  • How to clear browser's cache from server side?

    I have to create a web application that deals with user's sensitive information. I need to immediately clear the browser's cache after user logs out since cached data would be vulnerable. Client's browser should be enforced to clear the Cache from server side. Also all cache policies must be exposed to the client from the server side. Is there any solution to this problem?

    Hi, Is there a way to animate a browser window using jquery. Right now I'm essentially using this: $(window).animate({ left: '+=50' }, 5000}); The reason why it isn't working is probably obvious, although not for me. I eventually need to loop an animate effect so that the browser will move back and forth dynamically. Thanks.

  • Problems with registering click event listener to a frame-element

    Hi everybody, I ran into a problem with adding an event listener. I wrote a Firefox plugin a while ago for my bachelor thesis. It was based on a different attacker model than you would normally expect. In this scenario the attacker was the service provider (like Facebook, Google,...), who reads all your private data stored on their site (via JS). My final solution was to temporally allow JS (while the page loads and after an user action occured). To observe the interaction I used event listener, which worked very well so far. But last week I noticed that my approach doesn't work with web sites which are using a frameset (I added the event listener to the body...). So I tried to add the listener to the frameset respectively to the frame. But the clicks are only noticed when you actually click on the frame... (eg resize the frame with your mouse) But I want to register clicks on the document loaded inside the frame. I already tried the .frameElement. Sadly it seems that Firefox doesn't like my (or, which is more likely, I'm too stuipd :) ) and claims there are no frames... Could anyone tell me how to add an event listener to the document inside a frame?   • jQuery problem with change event and IE8

    There is a bug in jQuery 1.4.2 that makes change event on select-element getting fired twice when using both DOM-event and a jQuery event, and this only on IE7/8.   • flash as3 document class and event listeners

    I think i have this document class concept entirly wrong now, i was wondering if someone mind explaining it.. I assumed that the above class would be instantiated within the first frame on scene one of a movie. I also assumed that when changing scenes the state of the class would remain constant so any event listeners would still be running.. Scene 1: I have a movieclip named ui_mc, that has a button in for muting sound. Scene 2: I have the same movie clip with the same button. Now the eventListener picks it up in the first scene, however it does not in the second. I am wondering for every scene do the event listeners need to be resetup? If that is the case if their an event listener to listen for the change in scene, so i can set them back up again lol..     Im really annoyed with Internet Explorer.I designed a site using css. The really annoying part is the cross browser issues.. The site works fine in all versions of FireFox and Chrome but when it comes to internet explorer. IE5 - The complete site is messed up with the alignments IE6 - Major Alignment problems. IE7 and 8 Works pretty good. Can someone please suggest some good methods to get rid of the cross browser issues with IE??

    Some websites are not opening in my system. I am using Ubuntu 12.10. Earlier, when I was using Ubuntu 10.10,11.10 there was no such issue. The problem was started in ubuntu 12.04, but it remained the same even after formatting and installing ubuntu 12.10. I have tried Firefox as well as Chromium and I am sure the issue is not with the browser. same websites are opening perfectly with Windows. Google, Twitter and Ubuntu related websites are running perfect. Other websites like www.downrightnow.com, easy-mantra.com, facebook.com, sourceforge.net are not opening. Installed dual boot with win xp. Ubuntu 12.10 is 64 bit.     Hello, I'm designing event loop for asynchronous socket IO using epoll/devpoll/kqueue/poll/select (including windows-select). I have two options of performing, IO operation: Non-blocking mode, poll on EAGAIN Set socket to non-blocking mode. Read/Write to socket. If operation succeeds, post completion notification to event loop. If I get EAGAIN, add socket to "select list" and poll socket. Polling mode: poll and then execute Add socket to select list and poll it. Wait for notification that it is readable writable read/write Post completion notification to event loop of sucseeds To me it looks like first would require less system calls when using in normal mode, especially for writing to socket (buffers are quite big). Also it looks like that it would be possible to reduce the overhead over number of "select" executions, especially it is nice when you do not have something that scales well as epoll/devpoll/kqueue. Questions: Are there any advantages of the second approach? Are there any portability issues with non-blocking operations on sockets/file descriptors over numerous operating systems: Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, MacOSX, Windows. Notes: Please do not suggest using existing event-loop/socket-api implementations

