• Excel export displaying '#####...'

  I'm trying to export an Excel database into .txt (Tab Delimited), but some of my cells are quite large. When I export into a txt some of the cells are exported as '#######....' which is surprisingly useless. Has this happened to anyone else? Do you know an easy fix?   Hello, I'm trying to make a small application or demo thats a tab bar application. Each bar item loads in a new view. I've created a quartzView class that is called on by the controller: - (void)viewDidLoad { quartzView *drawingView = [[quartzView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,0,320,480)]; [self.view addSubview:drawingView]; [super viewDidLoad]; } From my understanding, the drawRect method must be triggered in order to render the object and to draw it. • emacs frustration with web development any working dot-files?

  I really liked flexibility of emacs but it is really annoying to make it work. I want to use it for web development html, css, javascript, php. I first tried emacs-starter-kit . It didn't included nXhtml. Also C-g key binding does not work (they call it starter kit but basic key command does not work). I think it is mapped for git control. That's a frustration for a beginner. Then I replaced emacs-starter-kit with nXhtml. At least C-g is working. But code completion sucks, M-tab does not work. I tried code completion from nXhtml menu with no success. Also NXhtml mode did'nt colorized my file if css is mixed with html. Isn't it recommended for mixed html, css,php files. So why it doesnt work?. Why Emacs folks do not aware of convention over configuration? Dam! ship it something works! Please help me before I am getting crazy. I use Ubuntu 10.04 and emacs-snaphot-gtk 23.1.50-1. Please guide me step by step with your working dotfile url. Even I accept I am a dummy, it is really annoying and frustrating to use emacs.

• what's the alternative to readonlycollection when using lazy="extra"?

  I am trying to use lazy="extra" for the child collection of Trades I have on my Client object. The trades is an Iset<Trade Trades, exposed as ReadOnlyCollection<Trade because I do not want anyone to modify the collection directly. As a result, I have added AddTrade and RemoveTrade methods. Now I have a Client Search page where I need to show the Trade Count. and on the Client details page I have a tab where I need to show all the trades for the Client in paged gridview. What I want to achieve is, for the search when I say on the client object as client.Trades.Count, nHibernate should only fire a select count(*) query. Hence I am using lazy="extra". But because I am using a ReadOnlyCollection, nHibernate fires a count query & a separate query to load the child collection trades completely. Also, I cannot include the Trades in my initial search request as this would disturb the paging because a counterparty can have n trades which would result in n rows, when I am searching clients only. So the child collections have to be loaded lazily. The second problem is that on the client details page -- Trades grid view, I have enabled paging for performance reasons. But by nature nHibernate loads the entire collection of trades as the user goes from one page to another. Ideally I want to control this by getting only trades specific to the page the user is on. How can I achieve this? I came across this very good article. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/876976/implementing-ipagedlistt-on-my-models-using-nhibernate But I am not sure if this will work for me, as lazy=extra currently doesnt work as expected with the ReadOnlyCollection. So, if I went ahead and implemented the solution this way and further enhanced it by making the List/Set Immutable, will lazy=extra give me the same problem as with ReadOnlyCollections?

  I'm starting to get my feet wet in the latest Google Web Toolkit using the Eclipse plugin on OS X 10.5.8. So far I've been able to get the client up and running, which is great. The server, though, is a different matter. I'm trying to link to a .jar file that has some classes I want to use in a server ServiceImpl class, but it seems to have glommed onto a previous iteration of the .jar - I've added a method, rebuilt the jar, removed the jar from the libraries tab on the GWT project's build path (as well as on the exports) and reincluded the jar. • Getting Android SDK WebView and TabWidget to play nice

  I’m taking the HelloTabWidget Android example and trying two things: Moving the tabs to the bottom vs. the top (if that’s even desirable from an Android UI POV) Making each tab show a particular WebView in the space above I’ve got this for a layout (high level): <TabHost> <LinearLayout> <FrameLayout> <WebView/> <WebView/> <WebView/> <WebView/> <WebView/> </FrameLayout> <TabWidget/> </LinearLayout> </TabHost> Everything has a width/height set to fill_parent except for the TabWidget which has its layout_height set to wrap_content (and the layout_gravity set to bottom). First thing I noticed is that WebViews don’t show anything until all the parents have width/height set to fill_parent. However, once I do that, they fill the entire display, obscuring the TabWidget. Is there some other trick to making these two views play nicely together?

