  • Finding, which web component is causing problems during page loading

    - by Juhele
I am using windows version of Firefox 5.0 and last few days I found that on one website (similar focus as stackexchange but in Czech), is something wrong as my browser loads it very slowly (while the connection is ok and never had problems with it). There is also another guy trying to solve the almost the same problem, but no help yet. So I would ask, whether there is some Firefox plugin showing which page components are loading and which could help me to find out the problem. I am writing from office pc so we have blocked all the social networks like FB, Twitter etc. and I also use Adblock Plus - however, deactivating it does not have any effect on it. thanks

  • Page loading hangs and never times out (Apache)

    - by Lucas -luky- N.
I have set up Apache2 on a guest Ubuntu 10.04 OS (virtualbox). I have created a "big" HTML file (4MB) with only plain text and when I access a page through my local IP address such as http://192.168.0.100 it successfully loads the entire page. However, when I try to access it through my public IP address the browser loads part of the page and then hangs forever on "loading". I can load a simple webpage though. I'm not sure whether it's an issue with my Apache configuration, Virtualbox, Router or Modem. Any clues? Tried enabling Debug and mod_status but didn't find any useful information.

  • Zend Framework 2 loading slow and loss of connection using WAMP

    - by Charlie
I've been facing an issue with Zend framework running on my local Wamp 2.2 server. I am not sure what I'm doing wrong but ZF2 seems to load really slow when making an http request. Any other request to a php or html file seems to run smoothly. Also, sometimes when the loading time takes longer, I get this message: "The connection to [virtualhostname] was interrupted" I then need to hit refresh to complete the request. I checked apache error log and everything looks fine. Please, I appreciate any type of guide/suggestion to take care of this issue. I followed the starter guide word by word.

  • Dynamically loading sub-trees into YUI Treeview

    - by user319399
When you create a YUI TreeView instance, you can pass in an object that represents an entire tree, and it will automatically build up the TextNodes for you. I'd like to send in a partial tree, such that the tree only goes, say, 2 levels deep, and anything deeper than that will invoke dynamic loading. I've got that much working. Now for the interesting part. In the dynamic loading callback I give to my tree instance, I want to again be able to just give YUI a big object representing more of the tree. I want to do something like this: // data is a array of objects organized into a tree, with some nodes requiring dynamic loading when they are navigated to tree = new YAHOO.widget.TreeView("treeDiv1", data); tree.setDynamicLoad(loadDataForNode); function loadDataForNode(node, onCompleteCallback) { if(node.children.length==0) { var subTree = { "label":"Cars", isLeaf:false, children:[ { "label":"Chevy", isLeaf:true }, { "label":"Ford", isLeaf:true }, ] }; // doesn't work, even though it has the required "label" field var tempNode = new YAHOO.widget.TextNode(subTree, node, true); } onCompleteCallback(); } Is this possible? Or do I have to iterate over all the nodes in my subtree and construct individual TextNodes for each one? Thanks much...

  • Django 1.4.1 error loading MySQLdb module when attempting 'python manage.py shell'

I am trying to set up MySQL, and can't seem to be able to enter the Django manage.py shell interpreter. • iPhone SDK background thread image loading problem

    - by retailevolved
I have created a grid view that displays six "cells" of content. In each cell, an image is loaded from the web. There are a multiple pages of this grid (the user moves through them by swiping up / down to see the next set of cells). Each cell has its own view controller. When these view controllers load, they use an ImageLoader class that I made to load and display an image. These view controllers implement an ImageLoaderDelegate that has a single method that gets called when the image is finished loading. ImageLoader does its work on a background thread and then simply notifies its delegate when it is done loading, passing the image to the delegate method. Trouble is that if the user moves on to the next page of grid content before the image has finished loading (releasing the GridCellViewControllers that use the ImageLoaders), the app crashes. I suspect that this is because along the line, an asynchronous method finishes and attempts to notify its delegate but can't because it's been released. Here's some code to give a better picture: GridCellViewController.m: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; // ImageLoader _loader = [[ProductImageLoader alloc] init]; _loader.delegate = self; if(_boundObject) [_loader loadImageForProduct:_boundObject]; } //ImageLoaderDelegate method - (void) imageDidFinishLoading: (UIImage *)image { [_imgController setImage:image]; } ProductImageLoader.m - (void) loadImageForProduct: (Product *) product { // Get image on another thread [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(getImageForProductInBackground:) toTarget:self withObject:product]; } - (void) getImageForProductInBackground: (Product *) product { NSAutoreleasePool *tempPool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; HttpRequestLoader *tempLoader = [[HttpRequestLoader alloc] init]; NSURL *tempUrl = [product getImageUrl]; NSData *imageData = tempUrl ? [tempLoader loadSynchronousDataFromAddress:[tempUrl absoluteString]] : nil; UIImage *image = [[UIImage alloc] initWithData:imageData]; [tempPool release]; if(delegate) [delegate imageDidFinishLoading:image]; } The app crashes with EXC_BAD_ACCESS. Disclaimer: The code has been slightly modified to focus on the issue at hand.