    I just build a website that works good on any browser even ipad but in Oper ai noticed a weird thing: the website is built with a div layer on top zindez:999, body is overflow:hidden, and you cant scroll, but underneath the div there is a long text that goes way underneath the viewport... the strage thing is that even if any browser i wasable to keep this effect in Oepra if I use the mousewheel you can kepp scrolling...! ...argh.. do you any hack/solution for this?

  • fullCalendar: Implementing a custom event fetcher using event as function

    If I specify a json feed, the events are re-fetched everytime and the fetching time shows the item appearing which causes a delay which is undesirable (at least after initial fetch was done). I am using the latest version from gitHub 1.4.6. The lazyFetching property seems to only work when you change views and you previously fetched for example a month and are drilling down to week/day which is unusable since I only use agendaDay. I omitted a part where I manually delete those that we're deleted and modify those that we're updated since I am in multi-user settings but you get the point. My issue is that they are fetched once and added. But once I change day and come back, they don't render even if I used sticky... has anyone gotten this error or did I code anything wrong? Also, is this a wrong way to go? I will consider any input. :) Thank you very much.

These mistakes would get caught at the server side. Also bearing in mind that the bandwidth availability is a lesser concern I feel we should avoid browser side validations. This will save the effort of maintaining the same functionality at two places.

    After I installed the GNOME shell in Ubuntu, I decided that I didn't like having the "Close/Minimize/Maximize" buttons on the right, so I switched them over to the left using gconftool-2 --set "/apps/metacity/general/button_layout" --type string "close, minimize, maximize:" After resetting the shell, however, I found that with the GTK+ theme, only the close button shows up. Using system title bar and borders will make all the buttons appear, but I really want to use the theme because the system title bar makes the top bar too thick. Logging out and back in didn't fix it, and I tried reinstalling Chrome, but the problem persists.

    I've been having a crack at some of the problems over at http://projecteuler.net/ with JavaScript. I've been using a simple html page and running my code in script tags so I can log my results in the browsers' console. When experimenting with loops I sometimes cause the browser to crash. Is there a better environment for me to do this kind of development in, or anything I can do to allow me to carry on testing in the browser?

  • Accidentally hit shortcut and lost text in web browser. Can it be disabled?

    I have noticed that I occasionally hit some shortcut while typing that either kills the browser or otherwise causes me to lose e.g. a post I am writing. This typically happens if I type while on a bumpy road or something like that. It also just happened to my eight year old daughter ;-( I think the shortcut in question is CTRL-w which (at least in Firefox) closes the current tab and consequently whatever content is being written. I would like to know if anyone has noticed this and if someone has a solution e.g. a way to disable "dangerous" shortcuts if at all possible. Many thanks Ole (uniomni)

  • What is the best tool to sync browser passwords and bookmarks?

    Sadly, everything I've tried so far has been painful to manage between two computers, (even between different browsers on the same computer). So, right now I have different aggregations of bookmarks passwords in xmarks, delicious, google bookmarks, firefox sync, text files, and in figaro password manager (fpm2). I've also tried to use bindwood in the past. What I would like to do is merge all bookmarks and passwords into some solution that actually works either with tools available under Ubuntu, or with a browser-based tool (addon/plugin/extension) which works between between google-chrome/chromium, and firefox. It would be ideal if there was an ability to send and store passwords encrypted (if not on my own server). Whatever the method, I need the ability to have import from existing sources. (It doesn't have to be pretty, just repeatable.) It's possible that some things I've ruled out are now workable (e.g., xmarks broke for me at one point because I hit their bookmark limit for the server/account, and bindwood, firefox sync were firefox only).
