• Split string into smaller part with constrain [PHP RegEx HTML]

  Hello, I need to split long string into a array with following constrains: Each part will have a limited number of character (e.g. not more than 8000 character) Each part can contain multiple sentences (delimited by . [full stop]) but never a partial sentences. Except if the last part of the string (as last part may not have any full stop. The string may contain HTML tags. But the tag can not be divided as ( to ). That means HTML tag should be intact. But starting tag and ending tag can be stay on different segment/chunk. I think regular expression with preg_split can do it. Would please help me with the proper RegEx. Thank you Sadi

• [C++] Wrong EOF when unzipping binary file

  Hello there, I tried to unzip a binary file to a membuf from a zip archive using Lucian Wischik's Zip Utils: http://www.wischik.com/lu/programmer/zip_utils.html http://www.codeproject.com/KB/files/zip_utils.aspx FindZipItem(hz, filename.c_str(), true, &j, &ze); char *content = new char[ze.unc_size]; UnzipItem(hz, j, content, ze.unc_size); delete[] content; But it didn't unzip the file correctly. It stopped at the first 0x00 of the file. For example when I unzip an MP3 file, it will only unzip the first 4 bytes: 0x49443303 (ID3\0) because the 5th to 8th byte is 0x00000000. I also tried to capture the ZR_RESULT, and it always return ZR_OK (which means completed without errors). • Creating compound applications in Windows 7

  I need to port a suite of Windows applications (running under XP with little security turned on) to Windows 7 with various levels of security, depending on how our clients may configure it. Each functional area is a seperate executable or DLL that is downloaded and registered by a central 'compound' application. This means that the different parts are all joined together to form in effect a large single application. My problem is that the compound application knows about the other applications via COM registery, either as a typelibrary or as OCXs, where appropriate. I have tried several questions here to try and solve the problems I am getting, but I don't seem to be able to get around the problem of needing elevated access to register applications and access the registry. Our clients will be expecting the same (relatively) seemless download and activation process as current under XP. So does anyone have a solution for registering typelibraries and OCX controls without need to go through an elevation process. Thanks in advance

  I am currently using Delphi 7 and unsure whether to upgrade. I see the following means of debugging and wonder if there are others or which FOSS tools a small company can use (we don't do much Windows programming). 1 Debug in the IDE, by setting breakpoints, using watches, etc 2 Debug in the IDE, by using the Event Log I got some good info from this page and tweaked it to add timestamps and indent/outdent on procedure call/return, so that I can see nested calls more quickly. Does anyone know of anything better ? 3 Using a profiler 4 Any others? Such as MadExcept, etc?

• Best way to perform authentication on every request

  Hello. In my asp.net mvc 2 app, I'm wondering about the best way to implement this: For every incoming request I need to perform custom authorization before allowing the file to be served. (This is based on headers and contents of the querystring. If you're familiar with how Amazon S3 does rest authentication - exactly that). I'd like to do this in the most perfomant way possible, which probably means as light a touch as possible, with IIS doing as much of the actual work as possible. The service will need to handle GET requests, as well as writing new files coming in via POST/PUT requests. The requests are for an abitrary file, so it could be: GET http://storage.foo.com/bla/egg/foo18/something.bin POST http://storage.foo.com/else.txt Right now I've half implemented it using an IHttpHandler which handles all routes (with routes.RouteExistingFiles = true), but not sure if that's the best, or if I should be hooking into the lifecycle somewhere else?   I'm starting a blog and i'm in the process of choosing where should i host it. For now i want a free solution like Blogger or Wordpress.com. The problem i'm facing is that i want to use files i have in a S3 bucket in my blog but none of the blog solutions i found supports any kind of server code, which means that in order to use S3 query string authentication i would have to put vulnerable information in the client. For obvious reasons i don't want to do that. So, i'm looking for ideas on how i can safely include content from S3 in a free blog host.

• Custom "Very Long Int" Division Issue

  Hey everyone, So, for a very silly project in C++, we are making our own long integer class, called VLI (Very Long Int). The way it works (they backboned it, blame them for stupidity) is this: User inputs up to 50 digits, which are input as string. String is stored in pre-made Sequence class, which stores the string in an array, in reverse order. That means, when "1234" is input, it gets stored as [4|3|2|1]. So, my question is this: How can I go about doing division using only these arrays of chars? If the input answer is over 32 digits, I can't use ints to check for stuff, and they basically saying using long ints here is cheating. Any input is welcome, and I can give more clarification if need be, thanks everyone.

