    I am using XML documentation headers on my c# files to pass the StyleCop rule SA1633. Currently, I have to use the 2 slash commenting rule to allow StyleCop to recognize the header. for example: // <copyright file="abc.ascx.cs" company="MyCompany.com"> // MyCompany.com. All rights reserved. // </copyright> // <author>Me</author> This works fine for StyleCop, however I would like to use the 3 slash commenting rule to enable visual studio to understand the comments as XML and provide the XML functionality (highlighting, auto indenting etc) /// <copyright file="abc.ascx.cs" company="MyCompany.com"> /// MyCompany.com. All rights reserved. /// </copyright> /// <author>Me</author> The problem is that when using 3 slashes, StyleCop no longer see's the header and throws the SA1633 warning.   • iPhone core data problem : referenceData64 only defined for abstract class

    I have an application that downloads/parses a big XML file and store the information using core data (approx. 4000 objects (entities)). The XML is loaded/parsed in a different thread, which has its own NSManagedObjectContext. When trying to save the entities to the persistent store, I sometimes get the following error (about 20%) 2010-03-03 23:41:42.802 xxx[7487:4203] Exception in XML saving 2010-03-03 23:41:42.802 xxx[7487:4203] Description: * -_referenceData64 only defined for abstract class. Define -[NSTemporaryObjectID_default _referenceData64]! 2010-03-03 23:41:42.803 xxx[7487:4203] Name: NSInvalidArgumentException 2010-03-03 23:41:42.804 xxx[7487:4203] UserInfo: (null) 2010-03-03 23:41:42.805 xxx[7487:4203] Reason: * -_referenceData64 only defined for abstract class. Define -[NSTemporaryObjectID_default _referenceData64]! I have a simple integer to keep track of the entities the application creates compared to the insertedObjects property in the NSManagedObjectContext before saving, and when I get the error, these numbers do not match, insertedObjects in the NSManagedObjectContext is missing about 10 entities. I do not know how I should continue to investigate this problem, anyone has any idea how to fix this? Thanks /oscar

  • Websphere 7 simple realm (like tomcat-users.xml)

    I am trying to port a J2EE app from Tomcat to Websphere and I'm not too familiar with Websphere. The only problem I am having is authorization (I use basic-authentication in my web.xml). In Tomcat I use the tomcat-users.xml file to define my users/passwords and to what roles they belong. How do I do this "simply" in Websphere? When deploying the EAR to Websphere it also asks me to map my role from web.xml to a user or group. Do I have to set up some sort of realm? Custom user registry? Thanks. UPDATE: I configured a Standalone custom registry, however I can't get a log-in prompt for username/password. It works just fine in Tomcat, and it doesn't in Websphere.     Hi! I have a OdbcDataReader that gets data from a database and returns a set of records. The code that executes the query looks as follows: OdbcDataReader reader = command.ExecuteReader(); while (reader.Read()) { yield return reader.AsMovexProduct(); } The method returns an IEnumerable of a custom type (MovexProduct).     Hi, I want to change the build system path for building my VC++ project in VS2005. When I try to build the project, I'm getting an error that a specified header file cannot be opened. I have that header file in "Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0\Include". But the path present in 'Build system path' is "Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0\Include" which i found in the Error dialog box when i tried to open that header file through the code. So I want to change the path in build system path to "Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0\Include". How can i do this.? How to open Build system paths in VS2005.?

  • How to debug nondeterministic access violation crash?

    Our C#/COM/C++ application is crashing and I need help debugging it. Running with gflags enabled and WinDbg attached, we determined the crashes are caused by an access violation, but we haven't been able to narrow it down any more than that. We are not seeing the issue on all machines; there are a couple of machines that seem to reproduce the issue frequently but not deterministically. We have observed the application crash from simply switching away from the application (say, Alt-Tab) and then back. Output from WinDbg is below. We have been trying to systematically comment out areas of code that could be causing the problem, but we haven't had much success yet.     Good day all I have the following question: I would like to use Chart from Windows Forms due to the fact that it allows to build much more types of graphical visualisation that one from WPF Toolkit does. So, I am adding Chart control for Windows Forms as a child element into the WindowsFormsHost. But, when I run the application I and all my clients see only white area. Though, any other Windows Forms Control works great in Windows Forms Host. What is wrong with the Chart control?   • Running msiexec from a service (Local System account)

    We are working on an update system for our software. The updater should in the background as a service, and when an update is available, downloads and installs it. We need the service to install the update since the msi requires elevation to run, but some of our clients will be restricted users. The MSI is a WIX MSI and does a Major Upgrade when run. The problem is, the update does not seem to work when ran from our service. I can see msiexec run, and it returns successfully, but seems to make no changes to the system. The same command, when run from my user account works as expected. Is there some caveat to running msiexec from a Local System service? We are simply doing: System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("msiexec.exe", arguments);

  • Streaming input to System.Speech.Recognition.SpeechRecognitionEngine

    I am trying to do "streaming" speech recognition in C# from a TCP socket. The problem I am having is that SpeechRecognitionEngine.SetInputToAudioStream() seems to require a Stream of a defined length which can seek. Right now the only way I can think to make this work is to repeatedly run the recognizer on a MemoryStream as more input comes in. Here's some code to illustrate: SpeechRecognitionEngine appRecognizer = new SpeechRecognitionEngine(); System.Speech.AudioFormat.SpeechAudioFormatInfo formatInfo = new System.Speech.AudioFormat.SpeechAudioFormatInfo(8000, System.Speech.AudioFormat.AudioBitsPerSample.Sixteen, System.Speech.AudioFormat.AudioChannel.Mono); NetworkStream stream = new NetworkStream(socket,true); appRecognizer.SetInputToAudioStream(stream, formatInfo); // At the line above a "NotSupportedException" complaining that "This stream does not support seek operations."     Can someone give me a use case for setting up a Windows Server 2008 Task Scheduler task (we'll call this "test") that completes (action completed is task=201) with an error (result code=2)? This is event trigger code for another task (called "notification" that sends out an email based on the event history of the "test" task. I've got use cases for tasks that opens a program successfully and when a program fails to find the program.   • Mocking WebResponse's from a WebRequest

    I have finally started messing around with creating some apps that work with RESTful web interfaces, however, I am concerned that I am hammering their servers every time I hit F5 to run a series of tests.. Basically, I need to get a series of web responses so I can test I am parsing the varying responses correctly, rather than hit their servers every time, I thought I could do this once, save the XML and then work locally. However, I don't see how I can "mock" a WebResponse, since (AFAIK) they can only be instantiated by WebRequest.GetResponse How do you guys go about mocking this sort of thing? Do you? I just really don't like the fact I am hammering their servers :S I dont want to change the code too much, but I expect there is a elegant way of doing this.. Update Following Accept Will's answer was the slap in the face I needed, I knew I was missing a fundamental point! Create an Interface that will return a proxy object which represents the XML. Implement the interface twice, on that uses WebRequest, the other that returns static "responses". The interface implmentation then either instantiates the return type based on the response, or the static XML. You can then pass the required class when testing or at production to the service layer. Once I have the code knocked up, I'll paste some samples. Thanks Will :)

Also Visual studio 2010 ultimate. I did not upgrade the target .net framework to 4.0 because my host will not support this for ~24 hours. I have a .Tests project in the same solution that says it is targeting .net 4.0 but it still won't build even with that unloaded, same message.

I know there definitely is files in that root folder containing that file extension.

    Hello, I would like to intercept any request made to the server for XML files. I thought that it might be possible with an HttpHandler. It's coded and it works... on localhost only (?!?!). So, why is it working on localhost only?