  • Faster image loading

    - by nemiss
I want to display about 5-8 images on my page, one by one, but I would like them to pre-load one and not loading them each time i switch to anohter image. I have seen some examples where they have all images (hidden) on the page something like: <a href=""><img id="img1" src="images/image1.png" class="image" alt="" /></a> <a href=""><img id="img2" src="images/image1.png" class="image" alt="" /></a> <a href=""><img id="img3" src="images/image1.png" class="image" alt="" /></a> And the unhide the current image. And what I have is one image that i change it's src attribute for path for new images from th array. SwitchNextImage: function(){ var theimg=document.getElementById("imgContainer"); this.currentIndex = this.currentIndex+ 1 == this.totalImageCount ? 0 : this.currentIndex + 1; theimg.src=this.slideimages[this.currentIndex].src; } The first method is obviously faster loading. But requies static links. My questions is how can I make my method more faster loading?

  • Winforms: How to display a "loading" form?

    - by Martijn
I have a grid and when a row is double clicked a form is loaded. However a lot of data must be loaded, so I'd like to display a simple form with the text 'loading, please wait..'. And when all loading is finished, the form must disappear. This is what I have right now, but it doesn't work: Code that invokes the form with lots of data: FormWithLotData form = new FormWithLotData(); form.ShowDialog(this); Constructor of FormWithLotData: // Show load form FormIsLoading frm = new FormIsLoading(); _CloseLoadForm closeForm = new _CloseLoadForm(frm.Close); System.Threading.Thread thread = new System.Threading.Thread(frm.Show); thread.Start(); InitializeComponent(); this.Visible = false; LoadAllData(); this.Visible = true; // Close load form Invoke(closeForm); Hope you can help me out. EDIT: I'd like to show an animated gif on the loading form.

  • Flash AS3: Loading bar not finished when movie starts playing

    - by flashey
    Hi, I'm using the same code I always use for preloading another swf but it's not working this time. The problem this time is that when the loading bar gets to 16% every time you can hear the movie I'm loading playing in the background. I can just add a stop to the first frame of the movie I'm loading ("trial_1.swf") but how do I tell it to go to the second frame once it has loaded? Any help is much appreciated! Here's my code: var myrequest:URLRequest=new URLRequest ("trial_1.swf"); var myloader:Loader = new Loader(); myloader.load(myrequest); myloader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, progresshandler); function progresshandler(myevent:ProgressEvent):void { var myprogress:Number=myevent.target.bytesLoaded/myevent.target.bytesTotal; bar_mc.scaleX=myprogress*1.5; myTextField_txt.text = Math.round(myprogress*100)+"%" } myloader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, finished); function finished(myevent:Event):void { addChild(myloader); removeChild(myTextField_txt) removeChild(bar_mc); removeChild(logo_mc); }

  • CSS3 transition on table row using height property

    - by Alexis Leclerc
I have an HTML table displaying some information with a few rows. On each row, the user can click to reveal some additional rows that contains information related to the clicked row. Something like this: While the additional rows are being created with an AJAX request, a loading row is inserted right after the clicked row : Currently, everything works perfectly (drill down style), but I would like to add some animation to the loading row. I found a question ( this one ) that has a JSFiddle showing kind of what I want ( this fiddle ). I tried to implement something similar with CSS3 transitions, but I can't get it to work. Here's my simulated attempt ( fiddle only for deployment of the loading row ) using these transitions : -webkit-transition: height 0.1s ease-in-out; -moz-transition: height 0.1s ease-in-out; -ms-transition: height 0.1s ease-in-out; -o-transition: height 0.1s ease-in-out; transition: height 0.1s ease-in-out; Any thought on why my fiddle doesn't do any animation? Any other methods you would propose? Thanks!

