• How to detect if all the device on my machine have proper drivers?

  I have just installed the Xubuntu 10.04. But the display seems to be latency. When I try to copy a big file from usb disk to hard disk, the CPU is 100% used. So I doubt that some device drivers are missing. I can use lspci to show the PCI devices on my machine, but how could I tell whether proper drivers have been installed or not? Many thanks.

  Actually the matter grown from SE using. It's quite bothering to: right click on rss link, choose "copy", then swich to tunderbird, right click on rss folder, choose "subscribe", push "Add", insert, ok. I'd prefer to: right click on rss link and choose the rss folder. The second motive for the question is that I'd like to look at implementation of interprocess manipulation of thunderbird. May be there is not exactly but something similar exist.

  Somone made a Youtube video on Ditto, and that person uses Win+Num to paste items from the list. He put a screenshot of his settings on Google Plus: When I try to do the same, which is to put “1” in the text field of Position 1, and check the “Win” box to add the Windows key as the sole modifier for the shortcut, which will be Win + 1, I get an error in that says “Error Registering Position 1” in a window titled CP_Main: Could it be because Win+Num conflicts with the natural Win+Num shortcut (starts the application pinned to the taskbar in that position, or switches to that program) of Windows 7?   There are answers out there to this question, but all of them have been under explianed so hence to difficult to coprehend and use them to my advantage. I want to do the seemingly simple (but not) task of Draging a Formula (Filling a series) across Column's while increasing the formula row number relativley. For Example to drag this formula: | =A1 | =A2 | =A3 Some other notes, Transposing by copy paste has proven too difficult for the amount of data. Offset and Indirect has been used by other people to do this but I don't get how they work at all so when I attempt to use them I don't know how to format it to my range. I am tired of modifying webpages/webapp binaries and needing to change the group to www-data so the server can read them. If not what app might i use instead? Something like this: Ctrl + V I know that <kbd> is an HTML tag, but in normal HTML that just switches to a fixed-width font. In fact, that's how Word treats it if you paste something from SU into a Word doc: If there's not a standard way to do this in Word, is there a free font that might accomplish the same thing? I thought I'd seen some before but couldn't find any at the regular places I find fonts (dafont.com, fontspace.com).

• Clone drive in Windows

  I have two 2 TB external USB hard drives, call them HD1 and HD2. HD1 is USB 2, HD2 is USB 3. Each drive contains exactly one NTFS partition. I want to clone HD1 to HD2, because it's newer and much, much faster. What's the best way to do this? I don't want to do a copy-and-paste, I want to clone the whole partition. The new drive is actually a few bytes larger, so this should be possible? I don't have a second drive that can hold the image, so it would have to clone directly to the other disk (not to a file). How can I accomplish this on Windows 7? I know about Clonezilla but I would prefer not to have to boot from a CD or anything, as I don't have the capability to do that right now. I want to know if there's a way to do this while running Windows.

I don't have things like command history, coloring, etc like I do when I ssh in as any other user, so I'm curious how to get this working. • Why are my Google searches redirected?

  This machine was infected with various malware. I have scanned the system with Malwarebytes. It found and removed some 600 or so infected files. Now the machine seems to be running well with only one exception. Some Google search results are being redirected to some shady search engines. If I were to copy the url from the Google Search results and paste it in the address bar it would go to the correct site but if I click the link I will be redirected somewhere else.   So that's the serial number of my pre-installed windows copy, I take it. But am I allowed to use it again when, say, I don't know, my system gets crippled by a sneaky virus? When I double-click on it though, it opens up the VBA editor. The other question/answer refers to creating a form. Is there a step I've missed between creating a .dot to then create a form somehow before adding form elements to it? • Can't install .NET framework 4.0 on Windows XP professional version 2002 SP3 (OS bug?)

  .NET framework 4.0 install fails on Windows XP professional version 2002 SP3: I tried to run setup using "run as..." to make sure the admin rights are used ("protect my computer..." tick was deselected of course). I tried everything: installing using online/offline setup, windows update. install goes a little and then "rolls back" and says: Installation did not succeed .NET Framework 4 has not been installed because: Fatal error during installation. for more information about this problem, see the log file. the full log: http://pastebay.net/1433771 Any ideas? EDIT1: I have found this in the log: "BlockIf: You must install the 32-bit Windows Imaging Component (WIC) before you run Setup. Please visit the Microsoft Download Center to install WIC, and then rerun Setup...." So I found it, and launched "wic_x86_enu.exe" - but it said: WIC Setup error Newer version of update is already on the system. I have already installed: .NET framewrok 2.0 SP2 .NET framewrok 3.0 SP2 .NET framewrok 3.5 SP1 but I need 4.0 . EDIT2: another attempt and it's log. I have found something weird: when I formatted the hard drive and installed windows xp again - the .NET framework 4.0 installed ok, but when I plugged my 100Mbit internet cable - the operating system kind off "locked itself" and the bug returned - I could no longer install .NET framework 4.0 again. There was no reason for that to happen, for example I have windows server 2003 in local network, but I don't have active directory enabled on it or anything like that - the server just has some folders shared and thats all (all server's "features" are default). I had the second pc with the same problem - with XP on it too. This seems like the bug of Operating System to me. I couldn't find what was causing the problem. After many days I gave up: backuped everything, formatted HDD and installed Windows 7 professional 64bit. .NET framework 4.0 installed with no problem on it.

• How to show images in structure view in word 2010?

  I use a lot word with in structure view. In that view it is not possible to see images (while it was possible in 2007). When I paste an image in structure view it automatically changes the view to Print Preview. Is this a limitation introduced in 2010? If not how to get rid of it? • Underlying Concept Behind Keyboard Mappings

  I am frustrated with key mapping issues. On my Linux box, if I type Home/End in Vim, then the cursor actually moves to the beginning/end of the line. On my Mac when I am on TextEdit, if I do Fn + Left or Fn + Right, it takes me to beginning/end of the line. But if I am on Vim on my Mac terminal, then the same key combinations don't work. Why? I see online all the different cryptic settings that I have to paste in .vimrc to make this work, but I can't find any explanation for those cryptic map, imap settings. What is the underlying issue here, and how can I fix it? Thanks!

• Excel: link value once, then prevent change

  For some budgeting spreadsheets I'm working on, I'd like to link each month to a value (in this case, a percentage). However, if the original percentage is changed I ONLY want to change values going forward. For example, let's say item one is budgeted at 10%, so each month reflects 10% of the total (which changes every month). If I decide to change that to 12% going forward, I don't want the previously linked values to also change from 10 to 12% (and throw off lots of other numbers). My thought was to have a check box where if I placed an x, the values would be locked to the value at the time of placing the x and no longer change. Is this possible? I know there are options for doing a paste special, but I'm creating this spreadsheet for someone who is not very Excel savvy, so I want it to be as seamless as possible. Many thanks.
