  • splat operator in groovy?

    - by IttayD
def foo(map, name) { println(map) } foo("bar", hi: "bye") will print [hi:bye] Now I have a previous map that I wish to pass along to foo. In pseudo code, something like: def otherMap = [hi: "world"] foo("bar", hi: "bye", otherMap*) So that it prints [hi:world] This doesn't work of course. Also, trying to pass just the map mixes the order of arguments: def otherMap = [hi: "world"] foo("bar", otherMap) will print bar How can I fix this?

  • Apache mod_rewrite - prefer files over directories with pretty URLs

    - by Jesse
I want to have pretty urls so http://www.domain.com/foo will return http://www.domain.com/foo.php The issue is that there is a directory that has the same name. I have another page at http://www.domain.com/foo/bar/baz and right now my server just returns the directory listing of foo when I request http://www.domain.com/foo Pseudocode: If the request plus ".php" is a file rewrite out the file instead of the directory Actual Code: RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME}\.php -f RewriteRule (.*) $1.php [NC,L]

  • Do I have to call release on an objective-c retain class variable when setting it to a new object?

    - by Andrew Arrow
Say I have: @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *foo; in some class. And I call: myclass.foo = [NSString stringWithString:@"string1"]; myclass.foo = [NSString stringWithString:@"string2"]; Should I have called [myclass.foo release] before setting it to "string2" to avoid a memory leak? Or the fact that nothing is pointing to the first "string1" object anymore is good enough? And in the dealloc method [foo release] will be called.

  • Hot to get rid of memory allocations/deallocations in swig wrappers?

    - by Dmitriy Matveev
I want to use swig for generation of read-only wrappers for a complex object. The object which I want to wrap will always be existent while I will read it. And also I will only use my wrappers at the time that object is existent, thus I don't need any memory management from SWIG. For following swig interface: %module test %immutable; %inline %{ struct Foo { int a; }; struct Bar { int b; Foo f; }; %} I will have a wrappers which will have a lot of garbage in generated interfaces and do useless work which will reduce performance in my case. Generated java wrapper for Bar class will be like this: public class Bar { private long swigCPtr; protected boolean swigCMemOwn; protected Bar(long cPtr, boolean cMemoryOwn) { swigCMemOwn = cMemoryOwn; swigCPtr = cPtr; } protected static long getCPtr(Bar obj) { return (obj == null) ? 0 : obj.swigCPtr; } protected void finalize() { delete(); } public synchronized void delete() { if (swigCPtr != 0) { if (swigCMemOwn) { swigCMemOwn = false; testJNI.delete_Bar(swigCPtr); } swigCPtr = 0; } } public int getB() { return testJNI.Bar_b_get(swigCPtr, this); } public Foo getF() { return new Foo(testJNI.Bar_f_get(swigCPtr, this), true); } public Bar() { this(testJNI.new_Bar(), true); } } I don't need 'swigCMemOwn' field in my wrapper since it always will be false. All code related to this field will also be useless. There are also unnecessary logic in native code: SWIGEXPORT jlong JNICALL Java_some_testJNI_Bar_1f_1get(JNIEnv *jenv, jclass jcls, jlong jarg1, jobject jarg1_) { jlong jresult = 0 ; struct Bar *arg1 = (struct Bar *) 0 ; Foo result; (void)jenv; (void)jcls; (void)jarg1_; arg1 = *(struct Bar **)&jarg1; result = ((arg1)->f); { Foo * resultptr = (Foo *) malloc(sizeof(Foo)); memmove(resultptr, &result, sizeof(Foo)); *(Foo **)&jresult = resultptr; } return jresult; } I don't need these calls to malloc and memmove. I want to force swig to resolve both of these problems, but don't know how. Is it possible?

  • scala implicit or explicit conversion from iterator to iterable

    - by landon9720
Does Scala provide a built-in class, utility, syntax, or other mechanism for converting (by wrapping) an Iterator with an Iterable? For example, I have an Iterator[Foo] and I need an Iterable[Foo], so currently I am: val foo1: Iterator[Foo] = .... val foo2: Iterable[Foo] = new Iterable[Foo] { def elements = foo1 } This seems ugly and unnecessary. What's a better way?

