Is it possible for anyone to suggest me material for staring with xsl-fo, so that I can code my own xsl-fo., because the tags and syntax are very difficult to understand.

• Error including image in Latex

  I am getting the following error while compiling my Latex File : ! LaTeX Error: Cannot determine size of graphic in tree.jpg (no BoundingBox). Why do I get this error ? What has this to do with an .eps file ? Infact, I could compile it fine with MacTex on my machine. But when I submit it online to a scientific journal for publication, it compiles it on the server and sends me the resultant PDF which as all these error that prevent it from compiling. I am using the following syntax for including the images : \begin{figure}[!h] \begin{center} \scalebox{0.45}{ \includegraphics{tree.jpg}} \end{center} \caption{\small A sample} \label{tree} \end{figure} What should I do ? Could it be that their server is using an old compiler ? UPDATE : It finally worked. I converted the first image to PDF and the compilation happened perfectly. I guess it used the bounding box value from that PDF and applied it to all images.

  I'd like an instance variable object to adopt a protocol. @interface GameScene : Scene <AVAudioPlayerDelegate> { @private Layer *content <CocosNodeOpacity>; } For example I'd like my Layer object to adopt the <CocosNodeOpacity> so that I can get the methods -(GLubyte) opacity; //and -(void) setOpacity: (GLubyte) opacity; for free. The syntax shown above is invalid. Is it possible to achieve this without creating a new implementation file and creating a custom object? Thanks.

  Hi Folks, i have got a php-script foo.php #!/usr/bin/php -c /etc/php5/cli/php.ini -q <?php echo 'hello'; // & do some stuff ?> I call this script not wrapped by a sh-script but using it directly in a cron job. To get rid of it's output i normally would just create a sh-file which calls /usr/bin/php -c /etc/php5/cli/php.ini -q foo.php > /dev/null 2 > /dev/null now i'd like to do this in the interpreter-declaration of the php file it self... so i am looking for the syntax for: #!/usr/bin/php -args [file's content] > /redirect 2 > /redirect i have kind of a hard time googleing for it... so if anybody could point me into the right direction i would really appreciate it! • Weird SQL Server 2005 Collation difference between varchar() and nvarchar()

  Can someone please explain this: SELECT CASE WHEN CAST('iX' AS nvarchar(20)) > CAST('-X' AS nvarchar(20)) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END, CASE WHEN CAST('iX' AS varchar(20)) > CAST('-X' AS varchar(20)) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END Results: 0 1 SELECT CASE WHEN CAST('i' AS nvarchar(20)) > CAST('-' AS nvarchar(20)) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END, CASE WHEN CAST('i' AS varchar(20)) > CAST('-' AS varchar(20)) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END Results: 1 1 On the first query, the nvarchar() result is not what I'm expecting, and yet removing the X make the nvarchar() sort happen as expected. (My original queries used the '' and N'' literal syntax to distinguish varchar() and nvarchar() rather than CAST() and got the same result.) Collation setting for the database is SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS.

Is there some sort of annotation that would allow the method to appear to accept raw MessageResponse objects but in actuality work the same as shown below? I have a bunch of royalties in 0.# form (royalty) I have a title ID # (title_id) and I need to show the new increase in royalties so that I can use the data.   Maybe this should be a community wiki page... What unix text editor should I learn? My co-workers mostly use vi. I am thinking about vim because the syntax highlighting seems appealing. Is there any advantage to vi over vim? I know that there are a lot of emacs fans out there too? Is there any reason to learn a specific editor? Can you point me to some good learning references (for your suggested editor)? Thanks!

  Hello, Most IDEs (Eclipse, Netbeans, Intelij) provide contextually smart suggestions about the current statement you're writing. We would like to do the same thing (In Java for Java). We considered tokenizing the input and building our own abstract syntax trees, but quickly realized that could be a month long project in and of its self. We also started digging through the source code for the above mentioned IDEs, but it appears (correct me if I'm wrong) that the auto-complete code is pretty tightly woven with the rest of the IDE. We're wondering if anyone knows of a relatively isolated package that we could pull into our project to provide this auto-complete functionality. Thanks!

• jQuery Validation: Validating Checkboxes with Different Names

  I have a set of 4 checkboxes, all with different names, and require that at least 1 is checked. I know there are a few posts on here already trying to answer this question. The solution that seems to be most logical to me is the answer posted on Question 1734840, but I can't seem to get it working! What's wrong with my code? Or any other new coding ideas to get this working? I have set the class on all of them to 'require-one'. • Why is this exception thrown when trying to match this regex in Java?

