symbol in the model Sugestions?

  • Can I use ido-completing-read instead of completing-read everywhere?

    I'm a big fan of ido-mode, so much so that I would like to use it for things like describe-function or find-tag and so on, without having to write something like in "Can I get ido-mode-style completion for searching tags in Emacs?" for each one. Both (defalias completing-read ido-completing-read) and (setf 'completing-read 'ido-completing-read) don't work, at least partly because ido-completing-read calls completing-read in its body, so any simple redefinition would result in infinite recursion. In theory, it should be possible, since the first line of the docstring for ido-completing-read is "Ido replacement for the built-in completing-read." I've looked around a bit and can't seem to find anyone else who has attempted or succeeded at it. I realize that Icicles [2] probably provides something like this, and I may end up going with that anyway, but it is a bit more of a plunge than I care to take right now. Thanks for any help.

    I am using a wmd-editor in django, much like this one in which I am typing. I would like to allow the users to embed videos in it. For that I am using the Markdown video extension here. The problem is that I am also sanitizing user input using html5lib sanitization and it doesn't allow object tags which are required to embed the videos. One solution could be to check the input for urls of well-known video sites and skip the sanitization in those cases. Is there a better solution?

    Hello! [I am rather new to Java and Object Oriented programming] I have an abstract class Moveable with the method abstract void move() which is extended by the class Bullet and the abstract class Character, and Character is extended by the class Survivor and the class Zombie. In Survivor and Bullet the move() method doesnt require any parameters while in the class Zombie the move() method depends on the actual position of the survivor. The survivor and multiple zombies are created in the class Gui. I wanted to access the survivor in Zombie - what's the best way of doing this? In Gui i wrote a method getSurvivor() but i don't see how to access this method in Zombie? I am aware that as a workaround i could just pass a [Survivor survivor] as parameter in move() and ignore it in Bullet and Survivor, but that feels so ... bad practice. Thank you for your time!     I'm using Sandcastle 2.4.10520 and Sandcastle Help File Builder 1.8.0 to generate a .chm help file. In my documentation, I'm using <see> tags. If I try to refer an enum like <see cref="NumberStyles"/> it works perfectly. If I try to refer an enum value like <see cref="NumberStyles.AllowTrailingWhite"/> I get a link in the documentation file, but the link leads me to an MSDN Page not found I don't get any warnings - my xml documentation is correct. I've noticed that MSDN pages that refer to an enum value also have a Page not found link. For example: UInt64.Parse Method (String, NumberStyles, IFormatProvider) refers to NumberStyles.AllowHexSpecifier and this leads to another MSDN Page not found. Should I refer to the enum instead of the enum value? What should I do to refer an enum? Is it even possible?

    hello, From past few days I'm trying to develop a regex that fetch all the external links from the web pages given to it using grep. Here is my grep command grep -h -o -e "\(\(mailto:\|\(\(ht\|f\)tp\(s\?\)\)\)\://\)\{1\}\(.*\?\)" "/mnt/websites_folder/folder_to_search" -r now the grep seem to return everything after the external links in that given line Example if an html file contain something like this on same line GoogleYahoo then the given grep command return the following result http://www.google.com">Google</a><p><a href='https://yahoo.com'>Yahoo</a></p> the idea here is that if an html file contain more than one links(`irrespective in a,img etc`) in same line then the regex should fetch only the links and not all content of that line I managed to developed the same in rubular.com the regex is as follow ("|')(\b((ht|f)tps?:\/\/)(.*?)\b)("|') with work with the above input but iam not able to replicate the same in grep can anyone help I can't modify the html file so don't ask me to do that neither I can look for each specific tags and check their attributes to to get external links as it addup processing time and my application doesn't demand that Thank You

    I have a column called post_tags where there is sometimes one tag entry and sometimes multiple tags stored. These are separated by * symbols. I want to display these out to the screen one by one. If there were just one item inside the cell I would have used: $query = mysql_query("SELECT post_tags FROM posts WHERE id=$id"); while ($result = mysql_fetch_assoc($query)) { $result['post_tags']; } But how can I display each entry individually when there are multiple ones in one cell (is this what the explode function is for)?

  • Write data to an xml file.

    My aim is to write an XML file with few tags whose values are the regional language. I'm using Python to do this and using IDLE(Pythong GUI) for programming. While I try to write the words in an xmls file it gives the following error. UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode characters in position 0-4: ordinal not in range(128) For now, I'm not using any xml writer library instead I'm opening a file "test.xml" and writing the data into it. This error is encountered by the line: f.write("\t\" + data + "\"). If I replace the above write statement with print statement then it prints the data properly on Python Shell. I'm reading the data from an excel file which is not in the UTF8,16, or 32 encoding formats. Its in some other format. cp1252 is reading the data properly. Any help in getting this data writtent oan xml would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Bob

  • jQuery DataTables is messing op my CSS grids in IE8, how to fix?

