  • Losing scope for DataContex using LINQToSQL intermediately

    I am having a weird Situation with my DataConext. All My code is in C# I have a DLL project for my data access layer and business Layer which and Winforms project for my UI layer. My Data access Layer's Namespace is xxx.Data this is where have my xxx.dbml I also have xxx.Data.BusinessObjects name space of course for my business object in that project In my UI Layer I have these namespaces xxxApp(for Forms), xxxApp.Controls (For Controls) I have lost scope of the DataContext, it was accessible now when I do a Rebuild Solution I sometimes get compile errors saying for example: Error 34 'xxx.Data.xxxDataContext' does not contain a definition for 'SubmitChanges' and no extension method 'SubmitChanges' accepting a first argument of type 'xxx.Data.xxxDataContext' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Also intelisense doesn't recognize the methods and table classes from my xxxDataContext anymore I can access all object fine when I am in the DLL project but now in the Winforms project this is very strange. If anyone can help me out I would be extremely grateful!

  • Please explain syntax rules and scope for "typedef"

    What are the rules? OTOH the simple case seems to imply the new type is the last thing on a line. Like here Uchar is the new type. typedef unsigned char Uchar; But a function pointer is completely different. Here the new type is pFunc: typedef int (*pFunc) (int); I can't think of any other examples offhand but I have come across some very confusing usages. So are there rules or are people just suppose to know from experience that this is how it is done because they have seen it done this way before? ALSO: What is the scope of a typedef.   • I get "stack level too deep" error when using a named scope

    I'm using ruby on rails 2.3.8 and when I write the syntax shown below I get the "stack level too deep" error message. The model is called Announcement and the line of the error looks like this: Tag.find(category_id).announcements.published Where published is named_scope :published, :conditions => "announcements.state = 'published'" I use this named scope in many other places and it works fine. What am I doing wrong? (the relationship between Tag and Announcement model is ok because if I remove the ".published" method from that line it works just fine).

  • Create a named cell dynamically

    I have a workbook with 3 worksheets. 1 worksheet will have input values (not created at the moment and not needed for this question), 1 worksheet with several "template" or "source" tables, and the last worksheet has 4 formatted "target" tables (empty or not doesn't matter). Each template table has 3 columns, 1 column identifying what the values are for in the second 2 columns. The value columns have formulas in them and each cell is Named. The formulas use the cell Names rather than cell address (e.g. MyData1 instead of C2). I am trying to copy the templates into the target tables while also either copying the cell Names from the source into the targets or create the Names in the target tables based on the source cell Names. My code below I am creating the target names by using a "base" in the Name that will be changed depending on which target table it gets copied to. my sample tables have "Num0_" for a base in all the cell names (e.g. Num0_MyData1, Num0_SomeOtherData2, etc). Once the copy has completed the code will then name the cells by looking at the target Names (and address), replacing the base of the name with a new base, just adding a number of which target table it goes to, and replacing the sheet name in the address. Here's where I need help. The way I am changing that address will only work if my template and target are using the same cell addresses of their perspective sheets. Which they are not. (e.g. Template1 table has value cells, each named, of B2 thru C10, and my target table for the copy may be F52 thur G60). Bottom line I need to figure out how to copy those names over with the templates or name the cells dynamically by doing something like a replace where I am incrementing the address value based on my target table #...remember I have 4 target tables which are static, I will only copy to those areas. I am a newbie to vba so any suggestions or help is appreciated. NOTE: The copying of the table works as I want. It even names the cells (if the Template and Target Table have the same local worksheet cell address (e.g. C2) 'Declare Module level variables 'Variables for target tables are defined in sub's for each target table.     I'm having a little problem with constant scope in mixin modules. Let's say I have something like this module Auth USER_KEY = "user" unless defined? USER_KEY def authorize user_id = session[USER_KEY] def end The USER_KEY constant should default to "user" unless it's already defined. Now I might mix this into a couple of places, but in one of those places the USER_KEY needs to be different, so we might have something like this class ApplicationController < ActionController::Base USER_KEY = "my_user" include Auth def test_auth authorize end end I would expect that USER_KEY would be "my_user" when used in authorize, since it's already defined, but it's still "user", taken from the modules definition of USER_KEY. Anyone have any idea how to get authorize to use the classes version of USER_KEY?

