• Why does Mysql Xampp restart only when i run the mysqld.exe file manually?

  I am using mysql-xampp v3.0.2 version. while restarting the mysql server first it show me the running status and after 2or3s it stops running automatically. • Cisco SA520 to Adtran 1234 no DHCP transfer

  I am trying to set up a Cisco SA520 to run DHCP on my network. I have a vendor provided switch, the Adtran 1234, and it provides DHCP for our phone systems on VLAN 200. I do not have access to the Adtran, but the vendor gave me a IP on port 1 for WAN and said port 2 should be for the "trust" side should go. I did setup a mini lab where, Adtran 1 went to SA520 WAN port, and SA520 trust 1 went to my laptop. Everything worked fine, I could ping and get internet using the DHCP scope I put on the SA520. I then unplugged my computer from SA520 trust 1 and plugged it into Adtran 2. I plugged my computer into Adtran 23 and I dont get DHCP or even a link light. If I restart my machine, I get a brief link and then it dies once the machine boots. I have tried several ports on the Adtran and none seem to work. Different cables as well. However, when I plug a phone into the Adtran, the phone boot immediately and shows link. Thoughts?

• Updating a staging server (from a CI server) in a Vagrant box with Chef

  I'm using Vagrant + Chef (chef_client provisioner) to create & provision a staging environment for my server. And I have a Jenkins job set up that is run every time I push to my 'develop' branch. In the Jenkins job, I would like to update & rebuild the source code of the server in the staging box and restart it. I have already written the cookbooks that install the dependencies, configure the db etc. But I'm not sure how to run only the update & rebuild & restart stuff from the cookbooks. I understand I could always tear down the whole box and rebuild it, but provisioning the box is a lengthy process so I would like to do that as little as possible. I split my server cookbook into 3 recipes: dependencies, db_setup and server. What I want to run in the my Jenkins job is the "server" recipe only. But I dont' understand how can I do that... If I specify the run_list on my Chef server, then I lose the ability to provision the whole box from scratch. Basically, I would like to be able to tell Vagrant from the command line what recipes Chef should run. Is that possible somehow? Cheers!

• Passenger not booting Rails App

  I'm at the end of ability, so time to ask for help. My hosting company are moving me to a new server. I've got my own VPS. It's a fresh CentOS 5 install with Plesk 9.5.2 Essentially Passenger just doesnt seem to be booting the Rails app. It's like it doesnt see it's a Rails app to be booted. I've got Rails 3.0 install with Ruby 1.9.2 built from source. I can run Bundle Install and that works. I've currently got Passenger 3 RC1 installed as per here, but have tried v2 as well. My conf/vhost.conf file looks like this: DocumentRoot /var/www/vhosts/foosite.com.au/httpdocs/public/ RackEnv development #Options Indexes I've got a /etc/httpd/conf.d/passenger.conf file which looks like this: LoadModule passenger_module /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/passenger-3.0.0.pre4/ext/apache2/mod_passenger.so PassengerRoot /usr/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/passenger-3.0.0.pre4 PassengerRuby /usr/local/bin/ruby PassengerLogLevel 2 and all I get is a 403 forbidden or the directory listing if I enable Indexes. I dont know what else to do! Yikes. There's nothing in the Apache error log that I can see. The new server admin isnt much help as I think he's a bit junior and says he doesnt know about Rails... sigh :/ I'm a programmer and server admin isnt my bag :(

• How to keep Ubuntu 11.10 and Kate editor w/terminal from changing command line when changing tabs?

  I am programming C using Kate editor in Ubuntu 11.10. It works great, but when I change tabs in Kate, the terminal line changes to the file path of the tab I click on. Normally this is not a big deal (other than annoyingly adding extra text to my terminal) however if I am currently RUNNNING a C program, it obviously will type at the command line, which is not so cool. Example terminal window for my C program (its at a menu): 1) select opt 1 2) select opt 2 Enter choice: (here it waits for prompt from user) Now when I click a tab in Kate, it wants to put in the cd / path of the file in that tab, such as: cd /home/user/os/files And of course since my terminal was waiting for prompt from user it gets that command.. not good. Perhaps there is no fix, but maybe someone knows? Obviously I could choose NOT to switch tabs or end program before switching tabs... Note: I probably made the mistake of putting this under StackOverflow which is more of a programming area - so though repost here might be best (I am not sure how to link the questions but will paste hyperlink to that post - I dont want to violate any stackoverflow/superuser violations) Suggestions on merging them are welcome or if I should delete one? • How can I fix Office Sharepoint Search service?

