• SSRS 2005 Keep textbox and textfield together when page break occurs

  Problem I don't have a details row or anything. I have simply a body and I dragged on textboxes for labeling textfields from my dataset. The problem is when one of the fields has too much data for the current page, it "page-breaks" at the start of the field leaving the textbox (label for the field) behind on the previous page. What I've tried Put the data field and the textbox label a) inside a rectangle - didn't work b) inside a list and the list inside a rectangle - didn't work c) inside a list with keep together property set to TRUE or FALSE - didn't work Question How would I group the textbox and the textfield so that regardless of where the pagebreak happens it includes its label?

• Wrong intrepretation of some columns in ireport

  Hi, I got a strange problem. I am using iReport 3.7.1 tool to create some reports. The Query Editor has one query. It shows all the data types of the fields in that query exactly same as the data types shown when I execute it using SQLYOG editor. The problem is here: One field data type is mismatched. I don't know the reason. SQLYOG says it is INTEGER whereas iReport Query Editor says its a long value. BTW The value that assigned to that filed is zero. Can anyone help ? I want to zero-in on this issue.

  Using jQuery's .find() method to return a set of elements, I am trying to access items in the returned set by their order in that set. For example, a table with two rows and in each row a select box and two text input fields, accessed with the following: $('table#tbl').find('tr.row').each(function(i) { }); To get the first element I would have thought I could use $('table#tbl').find('tr.row').each(function(i) { alert( $(this).find(':input').get(1).val() ); }); And variations of the above, but apparently this doesn't work. Could anyone suggest the correct method to access item x of n elements returned?

  Hi all, I'm a very young software architect. Now I'm working in a very large and I have to lead a group of developers to rewrite all the mortgage system of the bank. I'm looking at database tables and I realize that there is no any data model, neither documentation. The worst part is that there are about 1000 tables in dev environment, and like 600 in production. I trust more the production environment, but anyway, what can I do? I mean, I can suicide me or something, but is there any good reverse engineering tool, so at least I could get the schema definition with the relations between tables and comments extracted from the fields? • How can I catch a change event from an HTML text field when a user clicks on a link after editing?

  Our webapp has a form with fields and values that change depending on values entered. Each time there is a change event on one of the form elements, we use an expensive AJAX call to update other elements on the page. This works great for selects, radio buttons and checkboxes. The issue comes in when a user adds content to a text field, and then clicks a link without taking the focus from the text field. The browser moves to a new page, and the contents of the text field are never saved. Is there an easy way to code around this? The AJAX call is too expensive to call with each key press. • improve my jquery validation plugin code

  Hi All Just hoping soemone can help me to write better code than I can come up with on my own. I am using the jquery validation plugin. I have some fields that are mandatory ONLY if certain options are chosen. The below code works fine. But the thing is, is that that my list of 'OR's is much longer than I've put here. and it needs to be applied not just to 'directorsName' but a whole long list of inputs, selects etc. My question is.. how can I wrap up the code contained inside the RETURN? (so I dont have to keep repeating my 'OR's. • Why input elements don't render the value passed in ASP.Net MVC?

  This post asks this question but doesn't really give an answer, so I thought I would ask the question differently. I have a page that renders a hidden value from the model: <%=Html.Hidden("myName", model.myValue) %> Since I am passing a value in the value parameter, you would think it would output that value, but it doesn't. The code for rendering input fields has the following: string attemptedValue = (string)htmlHelper.GetModelStateValue(name, typeof(string)); tagBuilder.MergeAttribute("value", attemptedValue ?? ((useViewData) ? htmlHelper.EvalString(name) : valueParameter), isExplicitValue); Basically, if the ModelState (which contains posted values) contains a value for the "name" passed, it will use that value instead of your passed value to the helper method. In my case, I updated the model and my updated value wasn't outputted. If I pass a value to a method, I expect that value to be rendered. Am I missing something in this design or is it just wrong?