  • Not loading associations without proxies in NHibernate

    - by Alice
I don't like the idea of proxy and lazy loading. I don't need that. I want pure POCO. And I want to control loading associations explicitly when I need. Here is entity public class Post { public long Id { get; set; } public long OwnerId { get; set; } public string Content { get; set; } public User Owner { get; set; } } and mapping <class name="Post"> <id name="Id" /> <property name="OwnerId" /> <property name="Content" /> <many-to-one name="Owner" column="OwnerId" /> </class> However if I specify lazy="false" in the mapping, Owner is always eagerly fetched. I can't remove many-to-one mapping because that also disables explicit loading or a query like from x in session.Query<Comment>() where x.Owner.Title == "hello" select x; I specified lazy="true" and set use_proxy_validator property to false. But that also eager loads Owner. Is there any way to load only Post entity?

  • The right approach to loading dynamic content into a UITableView in iOS

    - by OS.
ok, I've read tons of bits and pieces on the subject of loading dynamic content (from the web) into a UITableView and the problem with calculating cell height upfront. I've tried different simple implementations but the problem persists... Assuming I need to read a JSON file from the web, parse it into 'item' objects, each with variable size image and various text labels, here is what I believe would be the right approach to avoid long hang time of the app while everything is loading: on app load read JSON file and parse into items array provide only small part of the items array to the tableview (about 10 items) - since I need to load the images associated with each item to calculate cell height - I don't want the view to go through the whole items list and load all images - this hangs the app until every image is loaded display the tableview with the available cells (assuming I load a few 'spare' ones, user can even scroll to more items) in the background using Grand Central Dispatch download images for all/some of the remaining items and then reload the tableview with the new data (repeat step 4 if item list is very long) Step 2 above is necessary since I have no way to calculate the cell height without loading the images first, and since tableview first calculates height of all cells it may take a very long time to download all images for all items. Would you say this is the right approach? am I missing something?

  • Show dialog while loading new screen

    - by darkdusky
    I have a front screen with a button which opens a second screen. The second screen can take a few seconds to load so I want to display a dialog while loading. My problem is the dialog does not display while loading second screen, but it displays when I return to first page from the second page. If I comment out the "startActivity" to open second page the dialog shows fine. I'm fairly new to android programming - I guess it has something to do with threads. //code snippet from inside onCreate: NewGame.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View arg0) { //does not get displayed before 2nd page opens showDialog(DIALOG2_KEY); //shows fine if next 2 lines commented out Intent i = new Intent(screen1.this, SudukuXL.class); startActivity(i); I've dealt with the dialog showing on returning to the front screen using onPause(). I've tried using threads to seperate the dialog from the startActivity but I've had no luck. Any help would be appreciated. I used code from Android examples to create dialog. I include below for reference: protected Dialog onCreateDialog(int id) { switch (id) { case DIALOG2_KEY: { ProgressDialog dialog = new ProgressDialog(this); dialog.setMessage("Loading..."); dialog.setIndeterminate(true); dialog.setCancelable(true); return dialog; } } return null; }

  • PHP Suhosin extension is not loading

    - by wintercounter
For some reason i have to adjust the suhosin.request.max_vars and suhosin.post.max_vars directives. I'm using ispCP, and it has default the suhosin patch, but as i read, i need to install the extension too. I've did this with apt-get install php5-suhosin and the suhosin.ini appeared in conf.d, and suhosin.so exists too in /usr/lib/php5. After the Apache restart the extension isn't loading. phpinfo() says: Scan this dir for additional .ini files /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d additional .ini files parsed /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/adodb.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/curl.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/eAccelerator.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/gd.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/idn.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/imagick.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/imap.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/mcrypt.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/memcache.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/mhash.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/ming.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/mysql.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/mysqli.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/pdo.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/pdo_mysql.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/pdo_sqlite.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/ps.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/pspell.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/recode.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/snmp.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/sqlite.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/tidy.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/xmlrpc.ini, /etc/php5/cgi/conf.d/xsl.ini As you can see, it doesn't loads the suhosin.ini. What can be the problem?