    I am using ASP.NET MVC3 with the jQuery Datatable plug in. I am having an issues with my CSS layout when the datatable is on a page. If there is no datatable then everything displays fine. When the datatable is on the screen then it overlaps the footer of my website. I can't seem to get this to display correctly. I have a grid layout using the YUI3, and this is what I all use from YUI3 (in this order): cssreset-min cssfonts-min cssgrids-min cssbase-min This works fine in the latest version of FireFox. I am only testing on IE8, this is a requirement and most of the people at my work uses IE8. I have minified my HTML so that only the bare minimum is available. As I know, I've to call makeTransliteratable(elementIds, opt_options) method in the API call to define which input fields to make transliteratable, and in my case here I can't predefine those fields manually.   • Linq to Entities and LEFT OUTER JOIN issue with MANY:1 relations

    Can somebody tell me, why does Linq to Entities translate many to 1 relationships to left outer join instead of inner join? Because there's referential constraint on DB itself that ensures there's a record in the right table, so inner join should be used instead (and it would work much faster) If relation was many to 0..1 left outer join would be correct. Question Is it possible to write LINQ in a way so it will translate to inner join rather than left outer join. It would speed query execution a lot... I haven't used eSQL before, but would it be wise to use it in instead of LINQ? Edit I updated my tags to include technology I'm using in the background: Entity Framework V1 Devart dotConnect for Mysql MySql database If someone could test if the same is true on Microsoft SQL server it would also give me some insight if this is Devart's issue or it's a general L2EF functionality... But I suspect EF is the culprit here.

    So I am working on a jsp/servlet that came to me and I'm looking at the jsp file and it is just a jungle of jstl tags, java code and html thrown together. At first it looked like someone ran the standard eclipse formatter on it and had the page width set to 40 so alot of stuff is broken up, I tried to format it with a larger page width but that seemed to make it worse to the point of not being able to tell what is going on without formatting parts of it first. Anyone have any luck with any jsp/code formatter?

My tags file is generated very well and here is a simple row in it. my.namespace.classname /path/to/file.js /^my.namespace.classname = function(first_arg,$/;" f Here is an example what i need to omnicomplete: my.namespace.cla <- omnicomplete list with all classnames in the my.namespace The above is the key to my problem, because it looks like omnicomplete searches only namespace without including "my." in front of it. So i see other element in the omnicomplete list and not my classname at all. However, if i type :tag my.namespace.classname for example gvim opens the correct file at the correct position. What is wrong and how can I make it work?

    Hi there, I'm making a little iphone game, and I would get some clues. Let's imagine: Two background sprites moving pretty fast from right to left, and moving up and down with accelerometer. I guess I can't use animations here, cause the movement of the background is recalculated at each frame. So I use a schedule with an interval of 0.025s and move my sprites at each clock with a : sprite.position = ccp(x, y); So here is my problem: the result is laggy, with only these two sprites. I tried both declaring sprites in the header, and getting them with CCNodes and Tags. It's quite the same. So if someone can give me a hint on what is the best way to do that, that would be so nice. I wonder if the problem can't be the fact that sprites are moving very fast, but i'm not sure. Anyway, thanks for your time. J.

In my web.xml I have things setup like this: java.io.IOException /queryException.jsp java.lang.Exception /error.jsp The problem is the error.jsp is the only page that ever shows, even if an IOException is thrown. The order the tags appear in doesn't matter; if I remove the java.lang.Exception tag though, I can get queryException to show for IOExceptions. What is the solution here? How can I keep a general error page for all exceptions EXCEPT for those with specific pages?

  • create a simple pdf report from html

    I'm looking for a way to generate pdf files from html In order to make simple tabular reports I would need the following features table rendering variable page size repeating headers / footers on every page calculated page number / total page css support would be nice I know there have been many similar questions in stackoverflow, but I don't know if there's a product that supports the aforementioned features... Ideally, the source would be a plain and simple well built html with css, (I'm building the html files, so I can adapt to the products needs, that is, it won't have to render every piece of html crap you can throw at a browser) and with some custom tags to configure headings, footer, page size, etc... then I would run a command line to convert it from html to pdf. I think http://www.allcolor.org/YaHPConverter/ does something like that
