• How do I install a driver for a Kodak esp 3250 printer?

  First my system: pentium 4 -don't remember the speed-, 1g ram, dual boot to separate physical drives, Fdos and Lubuntu 12.1 second my lan: I have four computers operating for the same printer. Intel quad core i5, 4g ram, running Windoze 7 64 bit, printer connected and shared from here. Kodak ESP 3250 Gateway 17" laptop running Windoze 7 32bit Asus tablet (small laptop) running Lumbutu 12.1 My dual boot system running Fdos and Lubuntu 12.1 The problem: I downloaded c2esp_25c-1_i386.deb, tried to install it using DEBI Package Installer, it loads the files, looks for cups driver and ends with an error: "Dependancy is not satisfiable: libcupsdriver1 (=1.4.0)" What do I do now? Is there some place that I can get the correct cups driver? further information: The Asus tablet was running Ubuntu 12.1 (very slowly and with a few crashes) and could print from the lan printer with no problems. Is there something in Ubuntu that can be loaded into Lubuntu?

• XNA - positioning after rotation

  I have a turret with a 2 gunbarrels. The turret rotates towards my mouse. So far no problem. When it creates a few bullets and positions them at the end of the gun barrels. Here is the problem. It only works the moment the gun is point upwards. The moment it rotates the end of the gun barrels have moved ofcourse, thus the bullets don't spawn at the end of the gun battels, but at the place the where the gun barrels are when the turret is pointing upwards. How can I check where the end of the gun barrels are the moment it rotates? Thanks in Advance, Mark Dijkema PS.   I have a game which I deployed for desktop and android, I can read json data and create my levels, but the problem is, when it comes to reading json files from web app, I get an error that logs, cannot read the json file, I researched a lot and I found out that I should add my json config class to configurations, I added this line to gameName.gwt.xml, which is in core folder <extend-configuration-property name="gdx.reflect.include" value="com.las.get.level.LevelConfig"/> but it did not work out too, I have no idea where should I place this line, or where should I change to make my web app work, so I can read json files

• Is it possible to modify a video codec + distribute it?

  this is my first question on this particular stackexchange node, not sure if it's the most appropriate place for this question (if not, guidance to the appropriate node would be appreciated). the abstract: I'm interested in modifying existing video codecs and distributing my modded codecs in such a way as to make them easily added to a users codec library... for example to be added to their mpeg streamclip, ffmpeg etc. some details: I've had some experience modifying codecs by hacking ffmpeg source files and compiling my hacked code (so that for ex: my version of ffmpeg has a very different h.263 than yours). I'm interested now in taking these modified codecs and somehow making them easily distributable, so others could "add them" to their "libraries." Also, I realize there are some tricky rights/patent issues here, this is in part my motivation.   I have been working with Database Development and the aspects that come with it, the pain and the joy of moving from Dev to QA and then on to Production.  Source Control has a place in Dev, and that is where the baselines should be established. Where am I going with this? I have been working with Redgate’s Source Control 3.0, and I am seeing some features that are great for the process of moving from Dev to … well something that allows for quite a level of control.  We are not only talking about scripting the structure of a database, but creating a baseline, working with migration scripts, and integrated with Redgate’s Schema Compare.  There is a detailed paper that will be posted here in the next day or so to provide step by step information of the process to define your baseline in Dev and then take it to the desired destination. In the meantime, check the Webinars Redgate has regarding this process and products.

  Possible Duplicate: How could the first C++ compiler be written in C++? You probably heard that Microsoft released a new language called TypeScript which is a the typed superset of JavaScript. The most interesting thing that makes me wonder is the fact that its compiler writen in TypeScript itself. Call me ignorant but I really couldn't figure out in my head how that is possible. This is just like chicken and egg problem in my head because there is no compiler to compile TypeScript's compiler in the first place. How is it possible to write a compiler of the compiler of a programming language with that language?

Especially when commenting the else clause the comments always feel out-of-place for me. • proper model for a multi site rails app

  Hi Guys, I am not sure if this is correct place to ask this question. My apologies if it is not. I need to create a web app where people will sign up, call it main-app.com, when they sign up my code will generate a usersite.my-app.com, they will login and only be able to manage their mini site. My question is, is it correct to model this out by creating a table for site, a table for user, users belong to site and site has many users. Then I should create a content table that belongs to user AND site? is that right? Thanks Jeff

