• Solaris 10 keyboard problem

  Im runing Solaris 10 - but im having problems with the keyboard. Instead of - i get /, and instead of y i get z, etc. I tried changing every option in the menu "Keyboard Behaviour". I also tried changing kmdconfig from xorg to xsun, but then the graphics goes all wild and ugly - although the keyboard works fine then. Also cant change resolution in xsun mode. By the way, im runing Solaris from Vmware, but i doubt this has anything to do with this.

• Storing search result for paging and sorting

  I've been implementing MS Search Server 2010 and so far its really good. Im doing the search queries via their web service, but due to the inconsistent results, im thinking about caching the result instead. The site is a small intranet (500 employees), so it shouldnt be any problems, but im curious what approach you would take if it was a bigger site. I've googled abit, but havent really come over anything specific. So, a few questions: What other approaches are there? And why are they better? How much does it cost to store a dataview of 400-500 rows? What sizes are feasible? Other points you should take into consideration. Any input is welcome :)

  All, I have a problem related to imageView, android. I have array which contains of 10 bitmap objects, called bm. I have a imageView, called im. Now I wanna show the bitmaps in the array in im one by one, so I did the following: new Thread(new Runnable() { public void run() { for(int j=0;j<10;j++){ im.setImageBitmap(bm[j]); } } }).start(); But the result only shows the last bitmap in the array. Can someone tell me what to do with this issue? Millions of thanks!

• Cakephp session is not setting in pages controller

  Hi, I am using cakephp1.2 . I have override the pages controller. While login from my application, Im setting the session and redirecting to pages controller, but there I could not able to get the session. If I redirect to some other controller, Im getting the session over there. I have a table with name "pages", and when the user clicks on the links (passing page name), Im taking data from that table and displaying using pages_controller. Can I not use "pages" as table name ? Or session won't work in pages_controller ?

  Hi, im using symfony with doctrine, and Im trying to generate the schema yml file from a db. I get an this error SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'group' at line 1. Failing Query: "DESCRIBE group"I have a table named group in my database, and I suspect that this is screwing it up. Its not access problems as ive checked my db previleges. Any suggestions on what I can do? I have tried the quote-identifier attribute but with no luck : ( Im also struggling to find some good doctrine documentation. i cant seem to find where a list of attributes are, say for a creating a column in the schema.yml file. I tried reaching out to symfony forums but they are not responsive! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks..

• Netbeans GUI editor problems

  Hey guys. Im making a portion of my app using the netbeans gui editor. Great so far. However ive added a new checkbox - and when i load the panel in my app the text attribute isnt shown...its just blank as if i have no caption on it... all the other ones display - so this is very annoying. It kind of seems that I have hit the limit on gui items or something, becasue any new items I add I cannot seem then, If i add new labels they dont show either :S! The other problems Im having are that the size of the window im editting appears to be fixed - every time i change it, it jumps back to the same size - how do i stop this from happening? Cheers Andy

  Hi, Im currently building a new discount-webpage and Im looking for a solution to be able to hover over a discount button to reveal a small text without clicking. And after clicking on the button that the text in the flash button is copied into the clipboard and a new page open with a small frame from my window with the new page underneith. examples of this kind of script can be viewed on this page: http://www.retailmenot.com/ on the yellow boxes with the discount text. Im not looking for a free script or for someone to do this for me. All I want to know if there is another language to do this with like possibly java? and maybe some links to tutorials. (the current page solves this with flash which I havent worked with before.)

• AS3 Dynamic Sprites/Movie Clips

  Im having a hard time putting in my head on how would i go at making flash read a xml file (this part I have it going smooth) and then fromt hat elements put on the stage a sprite or a movieclip that is interactive. To make it clear I want to load and display an image that when you press it it just creates another square beneath it with some text. I believe I have to interate the xml and then use each of the elements with a class and gettin that object onto the stage. Im using flash builder and as3 and im looking just for pointing in the rigth direction, of course I apreciate any more elaborate though some head clearing is just as good. Thank you.

• Checking date against date range in Python

  I have a date variable: 2011-01-15 and I would like to get a boolean back if said date is within 3 days from TODAY. Im not quite sure how to construct this in Python. Im only dealing with date, not datetime. My working example is a "grace period". A user logs into my site and if the grace period is within 3 days of today, additional scripts, etc. are omitted for that user. I know you can do some fancy/complex things in Python's date module(s) but Im not sure where to look.

• Detecting Screen Resolution to load alternative CSS a good idea?

  Im working with a graphic designer who constantly wants to make websites larger than the 960 pixels i recommend. I can do a certain amount with liquid layouts but id really love to be able to load different CSS for larger resolutions. I googled it and found the link below, but im worried that I havnt heard more about this. Is this is a reliable method?   Hi Guys Currently i am doing one project in that we need to generate report from database. Since my server memory is too low im getting 'Out of Memory' Exception when im writing it at serverside and also when i write directly to a excel file using http header as excel file im not able to create multiple sheets since my database table is huge more than 65536 rows. I saw many solution using a third party tool but i cant use those into mine..If anyone already worked on this please give me some direction. Also i tried using javascript but for that i need to use datagrid at server side?? but in my project i m not allowed to use like this.