  GCC documentation (http://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc/Function-Attributes.html) states in 6.29 Declaring Attributes of Functions "naked Use this attribute on the ARM, AVR, IP2K, RX and SPU ports to indicate that the specified function does not need prologue/epilogue sequences generated by the compiler. It is up to the programmer to provide these sequences. The only statements that can be safely included in naked functions are asm statements that do not have operands. All other statements, including declarations of local variables, if statements, and so forth, should be avoided. Naked functions should be used to implement the body of an assembly function, while allowing the compiler to construct the requisite function declaration for the assembler." Can I safely call functions using C syntax from naked functions, or only by using asm?

• Prevent OCUnit tests from running when compilation fails

  I'm using Xcode 3.2.2 and the built in OCUnit test stuff. One problem I'm running into is that every time I do a build my unit tests are run, even if the build failed. Let's say I make a syntax error in one of my tests. The test fails to compile and the last successful compilation of the unit tests are run. The same thing happens if one of the dependent targets fail to build - the tests are still run. Which is obviously not what I want. How can I prevent the tests from running if the build fails? If this is not possible then I'd rather have the tests never run automatically, is that possible? Sorry if this is obvious, I'm an Xcode noob. Should I be using a better unit testing framework?

  I'm just exploring ruby and was wondering about the theoretical possibility of adding a method to the class of an object. For example, define a method that takes in a parameter and would add a method to the class of that parameter (not just to the parameter object itself). Something like this example: class SomeClass end class AnotherClass end alpha = SomeClass.new beta = AnotherClass.new def AddHelloMethodTo param # This is where I'm trying to # add a method to the class of the parameter def param.class.Hello "Hello" end end AddHelloMethodTo alpha AddHelloMethodTo beta gamma = AnotherClass.new alpha.Hello beta.Hello gamma.Hello (Excuse me if I have syntax errors / typos I'm REALLY new to this!) Notice how I don't call the AddHelloMethodTo on gamma but I expect Hello to be defined because I added it to the class. Is this possible?

• Is SQL used by PDO database independent?

  Different databases have slight variations in their implementations of SQL. Does PDO handle this? If I write an SQL query that I use with PDO to access a MySQL database, and later tell PDO to start using a different type of database, will the query stop working? Or will PDO 'convert' the query so that it continues to work? If PDO does not do this, are there any PHP libraries that allow me to write SQL according to a particular syntax, and then the library will handle converting the SQL so that it will run on different databases?

  Is RDF still used widely for content syndication? Specifically, I know only of Slashdot as a large scale website syndicating content in that format (say versus RSS). Understandably this might seem vague to answer so more specifically: Can anyone list any larger sites similar in scale to Amazon or CNN using it? Any web based publishing platforms (Wordpress, Joomla, etc...) that generate syndication feeds with this xml vocabulary. Any other more quantifiable evidence that it is used for syndication online.   Hi all, first post here, I come in peace :) I've searched but can't quite find what I'm after. I am trying to manipulate the selected option of a select box. Can someone please explain why this works: $('#some_select_box').click(function() { $('#some_select_box option:selected').remove(); }); but this doesn't: $('#some_select_box').click(function() { $('this option:selected').remove(); }); I just want to use "this" instead of spelling out the id of the select box - can someone point me in the right direction for the correct syntax? It's driving me mad because it looks like it should be really simple. And I'm sure it is to someone, but not me, cos its the end of the day and I'm brain-fried... Any pointers much appreciated. • Updating Excel Cell with Non-Numeric Data in C#

  I have a query that is ExcelQuery = "Update [Sheet1$] set CITIZEN_ID = #" + value + " where CITIZEN_ID = " + value; As you can see, I'm essentially just appending a "#" onto the CITIZEN_ID field. value is a int/numeric value. So if I had "256" in the CITIZEN_ID column it would be converted to "#256" When I execute this I get an OleDbException Syntax error in date in query expression so I surrounded part of the query in single quotes like this, ExcelQuery = "Update [Sheet1$] set CITIZEN_ID = '#" + value + "' where CITIZEN_ID = " + value; With that I get yet another OleDbException this time with, Data type mismatch in criteria expression. I'm guessing for some reason the CITIZEN_ID fields don't want to take anything besides a plain number. Is there any way I can remedy this to get that pound symbol in? Thanks!

Again I'm still new to this javascript thing, so just would like to know if there is another way of setting the values of an array (just like declaring it); //correct way of declaring an array and reusing var adata = new Array('1','2','3'); //reusing of variable adata[0] = '4'; adata[1] = '5'; adata[2] = '6' ** This part is my question; I want to declare the values of the array just like declaring them to minimize the number of lines; //array declaration var data = new Array('1','2','3'); //reusing of variable data = ['4','5','6']; --- (as an example) I get an error msg "Invalid assignment left-hand side" is this possible?