My problem is that I cannot copy and paste from one property entry to another, and I cannot type in the fields manually as well.   I have a Bash script that is working on my OpenSuSE box, but when copied across to my Ubuntu box, is not working. The script reads in from a file. • What experience is the most valued in a programmer?

  I've been coding application level software for a while now. I've had some experience with internet (server/client based) applications, but that has been fairly scant. The field doesn't scare although I know that experience can be almost be measured in gold. I see myself as a highly qualified and experienced programmer, but I also see my short comings in these fields. Does this count against me (and others like me?) and would this cut anyone from obtaining the shortlist or are there other factors which bear more weight?

  Hi, I would like to sort elements in a comma-separated list. The elements in the list are structs and I would like the list to be sorted according to one of the fields in the struct. For example, given the following code: L = {struct('obs', [1 2 3 4], 'n', 4), struct('obs', [6 7 5 3], 'n', 2)}; I would want to have a way to sort L by the field 'n'. Matlab's sort function only works on matrices or arrays and on lists of strings (not even lists of numbers). Any ideas on how that may be achieved? Thanks, Micha

• Controlling a browser from Python

  I am looking for a way to control a browser from Python, i.e. fill out form fields and submit them, possibly call JS functions. I've looked around a bit, but as far as I could see PyWebKitGtk only lets you show the browser as a GUI element, not interface with it. Is there a way to do this easily? I wrote my program logic in Python, and I would hate to port it to JS. Besides that, even if I'd use pure JS "bookmarklets", those wouldn't be able to read/write to my local filesystem, would they? P.S. to quell your suspicions, I'm not trying to automatically fill out forum account creation forms or something similarly spammious, though the task is technically similar. I need to crawl/scrape sites for my research project.

  Hello, I have an app using raw_id on both ForeignKeyField and ManyToManyField. The admin displays the value of the foreign key on the right of the edit box. Unfortunatey, it doesn't work with ManyToMany. I've checked the code and I think that it is the normal behavior. However I would like to know if someone has an easy tip to change this behavior? Thanks in advance Update: I've tried to subclass the ManyToManyRawIdWidget but I don't know how to say that the raw_id_fields should use my custom widget. formfield_overrides doesn't seem to work with raw_id fields

  i have a table with 6 fields. the columns are ID, new_id price,title,Img,Active. I have datawhich is duplicated for the price column. Using the following grep command, I am able to extract all the lines which have a valid 'DisplayName' field grep DisplayName="[0-9A-Za-z[:space:]]*" e:\test However, I wish to extract just the name (ie "john") from each line instead of the whole line which is returned by grep. I tried pipelining the output to the cut command but it does not accept string delimiters.

  I have a user table 'users' that has fields like: id first_name last_name ... and have another table that determines relationships: user_id friend_id user_accepted friend_accepted .... I would like to generate a query that selects all the users but also add another field/column say 'network_status' that depends on the values of user_accepted and fiend_accepted. For example, if user_accepted is true friend_accepted is false I want the 'network_status' field to say 'request sent'. Can I possibly do this in one query? (I would prefer not to user if/else inside the query but if that's the only way so be it)

• View changes nvarchars to varchars in SQL Server 2008

  I have a view in a SQL Server 2008 db that simply exposes about 20 fields of one table to be consumed via ODBC to a client. When I tried to replicate this view in another database, the client could not consume the data source. Then I noticed some weirdness. The columns in the view are shown, in SQL Server Management Studio, to be varchar(100), while the columns in the table are defined as nvarchar(100). There are no CAST or CONVERT statements in the view, it is a simple SELECT statement. Example: Table - Columns: Desc1 (nvarchar(100), null) View - SELECT TOP 100 PERCENT Desc1 FROM... Columns: Desc1 (varchar(100), null) Any ideas why the columns are defined as varchar in the view instead of nvarchar?

• Insert error when sending post array to activerecord

  I am using CodeIgniter + phpActiveRecord. I am getting all the records from the $_POST array and I want to send that same array to my activeRecord class to insert the data into the DB.
