  I occur a problem when develop a application on android. There have two image which can be download from server in a list item, it will show one image and will show another image when user select or click this item . if I try to download another image from server when user click it,the user will never have time to see it, for this time is shorter than download image form server, so i want to download two of them,and when I click it again,the app can invoke another image from local. but I do not know how to invoke this image ? Any suggestion will be appreciate. thx

  My current App is written in Python on GAE which can do Contacts management, Genealogy, Social Networking, Photo sharing, Telecom Integration (SMS, iVRS, URL Billing), CRON and performs business logic operations for our Mobile Apps. Current Architecture indlues python, django, jquery, memcache and few telecom APIs. Now, It feels that an SOA Architecture on GAE using Java would be really ideal and scalable for this kind of App where we want to build new features like widgets that users can turn on or off and third party developers can also develop and deploy features. Please correct me or improve the following design decision: UI (Current plan is GWT) Sessions, Security and ACL (Spring MVC 2.x) Reusable Business Logic components (?) Implementation of Web Services (?) Your advice would really help.

  Hi, all. I have application with 2 groups of models - content based (news, questions) and "something" based (devices, applications etc). I need to link all models between groups - for example question may belongs to 3 different things - one application and 2 devices. The same - for news. From other side - i need to see all news articles and questions related to some application or device. Any idea how to develop this in rails? I have only one idea - mixins that will add methods content_id and thing_id to models and join table.

  Hello, I'm thinking about using hadoop to process large text files on my existing windows 2003 servers (about 10 quad core machines with 16gb of RAM) The questions are: Is there any good tutorial on how to configure an hadoop cluster on windows? What are the requirements? java + cygwin + sshd ? Anything else? HDFS, does it play nice on windows? I'd like to use hadoop in streaming mode. Any advice, tool or trick to develop my own mapper / reducers in c#? What do you use for submitting and monitoring the jobs? Thanks

  I would like to allow my users to submit a subset of xhtml that will be displayed to other users (likely I'll build a schema for it) but I want the server to handle validation more gracefully then hard rejecting invalid submissions.... Instead I'd like the server to Html Encode invalid/harmful parts of the submissions.... (sanitize javascript and css etc.) Is there any library (maybe asp.net mvc 2 has such functionality?) or do I have to develop my own? or maybe there is a javascript library that html encodes invalid parts and I can just have the server only accept that subset?

  My company took some old php application over. Due to our preference to ASP.net and to the lack of any documentation from the previous developer, we do not want to spend much resources on developing in PHP. For implementing new features, we will create an Asp.net application that has the same look to the user. We want to develop a kind of 'coexisting' web application. Therefore we must share sessions between an PHP and an Asp.net webapplication project, because there is a usermanagement involved with an existing MySQL database. (e.g. link 'A' directs to the PHP website, and link 'B' directs to the asp.net application) How can we share the session between and PHP and an asp.net application? And does anyone have a hint for this 'coexisting' thing, that might be useful in development? Edit: IIS 6 would be our targeted server, altough IIS 7.5 would also be an option

I want to develop an authentication scheme which is based on biometrics, Every human being have a unique key-hold time,digraph time error rate. Key-Hold Time : Time difference between pressing and releasing a key . Digraph Time : Time difference between releasing one and pressing next one. Error Rate : No of times backspace is pressed. I got these metrics from a paper "Keystroke-based User Identification on Smart Phones" by Saira Zahid1, Muhammad Shahzad1, Syed Ali Khayam1,2, Muddassar Farooq1. I was planning to get the datasets to test my algorithm from openmoko phone, but the phone is mis-behaving and I am finding trouble in generating these time data-sets.   I have to create a pdf report using apache itext api and report should be zipped .For example there is a report to be generated for people staying in a location of a state. for each state there are many locations, for each location , details of eachh people under the location should be saved as pdf (for each people) finally all the pdf for a location should be zipped ,this way finally all zip files for all locations should be zipped and placed under the zip file for states . my question is how best we can develop code in java. i want a skeleton framework to do the above functionality . i thought of using recursion method.also let me know from experienced users of zip api, will there be any error during creation of many zip files.

  So I am using Limonade PHP which has a RESTful design which emulates PUT, POST, DELETE routes for create, update, delete. I am trying to develop some form validation which is going well. The major problem I am facing though is how to return my filtered data (which has failed validation) back to repopulate the create or edit form. How would this be done? I currently have for creating a page: /admin/page/new -> GET function /admin/page -> POST function + validate + pass, update db + fail, add errors to flash, redirect to /admin/page/mew It all falls down as I do not know how to populate the /admin/page/new with the invalid, but filtered data.

  We have an ASP.Net MVC 1.0 solution developed using Visual Studio 2008 and .net Framework 3.5SP1. We would now like to upgrade Visual Studio to 2010. If we just open the solution in VS 2010 and do not change the framework version, can we just continue to develop as before? If we open the solution in VS 2010 and change the framework version to 4.0, will we automatically start using ASP.Net MVC 2.0, or will it continue to use ASP.Net MVC 1.0? Is there anything we need to take into consideration when upgrading to ASP.Net MVC 2.0? Thanks Shiraz

  Hello, I want to develop some crosstab also know as pivot reports in Asp.net with x-axis and y-axis being dynamics, allowing grouping by row and column, for example: have products in y-axis and date in x-axis having in body number of sells of a given product in a given date, if date in x-axis are years, i want subtotals for each month for a product (row) and subtotals of sells of all products in date (column) I know there are products available to build reports, but i am using Mysql, so Reporting Service is not an option. It's not necessary for the client build additional reports, i think the simplest solution is having a control to display such information and not using crystal report (which is not free) or something more complex, i want to know if is there an available free control to reach my goal. Well, does anybody know a control or have a different idea, thanks in advance.