  • How to stop Excel 2003 from loading a Gazillion files

    - by Gary M. Mugford
One of my soon-to-be-ex-friends got an Excel file from another friend of his and decided to click on it. It started opening all kinds of files from within Excel. Over 200 and still counting when he called me. I told him to go to task manager, which showed a LOT of files in the applications tab, but only one Excel.exe in the processes tab. Closing it down there, closed down Excel. I then CrossLooped in to see if I could give him a helping hand. Each time Excel was re-opened, the mass influx of files started. They were all kinds of files, PDFs, Docs, JPGs, even some spreadsheets. It looked like the end of solitaire, with multiple windows opening (XP) and the counter on the lone Excel button on the task bar counting off the files. I did the task manager exit routine and went looking for temp files. I CrapCleaned out the system. Made sure I went through the files created in the last hour and deleted anything with a temp anywhere in it. I also deleted the crappy infected/corrupted file from it's place on the desktop (yeah, I know, I yelled for 15 minutes on THAT subject). Despite a delousing, the restart of Excel, which complained of a deactivated add-in, would start the cascading windows, whether I answered yes or no to that question. Yes, it knew it had a serious crash, but why would it just keep on trying to load the bad file, even when I got rid of it? But here's the real question. WHERE was it loading from? I went through the backup folder and NOTHING was there! So what's the process for starting Excel WITHOUT it trying to do a crash recovery? Sort of makes me feel stupid at times. Thanks for any light you can shed on this issue. GM

  • Browsers hang when loading web pages

    - by avalanchis
HP Laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2. Problem affects IE8 and Firefox. When attempting to browse most web sites, browser loads web site title in browser's title bar, then displays "Waiting for site url" and never completes loading the page. Able to connect to www.google.com with no problems. Unable to connect to www.carbonwy.com, www.wsj.com, www.cnn.com, www.microsoft.com, etc. Other PCs on same subnet are all able to connect to these sites without any problem. nslookup resolves all of these sites without any problem, so DNS does not appear to be the problem. Windows Firewall is disabled. Norton 360 was previously installed but has been uninstalled. No other firewall software is installed. IE8 Protected Mode is off. IE8 advanced settings have been reset. IE8 user settings have been reset. After reset, IE8 tries to connect to http://hp-laptop.aol.com and go.microsoft.com but same symptoms persist. Title bar loads, then nothing. System has been restarted numerous times. Running out of ideas. Please help!

  • Can't log in to GNOME after upgrade (raring -> saucy)