  • Convert Object Hierachey to Object Array

    - by Killercam
All, I want to create an object array foo[], where the constructor for Foo is public Foo(string name, string discription){} I have a database object which has a structure (not incuding stored procedures, functions or views for simplicity) like public class Database { public string name { get; set; } public string filename { get; set; } public List<Table> tables { get; set; } public Database(string name, string filename) { this.name = name; this.filename = filename; } } protected internal class Table { public string name { get; set; } public List<Column> columns { get; set;} public Table(string name, List<Column> columns) { this.name = name; this.columns = columns; } } protected internal class Column { public string name { get; set; } public string type { get; set; } public Column(string name, string type, int maxLength, bool isNullable) { this.name = name; this.type = type; } } I would like to know the quickest way to add Column and Table information to the Foo[] object array? Clearly I can do List<Foo> fooList = new List<Foo>(); foreach (Table t in database.tables) { fooList.Add(new Foo(t.Name, "Some Description")); foreach (Column c in t.columns) fooList.Add(new Foo(c.Name, "Some Description")); } Foo[] fooArr = fooList.ToArray<Foo>(); But is there a quicker way? Clearly LINQ is likely to be slower for a query that does a simalar operation, but I care allot about speed here so any advice would be appreciated. Perhaps the use of a HashSet would be the way to go as there will not be duplicate entries... Thanks for your time.

  • best alternative to in-definition initialization of static class members? (for SVN keywords)

    - by Jeff
I'm storing expanded SVN keyword literals for .cpp files in 'static char const *const' class members and want to store the .h descriptions as similarly as possible. In short, I need to guarantee single instantiation of a static member (presumably in a .cpp file) to an auto-generated non-integer literal living in a potentially shared .h file. Unfortunately the language makes no attempt to resolve multiple instantiations resulting from assignments made outside class definitions and explicitly forbids non-integer inits inside class definitions. My best attempt (using static-wrapping internal classes) is not too dirty, but I'd really like to do better. Does anyone have a way to template the wrapper below or have an altogether superior approach? // Foo.h: class with .h/.cpp SVN info stored and logged statically class Foo { static Logger const verLog; struct hInfoWrap; public: static hInfoWrap const hInfo; static char const *const cInfo; }; // Would like to eliminate this per-class boilerplate. struct Foo::hInfoWrap { hInfoWrapper() : text("$Id$") { } char const *const text; }; ... // Foo.cpp: static inits called here Foo::hInfoWrap const Foo::hInfo; char const *const Foo::cInfo = "$Id$"; Logger const Foo::verLog(Foo::cInfo, Foo::hInfo.text); ... // Helper.h: output on construction, with no subsequent activity or stored fields class Logger { Logger(char const *info1, char const *info2) { cout << info0 << endl << info1 << endl; } }; Is there a way to get around the static linkage address issue for templating the hInfoWrap class on string literals? Extern char pointers assigned outside class definitions are linguistically valid but fail in essentially the same manner as direct member initializations. I get why the language shirks the whole resolution issue, but it'd be very convenient if an inverted extern member qualifier were provided, where the definition code was visible in class definitions to any caller but only actually invoked at the point of a single special declaration elsewhere. Anyway, I digress. What's the best solution for the language we've got, template or otherwise? Thanks!

  • How can I call a method given only its name?

    - by mfolnovich
I'm trying to have method void run( string method ) which would run method in that class. For example: class Foo { public: void run( string method ) { // this method calls method *method* from this class } void bar() { printf( "Function bar\n" ); } void foo2() { printf( "Function foo2\n" ); } } Foo foo; int main( void ) { foo.run( "bar" ); foo.run( "foo2" ); } this would print: Function bar Function foo2 Thanks! :)

  • Is it possible for an abstract class to force it's children to have a constructor in PHP?

  • Name hiding from inherited classes

    - by Mercerbearman
    I have the following sample code and I wanted to know the correct way to get access to the Pass method in the CBar class. Currently I have found 3 ways to get access to this method and they are as follows: Casting the object, ((CBar *) &foo)-Pass(1, 2, 3); Using this syntax, foo.CBar::Pass(1,2,3); Use the "using" syntax in the CFoo class declaration, using CBar::Pass. The following is an example of a simple project to test this capability. Foo.h #include "bar.h" class CFoo : public CBar { private: double m_a; double m_b; public: CFoo(void); ~CFoo(void); void Pass(double a, double b); }; Foo.cpp #include "Foo.h" CFoo::CFoo(void) { m_a = 0.0; m_b = 0.0; } CFoo::~CFoo(void) { } void CFoo::Pass(double a, double b) { m_a = a; m_b = b; } Bar.h class CBar { int m_x; int m_y; int m_z; public: CBar(void); ~CBar(void); void Pass(int x, int y, int z); }; Bar.cpp #include "Bar.h" CBar::CBar(void) { m_x = 0; m_y = 0; m_z = 0; } CBar::~CBar(void) { } void CBar::Pass(int x, int y, int z) { m_x = x; m_y = y; m_z = z; } And my main class DoStuff.cpp #include "DoStuff.h" #include "Foo.h" CDoStuff::CDoStuff(void) { } CDoStuff::~CDoStuff(void) { } int main() { CFoo foo, foo1, foo2; //This only gets to the Pass method in Foo. foo.Pass(2.5, 3.5); //Gets access to Pass method in Bar. foo1.CBar::Pass(5,10,15); //Can also case and access by location for the same result?? ((CBar *) &foo2)->Pass(100,200,300); return 0; } Are each of these options viable? Are some preferred? Are there pitfalls with using any one of the methods listed? I am especially curious about the foo.CBar::Pass(1,2,3) syntax. Thanks, B

  • How do you re-mount an ext3 fs readwrite after it gets mounted readonly from a disk error?