• Why does ICEfaces send dispose-window request on page unload when using view-scoped bean?

  in our application ICEfaces always sends a dispose-window request just before navigating to another JSF Page. as much as i understand this should not happen when having org.icefaces.lazyWindowScope set to true and there is no window-scoped bean involved in current request. but it happens on each link and makes our UI less responsive. but we don't have any window-scoped bean in our application. is that a bug in icefaces that the dispose request is sent when using view-scoped beans? Is it possible to disable? • Strange UIKit bug, table view row stays selected

  I'm facing what appears to be a UIKit bug, and it takes the combination of two less commonly used features to reproduce it, so please bear with me here. I have quite the common view hierarchy: UITabBarController -> UINavigationController -> UITableViewController and the table view controller pushes another table view controller onto the navigation controller's stack when a row is selected. There's absolutely nothing special or fancy in the code here. However, the second UITableViewController, the "detail view controller" if you will, does two things: It sets hidesBottomBarWhenPushed to YES in its init method, so the tab bar is hidden when this controller is pushed: - (id)initWithStyle:(UITableViewStyle)style { if(self = [super initWithStyle:style]) { self.hidesBottomBarWhenPushed = YES; } return self; } It calls setToolbarHidden:NO animated:YES and setToolbarHidden:YES animated:YES on self.navigationController in viewWillAppear: and viewWillDisappear: respectively, causing the UIToolbar provided by UINavigationController to be displayed and hidden with animations: - (void)viewWillAppear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillAppear:animated]; [self.navigationController setToolbarHidden:NO animated:YES]; } - (void)viewWillDisappear:(BOOL)animated { [super viewWillDisappear:animated]; [self.navigationController setToolbarHidden:YES animated:YES]; } Now, if the second UITableViewController was pushed by selecting the row at the bottom of the screen (it doesn't have to be the last row) in the first controller, this row does not automatically get deselected when the user immediately or eventually returns to the first controller. Further, the row cannot be deselected by calling deselectRowAtIndexPath:animated: on self.tableView in viewWillAppear: or viewDidAppear: in the first controller. I'm guessing this is a bug in UITableViewController's drawing code which of course only draws visible rows, but unfortunately fails to determine correctly if the bottommost row will be visible in this case. I failed to find anything on this on Google or OpenRadar, and was wondering if anyone else on SO had this problem or knew a solution/workaround.

• Cocoa Bindings and Application Preferences - Crash

  Using the document provided by Apple to create an application preferences window that doesn't require any extra code, I seem to have triggered a crash that cannot be traced by me. While the stuff from Apple is older, I believe I have the settings pretty much the same as shown here: When I run my application (Hcode) and go to the preferences menu item, it brings up the proper window with the defaults I specified in the bindings with the exception of the Spaces per tab is blank (no idea how to fix this). • How to deploy a WPF 4 Full Trust XBAP an on intranet?

  I'm having trouble running a full trust WPF 4 XBAP (browser application), created with Visual Studio 2010, from my intranet. I do not get a ClickOnce elevation prompt, as described in ScottGu's post on WPF 4: Full Trust XBAP Deployment Starting in WPF 4, the ClickOnce elevation prompt is also enabled for XAML Browser Applications (XBAPs) in Intranet and Trusted Zones, making it easier to deploy full-trust XBAPs. For XBAPs that require security permissions greater than the minimum code access security (CAS) permission grantset of the Intranet and Trusted Zones, the user will be able to click 'Run' on the ClickOnce elevation prompt when they navigate to the XBAP to allow the XBAP to run with the requested permissions. Instead, I get the "Trust Not Granted" message. I'm running the application in two ways; in both cases, I get the "Trust Not Granted" message. First, I'm launching the application by double-clicking on the xbap file from my NAS on the local network. Secondly, I'm also trying to launch the application when it is hosted on a website via IIS from the same machine. Are both of these scenarios considered to be run from an "intranet?" Or does "intranet" mean some in particular here? Or am I doing something completely wrong? Of note, I am able to launch the application without problem when I simply double-click the xbap from my local computer. The xbap in question was created specifically to test the ClickOnce elevation prompt. It was created with Visual Studio 2010 as a WPF Browser Application. The only change I made was to change this to a full trust application (My Project Security tab This is a full trust application). In the publish wizard, I am choosing the following: Where do you want to publish the application? - I chose to publish to a local directory How will user install the application? - I chose "From a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM" Will the application be available offline - All choices were grayed out

• How to publish an ASP.NET MVC website

  Hello -- I've a site that I'd like to publish to a co-located live server. I'm finding this simple task quite hard. My problems begin with the Web Deploy tool (1.1) giving me a 401 Unauthorized as the adminstrator because port :8172 comes up in the errors and this port is blocked - but the documentation says "The default ListenURL is http://+:80/MsDeployAgentService"! I'm loathe to open another port and I've little patience these days so I thought bu66er it, I'll create a Web Deploy package and import it into IIS on the server over RDP. I notice first that Visual Studio doesn't use a dialog box to gather settings, or use my Publish profiles but seems to use a tab in the project properties, although I think these are ignored when importing the package anyway? I'm now sitting in the import wizard with Application Path and Connection String. I've cleared the conn string as I think this is for some ASP stuff I don't use but when I enter nothing in the Application Path, the wizard barks at me saying that basically I'm a weirdo because most people publish to folders beneath the root site. Now, I want my site to be site.com/Home/About and not site.com/subfolder/Home/About and I think being an MVC routed site that a subfolder will introduce other headaches. Should I go ahead and use the root? Finally, I also want to publish a web service to www.site.com/services/soap which I think IIS can handle. While typing this question, Amazon have delivered my IIS 7 Resource Kit, and I've been scouring the internet but actually I'm getting more confused.   Hello good people of stackoverflow. I have a LaTeX question that is bugging me. I have been trying to get a list environment to appear correctly inside the tabular environment. So far I have gotten everything to my liking except one thing: the top of the list does not align with other entries in the table, in fact it looks like it adds one line above the list... I would like to have these lists at the top. • Theoretically basic RDLC question