• Compiling .NET component that uses a non specific required version of a 3rd Party Vendor component

  If someone were to develop a .NET component that relied on non specific versions of a vendor DLL - let's say it worked with My3rdPartyComponent.dll which is a .NET assembly, but it didn't matter which version. Some instances of classes found in this component would need to be passed into my component. Developers would reference my component dll but not have access to the source code. Basically, I want to be able to require the user to pass in an instance of 3rdPartyComponent.MyClass to my component functions but I do not care if it's version 1.1, 2.2, 2.23.980, etc of the 3rd party dll. Is there a way to do this while still typing the parameter I want to be passed in to my component? I don't want to use Object as the reference. In my component project I could specify SpecificVersion=True on the assembly reference. Will this solve my problem or will there be other 'dll hell' issues to deal with that I am not seeing?

However, after searching all over net, all that I could find was the "Bluetooth Device Access Guide" from apple, and not a single sample program ! Is any sample code for this available ? I will also explain what I am trying to do in my program, so that if any of you can help me.... I want pair my iPhone with my MAC programmatically over the PAN profile, and then send data (streams) both-ways. I paired them manually, and I was successfully able to transfer data. • Wordpress + VMware CSS path problem

  I posted a similar question earlier today but this question is clearer. I want to locally develop my Wordpress websites (on my Mac) and test them in Internet Explorer (6,7,8) on Windows XP. I can get the MAMP welcome screen to show in Windows XP, so I know VMWare is doing it's thing. The local URL for my site (on my Mac) is: URL (http://d3creative:8888/) But the local URL under VMware/Internet Explorer is: URL (http://192.168.2.1:8888/d3creative/) This is the only way I can get it to show up, problem is all the CSS styles are referencing the local Mac URL (http://d3creative:8888/) So understandably the CSS isn't showing up. Is there a way to tell Windows that "http://192.168.2.1:8888/d3creative/" should equal "http://d3creative:8888/" I've tried editing the "hosts" file within in Windows XP and I've rebooted after making any changes, but nothing is working. My software: MAMP Pro (v1.8.2) Wordpress (v2.8.6) Windows XP (SP3) Internet Explorer (6, 7, 8) Any help would be much appreciated. Stephen Meehan

  I currently work for a company that uses Kayako for their support system. They sell an extra program called Insta Alert that plays a sound when a new ticket is submitted. I use WHMCS for my own company, and would like to develop something to work with it that does the same thing. Here is the WHMCS API... http://wiki.whmcs.com/API:Functions I am wondering if it would make more sense from a remote C++ application to use the API or just check the MySQL database for new tickets?   Hi, i have a question, after allot of hours in googling and reading articles, i understood that namespace extenssion in windows is quite tricky (In C++ at least), now i've also seen its possible to do so in C# , but microsft does'nt officaly confirms using .net for namespace extensions... though i have seen very nice commercial Namespace Extenssion framework , but none is free.... so to my question :) , i want to develop my own Namespace Extenssion ,i have C++/C# knwoledge and basic COM/ATL , but if it can be done i prefer c#, so does c# inteop can fully do the work without too many tricks ? or one shall go diving in the ATL to create the neccessary COM objects... and another question , can i program to Windows O/S with C# anything that can be done in C++/ATL/MFC ? thanks!

• asp:Menu Not working on webhost

  I'm using Visual Studio Web Express 2008 to develop an ASP.Net website. I have a master page that every page inherits from and on that master page I have the asp:menu control. On my local machine the menu control works just fine. The javascript is emitted and the links work as well. However, when I upload it to my webhost service provider, the javascript is not emitted and my links do not work. I'm getting a feeling that my service provider really doesn't know much about .Net as they suggested that I make sure that I upload the .js files which isn't necessary. Does anyone have any suggestions that I can give them? They're asking me what requirements are needed. It seems to me that something is not setup on their server properly but according to them, they have .Net 3.5 SP1 installed.

  Hello, I have a trading software that gets data from the internet. I want to capture that tick data. There is one software that has been made by a local develop which is able to do that and it looks like it uses DDE (NDde.dll, NetSQL.dll). I want to write a custom application that does the same. Any pointers how I can check how the data is being streamed and how to capture that data. I don't think it is encrypted, since the other developer would not have been able to decrypt either. I just need to scan how the software is getting the data. Thank you.

  I want to develop a programming tool for developers which can do automatic xml code generation for specifying a GUI design and its controls. The aim is to allow non-programmers specify GUI controls(which in this case perform higher level task unlike WinForms ) from a GUI. So the xml code generated is essentially an internal representation which programmers can understand and further use in any automatic GUI generator. So the workflow is GUI(non-programmers)-xml(for programmers)-GUI(non-programmers). Is there a Microsoft project similar to this?
