  In Visual Studio 2010 you can drag tabs out to separate windows but you can not collect them together as additional tabbed elements. Is there a VS 2010 add-on to allow you to group your extra windows into tabs? It would be really nice to have a set of tabs on each of my monitors.

  Hi, does Android have a "best practices" guideline on creating & populating the db/tables programmatically vs. deploying a .db file in assets? What are the pros/cons of both approaches? I have a db with big long strings in several columns, and about 50 rows, so writing the insert statements alone would take quite some space. It seems a waste. Thoughts? Thanks! llappall

  My question is: since Visual Studio 2010 was only just released, why does it not render pages in the same way as the latest Microsoft web browser, IE8?   Is it possible to store the credentials that I use to connect to my Team Foundation Server directly in Visual Studio 2010? I would like to avoid to insert them at every VS launch. The problem is that the machine that host TFS is not in the domain and I am conneting using the credentials of a user created on that machine. Suppose that the machine name is TOOLS and the user is Marco, I need to insert every time User name: TOOLS\Marco Password: * Can you suggest a possible fix, if exists?

Is not it the same as with OOP and relational databases? Often services are supported through code generation, apart from boilerplate, I think it is because we new SOM - service object mapper. So again, what are the reasons for wervices rather than objects?

  I have a web service file in my project having a web method which is used for AutoCompleteExtender and which works fine when I debug it from VS. But when I publish and host it on IIS, it's not working properly. However, I tested the webservice method directly by typing the URL and it gave the desired output. Is their a special setting needs to be done in IIS to make it working or any property of AutoCompleteExtender need to be set?

The process cannot access the file 'bin\Debug\Project1.exe' because it is being used by another process.), so I have to close the process from the task manager. my project is only one form and there is no multithreading. what is the solution (without restarting VS or Killing the process)?

  I have VS2010 Premium RTM version on Windows 7 Ultimate x64. In the documentation they refer to the Memory 1-4 windows, supposedly under Debug-Windows-Memory. I have "Enable address-level debugging" enabled in VS (Options-Debugging). The problem is that I have no Memory menu item under Debug-Windows during debug of a c++ program. Under Debug-Windows I have only: Breakpoints Parallel Tasks Parallel Stacks Watch - Locals Call Stack Threads Have anyone else experienced this (and hopefully solved it)?

  I've thrown together some code to tinker with the new .Net 4.0/VS 2010 pieces, but I can't seem to find a build of my logging framework of choice (log4net) for 4.0, and I'm getting reference errors with the 2.0 version. Is there a 4.0 version available somewhere? I'm not asking for new features, just a version that's already been rebuilt against the new assemblies. Anyone know where I can find a build of 1.2.10 built for the 4.0 framework?

  Has anyone found/made any decent color themes for Visual Studio 2010? My VS 2005/2008 themes seem to be getting mangled in the upgrade process.