    - by cagenut
Its a relatively common problem when something goes wrong in a SAN for ext3 to detect the disk write errors and remount the filesystem read-only. Thats all well and good, only when the SAN is fixed I can't figure out how to re-re-mount the filesystem read-write without rebooting. Behold: [root@localhost ~]# multipath -ll mpath0 (36001f93000a310000299000200000000) dm-2 XIOTECH,ISE1400 [size=1.1T][features=1 queue_if_no_path][hwhandler=0][rw] \_ round-robin 0 [prio=2][active] \_ 1:0:0:1 sdb 8:16 [active][ready] \_ 2:0:0:1 sdc 8:32 [active][ready] [root@localhost ~]# mount /dev/mapper/mpath0 /mnt/foo [root@localhost ~]# touch /mnt/foo/blah All good, now I yank the LUN out from under it. Not so fast: [root@localhost ~]# touch /mnt/foo/blah touch: cannot touch `/mnt/foo/blah': Read-only file system OK, doesn't do it automatically, I'll just give it a little push: [root@localhost ~]# mount -o remount /mnt/foo mount: block device /dev/mapper/mpath0 is write-protected, mounting read-only Noooooooooo. I have tried all sorts of different mount/tune2fs/dmsetup commands and I cannot figure out how to get it to un-flag the block device as write-protected. Rebooting will fix it, but I'd much rather do it on-line. An hour of googling has gotten me nowhere either. Save me ServerFault.

  • Mod_Rewrite w Apache mod_jrun22.so & ColdFusion 9 on cPanel

    - by Eddie B
How can I utilize mod_rewrite at either the httpd.conf level or per-directory level when mod_jrun22 seems to have short-stopped the rewrite process for ColdFusion pages? I have a ColdFusion 9 based site running on Centos 5.8 w cPanel. cPanel uses EasyApache 3 to manage virtual host containers and as such the conf for mod_jrun22.so, /usr/local/apache/conf/includes/pre_main_global.conf, is loaded prior to the main httpd.conf with the domain specific rules for the container. My assertion is that .cfm pages are failing to be rewritten due to the mod_jk22.so module having priority in the directive chain. To note, I also have a WordPress blog in the site where the rewrites appear to be working fine. For example the following code to remove the index file works fine for php and fails with cfm ... .htaccess under /blog/ : This works Options -Indexes -Multiviews <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /blog/ RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /blog/index.php [L] </IfModule> .htaccess under / : This does not work as expected. Apache serves the page. ASSERT: This would redirect to domain.com/ without index.cfm Options -Indexes -Multiviews <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index\.cfm$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.cfm [L] </IfModule> .htaccess under / : This works I'm presuming this is working because the redirect is to another .cfm page and a 404 handler in Application.cfc ... Options -Indexes -Multiviews <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^.*\.cfm$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{ENV:REDIRECT_STATUS} =404 RewriteRule . /404.cfm$ [L] </IfModule> I've attempted numerous different methods to rewrite .cfm urls ... Adding [PT], [L], [R], [NS], Moving the script to Directory blocks under httpd.conf --- all with the same results ... either the rewrite doesn't work or Apache crashes in an endless loop ... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Below is a single-visit rewrite log snippet for a request to /index.cfm ... the pass-through is taking effect before the rewrite ... cat rewrite_dump_mod | grep index.cfm [perdir /home/foo/public_html/] strip per-dir prefix: /home/foo/public_html/index.cfm -> index.cfm [perdir /home/foo/public_html/] applying pattern '^.*\.cfm$' to uri 'index.cfm' [perdir /home/foo/public_html/] pass through /home/foo/public_html/index.cfm [perdir /home/foo/public_html/] strip per-dir prefix: /home/foo/public_html/index.cfm -> index.cfm [perdir /home/foo/public_html/] applying pattern '^.*\.cfm$' to uri 'index.cfm' [perdir /home/foo/public_html/] pass through /home/foo/public_html/index.cfm * UPDATE * I've managed to figure this out ... it took a while ...