  Heys guys! Im have been study UML and im trying to to design the use case diagram of a problem. Lets supose my app consists in this: Two Requesites: - create teams - create players This is the deal: A user can create a team, and after create a team he can create players for that team(not required). But in this app there are multiple users, and a user can create a team and other user can create players. The only constraint is that to create players must exist alreay a team. I research and i end up a little confuse. If i get the concepts of relations on use case diagrams right, i think i should have the folowwing two use cases: [use case - create team] <-------extends---- [use case - create player] I need opinions,Is this the proper solution? or should i have two not related use cases?   I receive the following exception when Im trying to alter my @ID in an @Entity. identifier of an instance of com.google.search.pagerank.ItemEntity was altered from 1 to 2. I know that im altering the primary key in my table. Im using JPA-annotations. I solved this by using this single HQL query: update Table set name=:newName where name=:oldName instead of using the more oo approach: beginTransaction(); T e = session.load(...); e.setName(newName); session.saveOrUdate(e); commit(); Any idea what the diff is?

  Im developing my own framework that uses namespaces. Doctrine is already integrated into my auto loading system and im now at the stage where ill be creating the model system for my application Usually i would create a simple model like so: namespace Application\Models; class Users extends \Framework\Models\Database{} which would inherit all the default database model methods, But with Doctrine im still learning how it all works, as its not just a simple DBAL. I need to understand whats the part of doctrine my classes would extend where i can do the following: namespace Application\Models; class Users Extends Doctrine\Something\Table { public $__table_name = "users"; } And thus within the controller i would be able to do the following: public function Display($uid) { $User = $this->Model->Users->findOne(array("id" => (int)$id)); } Anyone help me get my head around this ?

  Im having this weird reference issue when im trying to get a JSON file through query: var themeData; $.getJSON("json/sample.js", function(data) { themeData = data.theme; console.log(themeData.sample[0].description); }); console.log(themeData.sample[0].description); The first console.log works, the second doesnt. Im guessing because "data" already expired by the time the script gets there and themeData is just a mere pointer to "data". Is there a ways I can make sure themeData gets a duplicate of "data" and not just a pointer to it?

  Hello, im creating a MVC application thats following a restfull URL approach Im am experiencing the following error... "The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters." This error occurs when my URL length = 225 chars. Surly I can have much longer URL's without this problem and doesn’t this relate to file paths rather than URL's ? Im sure some of you MVC guys have experienced this ;) is there a way round it ?? where am i going wrong ?? thank you for your time Truegilly

  Hello im developing some backends in ASP.NET 2.0 and i have put all the images in Cache, GZIPED my CSS, JS files and everything to speedup the load of each options. the performance its good and i have no problems with the clients but i want "MORE" fast loads and im looking for some recomendations. Is important to mention that those websites are using only in intranets so im thinking to implement my next projects using IFRAME for content that way (i think) the options will be loading faster because they not have to load the entire site. any help / recomendations? thanks in advance.

  Hello Im building a new version of an iPhone application and Im wondering if I should review how my app communicates with the server. My iPhone client sends and receives XML over HTTP requests. To send the information I use ASIHTTPRequest framework. I "manually" build the XML request by appending strings. To parse the response Im using a NSXMLParser. My question is if I have better options to A) Create an XML string from a memory object. B) Create a memory object from the XML string. Is there anything like JAXB to marshal XML into object?   I need little help with transferring data from variables, arrays, lists to my SQL Server. Im not bad in SQL, but im not familiar with DataSet, DataTable objects. My data is now stored in list of strings (List). Every string in that list looks similar to this: QWERTY,19920604,0.91,0.35,0.34,0.35,343840 There are about 900000 rows like this. Target datatypes in SQL Server: BIGINT (primary key, im not inserting it, its identity(1,1)) VARCHAR(10), DATE, DECIMAL(10,2), DECIMAL(10,2), DECIMAL(10,2), DECIMAL(10,2), INT How to convert that data to SQL Server data types? How to insert that data into SQL Server? Also i need some progress bar updates between inserts. I could do this using old-fashion SQL command, but i have learn more modern way :)

• 3d movement around a sphere

  Hey guys, Im working in 3d for the first time in a long time. Basically im rotating a sphere and projecting x y z cords to place things on the surface based on the spheres X and Y rotation. Heres the code im using: #define piover180 0.01745329252f GLfloat cosy = cos(yrot * piover180); island[i].x = rad * sin(xrot * piover180)* cosy; island[i].y = rad * sin(yrot * piover180); island[i].z = rad * cos(xrot * piover180) * cosy; Problem is the Xrot positioning works fine but the Yrot placement always draw the objects into the north and south pole so they all cross at the top, which isnt correct for rotating.