    I looked through the other posts and bug reports and couldn't figure out what's causing this. I'm using Jython 2.5.1, in a Java project in Eclipse (Ubuntu 8.10). It has been added to the project as a standalone .jar file (I just replaced the old Jython 2.1 jar with this one). I'm running a script that uses the threading.py class. At some point the statement "import os" is evaluated from linecache.py and I get this error, which I can't seem to figure out how to fix: 'Execution failed.     I am having trouble in creating named pipe in Android and the example below illustrates my dilemma: res = mkfifo("/sdcard/fifo9000", S_IRWXO); if (res != 0) { LOG("Error while creating a pipe (return:%d, errno:%d)", res, errno); } The code always prints: Error while creating a pipe (return:-1, errno:1) I can't figure out exactly why this fails. The application has android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permissions. I can create normal files with exactly the same name in the same location, but pipe creation fails. The pipe in question should be accessible from multiple applications. I suspect that noone can create pipes in /sdcard. Where would it be the best location to do so? What mode mast should I set (2nd parameter)? Does application need any extra permissions?

  • unable to find an entry point named 'interlockedexchange'

    Hi , I built an application in c# vs2005 .net . Everything works fine when i run the application in win 32 bit, But when running the application in win 64 it crashes while trying to call the pinvoke interlockedexchange(which is within the kernel32.dll) function . This is the exception : unable to find an entry point named 'interlockedexchange' I didnt find the interlockedexchange function within the kernel32.dll under system32 directory but it was found under the syswow64 directory(in the kernel32.dll) . I guess that the .net runtime is configured to the system32 directory and not to the syswow64 . How is it possible to change this configuration ? Can you think of any other problem that could cause this? any help would be appreciated! thanks , Miki Amit

I will explain I have: string pattern = "^(?<PREFIX>abc_)(?<ID>[0-9])+(?<POSTFIX>_def)$"; string input = "abc_123_def"; Regex regex = new Regex(pattern, RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); string replacement = "456"; Console.WriteLine(regex.Replace(input, string.Format("${{PREFIX}}{0}${{POSTFIX}}", replacement))); This works, but i must provide "input" to regex.Replace. I do not want that. I want to use pattern for matching but also for creating strings same way as with string format, replacing named group "ID" with value. Is that possible? I'm looking for something like: string pattern = "^(?<PREFIX>abc_)(?<ID>[0-9])+(?<POSTFIX>_def)$"; string result = ReplaceWithFormat(pattern, "ID", 999); Result will contain "abc_999_def". How to accomplish this?

    I have a situation where something can appear in a format as follows: ---id-H-- Header: data Another Header: more data Message: sdasdasdasd Message: asdasdasdasd Message: asdasdasd There may be many messages, or just a couple. I'd prefer not having to step outside of RegEx, because I am using the RegEx to parse some header information above the messages and the messages along with the headers are part of the text I am parsing. The messages attached into the text might be many. I would also like to use named capture groups, so something like Message: (?<Message[index of match]>.+) Where it matches the match as many times as it can with the index filled in. Does anything like this exist in RegEx? (I will eventually be using this in Perl)

    I am trying to send a simple XML file of the format given in http://wiki.hudson-ci.org/display/HUDSON/Monitoring+external+jobs . I was able to send it easily and was getting desired result!! Then I tried to build this XML file using python script and it was giving me the exact file that I wanted without any problem. But when I tried to run this and send it to Hudson, I was getting the error - "No module named dom.minidom" . I checked again by executing in Python IDLE and it ws working fine but when I tried to send it again, I was getting the same error.. plz help..

    I am working with a generic view in Django. I want to capture a named group parameter in the URL and pass the value to the URL pattern dictionary. For example, in the URLConf below, I want to capture the parent_slug value in the URL and pass it to the queryset dictionary value like so: urlpatterns = patterns('django.views.generic.list_detail', (r'^(?P<parent_slugs>[-\w])$', 'object_list', {'queryset':Promotion.objects.filter(category=parent_slug)}, 'promo_promotion_list'), ) Is this possible to do in one URLConf entry, or would it be wiser if I create a custom view to capture the value and pass the queryset directly to the generic view from my overridden view?

    This pattern pops up a lot. It looks like a very verbose way to move what would otherwise be separate named methods into a single method and then distinguished by a parameter. Is there any good reason to have this pattern over just having two methods Method1() and Method2() ?
