    i need to make a php code for checking hotel room avaibility where user from the present day can book rooms upto 90 days or less and there are total 30 rooms available in the hotel,so if once i store the data for a user like his booking from one date till another next time if i want to check the avaibility how should i do it in php,what would be the logic. obviously i simple query like this isn't correct for eg $this->db->select('*') ->from('default_bookings') ->where('booking_from <',$input['fromdate']) ->where('booking_till >',$input['tilldate']);

Whenever I edit and mark some events via the calendar app, it is stored in the database but if I edit the calendar.db from some outside source the changes made are not reflected in the calendar app. So my question is: Does the calendar app maintain a cache or some other form of database? If yes then where and how?

  • C# Reading and Writing a Char[] to and from a Byte[]

    Hi, I have a byte array of around 10,000 bytes which is basically a blob from delphi that contains char, string, double and arrays of various types. This need to be read in and updated via C#. I've created a very basic reader that gets the byte array from the db and converts the bytes to the relevant object type when accessing the property which works fine. My problem is when I try to write to a specific char[] item, it doesn't seem to update the byte array. I've created the following extensions for reading and writing: public static class CharExtension { public static byte ToByte( this char c ) { return Convert.ToByte( c ); } public static byte ToByte( this char c, int position, byte[] blob ) { byte b = c.ToByte(); blob[position] = b; return b; } } public static class CharArrayExtension { public static byte[] ToByteArray( this char[] c ) { byte[] b = new byte[c.Length]; for ( int i = 1; i < c.Length; i++ ) { b[i] = c[i].ToByte(); } return b; } public static byte[] ToByteArray( this char[] c, int positon, int length, byte[] blob ) { byte[] b = c.ToByteArray(); Array.Copy( b, 0, blob, positon, length ); return b; } } public static class ByteExtension { public static char ToChar( this byte[] b, int position ) { return Convert.ToChar( b[position] ); } } public static class ByteArrayExtension { public static char[] ToCharArray( this byte[] b, int position, int length ) { char[] c = new char[length]; for ( int i = 0; i < length; i++ ) { c[i] = b.ToChar( position ); position += 1; } return c; } } to read and write chars and char arrays my code looks like: Byte[] _Blob; // set from a db field public char ubin { get { return _tariffBlob.ToChar( 14 ); } set { value.ToByte( 14, _Blob ); } } public char[] usercaplas { get { return _tariffBlob.ToCharArray( 2035, 10 ); } set { value.ToByteArray( 2035, 10, _Blob ); } } So to write to the objects I can do: ubin = 'C'; // this will update the byte[] usercaplas = new char[10] { 'A', 'B', etc. }; // this will update the byte[] usercaplas[3] = 'C'; // this does not update the byte[] I know the reason is that the setter property is not being called but I want to know is there a way around this using code similar to what I already have? I know a possible solution is to use a private variable called _usercaplas that I set and update as needed however as the byte array is nearly 10,000 bytes in length the class is already long and I would like a simpler approach as to reduce the overall code length and complexity.     Let me describe my question - I have a Java application - Hibernate as the DB interfacing layer over MySQL. I get the communications link failure error in my application. The occurence of this error is a very specific case. I get this error , When I leave mysql server unattended for more than approximately 6 hours (i.e. when there are no queries issued to MySQL for more than approximately 6 hours). I am pasting a top 'exception' level description below, and adding a pastebin link for a detailed stacktrace description. javax.persistence.PersistenceException: org.hibernate.exception.JDBCConnectionException: Cannot open connection - Caused by: org.hibernate.exception.JDBCConnectionException: Cannot open connection - Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.CommunicationsException: Communications link failure - The last packet successfully received from the server was 1,274,868,181,212 milliseconds ago. The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. - Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.CommunicationsException: Communications link failure - The last packet successfully received from the server was 1,274,868,181,212 milliseconds ago. The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. - Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect the link to the pastebin for further investigation - http://pastebin.com/4KujAmgD What I understand from these exception statements is that MySQL is refusing to take in any connections after a period of idle/nil activity. I have been reading up a bit about this via google search, and came to know that one of the possible ways to overcome this is to set values for c3p0 properties as c3p0 comes bundled with Hibernate. Specifically, I read from here http://www.mchange.com/projects/c3p0/index.html that setting two properties idleConnectionTestPeriod and preferredTestQuery will solve this for me. But these values dont seem to have had an effect. Is this the correct approach to fixing this? If not, what is the right way to get over this?     Hi all, I have a rather large database that has alot of decimal columns in alot of tables, the customer has now changed their mind and wants all the numbers (decimals) to have a precision of 3 d.p. instead of the original two. Is there any quick way of going through all the tables in a database and changing any decimal column in that table to have 3.d.p instead of 2 d.p? The db is on sql 2005. Any help would be great.

I would like a fix that doesn't just add a gridrow, but actually refreshes the data and fetches the new row from the db. The table is ID - AutoNumber [pkey] Fname - Text Lname - Text Address - Text The query string I Use is "Insert into TblMain (Fname,Lname,Address) Values ('"+fname+"','"+lname+"','"+adrs+"')" No errors are returned, the query executes but data is not added to the db. Inserting to table using which does not have an autonumber data column works perfectly. What am I missing?
