  • MYSQL autoincrement a column or just have an integer, difference?

    Hi, If I have a column, set as primary index, and set as INT. If I don't set it as auto increment and just insert random integers which are unique into it, does that slow down future queries compared to autincrementing? Does it speed things up if I run OPTIMIZE on a table with its primary and only index as INT? (assuming only 2 columns, and second column is just some INT value) (the main worry is the upper limit on the autoincrement as theres lots of adds and deletes in my table)

    Hi guys, I've got a string that comes from a POST form where I want to replace all spaced with some other character. Here's that I did: $cdata = str_replace(" ","#",$cdata); And I got this. --- Contact-ID#=#148 [10274da8]#Sinhronizacija#=#private [1000137d]#Uzvards#=#Zom [1000137c]#Vards#=#Tana [1000130e]#Talrunis#=#3333 [1000130e]#Mobilais#=#5555 As you can see, spaced before "[10..." are still there. Any ideas what could be the problem?

    I understand I am able to filter queryset of Foreignkey or Many2ManyFields, however, how do I do that for a simple CharField that is a Select Widget (Select Tag). For example: PRODUCT_STATUS = ( ("unapproved", "Unapproved"), ("approved", "Listed"), #("Backorder","Backorder"), #("oos","Out of Stock"), #("preorder","Preorder"), ("userdisabled", "User Disabled"), ("disapproved", "Disapproved by admin"), ) and the Field: o_status = models.CharField(max_length=100, choices=PRODUCT_STATUS, verbose_name="Product Status", default="approved") Suppose I wish to limit it to just "approved" and "userdisabled" instead showing the full array (which is what I want to show in the admin), how do I do it?     Hello, I am trying to set up a list of file names for a parameter to SHFileOperation. I want to be able to concatenate a file name onto the char array, but i dont want to get rid of the terminating character. for example, I want this: C:\...\0E:\...\0F:\...\0\0 when i use strcat(), it overwrites the null, so it looks like C:\...E:\...F:\...0\ Is there any easy way to do this? or am i going to have to code a new strcat for myself?

    How do I remove duplicate characters and keep the uniq one only. Ex. My input is EFUAHUU UUUEUUUUH UJUJHHACDEFUCU Expected output is EFUAH UEH UJHACDEF I cam across perl -pe's/$1//gwhile/(.).*\/' which is wonderful but it is removing even the single occurence of the character in output.     When I run the following program: public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception { byte str[] = {(byte)0xEC, (byte)0x96, (byte)0xB4}; String s = new String(str, "UTF-8"); } on Linux and inspect the value of s in jdb, I correctly get: s = "ì–´" on Windows, I incorrectly get: s = "?" My byte sequence is a valid UTF-8 character in Korean, why would it be producing two very different results?

    Has anyone used javascript/ajax to take data from one form field and put it into another? I'm trying to create a form that when one text input is filled out a second is auto-populated with the first letter of the word that is in the first text input. I'm thinking I can limit the second text input to one character to help get the desired result, but I'm not having luck finding the javascript to get the second text input to auto-populate from the first. Any suggestions?

  • Where does getopt_long store an unrecognized option?

    When getopt or getopt_long encounters an illegal option, it stores the offending option character in optopt. When the illegal option is a long option, where can I find out what the option was? And does anything meaningful get stored in optopt then? I've set opterr = 0 to suppress the automatically printed error message. I want to create my own message that I can print or log where I'd like, but I want to include the name of the unrecognized option.