  I'm trying to do something that I thought ought to be reasonably simple but I keep failing... Maybe I just need more coffee, but I thoguht i see if anyone else has solved the problem already. I've got a report, it contains a pile off rows. I want the row to show up grouped by one column called office. I want the groups of offices sorted by their column region. I want the rows within the office group sorted by column name. so it'd show up like this Region1 Agency a a b c Agency b a b Region 2 Agency a1 a b c etc... I can get the grouping, I can get the groups sorted by region. but I can't get the contents of the group to be sorted by name. my curret guess was Group by Office then in the sort tab, sort by region, then office, then name. no joy. Any help is appreciated. if it's relavant I'm using c# and vs2008. Thanks, E-

  Here's what I need to do. I'm using Google Chrome. Once I see the link I'm waiting for, I immediately click the link. That's fine. But I want more. What I want is the page will auto-reload and I want it to auto-detect the the link I'm waiting for. Once the script finds the link I'm waiting for, it automatically loads that link on a new tab or page. For example, I'm auto-reloading www.example.com. I'm waiting for a specific url "BUY NOW". When the page auto-reloads, it checks if there's a url "BUY NOW". If it sees one, it should automatically open that link. Thanks.

• How to set "Run this program as an administrator" programatically.

  I'm having a problem with good ol' bdeadmin.exe in Vista. First, let's get the predictable responses out of the way: "You should not require your application to be elevated." This one does. C'est la vie. "You need to embed a manifest file." It is already compiled, it is many years old, the company that created it has no intention of doing it again, and it is installed from a Merge Module (MSM file). "BDE is obsolete, you should be using dbExpress" One and a half million lines of code. 'Nuff said. "Drop a manifest file next to the EXE." Tried that, did nothing. As a test, that same manifest file was able to make several other EXE files require elevation, just not the one I wanted. Something in there is preventing the external manifest from being read. "Create a shortcut and set SLDF_RUNAS_USER." Can't do that, it's a Control Panel applet. The only thing that worked was setting "Run this program as an administrator" under the Compatibility tab of its Properties window. I shouldn't have to tell users to do this. Bad for business. I need to have the installer do this. The MSM file uses a static path. Any ideas?

• Android crashes when calling ImageButton

  My application at mysubdomain.mydomain.com needs to set a cookie that contains some user session information. They log in at a https page. We authenticate them and set some session info in a cookie. We do this in a helper library that takes in the controller context contextBase.Response.Cookies[CookiePayload.CookieName].Value = encryptedTicket; contextBase.Response.Cookies[CookiePayload.CookieName].Expires = cookieExpires; contextBase.Response.Cookies[CookiePayload.CookieName].Domain= ConfigHelper.CookieDomain; contextBase.Response.Cookies[CookiePayload.CookieName].HttpOnly=true; We do a quick redirect in the controller (to a non https page): this.ControllerContext.HttpContext.Response.Redirect(redirectTo, false); return null; The cookie appears in the response (according to firebug's net tab). But neither fireforx nor ie send the cookie on subsequent gets. We are setting the cookie domain to mydomain.com even though the site is mysubdomain.mydomain.com. Skipping the redirect command has no effect, nor does changing the cookie value. I'm baffled. Thanks for any suggestions.

  I am looking for an equivalent in Chrome to the "break on all errors" functionality of Firebug. In the Scripts tab, Chrome has a "pause on all exceptions", but this is not quite the same as breaking on all errors. For instance, when loading a page with the following code, I would like Chrome to break on the line foo.bar = 42. I tried following every step in the instructions located here: - http://github.com/gabriel/gh-unit/blob/master/README.md And step 2 of these instructions confused me: - In the Target 'Tests' Info window, General tab: Add a linked library, under Mac OS X 10.5 SDK section, select GHUnit.framework Add a linked library, select your project. Add a direct dependency, and select your project. (This will cause your application or framework to build before the test target.) How am I supposed to add my project to the linked library list when all it accepts it .dylib, .framework and .o files. I'm confused! Thanks for any help that is received.

• iphone cannot rotate views in TabBar controller

  Hello, I am working on an application that consists of a TabBar controller. Within on of its tab, I have a subclass of UITableViewController, within this list I have a Core-plot graph in the first cell and some other data in the 4 following cells. When I return YES in the shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation method, I would expect the autoresizing of the list view to happen, but... nothing. When I add some log in the willRotateToInterfaceOrientation method, they are not displayed. Is there something I missed ?