  For some reason, in operations server services, Office Sharepoint Search Service is MISSING! Which means I cant get Shared services working, which in turn I cannot get, and I do not think I have ever got Usage and reporting to see who is visiting my website, counter and with what OS/ browser ETC. I dont think I have ever seen this work in the 2 years trying with sharepoint. So in essense I have two problems, most important SEARCH, second usage reports. When trying to search, all i get is unknown error. Nothing is in my event viewer at all. I have tried http://www.cjvandyk.com/blog/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=96 , in the comments on that site, on other person reports search is missing entirely and is going to uninstall. Im tired of uninstall sharepoint and resinstalling to fix an odd off issue. I have things setup with Team foundation server that took forever to get work and reinstallation is not my solution. As for usage reporting, this is what microsoft responds to the " Both Windows SharePoint Services Usage logging and Office SharePoint Usage Processing must be enabled to view usage reports. Please contact your administrator to ensure that these services are enabled. " error I cannot do all the steps since SSP needs to be setup which i cant above.

  I have an issue with sendmail on my server (ubuntu 12.10) with php, mysql,and wordpress installed. Basically I want to create a contact form in my blog to receive emails from visitors directly into my gmail account but it doest work! • Keep-Alive header not sent from Tomcat 5.5 http connector?

  We're currently using a hardware load balancer, which then goes to Apache and that then goes to Tomcat 5.5 via the AJP connector. We've decided to dump apache for various reasons - In our current system it doesnt provide any advantage. However when I look at the headers sent when we do this, the "Keep-Alive: timeout=15 max=96" header doesnt get sent when you use the tomcat http connector Interestingly, i can find no documentiation on "keepalivetimeout" for tomcat5.5, but i can for tomcat6. But neither can i find evidence that tomcat5.5 doesnt support this setting. here's my connector: <Connector port="8090" maxHttpHeaderSize="8192" maxThreads="400" minSpareThreads="150" maxSpareThreads="300" enableLookups="false" connectionTimeout="2" maxKeepAliveRequests="400" disableUploadTimeout="true" /> So; Is there any way I can specify the keepalive timeout if we use the http connector with tomcat 5.5, and force this header entry to be sent? Just to be clear - the exact header entry i see back from the server is this with apache: Keep-Alive: timeout=2, max=100 But nothing from tomcat/coyote. I've looked at this some more, and I dont think the Keep-Alive header entry really matters. The problem seems to be that keep-alives are simply not supported in tomcat 5.5 http connector? • Nvidia GTS 360M in Asus laptop shuts off when gaming on external display

  I have had this problem on my Asus G51j Intel I5, Nvidia GTS360M graphics card. Just updated the drivers to latest off Nvidias site. Most games I play, If I hook it up through an external monitor(this happens whether it's HDMI or VGA). The laptop hard shuts down after about 20 minutes, give or take. This tends to happen on more graphically intense games like Call of dutys, bioshock. I'm running Windows 7, latest nvidia drivers. Games work fine on my laptops screen, and Movies, general computing work fine on the external displays. The laptop always sits on a cooling pad and the latest time was in front of my AC unit, I ran heatfan or whatever the heat tracking software was, and my temperatures were normal through a shut down. This has been happening for the life of the laptop. I dont play very many games, and even fewer on an external monitor, so this issue doesnt come up much Is it possible I have a faulty graphics card? Is there anything else I can try?

