  • Objective-C function dispatch collisions; Or, how to achieve "namespaces"?

    I have an application for Mac OS X that supports plugins that are intended to be loaded at the same time. Some of these plugins are built on top of a Cocoa framework that may receive updates in one plugin but not another. Given Objective-C's current method for function dispatching, any call from any plugin to a given Objective-C routine will go to the same routine every time. That means plugin A can find itself inside plugin B with a trivial Objective-C call! Obviously what we're looking for is for each plugin to interact with its own version of the framework upon which it was built. I have been reading some on Objective-C and this particular need, but haven't found a definitive solution for it yet. Update: My use of the word "framework" above is misleading: the framework is a statically-linked library, built into the plugin(s) that need it. The way Objective-C handles dispatching, however, even these statically linked pieces of disparate code will co-mingle in the Objective-C dispatcher, leading to unintended consequences. Update 2: I'm still a bit fuzzy on the answer provided here, as it doesn't seem to propose a solution as much as an unproven hypothesis.

I am calling these private methods using the apply(this, arguments) pattern. Is there a way of designing my plugin such that I don't have to call apply to pass this from method to method?   • errors deploying an EAR with EJBs 2.1 into JBoss AS5

    Hi, I'm porting an application with EJBs 2.1 from Weblogic9 to JBoss AS5. I have made some of the changes like adding jboss.xml descriptors to EJBs and fixing application.xml of the EAR, but there are still problems when deploying the EAR.     I just started using IBM Worklight 5.0. I have been going through the HTTP Adapters recently and have successfully been able to Run as "Invoke Worklight Procedure". But I am stuck with the Adapter execution in the App. To my knowledge I think this is some kind of security issue where the client request to Worklight Server is unauthorized (401). Can any tell me or refer to some blog/website where there are steps to overcome this problem? I already got some of the websites but at this moment I am really confused on how to use them.

  • Jquery mobile function calls before Ajax Request end

When My Home page shows, I call the LoadUser functions, which on success, sets the globalUser variable with the returned json, and after it loads I call the alert function but it says globalUser is undefined. I have tried many other work arounds, but I always get the undefined mesage.   • Internationalized strings in Eclipse plugin.xml file are not found when installed in Eclipse applica

    Hi, I have created 2 plugins, implementing an ODA driver plugin and its UI plugin for the BIRT extension to Eclipse. My plugins both work as expected when eclipse starts up another eclipse application where I can then test the plugins I am developing. However, when I install my plugins into an Eclipse application and then start it from a Windows shortcut, the plugins work but and language keys specified in the plugin.xml files are not found. For example, in my plugin.xml file for the ODA Driver plugin I set the attributes 'id' to '%oda.data.source.id' and the data source 'defaultDisplayName' to '%data.source.name'. I then, in a file 'language.properties', have defined the values for both of these keys (where the keys don't have the preceeding % character). When running the plugins that have been installed into the dropins/plugins directory of an Eclipse application, the wizard for creating my ODA data source names is as '%data.source.name' and saves the data source in the rptdesign (XML) file with an ID of '%oda.data.source.id'. Since 'language' is not the default name for the properties file I went into the manifest for both plugins and changed the 'Bundle-Localization' attribute to 'language'. The language file is located in the root directory of both of my plugins. The properties file is definitely found, since I use the two language files to store other strings used by the plugins, looked up using a java ResourceBundle. The strings are always found whether the plugins are run from Eclipse application loading another, or when properly installed in the dropins/plugins directory of an Eclipse application. Why are the installed plugins not finding language keys reference in the plugin.xml files? There are not errors in the logs and the language.properties files are clearly accessible...     I would like to use ErlyBird, so I downloaded the latest Netbeans (6.8), and then downloaded and unzipped ErlyBird. After that I imported the plugins in Netbeans, but during installation I was prompted with: Warning - could not install some modules: Erlang Project - The module named org.netbeans.modules.parsing.api was needed and not found. Erlang Editor - The module named org.netbeans.modules.parsing.api was needed and not found. Another module could not be installed due to the above problems. Is there a workaround to this?

    I'm trying to add a custom sort method to the Issue.rb model in Redmine from the redmine_task_board plugin. My commit on github I don't know if this is a lack of knowledge about Rails plugins on my part or something specific I have to do with Redmine. Redmine 0.8.6.stable I want this method so that when I show the Task Board show method from tasks_board_controller I can sort the tickets in each column by Issue.priority.position.