  I have created a theme where I already have a custom options page where I let the user set text for footer, twitter user and some other things and that works well. Now i'd like to add the functionality of letting the user select which font that should be used for content on the site. How can i accomplish this? I can probably create a php file that outputs something like: <style type="text/css"> body{ font-family: <?php echo get_option('my-font');?>; } </style> and include that file in header.php, but that means that I have to hit php for every request for this css and I want to avoid that if posssible.

• Need to read .symtab

  I am frustrated. I have a simple doubt .. I compile a simple program with gcc and if I see the section header using objdump, it does not show the section ".symtab". for the same a.out file, readelf shows the section. see the below snip - [25] .symtab SYMTAB 00000000 000ca4 000480 10 26 2c 4 [26] .strtab STRTAB 00000000 001124 00025c 00 0 0 1 Why ? In the default linker script I don't find a definition for .symtab section. If I add a definition by myself like in the linker script : .... PROVIDE(__start_sym) .symtab : { *(.symtab)} PROVIDE(__end_sym) .... the difference b/w the addresses of __start_sym and __end_sym is zero, which means no such section is added in the output file. But the readelf is able to read the section and dump the contents of this section .. How ? why ?

  Hello, I am using a code sample to connect to a webcam, and don't really understand the meaning of the variables passed to the SendMessage method. SendMessage(DeviceHandle, WM_CAP_SET_SCALE, -1, 0) SendMessage(DeviceHandle, WM_CAP_SET_PREVIEW, -1, 0) What does the -1 mean? To scale/preview or not to scale/preview? I'd prefer that zero/one would be used, zero meaning false, and have no idea what the -1 means. SendMessage(DeviceHandle, WM_CAP_EDIT_COPY, 0, 0); What does the zero mean in this case? Or does this message is simply void and the zero has no meaning, similar to the last zero argument? Btw, what DOES the last zero argument mean? Thank you very much in advance :)

• What's a good way to detect wrap-around in a fixed-width message counter?

  I'm writing a client application to communicate with a server program via UDP. The client periodically makes requests for data and needs to use the most recent server response. The request message has a 16-bit unsigned counter field that is echoed by the server so I can pair requests with server responses. Since it's UDP, I have to handle the case where server responses arrive out of order (or don't arrive at all). Naively, that means holding on to the highest message counter seen so far and dropping any incoming message with a lower number. But that will fail as soon as we pass 65535 messages and the counter wraps back to zero. Is there a good way to detect (with reasonable probability) that, for example, message 5 actually comes after message 65,000? The implementation language is C++.

Is there any to install the app without doing the above task of building the project with the provisioning profile. Means i have a build of an app and a newly downloaded provisioning profile.   hi there I need to have some images into my database, and the thing is that i need that images to have certain file names, dimensions and text on it. I know how to generate some images using the opencv lib, but this means that i need to install the lib and do just that job(which sounds as reinventing the wheel). Do you think is worth to do that or maybe you have a better idea? ps: the images are for testing stage of a software application, so i don;t need anything fancy or artistic.

  I am developing a multilingual web application that has a nice looking UI. I thought using CSS 3's font-face property to make it even nicer UI, but I'm not really sure if that's a good idea. According to some people I have talked to, different languages need different fonts. This means that there is no single font that can display characters of all languages, because the same character may look different across languages. For example, according to Wikipedia, the Unicode code point U+4EE4 looks different in Korean and Japanese languages. So my question is, would it make most sense to contain the fonts within the language packs -- or within the themes of my UI?