  I have a Grails web application (just a standard war file) deployed on a Ubuntu 10.10 server running on tomcat 6. My database is postgresql. The problem is that every so often (once or twice a day after inactivity) when I try to log into this web application it just freezes. I can navigate to the login page but when I try and login (first time the DB is hit, might be a clue..?) the application just freezes indefinitely, no 500 response code... the browser just waits and waits. I followed the instructions detailed here because the problem described sounded the same as mine. My GC logging showed no long running GC, all sub sec. • USB Mouse and Keyboard not working in Linux 4 Tegra

  I am a new person in Tegra Linux development. I have Tamontem NG Evaluation board with Tegra 3 Chip. I installed L4T sample file system from NVIDIA tegra Resources (https://developer.nvidia.com/linux-tegra) and installed the file system as described in the documentation provided in NVIDIA site. Already these was an SD card with L4T running. i dont want to change the boot loader. So I copied the boot.scr.uimg to root (/) folder and uImage to boot(/boot/) and it starts booting from the existing SD card. After that while booting, some errors occurred in some Bluetooth devices (there is no bluetooth device in the board). So I disabled Bluetooth by giving the following command sudo mv /etc/init/bluetooth.conf /etc/init/bluetooth.conf.noexec Now the problem is that mouse and keyboard are not working. So i cannot login. Even though i installed desktop, the mouse and keyboard are not working. But mouse and keyboard are enumerating. lsusb command is showing the USB mouse and keyboard. The installed file system is Ubuntu 13.04. Linux Kernel version is 3.1 What to do. Please help.Thanks in Advance.

• windows cant "see" camera

  So I bought a lil emerson camera and I am trying to get it to read the thing on windows 7. The instructions for the camer say when you first hook it up via usb AUTOPLAY will come up and your good to go. Well that worked for me the first time I hooked it up. However the 2nd time, it started trying to install drivers. Since then I can't get it to show up in windows explorer. I have tried disabling and uninstalling everything and trying to start from scratch but its useless, I'm stuck with having to pull the sd card everytime. I really dont like doing this as its a cheap camera, so if I can fix the communication between the devices via usb I would be really happy. As of right now the device installation shows a checked USB COMPOSITE DEVICE and 3 X'd GENERIC IMAGE DEVIC. Can someone please help me get this sorted. PS there are no drivers for this camera, not in the packaging, not available from emerson, and to be honest it shouldn't need any. The only function the camera has when hooked up via USB is charging and access to the DCIM. The charging still works, but the drive just won't load. Any suggestions?

  I use net-snmp. I try to add my own mibs (no need in handler, just a MIB that i can get and set by snmp call), so i followed the scalar example. In order to add my own mibs i defined them in the mib file and create an agent extension.(see below). It work, so i have now an integer MIB. Now i want to add string mib, so i define the MIB , but i dont find a register API for string, like i have for the int - netsnmp_register_int_instance.   There are two configurations of the Dell Studio 14 (1458) which I'm looking at: Config 1: Core i7-720QM @ 1.6 GHz; ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5450 1GB; 4gb DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz; 500 GB SATA HDD @ 7200 RPM; Price: $999 Config 2: Core i5-430M; ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530 512MB; 4GB DDR3 RAM @ 1066 MHz; 500 GV SATA HDD @ 7200 RPM; Price: $874 What I want to know is, would config 1 still be able to do decent gaming (maybe some Starcraft II), and is there a great performance difference between the i5 and i7 processors? Is the $130 extra worth it for the i7 and better graphics card? I do more than just basic computing. I plan on getting into web design (specifically using Photoshop and Dreamweaver), and I wish to do gaming. I know Conifg 1 is the better value, but I want to be sure that the $130 more is truly worth it. • Emails sent to outlook.com not being delivered

  I'm having an issue that is a little strange. I have a cPanel webserver that I own and have root. I was testing out emailing and noticed some issues. When I send an email to outlook.com address the email sends ok but nothing is recieved at the outlook mailbox. This is a new IP address allocation from our ISP and there was a block on gmail addresses, so we know it was used for spam. But with gmail we got a notifaction of failure and I know outlook/microsoft also send out notification. Does anyone know what could be happening here? Thanks