    - by x-yuri
I've just upgraded my ubuntu (raring to saucy) and I now can't log in to GNOME. As opposed to virtual consoles (Ctrl-Alt-F1, for example). I set it up to log in automatically. But it asks for password now. I type in the password, press Enter, the screen blinks and here I am again at the login screen. Then I looked into /var/log/Xorg.0.log: [ 33.956] Initializing built-in extension DRI2 [ 33.956] (II) LoadModule: "glx" [ 33.956] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so [ 33.956] (II) Module glx: vendor="X.Org Foundation" [ 33.956] compiled for 1.14.3, module version = 1.0.0 [ 33.956] ABI class: X.Org Server Extension, version 7.0 [ 33.956] (==) AIGLX enabled [ 33.956] Loading extension GLX [ 33.956] (==) Matched fglrx as autoconfigured driver 0 [ 33.956] (==) Matched ati as autoconfigured driver 1 [ 33.956] (==) Matched fglrx as autoconfigured driver 2 [ 33.956] (==) Matched ati as autoconfigured driver 3 [ 33.956] (==) Matched vesa as autoconfigured driver 4 [ 33.956] (==) Matched modesetting as autoconfigured driver 5 [ 33.956] (==) Matched fbdev as autoconfigured driver 6 [ 33.956] (==) Assigned the driver to the xf86ConfigLayout [ 33.956] (II) LoadModule: "fglrx" [ 33.957] (WW) Warning, couldn't open module fglrx [ 33.957] (II) UnloadModule: "fglrx" [ 33.957] (II) Unloading fglrx [ 33.957] (EE) Failed to load module "fglrx" (module does not exist, 0) [ 33.957] (II) LoadModule: "ati" [ 33.957] (WW) Warning, couldn't open module ati [ 33.957] (II) UnloadModule: "ati" [ 33.957] (II) Unloading ati [ 33.957] (EE) Failed to load module "ati" (module does not exist, 0) [ 33.957] (II) LoadModule: "vesa" [ 33.957] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/vesa_drv.so [ 33.957] (II) Module vesa: vendor="X.Org Foundation" [ 33.957] compiled for 1.14.1, module version = 2.3.2 [ 33.957] Module class: X.Org Video Driver [ 33.957] ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 14.1 [ 33.957] (II) LoadModule: "modesetting" [ 33.957] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/modesetting_drv.so [ 33.957] (II) Module modesetting: vendor="X.Org Foundation" [ 33.957] compiled for 1.14.1, module version = 0.8.0 [ 33.957] Module class: X.Org Video Driver [ 33.957] ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 14.1 [ 33.957] (II) LoadModule: "fbdev" [ 33.957] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/fbdev_drv.so [ 33.958] (II) Module fbdev: vendor="X.Org Foundation" [ 33.958] compiled for 1.14.1, module version = 0.4.3 [ 33.958] Module class: X.Org Video Driver [ 33.958] ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 14.1 [ 33.958] (==) Matched fglrx as autoconfigured driver 0 [ 33.958] (==) Matched ati as autoconfigured driver 1 [ 33.958] (==) Matched fglrx as autoconfigured driver 2 [ 33.958] (==) Matched ati as autoconfigured driver 3 [ 33.958] (==) Matched vesa as autoconfigured driver 4 [ 33.958] (==) Matched modesetting as autoconfigured driver 5 [ 33.958] (==) Matched fbdev as autoconfigured driver 6 [ 33.958] (==) Assigned the driver to the xf86ConfigLayout [ 33.958] (II) LoadModule: "fglrx" [ 33.958] (WW) Warning, couldn't open module fglrx [ 33.958] (II) UnloadModule: "fglrx" [ 33.958] (II) Unloading fglrx [ 33.958] (EE) Failed to load module "fglrx" (module does not exist, 0) [ 33.958] (II) LoadModule: "ati" [ 33.958] (WW) Warning, couldn't open module ati [ 33.958] (II) UnloadModule: "ati" [ 33.958] (II) Unloading ati [ 33.958] (EE) Failed to load module "ati" (module does not exist, 0) [ 33.958] (II) LoadModule: "vesa" [ 33.958] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/vesa_drv.so [ 33.958] (II) Module vesa: vendor="X.Org Foundation" [ 33.958] compiled for 1.14.1, module version = 2.3.2 [ 33.958] Module class: X.Org Video Driver [ 33.958] ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 14.1 [ 33.958] (II) UnloadModule: "vesa" [ 33.958] (II) Unloading vesa [ 33.958] (II) Failed to load module "vesa" (already loaded, 0) [ 33.958] (II) LoadModule: "modesetting" [ 33.959] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/modesetting_drv.so [ 33.959] (II) Module modesetting: vendor="X.Org Foundation" [ 33.959] compiled for 1.14.1, module version = 0.8.0 [ 33.959] Module class: X.Org Video Driver [ 33.959] ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 14.1 [ 33.959] (II) UnloadModule: "modesetting" [ 33.959] (II) Unloading modesetting [ 33.959] (II) Failed to load module "modesetting" (already loaded, 0) [ 33.959] (II) LoadModule: "fbdev" [ 33.959] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/fbdev_drv.so [ 33.959] (II) Module fbdev: vendor="X.Org Foundation" [ 33.959] compiled for 1.14.1, module version = 0.4.3 [ 33.959] Module class: X.Org Video Driver [ 33.959] ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 14.1 [ 33.959] (II) UnloadModule: "fbdev" [ 33.959] (II) Unloading fbdev [ 33.959] (II) Failed to load module "fbdev" (already loaded, 0) [ 33.959] (II) VESA: driver for VESA chipsets: vesa [ 33.959] (II) modesetting: Driver for Modesetting Kernel Drivers: kms [ 33.959] (II) FBDEV: driver for framebuffer: fbdev [ 33.959] (++) using VT number 7 If I install fglrx, it reads: [ 37.152] Initializing built-in extension DRI2 [ 37.152] (II) LoadModule: "glx" [ 37.152] (II) Loading /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/xorg/extra-modules/modules/extensions/libglx.so [ 37.152] (II) Module glx: vendor="Advanced Micro Devices, Inc." • Error loading operating system: format Windows 7 to Windows XP Service Pack 3

    - by Blerta
I saw that there are other questions like mine here. But O also saw that some problems where solved with fixmbr from a Windows 7 recovery console, but that didn't work for me. I bought my laptop with Vista installed and later reformated and used Windows 7. During formatting with Windows 7 I had some problems with my hard drive and found out it was dead so I bought a new one. I wanted to reformat with Windows XP,because Windows 7 is consuming more RAM that it is able handle and I wanted to use it for other programs. So I formatted with Windows XP Service Pack 3 but after first reboot a message appeared: "Error loading operating system" Reading here, I assumed that maybe I had installed it on the wrong partition and maybe having two OS now, so I used fixmbr but it is still not starting up. Anyway I am sure that is not the case of two operating systems. Is there any chance that when the computer designed to work with Vista you would face problems with Windows XP? Like not recognizing a hard drive?