• KMeans clustering for more than 5 million vectors

  I have hit a real problem. I need to do some Kmeans clustering for 5 million vectors, each containing about 32 cols. I tried out Mahout which requires linux and I am on windows, I am restrained from using a Linux OS and any sort of simulator. Can anyone suggest a KMeans clustering algorithm that is scalable upto 5M vectors and can converge quickly? I have tested a few but they wont scale. Which means they are slow and take forever to complete. Thanks

  I am currently looking at using either the Taxonomy or CCK module on my Drupal site as a means to create a hierarchical system. However, I'm a little confused on which one would best suit my needs, or if there is something else that would work better. Basically, there will be probably 70 or so "mini-sites" on the website I'm working on, each with a landing page and about 5 sub-pages of detailed information. I need a way to mark those sub-pages as being sub-pages of their parent page, as well as create a menu system to navigate between them. What is the best way this could be done?   So client gives me a string like "1,23,23,abc,ggg,544,tf4," from user 12 . There can be infinit number of elements with no spaces just value,value,... structure. I have users table (with users uId(key), names etc). I have streams table with ( sId(key), externalID, etc values). User sends me externalId's. And I need to hawe externalId's in play list (not my sId's). I need some way to store such array into my DB and be able to get it from DB. I need to be able to do 2 things return such string back to user be able to get na array from it like {1; 23; 23; abc; ggg; 544; tf4;} So what is best method (best here means shourt(small amount of) code) to store such data into db to retrivew stored tata in bouth ways shown

  Hi, everyone, I've started working yesterday on the Euler Project in Clojure and I have a problem with one of my solutions I cannot figure out. I have this function: (defn find-max-palindrom-in-range [beg end] (reduce max (loop [n beg result []] (if (>= n end) result (recur (inc n) (concat result (filter #(is-palindrom? %) (map #(* n %) (range beg end))))))))) I try to run it like this: (find-max-palindrom-in-range 100 1000) and I get this exception: java.lang.Integer cannot be cast to clojure.lang.IFn [Thrown class java.lang.ClassCastException] which I presume means that at some place I'm trying to evaluate an Integer as a function. I however cannot find this place and what puzzles me more is that everything works if I simply evaluate it like this: (reduce max (loop [n 100 result []] (if (>= n 1000) result (recur (inc n) (concat result (filter #(is-palindrom? %) (map #(* n %) (range 100 1000)))))))) (I've just stripped down the function definition and replaced the parameters with constants) Thanks in advance for your help and sorry that I probably bother you with idiotic mistake on my part. Btw I'm using Clojure 1.1 and the newest SLIME from ELPA.

• Is it possible to preg replace unique variables into a string?

  What I want to do is use preg replace to replace matches within a string with a varying replacement, and I was wondering if anyone knew if that is possible in php or at least achievable by some means. For example, a string has two matches, then those matches will be replaced with two different variables. What I want are replacements to each be a unique id and I cannot figure out how this could possibly work or if php could even do this. For example if the match is 'a' and there is a sentence, 'put a smile on a person' then one 'a' will be unique id 98aksd00 and the other will be 09alkj08. I am retrieving my comments from a database so the preg replace is happening within while ($row=mysql_fetch_assoc($query)){ //preg replace If anyone could provide any insight into this, I would really appreciate it

  I did some digging in Android code, and saw the use of in the indeterminate progress bar. after trying to create my own drawable with this tag: <animated-rotate xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:drawable="@drawable/spinner_pia" android:pivotX="50%" android:pivotY="50%" android:framesCount="12" android:frameDuration="100" /> I get an error: "No resource identifier found for attribute 'frameDuration' in package 'android'" - which means that frameDuration is a private attribute. Is there a way to use this "animate-rotate" feature? My task is to replace the system's default indeterminate progress bar. I'd like to do it with as little code as possible (just change few attributes if possible). Using the ProgressBar view, setting: android:indeterminateOnly="true" android:indeterminateBehavior="cycle" android:indeterminateDuration="3500" android:indeterminateDrawable="@drawable/pia_sivuvator" and point "@drawable/pia_sivuvator" to that object would've make my task as elegant as they come but I'm stuck on those private attributes. help?

• function to find common rows between more than two data frames in R

  I have 4 data frames, and would like to find the rows whose values in a certain column do not exist in any of the other data frames. I wrote this function: #function to test presence of $Name in 3 other datasets common <- function(a, b, c, d) { is.B <- is.numeric(a$Name %in% b$Name) == 1 is.C <- is.numeric(a$Name %in% c$Name) == 1 is.D <- is.numeric(a$Name %in% d$Name) == 1 t <- as.numeric(is.B & is.C & is.D) t } However, the output is always t = 0. This means that it tells me that there are no unique rows in any data sets, even though the datas frames have very different numbers of rows. Since there are no duplicate rows in any of the data frames, I should be getting t = 1 for at least some rows in the biggest dataset. Can someone figure out what I got wrong?