I have tried setting heap to 1024m, 512m and setting the stack to 64k and 128k (and each of these combinations) with no luck. My open files was originally 256 and I have bumped this to 1024. I have been googling around for a bit and all posts say to decrease heap size and increase stack size but that doesnt seem to help. Anyone have anymore ideas? • Unable to connect to FTP server using Filezilla with router in-between

Status: Server did not properly shut down TLS connection Error: Could not connect to server I use a cradlepoint CTR35 wifi router to connect to the wired internet connection. When i connect to the same server without this router, the connection works flawlessly. So i guess there is some problem with my router firewall settings, but i dont know what! Can somebody help me out please? Note: The server requires EXPLICIT FTP OVER TLS and does not work with plain FTP sessions. And i can connect to other servers using plain FTP with the router in between.

• Opening port 80 in router has no results

  A friend of mine has a ADSL modem and I need to forward some ports. I have already forwarded the 1521 port (Oracle) and it's working fine. Now I need to forward the port 80. I already set up his IIS bindings to this port, and also forwarded the port like this video shows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLKD-fyexoo So I think I did everything correctly. The local IP address is also the same as the machine where the IIS server is running. I'm sorry, but I can't post images since i don't have 10 points :( Somehow I can't forward this port, yougetsignal.com keeps saying that the door is closed. When I try to open the port, the Control Panel says me that I have to access the control panel in the 8080 port, because the 80 port will be open. Ok, that's fine. But I'm still able to access it in the 80 port, and when I try to access it in the 8080 port, it doesn't work. I'm trying it with the TPLINK 8816, but I also tried to open it in the Opticom DsLink 279, and it didn't worked (using another machine), I got the exact same results. He has a dynamic IP address, but he is also using No-ip, so I can always access his Oracle database in a certain static address. The 1521 port is open. I also tried to disable the firewall in Windows, but that makes no sense to me, since the router doesn't really open the port 80. Clearly I'm missing something. I have never done it in my life, so I dont know how to proceed. Restarting the router was the first I did, no results. I'm accessing his laptop through TeamViewer, so I'm testing the port outside his local network. Edit: My ISP says that they allow to open ports, and the 1521 port is opened. What could I do to open the 80 port?

And I am not sure, if the data from the request can actually be used for tracking :) question: I want the awesome features of the addon, without connecting to their server: marked text should be send only to the searchmachines. what should I do next? thank you.

• RabbitMQ message consumers stop consuming messages

  Hi server fault, Our team is in a spike sprint to choose between ActiveMQ or RabbitMQ. We made 2 little producer/consumer spikes sending an object message with an array of 16 strings, a timestamp, and 2 integers. The spikes are ok on our devs machines (messages are well consumed). Then came the benchs. We first noticed that somtimes, on our machines, when we were sending a lot of messages the consumer was sometimes hanging. It was there, but the messsages were accumulating in the queue. When we went on the bench plateform : cluster of 2 rabbitmq machines 4 cores/3.2Ghz, 4Gb RAM, load balanced by a VIP one to 6 consumers running on the rabbitmq machines, saving the messages in a mysql DB (same type of machine for the DB) 12 producers running on 12 AS machines (tomcat), attacked with jmeter running on another machine. The load is about 600 to 700 http request per second, on the servlets that produces the same load of RabbitMQ messages. We noticed that sometimes, consumers hang (well, they are not blocked, but they dont consume messages anymore). We can see that because each consumer save around 100 msg/sec in database, so when one is stopping consumming, the overall messages saved per seconds in DB fall down with the same ratio (if let say 3 consumers stop, we fall around 600 msg/sec to 300 msg/sec). During that time, the producers are ok, and still produce at the jmeter rate (around 600 msg/sec). The messages are in the queues and taken by the consumers still "alive". We load all the servlets with the producers first, then launch all the consumers one by one, checking if the connexions are ok, then run jmeter. We are sending messages to one direct exchange. All consumers are listening to one persistent queue bounded to the exchange. That point is major for our choice. Have you seen this with rabbitmq, do you have an idea of what is going on ?