  I have a server that hosts mydomain.com. Then I have a server that hosts subdomain1.mydomain.com. On the subdomain1.mydomain.com server, how do I make subdomains? For instance I want to create subdomain2.subdomain1.mydomain.com I have my subdomain1.mydomain.com site in /home/USER/public_html and it is working just fine. But When I try to create subdomain2.subdomain1.mydomain.com, it says Server not found in the browser. I have tried so many configurations in my /etc/hosts and /etc/apache2/sites-available/subdomain2.subdomain1.mydomain.com, without any luck Can I get some detailed instructions maybe?   Is there some way when I'm in Ubuntu 12.10 that I can set it to reboot automatically to Windows just once, so that when I'm in Windows I can reboot and it will automatically boot back into Ubuntu? I need this because often when I travel I access my home computer for email and other personal info that I don't want to travel with or leave to the tender mercies of the "cloud". On rare occasions, I need to temporarily boot into Windows 7 to do something Windows-specific, but then I want to be able to boot back into Ubuntu because that's where most of my computing takes place. Our website servers are located in one place. We can't distribute our site to different locations. How can we create a local IP in each location to show our main server. so google will see us as local ip. Explanation: Google has decided to increase your PR if you have a local IP, they think that if you bought a server in a local market means that you are very serious about your business.   I need some ideas in order to finish algorithm. I'm randomly placing objects (bitmaps) on canvas without overlapping. Time needed to finish it is my problem. When I need to spawn for example 80% of canvas it takes to long. So i was thinking : I should make some change when the bitmaps take off 50 % of canvas. I want to tell algorithm that it should generate new locations (x,y) where it is free space. My question is : How to render new location (x,y) in place where is free space. In summary: Things I know : object location (x,y) 4 corners (x,y) of object object width, height canvas width, height Any suggestions?

• Handling (many) multiple projects in Git in an enterprise environment

  One of the advantages of older version control systems such as CVS and SVN in enterprise development is that anyone can connect to source control and see all the projects that the company has. This can make it easier to get a high level view of what kid of development is happening outside your sprint and also keeps everything in one place and easy to find. However, distributed version control systems (Git, specifically) use the repository as their base unit. They work best with one project (or several closely related projects) per repository. This makes repository management more difficult in most enterprise environments where it is not unusual to have more than 25-50 projects to support. As far as I have been able to determine, you have to keep a list somewhere else of all the repos you have. There is software available, like GitHub, that help, but that still is an extra step beyond a single connection string and listing the contents of the repository. What is the best way to deal with the complexity of multiple repositories?

  I am developing a game in AndEngine so far I managed to create everything I wanted for my sprite that was connected to a BoxBody. I was rotating it moving it everything was great. I wanted my collision detection to be more precise so I changed from boxBody to unique irregular shaped body. I found all the vertices and I just replaced the newly created irregular shaped body with the boxbody everywhere in my code. Not only that the image of the sprite is not in place but all the physics and maths I was doing for movement and physics wont work. Please help me :(. Thanks in advance.

• Wordpress Multisite (Subfolders) - Google Analytics Tracking

  I have a Wordpress multisite subfolder instance that I would like to track via Google Analytics. I guess optimally this would be a plugin which I could track each site in two places The Main Tracking Code which totals all traffic from the Multisite instance The Individual Site tracking code to see how each site specifically is doing. I think this plugin would have worked for me if I had a subdomain multisite instance: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-analytics-multisite-async/installation/ I know I can manually place the dual tracking code (http://www.markinns.com/articles/full/adding_two_google_analytics_accounts_to_one_page) but that would involve editing a theme and I have multiple sites using TwentyEleven template. I don't think I can edit the theme and not have it wreak havoc on the rest of the sites using TwentyEleven. So has anyone done this? Is there a a technique I'm missing? Is there a plugin available to do this in Multisite Subfolder installations? Is there a way to manually insert GA codes into themes which are used by multiple sites? Any insight is appreciated.

  Not sure if here it's the right place to ask, if not - please point me to the right direction. Let's say there's a package, for the sake of real-world example - bind9. In Precise and in Quantal it's version 9.8.1. The original developer (ISC) currently provide versions 9.8.4 which is a bugfix release in the 9.8 line, and 9.9.2 which is a "new features" branch. It looks like when a security issue is encountered, the specific bugfix is backported into 9.8.1. Now the question: Why maintainers don't just update to the latest bugfix release ? Why to backport only certain patches ? Is it intentionally or just there's no maintaner who would take the effort to update to the latest bugfix release ?

  From the perspective of a developer what do you consider to be the most important environmental factors or work place perks/policies that contribute to increase productivity? For example, my top four includes the following: No internet restrictions - Because honestly ever few hours I need a 15 min deload, which usually involves checking my gmail account and or browsing a few choice site. Personal office with a door - for obvious reasons Dual monitors - do people really develop software with one monitor still? Flexible hours - This could be interpreted in different ways, but basically I really appreciate that fact that I can roll into work at 7am, 11am or whenever and the time police aren't on my back. It is just understood that I will put in my 8 hours or more if needed and get my job done however that works out.