  • Google Chrome not loading web pages correctly unless multiple refreshes

    - by Brandon Wilson
Webpages in Google Chrome do not load correctly from time to time. I can't reproduce it, it just happens. Some times it happens when I load the browser other times it happens when I am just browsing. Just now I went to five different web sites which 3 out of 5 of them did not load correctly. I have attached a photo of how Super User loaded the first time I loaded it. If I refreshed it it will load correctly. Facebook is bad like this. Some times Facebook will load correctly but some of there back end scripting may not load so the page may not refresh automatically. Not sure what is going on. I have tried other browsers (Firefox and Internet Explorer) and they seem to be working correctly. Chrome seems to be acting up only on this computer. All my computers are running Windows 8 and I have removed Chrome completely off this computer and re-installed. I even disabled all extensions and cleared all the caches. I even tried running Chrome without being logged in. Not sure what else to do at this point. An example of superuser.com not loading correctly: When I refresh the problem will go away until it happens again. Sometimes it takes two or three refreshes in order for it to correctly load.

  • Windows 7 hangs while loading desktop

    - by Joshua
I am facing a weird problem. My computer hangs while loading the desktop, and only the background shows up; no icons or bars load. If I power the system on and off about 4-6 times, I may be able to use it normally. The desktop loads normally after rebooting or in safe mode; this only occurs when I start the system normally. I've tried several things to fix it, such as removing all start-up items, but it still doesn't solve the problem. What should I do? I found three major errors in Event Viewer: Source: Microsoft-Windows-DistributedCOM Level: Error DCOM got error "1084" attempting to start the service WSearch with arguments "" in order to run the server: {7D096C5F-AC08-4F1F-BEB7-5C22C517CE39} Source: Microsoft-Windows-DistributedCOM Level: Error DCOM got error "1084" attempting to start the service WSearch with arguments "" in order to run the server: {7D096C5F-AC08-4F1F-BEB7-5C22C517CE39} Source: Service Control Manager Level: Error The Network List Service service depends on the Network Location Awareness service which failed to start because of the following error: The dependency service or group failed to start.

  • Failed loading ioncube

    - by time
    I recently upgraded a small server to Ubuntu 12.10 (from 12.04), thus upgrading PHP from 5.3 to 5.4. However, I'm getting this in root's mailbox several times a day: Subject: Cron <root@xxxxxxx> [ -x /usr/lib/php5/maxlifetime ] && [ -d /var/lib/php5 ] && find /var/lib/php5/ -depth -mindepth 1 -maxdepth 1 -type f -ignore_readdir_race -cmin +$(/usr/lib/php5/maxlifetime) ! -execdir fuser -s {} 2>/dev/null \; -delete Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ANSI_X3.4-1968 X-Cron-Env: <SHELL=/bin/sh> X-Cron-Env: <HOME=/root> X-Cron-Env: <PATH=/usr/bin:/bin> X-Cron-Env: <LOGNAME=root> Message-Id: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Sun, 9 Dec 2012 05:09:02 -0500 (EST) Failed loading /usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs/ioncube_loader_lin_5.3.so: /usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs/ioncube_loader_lin_5.3.so: undefined symbol: php_body_write I assume that's coming up because it's for PHP 5.3. How can I just get rid of ioncube? I have no need for it, I don't even remember installing it. That .so file doesn't exist, and I've grep'd several locations for "ioncube" and I can't seem to figure how to stop that message from flooding the mailbox.

  • How could Load average numbers from 'htop' exceed 100% CPU utlization?

    - by Joe Huang
I use 'htop' to monitor my web server. It's recently quite loaded and the Load average is showing something like this: Load average: 3.10 2.56 1.63 I searched the web about these numbers and I found an article about it: http://blog.scoutapp.com/articles/2009/07/31/understanding-load-averages In the article, it says if I have 2 CPUs, 2.0 means 100% CPU utilization. And my VPS has two CPUs, so what does 3.1 mean? How could it exceed 100% CPU utilization? And from these numbers, does it mean I should be wary about the loading now? But the performance seems totally fine, and this is a managed VPS, the hosting company has not notified me any warning about it. During day time, Load average always show these high numbers... here is another snapshot while writing. Load average: 3.03 2.77 1.97 Load average: 0.41 1.29 1.60 <---- 5 more minutes later So I am wondering how much room left for this site to grow in current configurations? What kind of proactive actions I should take in advance? I don't want to wait until the server bursts. Thanks.
